The Exception of https connection

When i connect to https server
if i input the IP,it throws
java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <X.X.X.X>, but cert says<server>
But if i input the server name, i.e. "server" it throws
java.net.UnknownHostException:server
what is the cause?
Any help will be appreciate?
Thank in advance

None of the above. Obviously the certs etc are OK or the OP wouldn't be getting to that point, and Authenticator has nothing to do with it either: it's the client rejecting the server, not the other way around.
@OP: look into installing a custom javax.net.ssl.HostnameVerifier.

    Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jeremy,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
    [2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
    screen mode id:i:0
    use multimon:i:1
    session bpp:i:24
    full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
    Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
    Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
    You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
    1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
    2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • The dialogs doesn't show up over HTTPS connection.

    JWS usually shows Version check and Launching dialog when it start up.
    But when it started over HTTPS connection, those dialogs doesn't show up.
    When we use HTTP connection, the application launch by following step.
    1. Java loading dialog shows
    2. Version check dialog shows
    3. Launching application dialog shows
    4. Application launched
    However, in the case of HTTPS connection, step2, 3's dialog doesn't show up.
    (It might be skipped? What's going on?)
    I think that the step1,2,3 are processed by JavaWebStart.
    Is there any way to show these dialogs when we use HTTPS connection?
    Client: Windows XP(SP2), JDK: 1.4.2_06
    Web Server: WebLogic(ver.8.1)

    When running over http or file protocol, these dialogs are shown if the update check takes more than 1500 ms, when application must be updated before launching (due in 1.5.0 to offline-allowed not being specified, or setting <update check="always" /> in 6.0) (assuming target isn't using basic authentication). If the update check can complete in less time than that, then the dialogs will not be shown.
    For https, there is a probability that the attempted https connection will cause https security dialogs, which would then always cause the check to take more than 1500 seconds (or whatever timeout is configured) so webstart won't show the download progress dialog untill it knows there is an update.
    This should be a bug, since it is handled beter in BasicAuthentication case.
    If you are using Authentication, the download dialog will show up only after 1500 ms if the JAuthenticator chalange dialog is not being shown.
    Similarilly, using https, he dialog should show after 1500 ms (or whatever timeout) if the https security dialog, or host mismatch dialog is not showmin.

  • Ensure image loaded via http connection

    hi all
    I have a midlet that will load various images and displaying them on a canvas, upon request from the sever via HTTP connection.
    And since the operation are being performed via the commands, the http connection code had been placed in another thread.
    My question is, how can I ensure that all the necessary images are being loaded before moving on to execute the next code segment in my midlet?

    When i try to send the server its unable to recieve image data . it was able to recieve request data.
    As we use the same procedure to send data(irrespective of form as i m sending bytes)
    Here is the code snippet
    private boolean OpenHTTPConnection(String xmlData, String strUrl, String strRequestType) {
            System.out.println("UUURRRRLLL ->" + strUrl);
            System.out.println("XML Data---> ->" + xmlData + "'''''''" + bHTTPStatus);
            int rc, height, width;
            byte[] data;
            byte[] imageData = null;
            InputStream iStrm = null;
            try {
                if (xmlData != null) {
                    con = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(strUrl, Connector.READ_WRITE, false);
                    con.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);
                    data = xmlData.getBytes();
                    System.out.println("1->" + data);
                    OutputStream ops = con.openOutputStream();
                    System.out.println("----data length---" + data.length);
                  ops.write(data);
       if (Snapper.isUpload == true) {
    ops.write(Snapper.raw,0,Snapper.raw.length);
                    rc = con.getResponseCode();
                    if (rc != HttpConnection.HTTP_OK) {
                        result.setText("Server is not ready...");
                    if (ops != null) {
                        ops.close();
                    xmlData = null;
                    imageData = null;
                    Snapper.isUpload = false;
                }// end of null check
                else {
                    System.out.println("Open the Con using this URL--->" + strUrl);
                    // open the specific photo for View module
                    con = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(strUrl);
                    con.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.GET);
                strParameters = null;
            } catch (Exception e) {
                System.out.println("Exception------->" + e);
                e.printStackTrace();
                midlet.uiManeger.SetLastErrorCode(Parser.NO_NETWORK);
            return true;

  • HTTP connection authentication - Please Help

    I need to call a URL (that passes user and password parameters) to log on.
    Next, I need to call another (and different) URL to perform an insertion. This operation requires the user to be logged on. I could not establish the authentication via HTTP connection.
    ANY HELP WILL BE GRATLY APPRECIATED.
    This is my source code:

    URL url2 = new URL("http://myserver/save?as_categ_id=82");
    URLConnection connection = url.openConnection();

    Hi,
    your problem is very simple.
    The class java.util.Vector has no methods get() without parameter and no method next().
    Try using a for-loop with oprNames.size() and method get(i) with i as your index.

  • Resteasy in-built exceptions not caught in the exception mapper

    Hi friends,
    I have written some exception mappers to catch and handle the in-built rest easy exceptions like NotFoundException,MethodNotAllowedException, etc., Sample code as shown:
    @Provider
    public class NotFoundExceptionMapper implements ExceptionMapper<org.jboss.resteasy.spi.NotFoundExc eption>
    @Override
    Response toResponse(org.jboss.resteasy.spi.NotFoundExceptio n exception) {
    return Response.status(500).build();
    I have also written a try catch block in my web filter class. Whenever a NotFoundException occurs, it is not caught in the mapper, but it goes to the catch block in the Filter.
    Whereas I have tried another exception mapper class to handle JsonParsingException. This is working correctly and giving a proper response from the mapper whenever a Json Parse exception occurs.
    The issue is only with the case of resteasy inbuilt exceptions.
    Also, the Provider has been registered in the application context using the include-filter tag inside component scan.
    Is there any additional configuration to be done for this?
    Please guide me as to what needs to be done to catch rest easy in-built exceptions in the mapper class itself.

    RM

  • No redirection to different url upon http connections limit exceeded

    Hi,
    As of Standalone OC4j 10.1.2, if you want messages to be redirected to a different URL when the maximum connections limit is reached, you would include the HTTP redirect URL to max-http-connections tag inside server.xml.
    <max-http-connections max-connections-queue-timeout="120" socket-backlog="50"
    value="100">http://optional.redirect.url/page.jsp</max-http-connections>
    I have a standalone OC4j 10.1.3, and would like to be able to redirect to different URL when maximum connections limit is reached but the above max-http-connections does not work and I am not redirected to different URL when maximum connectionns limit is reached. I read user guide of OC4j 10.1.3 and there is no mentioning of max-http-connections at all. In there, they talk about limiting concurrency via http thread pool but there is no discussion as to the mechanism of redirecting users to a different URL where I can display a user friendly message to say "Server is busy, please try again later..." instead of browser display a message "Page cannot be displayed"..
    Please advice,
    Thanks

    Any thoughts on above issue ? please help.
    thanks

  • HTTP connection to ABAP runtime failed

    I am building a scenario where XI picks up a file from a directory and pushes an IDoc to ECC.  I have configured the interface with the Design tool, and I believe my setup in the Configuration tool are correct too, however I am encountering an error when testing the scenario by means of --
    Tools --> Test Configuration.
    The testing tool is giving me the following error upon processing the reciever determination:
    HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime failed.
    Error: 403 Forbidden
    URL: http://serveraddress:port/sap/xi/simulation?sap-client=100
    User: PIDIRUSER
    First of all, I am not sure who the PIDIRUSER is, I assume it's a system user?  Second, given that this error is a HTTP connection error, I am lead to believe that the issue lies somewhere in the RFC connection from XI -> ECC.  I am not sure why exactly it's attempting to connect via HTTP as my communication channel is using the IDoc adapter with an RFC destination to connect to ECC.  Possibly I have configured this incorrectly.  I have read about having to configure a RFC adapter when posting messages from R/3 to XI, does the same apply when posting an IDoc from XI to ECC?  Does anyone have any other thoughts as to why this error may be occuring?  Thanks in advance for your time and help.

    Hi
    Try this
    note 517484
    1) Activated all services
    2) In Integration builder, receiver communication channel make sure you have entered proper
    host service number
    path = /sap/xi/enigne?type = receiver.
    3)Go to SU01 > type PIISUSER and reset the user's pw
    Check out this might be helpful
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/89/05793c05f0807be10000000a11405a/content.htm
    1.Did you maintain Client, userid, password, and lang information in SICF transaction -> sap/xi/engine? Double click on service and check whether you have entered correct information.
    2.Then you might check the roles of the XIISUSER in SU01. In some case there are some double roles, i.e., two times the role SAP_XI_IS_SERV_USER assigned. One might have the date of the last update, the other one might have apparently the older version. Delete the older roles manually and the error should disappear.
    3.to send messages to xi you need a service id / pwd which is specific to your landscape usually its xiappluser. Contact your basis group for password.
    4.
    - Activated all services on the r3 system.
    - Create HTTP connection to XI from r3
    sm59-> http connetons to r3
    - let us say you have created a HTTP connection in the integrationserver_XI, make sure in its settings the prefix path is set to /sap/xi/engine?type=entry. Also check its log on credentials, you can use xiappluser.
    - IN Integration builder, receiver communication channel make sure you have entered proper
    host service number
    path = /sap/xi/enigne?type = receiver.
    5. can you also try the following;
    Visual Admin -> start the service,
    "com.sap.aii.af.ms.app".
    I don't know this Forum no fhats why i copied.
    Thanks

  • HTTP connection ABAP runtime failed- 404 Error

    Hi,
    We have just installed a new PI 7.0 system. When we do the cache connectivity test we get the following error:
    "HTTP connection to ABAP runtime failed:
    Error: 404 Not Found
    URL: http://PID:50000/sap/xi/simulation?sap-client=020
    User: PIDIRUSER
    The port should have  be 8000, but it is picking 50000. Can someone tell us where to fix this issue? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I know you got to set the correct URL and port  ,I am not sure but I think URL in  SLD and port for IS.
    and URL supposed to be something like this  http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry

  • Use HTTP connection over SAPROUTER?

    hallo
    i have 2 saprouters connected so i can access sap with sapgui by using saprouter string
    /H/212.xx.xx.xxx/S/sapdp99/H/212.yy.yy.yyy/S/sapdp99/H/
    so far no problem
    i added entries in saprouttab for port 8000 as well (same es for oss service required)
    how can i now access to bsp application by using this saprouter-tunnel?
    i find a lot of documentation how to setup the saprouttab for http connection but not how to use it
    regards
    joerg

    > I bet the same applies for http.
    yes.
    If the SAP support clicks on an HTTP connection some local scripts on their PCs will act as a proxy, so basically the connect "locally" and internal programs/proxies forward that through the saprouter connections.
    To make an HTTP access from outside the network possible you can install an apache webserver and configure it as a reverse proxy.

  • JSF 1.2 postback calls swallow the exception

    Hi All,
    I have a problem in handling a exception thrown during a post back request.
    Here is the scenario:
    I have a valueChangeLsitener on an inputText component, and say some exception is thrown from the valueChangeListener, JSF swallows the exception and doesn’t throw it to outer exception handlers.
    Code:
    <af:inputText label="Project#-Job#: "
    required="true"
    autoSubmit="true"
    valueChangeListener="#{createRevisionProjectBB.getProjJobDetail}"
    value="#{revisionProjectMB.paProjectJob}"/>
    public void fetchProjDetail() throws Exception {
    throw new Exception("some exception");
    I would expect this to be caught in the global exception handler, but this is not thrown to the base exception.
    any idea? Have you guys come across this sometime?
    Regards,
    Parthiban

    Hi,
    the ADFc handler does not catch errors beyond a specific point in the lifecycle. In your case surrounding the code with a try/catch block probably helps.
    See: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5283046
    Alternatively you can try to extend the ADFc exception handler to see if the exception shows
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2010/02/01/how-to-create-custom-adfc-exception-handler/
    Note that exceptions in an ADF region are not passed to the exception handler of the parent task flow. In this case try and define a exception handler for the bounded task flow

  • RecordStore, HTTP connections

    Hi all!
    I'm not familiar with Midlet programming, so I have some questions. I hope that programmers who have experience can give me answer.
    I think there are two things which are whireless device specific: the data storing facility and the handling of http connections.
    So my questions are:
    1. Approximately how many bytes can be stored on a mobile phone?
    2. If there are more than one midlets uploaded how can they share the storage space? If a midlet occupy the half of the available space, the other midlets the remaining space can use?
    3. How is resolved a http connection? Is it something like a dial-up connection? If yes, when is finished? When the connection is closed?
    If my midlet uses several http connections this dial-up process is always repeated?
    4. I would like to write a simple 'pizza shop'. That means that the midlet would often communicate with a web server. Is it a realizable idea? (I know it is a little bit stupid...:)
    Thanks in advance,
    holex

    answeres that i can give:
    1. its device specific, some have more memory then others.
    2. just as on your computer, they just share the memory, problems may only occure when u have 2 or more midlets running at the same time, as i heard i should be posible but never needet to do it myself.
    3. on the most mobile phones in the new group of m. phones (think all java phones are of the new generation) you phone is always on the net, you pay per package that you transfer, that meens you are always on the net, so you just need to open a connection to a server just as your pc does if you have already programmed java.net programs. you need to open only a connection and close it but do not need to dial into anything.
    remember, you are alway online, just what you send and recieve ist what you pay for.
    4. it is not only realizable but even it should be kind of easy if you are aware of client server programming. the j2me would only be your GUI.
    i will give you some idea on how to do it:
    1st. create a server in java2 or java2ee (the first one would be easyer) which will listen to a port, on request tell if there is a new pizza menue, if yes send the new one to the client if not send a 'no update' flag, listen for incoming requests and if there is a request, show it on the desktop pc's screen.
    2nd. client, which on start send a request to the server, asking for a new menue if there is one, if not show the old one. save what the user wants, (pizza with tuna and 1l coke a bottle of wine and so on...) after choosing sends the data to the server. I would do one more thing, one the first start of the programm ask the user vor his infos: tel. num., addres, and what ever you need and a unique id (time+ infos+math algo). save the settings and send it to the server which saves it.
    on the next time the saved id will be send to the server and so the user will have less connection time and less packages to send.
    there might be some more things to do but if you know java2 the normal version it should be kinda easy.
    wish you luck

    What is the best way to open a HTTPS connection and retrieve the content as XML? This is how most of the online API is done nowadays, how can this be done on the iphone SDK?
    Thanks

    Have a look at the SeismicXML example that comes with the iPhone SDK. It uses http instead of https but it may work for you.
    You can also look at the NSURLRequest and NSURLConnection classes.
