The icon for Download Helper has disappeared and I can't seem to get it back. I see reference to it in the Firefox Tools dropdown. Where did it go? Thank you.

Video Download Helper is an add-on that I frequently use. It used to have an icon right next to the home icon beside the URL line. It is no longer there. It disappeared after Firefox prompted me to update.
I believe that the add-on is still available to use by Firefox because it has a drop-down embedded in the "tools" drop-down in Firefox.
I have attempted to reload Video Download Helper, but to no avail.

My download page has disappeared and I can't seem to download from my hotmail account.

Something has gone wrong with firefox. I use it to access the net. I use it to access my email account. But suddenly my ability to download items sent to me in my mail can't be downloaded. In the past when I clicked on download a download page appeared and gave me the status of the download. Nothing happens when I download now and it is becoming very frustrating. I can download using safari as the web browser but I prefer Firefox. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would do 1 thing at a time:"now the micropohone is not working in facetime"
Here is what you can check to get your mike working in facetime:
1. Hold down option while you click on the speaker next to time a. date,
under input Device see if your mic is marked. If not: ✔️
2. Click the apple top left/System Prefs./click on the Sound speaker:
under Input highlight microphone.
3. When you have factime on go to video above scroll and see if your mic is marked ✔️
If that does not get it to work there is more you can check:
(Utilities/Audio, midi setup)
For any other audio device you do this for input and output.
If you get stock post back

I have lost the URL box on the top of the page and I can't seem to get it back -- I don't want to reset everything -- only return the URL box on the top -- how can I do that?

Please keep the latest drivers for the network adapter, you can browser the manufacture website for the latest driver.
If you've already have the latest drivers, I suggest you remove all existing network profile including the issued one, then recreate the network connection, check this issue again.

Icon for bookmarks toolbar has disappeared. How can I have it permanently displayed again?

My bookmarks still exist, but the permanent icon to open the window with 1 click in the upper left corner of screen has suddenly disappeared. I was recently making adjustments to my views and toolbars, and may have accidentally switched it off but I cannot see how to get it back. Firefox 3.6. Computer novice here. Please go easy on me. Follow the instructions in the [[how to customize the toolbar]] article to locate the icon and drag it back onto the toolbar.

The ID for updating apps has changed and I can't update apps

I went to update apps and when the pop up came up there was a different ID there and I can't update.

You can logout of the account via Settings > Store and touching the account id on the right-hand side, and then logging in with the correct it - you can also do it via the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store tab.

When using clone tool, the NORMAL mode has disappeared. How can I reset to get normal back???

I have searched and cannot find a solution for this. The NORMAL mode for the Clone tool (at the top in options) has disappeared. The top two are dissorve and behind. I cannot find out how to reset and don't know what I did to make the "normal mode" option disappear from menu. Please help! Thanks, Jeanne

Sounds like the scroll bar is missing. I've seen a few posts about this happening with the brush tool. Bug?
It can be worked around by using the blend mode shortcuts.
Shortcut key combos to rotate through blend modes
Select the tool (clone tool) then press alt + shift + N to get normal blend mode if on Windows. If on a Mac change that shortcut to opt + shift + N.
Dissolve is probably also missing. The window's shortcut for that if needed is alt + shift + I. On Mac, use opt + shift + I.
Alternately, you can rotate through the blend modes by using the shortcut key combo alt + shift + + on Windows. On Mac, that shortcut will be opt + shift + +. You can also substitute - for the + in that combo to rotate up through the blend mode list instead of down through the blend mode list.
The above shortcut combos work smoothest if you hold in the alt + shift (opt + shift) keys together before you press the letter or + or - key.
These shortcut work combos with any tool that uses a blend mode settings...

There's a strange bookmark "(no title)" with no icon in my Bookmarks Toolbar folder and I can't seem to get rid of it, plus it causes some problems.

This "bookmark" can't be deleted nor I can choose the option "Forget About This Site" or anything else. It just won't disappear. Furthermore, when this bookmark is placed in a section (separated by separator) with other bookmarks, it causes them not to be shown in the Bookmarks Toolbar, so I have to place it in a section where there are no other bookmarks but this one, still I can't get rid of it nor know I got did it get there. I tried running Firefox in safe mode and whatnot but nothing seems to work. Please help me out.

I should have figured that out from your original post. I think there is a possibility that your bookmarks/history database (places.sqlite) has a corrupted record. Rather than take drastic action on that immediately, could you do a test? The test is to exit Firefox, rename your existing database, and restart Firefox. Firefox should import your last bookmarks backup. You then could check whether the problem remains or whether you got a clean restore of bookmarks. After the test, assuming you prefer to retain your history, you could undo the procedure and try restoring your bookmark backup into the database to see whether that overwrites the problem record. If not, then we would go back to possible drastic action.

Switch back to Firefox and Exit

Desktop in Trash involuntarily and I can't seem to get it back out.

Erm ok... am not rightly sure what has just happened. I was unraring some files... I went to empty my trash... and then before I knew it... the files I was unraring were in my trash and I was getting the error message that some of my files were in use. I hadn't realised this at that point so I clicked continue.
Now my desktop is in my trash and I can' seem to recover it. I had aliases on my desktop which I have gone to recreate and when I send them to the desktop via the finder... they go straight to the trash. I still have some files on my desktop though... so what's happening and why is my desktop in the trash. How could I have done so accidentally?

Simply relaunched finder and all is now okay. However how could that have just happened?
