The imp utility fails to import triggers

After making a complet export of a user of Oracle 10g Database, data, procedures and triggers, when trying to import the user to a other database ,with the imp utility, all go fine except the triggers and some procedures. ¿Why? Because ,in anyway, the imp or the exp utility, I dont know, append the character '"' at the end of the lines.
I think that maybe it can be by the NLS, because the imp utility say me, 'the export was done in USS7ASC and ALFT16.. and the import is weiso8859...'. But I dont know.
¿Any Help?.
Thanks in advanced.

Hi,
. . importing partition "BERICHTSWERTE":"BRW IMP-00058: ORACLE error 1502 encountered
ORA-01502: index 'ODS.BRW_PK' or partition of such index is in unusable state
Import terminated successfully with warnings
It seems u have some indexes on this partitioned which got disabled becuase of your above DDL .
The solution would be to DROP the specified index, or REBUILD the specified index, or REBUILD the unusable index partition.

  • My Macintosh HD partition is damaged and the disk utility failed to repair it

    I cannot boot anymore after I tried to repair the disk with Disk Utility after my Mac became very slow.
    This is the second time it happened to me in a week with the same symptoms. When I try to boot, I see a gray screen and the computer just stops
    When I use the recovery partition, the disk utility fails to repair the disk, stopping after failing to fix the catalog file.
    I started to use TM to backup my data after erasing the disk and reinstalling Mountain Lion but I wonder if my hard drive is damaged because the same problem happened twice. (Thanks TM for keeping my data safe this time)
    Any advice or ways to fix that once and for all ?
    PS : The worst is that i can still boot with Bootcamp to Windows, not very useful though

    Since your Recovery HD and Windows partition work fine, the problem is located in your Macintosh HD partition and I very highly suspect it's bad/failing sectors that's to blame for your troubles.
    This can sometimes occur if the computer was moved while the hard drive was in operation, else sectors fail all by themselves, or if the drive is having mechanical issues, which you problem will continue no matter what you do.
    This time when you use Recovery > Disk Utility to erase the Macintosh HD partition, use the middle secure erase option, not the far left or right options (the right will work also just take a really long time)
    What your doing is with the middle secure erase option is called a "Zero" write, which Disk Utility will write 0's over all the bits in that partition. When it's done it will read it back for confirmation and when it does so, any bits that are failing will be mapped off by the drive. Hopefully this will resolve the issue without needing a drive replacement.
    Once that is completed, reinstall OS X from Recovery, any programs from original sources, files only from backup and your problems hopefully should disappear.
    What happens is if your data gets corrupted on the boot drive by failing sectors, it gets transfered to TimeMachine (or to bootable clones) and when you restore your right back to square one. So it's important to rule out that possibility with original installs of OS X and third party programs.
    If your problems continue, then it's possibly a problem  with third party at boot kernel extension files, (and the catalog problem was yet another one) so to solve this you need to make sure all your third party software is updated and works with your current OS X version.
    A trick is, if you get gray screen at boot time, is to hold the Shift Key while booting the computer, this will disable a lot of things and allow you to fix the third party software issue.
    What I suggest you do is have multiple backup systems, including hold option key bootable clones, this way if your TM drive gets corrupted you can go back in time to a saved state on the clone, restore that and then your files from the TM drive.

  • The connection has failed while importing metadata in RPD

    Hi All,
    Recently I start creating a repository (OBIEE 11g client version 11.1.1.3.0) in offline mode and I want to import metadata which failed by the error ‘The connection has failed’..
    Kind Regards,
    Mohan

    Hi Mohan,
    Solution:
    1.Copy the tnsnames.ora from Oracle Database home (ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN\) to the following locations.
    * \OracleBI1\network\admin (Example: C:\OBI\Oracle_BI1\network\admin)
    * \oracle_common\network\admin (Example: C:\OBI\oracle_common\network\admin)
    2.Set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable value with one of the copied locations in the step 1 in user.cmd or http://user.sh file depending on your OS.
    This file will be found under
    \instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup
    (Example : C:\OBI\instances\instance2\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup)
    Thanks,
    -Amith.

  • The restore utility fails to find any Mac os backups on my time machine disks, but they are there. Any ideas?

    The Time Machine utility seems to be backing up correctly. The backups appear when I open the backup disk, however, when I try to restore a backup, the utility correctly identifies any disks which contain Time Machine backup files, but when that disk is selected, the utility cannot find any actual backup files.
    I have reinstalled the operating system, and repaired and rebuilt all the disks. Apple support suspects that I have a hardware a problem, in that the motherboard is incapable of communicating with some devices. It doesn't matter whether the backup files are on an internal disk, or an external USB drive.
    It strikes me as a little weird that the utility knows which disk contain backup files, and will display those disk correctly within the utility, but cannot find any actual backup files, once a particular disk is selected within the utility.
    The good news is I have three months to go on my AppleCare plan. The bad news is the closest repair facility is 65 miles away.
    Any thoughts on this?

  • ORA-01435: user does not exist when using imp utility

    I installed Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 successfully on WINDOWS 2000 and created a database TEST using DBCA. Then I used a script to creat a tablespace and a user in TEST databse. I could use the imp utility to import the data (a dmp file) to the TEST database without any problem. But after I applied a patch to bring up the version to Oracle 8.1.7.4.1, I got the following error when I tried to use the imp utility again to import the data (a dmp file) to the TEST database.
    IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1435 encountered
    ORA-01435: user does not exist
    IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
    I checked that I created the same user test (as it is in dmp file I wanted to import) on TEST, and I could login to TEST using:
    sqlplus test/test@TEST
    The command I used is:
    imp system/password@TEST file=test.dmp full=y log=importTEST.TEST.tmp
    I also tried to use the following command:
    imp system/password@TEST file=test.dmp fromuser=test touser=test log=importTEST.TEST.tmp
    and got the same error as before.
    Anyone has any clues what could go wrong? The only difference for me to import the data on TEST is that the
    previous successful import was done in Oracle 8.1.7.0.0.
    Is it possible that I missed something during the applying of the patch 8.1.7.4.1?
    Thanks, and your help is greatly appreciated.
    Jane

    Ther is a set of instruction to be followed after installing the patch set 8.1.7.4.1 after running it thru OUI.They are as follows. Please complete these steps and u should not have problems any more.
    When applying this patchset on Windows NT and Windows 2000, you must log onto the system as a user with Administrative privileges (e.g., as a user which is a member of the local Administrators group).
    1.Disabling system triggers.
    Before performing the next step, you must first set SYSTEMTRIG_ENABLED = FALSE in the initialization parameter file. To do this add the following line to your init<sid>.ora file and restart the database (see Note 149948.1 in Metalink for more information on this issue).
    systemtrig_enabled=false
    2.Invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following:
    select * from duc$ where PACK='JIS$INTERCEPTOR$' ;
    If no rows were returned go to the next step. If a row was returned delete it using the following:
    delete from duc$ where PACK='JIS$INTERCEPTOR$' ;
    commit;
    3.Invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following SQL scripts with event 10520 set. NOTE: This event is not intended for regular database operation and when turned on below by the 'ALTER SESSION' command will automatically be turned off by the subsequent 'CONNECT' command.
    ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS '10520 TRACE NAME CONTEXT FOREVER, LEVEL 10';
    ?/rdbms/admin/catalog.sql
    ?/rdbms/admin/catproc.sql
    ?/rdbms/admin/catrep.sql (This only needs to be run if you are using symmetric/advanced replication. This is not necessary for sites using dblinks and read-only snapshots if symmetric/advanced replication is not installed)
    CONNECT / AS SYSDBA;
    update obj$ set status=5 where type#=29 and owner#!=0;
    commit;
    4.You can ignore this step if you have already executed it as part of a previous 8.1.7 patch set install.
    If Java has previously been loaded into the database, invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following SQL DDL command(* Note:If Java has not previously been loaded into the database, skip this step).:
    SQL> create or replace java system
    2 /
    (Note that the / (slash) is important to ensure the execution of the command).
    To ensure the correct installation of the XDK in the database run the following 2 scripts (Bug 2115227):
    $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/admin/initxml.sql
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catxsu.sql
    * To determine whether Java has previously been loaded into the database:
    invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following:
    SQL> select count(*) from all_objects where object_type like 'JAVA%';
    Java is installed if you get a non zero result returned from the query.
    5.You can ignore this step if you have already executed it as part of a previous 8.1.7 patch set install:
    If Java has previously been loaded into the database, invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following scripts which are located in $ORACLE_HOME/javavm/install ( Note: If Java has not previously been loaded into the database, you can skip this step):
    load_jis.sql
    jisja.sql
    initjsp.sql
    jspja.sql
    Notes:
    When running the $ORACLE_HOME/javavm/install/jisja.sql script the following error may be reported and can be ignored:
    call jis_exit_java_session(0)
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29515: exit called from Java code with status 0
    Bug 1459233 was filed against this problem which is fixed in 9i.
    6.If you deleted a row from duc$ in step 8 then reinsert it again. Invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following SQL:
    insert into duc$ (OWNER, PACK, PROC, FIELD1, OPERATION#, SEQ) values ('SYS', 'JIS$INTERCEPTOR$', 'USER_DROPPED', 0, 1, 1);
    commit;
    7.Enabling system triggers.
    You must either remove SYSTEMTRIG_ENABLED from the initialization parameter file or explicitly set it to TRUE before attempting any other patch set post-install steps. Restart the database.
    8.This step is optional - it will recompile all invalid PL/SQL packages now rather than when accessed for the first time - you can also use utlrcmp.sql to parallelize this. Invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following SQL script:
    ?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql
    9.Execute the following steps only if you have installed Oracle interMedia Text in the database you are attempting to modify:
    If you have not previously unlocked the ctxsys account and supplied a password for that account, you need to do so. (If you have needed to use Oracle Text in any way prior to applying the patchset, you will have already performed this step, and you can skip this.) Do so by issuing the following statement:
    ALTER USER ctxsys IDENTIFIED BY <passwd> ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    If you have already installed 8.1.7.2 or 8.1.7.3, go directly to step 7 below.
    If you have already installed 8.1.7.1, go directly to step 5 below.
    CONNECT ctxsys/<passwd>;
    @?/ctx/admin/upgrade/u0801071.sql
    CONNECT ctxsys/<passwd>;
    @?/ctx/admin/upgrade/u0801072.sql
    CONNECT / AS SYSDBA;
    @?/ctx/admin/upgrade/s0801074.sql
    CONNECT ctxsys/<passwd>
    @?/ctx/admin/dr0pkh.sql
    @?/ctx/admin/dr0plb.sql
    @?/ctx/admin/dr0type.plb
    @?/ctx/admin/dr0typec.plb
    9.You can ignore this step if you have already executed it as part of a previous 8.1.7 patch set install:
    The installation of this patch set fixes a potential security hole in the XSQL Servlet - see here for more detail. The patchset installation does not, however, modify any of the Oracle HTTP Server configuration files to reflect changes to the XSQL Servlet installation. If you have previously installed the Oracle HTTP Server, you will need to update one of the configuration files manually after the patchset installation is complete. If you do not do so, the XSQL Servlet may not work in the context of the Oracle HTTP Server after the patchset is installed. To update your Oracle HTTP Server configuration, perform the following steps:
    1) Edit the file: $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/conf/jserv.properties
    2) Search for the string: "XSQLConfig.xml File location"
    3) Modify the parameter wrapper.classpath on the line immediately following the above string to read: $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/admin
    4) Save the file.
    10.You can ignore this step if you have already executed it as part of a previous 8.1.7 patch set install:
    The installation of this patch set fixes a potential security hole in the PL/SQL XML parser - see here for more detail. To load the new XML parser in to the database, run the following script as user SYS:
    ? /xdk/plsql/parser/bin/load.sql
    11.If you are using the RMAN catalog then upgrade it as follows:
    rman catalog <user/passwd@alias>
    upgrade catalog;
    upgrade catalog;
    The post install actions are now complete and the database is now ready for use.

  • Using Imp utility to Import a database on 10g release 2

    I am using the Imp Utility on 10g release 2 to import from a 10g release 1 database. I have created a new tablesapce and need the dmp to be imported to the new tablespace. But it goes and imports to the system tablespace. The command i use is
    imp <User name>/<password> file=<file_name> log =<log name> full=Yes
    the user name and password i use is the username and password i gave in the installation for system tables. When i specify the tablespace imp <User name>/<password>@<tablespace> it comes with "ORACLE error 12154 encountered".
    Do i need to create a new user to get the import done. How do i create it?

    The contents of the dump will be imported to the tablespace under which you run the import.
    If your dump from Oracle 10G R1 is a complete database dump and you need to import the data of a specific user in the dump, then you can use fromuser= touser= options in the import command.
    If your Oracle 10GR2 database is blank, then you need to create the user in which you can import the data. You can use a command like this.
    CREATE USER sidney
    IDENTIFIED BY out_standing1
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE example
    QUOTA 10M ON example
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    Note: sidnye, out_standing1, example, temp are all arbitrary names. You need to match these with your environment.

    Intermediate answer: The app launched correctly and the import process has started.
    It is taking ages though. Over 3 hours for around 30K messages.
    The message count sometimes gets stuck for 20-30 minutes or so and then starts counting again...
    There are ~5K messages left to be imported. I'll let you know if it goes ok.
    Stay tuned for the next and hopefully last episode.

  • Failed to import PDF

    Just received and advert and tried to place it in InDesign but it comes up with the error message "Failed to Import PDF".
    This PDF was created in Corel here's the info from Acrobat
    Any ideas? If getting it resupplied what Corel PDF version is supported by InDesign?

    As it happens, meteorite impacts may not occur for a million years, and then twice the same day on opposite sides of the Earth.
    I just got two PDFs, and on placing I got the usual Show Options options, complete with preview (and no unavailable option selected). On OK'ing it to place, ID said, I quote, "Failed to open the PDF file". It opened just fine in Acrobat. Pitstop, on the other hand, didn't really like it, and refused to do anything with the file. Printing the file from PDF to PDF finally made it come alive.
    FWIW, both PDFs appear to be created by some software called "Microsoft PowerPoint", and Produced By "Mac OS X 10.5.8 Quartz PDFContext". I strongly suspect either of them could be the responsible party.

    Hi Amruta
    ENABLING TRACING AND AUDIT TRAILS IN THE IMPORT LOG
    The Verbose parameter in the mdis.ini file controls how much
    information is included in the Import log (see u201CMDIS Configurationu201D on
    page 396 for more information about the mdis.ini file).
    Settings for the Verbose parameter in are described in Table 91.
    Table 91. Verbose Parameter Settings
    Setting Hexadecimal Description

  • Import database using 10g imp utility.

    Hi,
    I have database on my local drive that is kind of old. I need to replace it with the one from the server.
    I created oesexport.dmp file using the following command:
    exp ledger/xxxxxx FILE='oesexport.dmp' OWNER=LEDGER
    oesexport.dmp file contains everything that belongs to LEDGER : tables, sequences, views, etc.
    Now I need to import database to my local drive. If I use the following statement:
    imp ledger/xxxxxx file=oesexport.dmp fromuser=ledger
    the procedure will not replace tables, sequences, views with the new ones from the server with the same names because it will try to recreate existing tables, sequences, views, etc. in my local database and they already exist there. I will get error messages. The procedure will only add the stuff from server to my local database that does not exist on my local. Since I need to replace tables/sequences/views, etc if they exist on my local and add new stuff if does not exist on my local, HOW SHOULD I MODIFY THE IMP STATAMENT?
    Thanks. Lev.

    Yes, of couse, I can drop the whole ledger scema and use and the imp procedure I specified and it will work just fine, but I heard the the new 10g import utility will allow replacemet (if they exist in the database) and addition (if they do not exist in the database) of Oralce objects without dropping the objects belonging to the user.
    Therefore my qustion was how should I change my IMP procedure to make it work.
    Lev.

  • My mac keeps freezing, the disk utility states the hardrive is failing

    Hi. My desktop was upgraded to the snow leopard and has had increasing problems with freezing. Now it wont start up at all, so I have to open it with the Disk 1 OS.. then I went to the disk utility to try and repair it.  But it says the hard drive is failing. When I did the hard drive test, it passed without any issues.  I am confused and cannot restart my computer.

    If by the "hard drive test" you mean the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) that you run by starting up the Mac into it, it is possible (but not very likely) that reformatting the HD using Disk Utility while booted from the installer DVD & then reinstalling the OS from the same source will set things right.
    To do the reformat, select the entire HD & use the "Partition" tab to choose a new, single partition scheme from the popup.
    But if you cannot even get that far, or the process fails, then your drive is dying, even if AHT can't detect it.

  • HT1145 I downloaded the Airport Utility 5.6 for OS X Lion and when I finish installing it sends a message that says "the instalation failed contact your software provider"

    I downloaded the Airport Utility 5.6 for OS X Lion and when I finish installing it sends a message that says "the instalation failed contact your software provider" And seems like thats the solution so I can use my time capsule.
    Thanks

    Thanks. Please review my post above to see that we asked five basic questions.
    Looks like we got two answers.
    Can you please provide answers to the other questions that we asked?
    1)  Are you trying to connect your Time Capsule to your modem using an Ethernet cable?
    2)  What is the make and model number of your modem?
    3)  Are you still using Lion (10.7.5) as you indicate in your profile, or have you updated to Mountain Lion or Mavericks?
    I understand that things appear clear to you there, but we cannot read your mind or see your network, so we only know as much about your problem and your network as you can tell us.

  • Ldif2db command fails to import data and deletes the root node

    ldif2db command fails to import data into LDAP.
    The command used was
    ldif2db -n userRoot -s "dc=example,dc=com" -i test.ldif
    The test.ldif conains the nodes under dc=example,dc-com
    eg: ou=test,dc=example,dc=com
    But on executing the command the root node "dc=example,dc=com" itself got deleted. The console output was like "Skipping entry uid=test001,ou=test,dc=example,dc=com" for all the entries present in ldif.
    What might be the reason for this ? Any clues ?
    The reason y i am trying to do this ldif2db is to preserve the createtimestamp and modifytimestamp while migrating data from one Directory Server to another. Any other ways of doing it ?

    ldif2db is the right command to migrate data and preserve those attributes like createtimestamp and modifytimestamp.
    However, when this command is used, it will first remove everthing before it load whatever you want. So you need to be very careful. I got this terrible problem as well.
    In my experience, if you use this command, don't use "-s". You can just use:
    ldif2db -n suffixName -i test.ldif
    If you only have one suffix (database), then you can use "-n userRoot".
    Also, if you migrate your data from server A to server B, you'd better dump the data using db2ldif -n userRoot -a test.ldif from server A. Then load it into server B using ldif2db -n userRoot -i test.ldif.

    Hi,
    Before going further, what was name specified in the IPAM provisioning wizard while selecting Group Policy based provisioning method? The GPO prefix name specified in the
    PowerShell command must be same as the one specified in the IPAM provisioning wizard while selecting Group Policy based provisioning method.
    Regarding Invoke-IpamGpoProvisioning, the following article can be referred to as reference.
