I have a computer with Windows 8.1 installed. I thought that was the problem, but I've seen others write that they had no problem installing Forefox with 8.1. I've been trying to download Firefox from Chrome, and while I can manage to download just fine, installation will take for ever and then stop completely saying it has been interrupted. Avast! will then scan the file, say it's fine and ask if I want to try again, but a popup will appear saying that the file is corrupted and cannot be extracted. After several failed attempts, I tried from Internet Explorer, but with even less luck. Firefox wouldn't even download, and something called Windows Smartscreen kept popping up saying it had prevented the app from running. I would tell it to run anyway, but I'd only get another popup saying that this app could not be run on this computer.

it seems to work when you reset the port
try this only after you've made sure that any antiviral/firewall software isnt blocking iTunes and the internet connection settings are fine
1. go to windows, accessories and right click on command prompt and run as administrator
2. type in netsh winsock reset (i know sounds ridiculous but it works type WITH SPACES) and press enter
3. Message saying "winsock reset successful now reboot your computer"
4. restart your computer, and open iTunes..backup should run much smoother and faster
5.Click on iTunes store might be working now

Why does the installer keep getting stuck but no error messages appear in the log?

So as of I think recently, I've been having problems installing things. I'm using installer version 2.1.
I found myself having to re-install a driver for my tablet awhile ago, and every time I tried to install it the installer got stuck in the 90%s somewhere. However, no error window popped up and when i went to look at the log, it didn't show any errors.
I again encountered this same installing problem today when I went to install a newer slightly updated version of Java which would work on os x 10.4 and the installer got stuck at 99% again showing no errors.
Help? I have no idea what the problem could be, I believe it's way beyond me.

Why do contacts name keep getting longer and longer?

On some of my contacts, the name keeps getting longer and longer.
For example, if my name is Jason Kahng.
After a few weeks, when I lookup my name in Contacts it comes up as "Jason Kahng Jason Kahng Jason Kahng"
This is very annoying. If I edit the name back down to Jason Kahng, it will do this again a few weeks later.
Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Song capacity keeps getting less and less

i don't know if this problem has been posted already but i use to be able to hold about 475 songs on my ipod, the count keeps getting less and less and now it will only hold 460. why is the itunes not letting me add more even though there once was room? it's very confusing i'm not sure how to explain. can someone please answer this?!!

I was away from a computer for the last few days.
How many songs do you have in your library?
When looking at the number of songs on the iPod, it will vary based on the the songs themselves.
For example a song encoded at 128kbps will be about 4 MB on average, recorded at 160 will be about 6-7 MB.
Is it the same 475 songs each time, or are you changing some of the songs?
If you restore the iPod, does that change your results?

The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.

It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

This usually means that a required component is missing. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes.

Thanks for your help Jeff. When I put serial# in, it won't except it.... I think it wants to see a previous version in my pc because my serial is for an upgrade, but when it put in a serial# for version cs5 it still wont except. Do you think i have to install cs5 first (which is also an upgrade).. which will require that I put in version cs4 etc,.etc., etc.
