The last backup could not be completed - iPhone 5 after iOS 7 upgrade

I'm using iPhone 5 & iPad with Retina Display.
iCloud backup was used for both devices.
Now everytime I try to backup manually, it says 'The last backup could not be completed.' after iOS 7 upgrade.
Auto backup isn't working, either.
I tried several things like backing up using iTunes then deleting previous backups then turnning iCloud backup again, or turning off Camera Roll in backup option , or holding the power button and home button to reset the device.
None of them worked yet.
What should I do?
I just have noticed that I cannot find iPhone 5 among the products registered with my apple ID below before I was posting.
Is it concerned with my apple ID or something? Not the devices?

since i upgraded to iphone 6 have the same issus. that includ in my Ipad - probably something happened wiht the Apple ID.
nothun is working/ and when i plug the divces to Itunes - it says that "Itunes coulnd not back up iphone/ipad an error accourd.
can someone help me?!
I deleted last backups and still nothing.
i tried to backup with another authrized computer and other network and still nothing!

I have an iphone 4, with OS 8.1.3. I receive notification to back up the cloud, connect to Wi-Fi, plug the phone in and the back up start the back up. When I check the screen says the last backup could not be completed.

It sounds like you are going through the correct steps to backup your iPhone: connecting to power and Wi-Fi.
How much space do you have left in iCloud and how much are you backing up?

Try the following steps:
Plug your iPod Touch to your Mac/PC using USB cable.
Open iTunes software and choose “backup to this computer” .
Then you need to do a sysncing.
Go to iCloud (iPod Touch: Settings > iCloud) and delete all previous backups.
Then in iTunes, Turn on “backup to iCloud” again.
On your iOS device, now you are able to backup to iCloud.

Then go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. Hi trying to back up my stuff on icloud. I can do it on the computer but it will not let me on my iphone.

Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Since 7/9/2012 my iPad has giving me a message that said "The last backup could not be completed". I've had iCloud since it come out. I have never had this problem.

I was on ios 6 beta version...then i restore my ipod to the 5.1.1, which is the latest version...now i m receiving the error in the icloud that "the last backup could not be completed"....so what i do....????

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I have a new iPad, my iCloud account is set up and verified (I wouldn't be logged in and writing this otherwise), auto backups are turned on, but it's never completed a backup. If I manually select 'Backup Now' in iCloud Settings, it times out while estimating time remaining. Strangely, today my iCloud free storage space went from 5G to 4.9G then back to 5G. Annoyingly, I'm now getting reminders that I've never backed it up! The iCloud help I followed from the forum didn't cover this error message.
