The latest version of Mavericks does not allow a Pages document to become a 'stationery pad'! Is there a way to do this this other than through the 'Get Info' window? As Pages templates cannot be ordered in folders, my many templates are effectively unusable now and I need to find another way to order and access them.
Are you aware of that you can still use Pages 09 on Mavericks? You don't have to go thru the grieves of using the crippled Pages 5. Pages 09 should bi in Applications/iWork 09 folder.

Others have commented on this too. It seems to be one of the 'improvements' of the newer version you are supposed to embrace with joy as an exciting new development. You can send feedback to Apple but realize you may be perceived as standing in the path of progress.

Is there a way of addressign text files other than through the place command?
I'm working with a large document that has multiple records - each record has 2 spreads of master pages - tha tis 1 spread and then another - so 4 master pages in all. I'm preparign individual tagged text files for each of these. I find it really onerous to have to click on teh frame and "place" each individual text fiel. Is tehre not a way to invoke/import/place a text file that doesn't involve mousing around and often clicking on teh wrong thing - thereby generatign a new frame and blowing everything to smithreeens?
AS an aside - I've drawn the followign conclusions about workign with frames on master pages: when text is asked to flow form one master spread onto anotehr - it won't work - CS4 crashes or simply doesn't flow the text correclty - I've downloaded an excellent plugin from http://www.rorohiko.com/ called text stitch - that eanble stitchign of text frames and htis seems ot work alhtough it still requires intervention of having to actualy click on teh overflow red + indicator on teh last frame of the spread generated by teh first master pages and tehn clicking on the first frame of the 2nd spread generated by the 2nd master.
Also - what gives with questions aobut tagged text - I've noticed that 4 postings about this have gone unanswered - not jsut mine but others as well?

I've been wondering that myself, but I've not had any answers for those posters. (I don't think that "Yeah, I used tagged text in Quark or PageMaker in the 90s, but these days anything that I would have wanted to do with tagged text would be easier to do with XML" would be very helpful.) -
Lightroom says that I have the latest version, but Lightroom does not recognize RAW captures from my new Panasonic DMC-GH4. When will an update for this camera be available?
The GH4 must be very new as it’s not listed in Adobe’s supported cameras, so wait until the next version of LR. Usually there is one every 3-4 months with a release-candidate available at Adobe Labs before that: http://labs.adobe.com/

The latest version of Firefox does not seem to work with Google!
When you type something in the search box, you will get presented with a list of possible choices, but Google will not actually perform the search when you press "Enter" or click "Google Search". IE 6 still appears to work fine, as does Firefox 3.6. The problem just seems to be with the latest version of Firefox. It also seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it actually does work..

As for your problem, One of your add-ons might be the culprit too. Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] with all add-ons disabled. If that solves the problem, see [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and possibly [[Troubleshooting plugins]] -
The adobe version 10 update does not allow use of tabs
I had tabs working ok on my laptop, then an adobe update to ver 10 has stopped the tabs feature working. I get all sorts of notices about this being embarrissing to Firefox and analysing the problem. But nothing is offered. Everything locks up when I try to open tabs. Seems trawling q and a that this is not a prob unique to me. Do Firefox actually moniter this feedback and offer some hope of resolution?

Flash is not available for the iPad. If Bridge Base Online requires Flash, there's nothing you can do on the iPad, unless Bridge Base Online has an app in the iTunes App Store.

I have not been able to synch Ical and Iphoto with my IPad. I've been to the Genius bar 5 times and on the phone twice to try to resolve this problem.

This is a separate issue than what you stated in the subject. Syncing recent iPhones and iPads that have iOS5 on them require iTunes 10.5, which also requires OSX 10.5.8 on your Mac. Your profile says you have 10.5.2. If that is correct, you need to update to 10.5.8, then update iTunes to 10.5, if you haven't already done so. -
After update to the latest version iTunes Match does not synchronized music.
It's still working and working and working but not complete synchronization.. Even if I add only one track iTunes Match can not synchronize it. The problem appears on the latest version of iTunes

My ipad2 freezes when i try to delete a email that has a 78mb pdf file attatched. Is there any other way to delete this file other than the email program?
If it's not MobileMe, use Safari to access the server directly and delet from there. If it is MobileMe, do the same thing but from your computer as the iPad Safari won't connect to MobileMe mail.

Like I said, I downloaded Firefox 4 and immediately noticed that it did not allow my Norton 360 Identity Safe to recall my user names and passwords. I want to know why and if that can be fixed????? I removed it completely and reinstalled the previous version I had (3.6 ??) and my Norton functions now work. What's up with that?
Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. I use the software Oracle Performance Management System (it is a platform web based pretty common in the finance dpts) for work and is impossible for me to log in using recent versions of firefox.
Every time I get an autoupdate I have to uninstall it and install the version 3.5.7.......... pretty frustrating.
If you can help me otherwise i will be constrained to change browser.If you are going to install an older version of Firefox 3.5.*, it would be best to try 3.5.13 which is the latest 3.5 version of Firefox and has the latest security fixes. This is available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

The usual suspects from Microsoft, Adobe, Wacom, Apple and Google, all of which are checked and no updates currently found.
With webpages such as <https://shop.avanquest.com/members/?company_rs=51>, PayPal and Windows Live e.g. after correct login details are entered into the online form and login is performed successfully. The "key" symbol does not appear to the left of the "awesome bar", neither does the password save pop up box and so the login details for the site cannot be saved in Firefox sync.
This is not specific to https secure sites, as I have been able to save the passwords for several https secure sites and conversely, I have been unable to save the passwords for some http non secure URLs. I have ensured that, whilst trying to enter a page or site into Firefox sync, it has the only tab open.
There does not seem to be a way of manually entering website details (URL, User Name, Password etc.) into Firefox Sync; how can I save the password details for such sites?

In the old pages you could simply copy the thumbnail and past a certain page into a different document.
The new pages does not allow you to do this.That and 95 other things it does not let you do.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder, use that instead.

Upon upgrading to Yosemite, the Pages and Numbers apps will not open (although they are the latest versions) and Keynote will not upgrade; how do I go about getting the apps to open? Is this a common issue?

Welcome to the Support Communities! When did you purchase your Mac? The first thing I would suggest is to review the information in the resource below for the Up-To-Date Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Once Yosemite is installed, you should have the option to Accept the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps in the Mac App Store Purchases pane.

this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.
