The menu bar and task bar are missing. I tried opening in safe mode like instructed but there is no firefox button and I tried opening with shift key down but it doesn't open in safe mode.

all that is showing is bookmark tabs. I can't search or open my home page. I don't have a fire fox button at the top to click on to open in safe mode.

# Maybe you are in ''Full screen'' mode. Use the '''F11''' key to enter or exit this mode.
# Press the '''Alt''' key and while keeping it pressed, press these keys: '''V T M'''. Do you see the menu bar now?

• I've downloaded Firefox 4 but there is no Firefox button (!). Instead, I have the old tool bar. Please help - thanks!!

I have the tabs, can pin apps and everything that's new (that I've tried) works, but the Firefox button really looks easy to use and I would very much like to have it. I have verified that I have v.4 by looking at the 'about Firefox' in the 'help' drop-down (which I want to get rid of - haha).
To be specific, the top left corner of my screen is currently:
Ask a Question | Firefox Help - Mozilla Firefox
File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help
TAB/TAB/TAB
Address field (in this case the support url for Mozilla/Firefox)
So there is NO Firefox button as depicted in the intro videos. The list above > File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help< is the OLD toolbar that, as I understand it, is replaced by the Firefox button. Please advise - thanks!

Sorry folks - I had the bar enabled and just had to disable it - I am a goofball !! I didn't realize it was even an option - False alarm - SORRY!!

• It's kind of hard to "set up sync" when all the instructions and suggestions say "hit the set up sync button," BUT THERE'S NO SUCH BUTTON. What's up with that?

Details? It's really simple: There's no "set up sync" button to be found in FIrefox 19 *anywhere*. And since all instructions begin with "Hit the Firefox button and then the 'set up sync' button..." it makes it kind of hard to get beyond "Hit the Firefox button"....

Just to make note, I don't think it does make any sense to remove the "Set up sync" button after sync is set up. People (such as myself) might forget that they'd set it up, and searching (in vain) for the set up button. It *would* make sense to keep the button, but if sync had already been set up, have a message pop up that tells you so. (I'm just switching to FF, and so am stumbling around; still, this is discouraging.)

• If for some reason u have the icon in your task bar (the one with 2 arrows pointing in a circle) just go into mobile me pref...click sync...and uncheck box show status in menu bar. My question is, I do not have this option. How do I get the sync to stop

"if for some reason u have the icon in your task bar (the one with 2 arrows pointing in a circle) just go into mobile me pref...click sync...and uncheck box show status in menu bar."
I do not have the option box to "show status in menu bar"
I tried the free for a little while Mobile me, and didn't use it, so cancled. I cannot get the sync status roundabout arrows out of my status bar. AND, they keep trying to sync.
Another issue related with this is that during the time that I tried out Mobile me, I had my ical alarm set to go off every 2 hours. NOW my computer has an ical pop-up every 2 hours. I cannot find how to stop it.
Another issue, Yahoo is trying to sync with my computer and I have no idea why or where that one came from.
Can anyone out there help me please.

• Bookmark list overwrites menu bar and task bar

When I open a bookmarks folder that contains a large list of bookmarks that extend up into the menu bar and down into the task bar, the menu and task bars are overwritten and remain so even after the bookmarks menu is closed. This remains until the browser is closed and reopened or I click the Windows "Show desktop" button.

Try:
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

• When taking a picture with home button and sleep button can you get rid of the tool and task bar??

When taking a picture with home and sleep button can you get rid of the tool and task bar?? (the search bars)

No, but you can use any picture editing tool to crop out the bars. (Many are free in the App Store.) Me personally, I use PhotoPad, which I use to crop as well as rotate the screen shot. Takes less than a minute to do both with PhotoPad.

• Ever since the latest update, my task bar (if it's called that - it's the one with "file, edit, view, etc") will "grey out" and I won't be able to type into any websites I visit. Only way to fix:either restart Firefox or reduce the window and open it again.

Only way I can proceed is if either restart Firefox (very annoying) or reduce the window and open it again. Please help!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
* Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click if you want to make that permanent

I solved this by clicking the 3 horizontal bars (Open Menu) at top right of screen, then clicked "Menu Bar" in the options shown. Suddenly my toolbar and task bar appeared on the screen and stayed.

• Menu and Bookmark toolbars are missing upon restart of Firefox, although they are recoverable by left clicking on remaining toolbar. V31 and Windows 7.

As question states, the menu toolbar and bookmark toolbars are missing upon restart.
Both are fully recoverable as customized, but then disappear again upon restart.

I deleted the localstore.rdf.
But, I usually run Norton's Utilities 2012 "clean disk" upon closing down computer. The problem is something Norton is doing.
Firefox is storing my configuration/profile related to showing the two toolbars in some fashion (perhaps as a temp file), that Norton is erasing it.
Norton isn't deleting the customization/uniqueness of the toolbars.
Just that they don't show upon restarting.
There is probably a way for Firefox to store this "permanently".
Thanks for the help so far. The fix may not be something Firefox can do.
