The Mysterious Case of the Vanishing Playlist Content

I recently got my MBP back from Apple repair. New logic board and reformatted hard drive. I restored all data from Time Machine, but I now find that all of my playlists are empty. The song files (all stored on an external hard drive) still exist in my library and can be played, but they have vanished from my oh-so-tastefully crafted playlists. ***? There's no way I could ever re-create that mastery.
Is there some way to restore the playlist's content using Time Machine?
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks Johannas and Kletsel for pointing me in the correct path.
It was indeed an orientation related problem.
Previously, when I made a visual check of all the articles, they all had a single orientation (portrait). But, after I read your answers, I took a peep at the online editor, and when I switched back from List view, which I'm forced to use due to the buggie scrolling behavior of the Thumbnails view with Right Edge Binding folios, to Thumbnails view, I found a disturbing behavior with the cover article that I didn't noticed before.
When I opened the Relink dialog of this article in the Folio Builder panel, it contained a garbage string in the landscape path. After I erased it the evasive folio finally showed up.
In conclusion, there are 3 issues:
1. Does anyone have any idea to the origin of the garbage string?
2. There's an unresolved editor scrolling issue with the Thumbnails view display of Right Edge Binding folios. Is it going to be fixed (soon)?
3. The orientation warning shows up only in Thumbnails view but not in the List view, and even then, you'll stumble on it only if you check both orientations.
     (1) How about adding a general orientation problem alert for both views?
     (2) In List view, it will be very helpful (at least for me) if we can have an orientation indication column with H, V, or H+V indication for the article orientation.

  • The mysterious case of the disappearing cache synchs

    hi. i'm using activemq 4 with toplink 10g for cache synching. lately i've been losing a lot of synchs. through some debugging, i discovered that the producer is producing the proper change sets but by the time it gets to the consumer, stuff goes missing. for example, in one transaction, 4 objects will be changed and the producer (RemoteCommandManager#propagateCommand) shows four objects in the change set. however by the time it gets to the consumer (RemoteCommandManager#processCommandFromRemoteConnection), not all of the objects are in the change set. however, the size (or whatever the property in the command object is) still shows 4. does anybody know what could cause this behavior?
    thanks in advance

    If you are on iOS 8.2 then update to iOS 8.3.
    If that doesn't solve the problem try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
    Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

  • The mysterious case of the missing Bootcamp partition space

    I've searched and searched, but have come up with nothing, so I hoped that one of you brilliant people could help me:
    I created a 122gb partition on my Macbook Pro using Bootcamp.
    After all was said and done, Windows installed and so on, Windows told me I had only 113gb on the partition.
    However, once back in OSX, Disk Utility told me that the partition was indeed 122gb as I had originally planned it.
    So, does anyone have any idea where those 9gb magically disappeared to? Did I do something wrong, and is there a way to fix this?
    Bootcamp is working just fine, and so is OSX (aside from the Bootcamp drive icon not showing up on the desktop anymore for some strange reason, nor the Bootcamp partition showing up as a selectable start up drive), so I'm at a loss.
    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • The mysterious case of the missing audiobooks

    In the latest version of Music for iPad (and I guess iPhone), there is no longer a link to access the audiobooks I've downloaded from iTunes over the years.
    I've searched in iBooks and other equally obscure IOS Apps, but they remain stubbornly disappeared.
    They also don't appear on my 'purchased' list. How rude.
    Where have the naughty Apple tinkerers put my Audiobooks?
    can anyone solve this conundrum?

    Your VI has 5 case structures, which one are you talking about?
    There is no while loop, please explain what you mean. Where do you want to place one?
    I don't know what a "case loop" is. Can you explain?
    Again, you have 5 buttons. Which one do you press?
    One big problem is that your Visa resource is not wired across some of the cases, thus losing it for the remainder of the code.
    Please explain what the code is supposed to do, how it should be operated, and what you expect to happen. Thanks!

    Does anyone know if the 5s uses the same cases as the 5?  Just trying to get a head start.:-}

    The 5 and the 5S have essentially the same physical configurations in termns of size, so yes, in most instances a case designed for the 5 should work on the 5s.

  • The Curious Case of the Vanishing Parameter

    G'day
    I have this <cfquery>:
    <cfquery>
    select col1, col2, col3, col4, col5
    from myTable
    where col1 in (<cfqueryparam value="#var1#"

    list="Yes">)
    and col2 = <cfqueryparam value="#var2#"
    cfsqltype="cf_sql_varchar">
    and col3 in (<cfqueryparam value="#var3#"

    and col6 = <cfqueryparam value="#var6#"
    cfsqltype="cf_sql_numeric">
    <cfquery>
    On one of our servers (sadly, the production one), this is
    erroring when
    var1 is an empty string (which is a valid situation to
    occur). Rather
    curiously, the SQL being spat out by the error message is
    this:
    select col1, col2, col3, col4, col5
    from myTable
    where col1 in () <---- note this
    and col2 = (param 1)
    and col3 in ( (param 2) )
    and col4 in ( (param 3) )
    and col5 = (param 4)
    and col6 = (param 5)
    Note how the first param is *completely gone*. The SQL should
    simply be
    passing through the empty string as the parameter, but the
    parameter
    "anchor" should still be there. Indeed this is exactly what
    happens on my
    local PC, and on our shared dev environment.
    Unfortunately the erroring server is not so easy for me to
    access due to a
    new "non-invasive" policy the client has, so it's going to be
    tricky for me
    to experiment by way of trying to work out "WTF?".
    Has anyone encountered this sort of thing, and know what I
    should be
    looking to do to sort it out?

    Cheers for the suggestion, but you misunderstand my question.
    I'm not

  • The Unusual Case of The Invisible Font.

    Strange problem with AppleCasual font. I used it not too long ago. Today I go to access it and it is not listed in the font list. So...I go into Font Book and there it is, active and listed. I make sure that there is no problem with it and validate the font. FB says "Super, no problem", so I close FB, restart and still no font. All other fonts are available, just not this one. So...I moved the font from my use folder to the library for the system. Still doesn't show up.
    I do a search from the Finder for the words "casual", "Applecasual" and it won't be found. However, I go to the fonts folder (Mac:library folder) and there it is.
    I by now assuming there is something wrong with it anyway. Go to my installation disk — font can't be found on it. Go to the Apple site and search for the font — not found.
    So I am stuck. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Ah, I see. Didn't know there was another library —
    in the System folder. I checked there and no font in
    there but found other components including Ink.
    I don't think you understood the notation being used. You might want to learn how it works, in case you face a similar issue in the future:
    System/Library/Components/Ink.component/Contents/SharedSupport/InkServer.app/Con tents/Resources/Apple Casual.dfont
    Means that the actions you take are the following: Open System Folder, Open Components Folder, Open Ink.component folder, Open Contents Folder, Open SharedSupport Folder, Do Control + Click on InkServer.app and select "show package contents", Open Contents folder, Open Resources folder, find Apple Casual.dfont.
