The peers of xMII

Hi All,
I worked with few automation/scada tools like wonderware, and heard about plc softwares like intellution, dianlogs etc.
Is xMII meant to replace such scada softwares in shopfloors.
I mean which are the softwares/tools that are currently used by shopfloors that can be replaced by using xMII.
I need these provide these details to a client who would like to go for xMII after understanding its advantages.
Thanks in advance.

  • A connection was abortively closed after one of the peers sent an rst packet

    Hello,
i have a dvr on netwoek that is wok fine. i tried to publish it over internet.
i have tmg with two wan connections(load Balancing) and two internal networks.
i create a server application rule and and but dvr protcols on it.
when i try to open it from outside it's not working. on tmg log it's give me this error:
A connection was closed because no SYN/ACK reply was received from the server.
also with others dvr i get this error:
a connection was abortively closed after one of the peers sent an rst packet
i tired to read all post on forums but i didn't get a solution for it.
please not that the network rule from internal to external is route and the publish rule is set to make the request is from local host.
    so whats the problem?
    thanks.

    Hi,
Thank you for your post here.
As far as i know, if you would like to publish server located in internal, you need to set the relationship between internal and external as NAT.

  • Need to Upload the image into XMII server from a desktop

    Hi,
Can anyone let me know how to upload the image from my laptop on to the server which i should be using in my pages. I tried using Image Loader and Image Saver. But it lead me no where. Is there a detailed documentation for this ?
Thanks for your help in Advance.
    Regards,
    Deepthi lakshmi.A.

    Hi Deepti,
Could you give some details on what you are trying to achieve.
Is this a use case scenario where images need to be uploaded by a handful of people using some web UI?
    or
Is this a use case scenario where you wish to upload images from the harddrive of absolutely any user?
The reason for my questions is as follows.
If you wish to allow some high-level (technically savvy) users the ability to upload images to be shown in dynamic content for remainder of the public, you could, in theory, set up a network directory that xMII is able to see.  These High-Level users could drop their images in the folder and specify the path in a text box.
You could go one step further and use Get Folder List action from within an Xacute transaction and display the list of images in this folder on a web UI.  Users could pick the image from the list and "Bob's your Uncle!".
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Jai.

  • Update ABAP Report in SAP R/3 with data from xMII

    Hi Experts,
How do we update some PP reports in SAP R/3 from xMII .
We have sucessfully got all the data from the historians in the plant and also established connection between SAP R/3 and xMII.
    1. We also need to store the data passed in SAP R/3 in a Z-table and fetch data from there.
    2. How the BLS in xMII can be called from SAP R/3 to update the table.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    [Vivek K|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/profile.jspa?userID=2097685]

    Vivek,
You can very well do this using a remote enabled function module.  For this,
    1) Write a function module which takes input (tag name & value) and inserts in z table.
    2) Set it remote enabled.
    3) Define your SAP server under data services - > SAP Server Configurations.
    3) Write a BLS transaction which calls this RFC using SAP JCO action. Here you can use the configuration that you defined in earlier step. Set the input parameters.
    4) Execute the transaction and you can put an external breakpoint in your RFC for debugging.
I think when you said you are getting data xacute query, even that will execute such kind of BLS transaction.
    Mike.

  • Graphs from xMII to SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7

    Hi Experts,
We are having an requirement to display a graph from xMII to SAP R/3.
The graph is based on the data collected from the historians.
Is it possible to display the graph in SAP R/3 through some RFC ?
Else, Can we pass on all the data from xMII to a z-table in SAP R/3 and generate graphs ?
Please let me know your suggestions.
    Regards,

There is a GUI control for displaying web pages within SAPGUI. Sorry, I can't recall the object

  • Upgrade JAXP 1.2 to JAXP 1.3 in SAP xMII

    Hi All,
I need a favour regarding JAXP (Java API for XML Processing).
I am currently using SAP xMII 11.5 it uses both DOM as well as SAX parser to parse the xml. Also it uses JAXP to talk with DOM and SAX.
Now the issue is it uses JAXP 1.2 which is not handling big xml. It makes a performance issue when the size of the xml is large.
So I need to upgrade the JAXP in xMII system.
    Also I am using J2SE 1.4.2.
So I can’t use JAXP 1.4 or more as it is not compatible with J2SE 1.4.2. JAXP1.4 uses J2SE 5.0 or more.
I cant upgrade Java version rather I can upgrade from JAXP 1.2 to JAXP 1.3 or some other but lower than JAXP 1.3 & it should be compatible with J2SE 1.4.2 & windows.
Now the need is to how to implement JAXP 1.3 in an existing system which is already using JAXP 1.2
    Thanks,
    Murugappan.

    Mark:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You can try using Pacifist to extract Safari from your install disk and install it. You may then be able to upgrade it more easily, although I can't promise that for sure.
Unless you are absolutely wedded to Safari, I find Camino to be at least as good (I think better) as Safari, and looks almost identical, so that there should not be much of a learning curve. I also use Firefox and especially like it for the measure of security it provides.
Please do not hesitate to post back with further questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • Download Documents from DMS in xMII

    Hi,
I need to download some documents from SAP which are maintained in DMS.
I know there are some BAPIs like BAPI_DOCUMENT*  and I know how to use them in ABAP , ITS and webapplication server.
But I am not able to think of how to do it in xMII.
Can some one share the details.
    Thanks,
    Amara.

    Sam,
I modified my transaction in order to save what exactly I am getting from SAP to xMII using an image saver action block to some folder with xxxx.xls file name.
Just because of my curiosity I double clicked on the file that is just created by our transaction. It opened <b>PERFECTLY WELL</b> in MS Excel.
So your question about asking to post garbled data clarified one of the two questions I have. Is the data getting corrupted while transmitted from SAP to xMII or is the data getting corrupted while transmitted from xMII to browser.
From the above modification to transaction of saving the file to a folder and opening it in MS Excel confirmed that the data is not getting corrupted while transmitting it from SAP to xMII. From now on we have only one thing to deal with i.e. that the data from xMII to Browser.
To confirm this, I created a test transaction with only one action block with ImageLoader and in the outgoing parameters I assigned imagedata property to transaction output property FILE. and I accessed it from browser using the below URL http://xxxx/Lighthammer/Runner?OutputParameter=FILE&Transaction=TEST_DOC_TRAN&content-type=application/x-msexcel . In this case also it is showing garbled data. Just to save you time I have send you transaction and test XLS file can be of any XLS file. Just to let you know that I have configured imageloader to load file from c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ directory.
Let me know if I need to provide more info.
    Thanks in advance.
    Srinivas.

  • How to distinguish the right address to use

We're making a P2P application for audio streaming. It's working, but we have this problem - if one would enter 'localhost' for the server address (because server is indeed on the local machine), this would register that peer by the address value of 127.0.0.1. If for server address a LAN address was entered, this peer would be registered by it's LAN address as well, so noone outside the LAN could address it in order to download music from it. In previous case, with 127.0.0.1, all peers that atempt to get a file from that problematic one would actually try to get the file from themselves (as they would see the target peer's address as '127.0.0.1').
I believe you see my problem here...
Is there a better solution that to ask the client which address they wish to use of all available (global or local)? I could also tell the client that if they specify a LAN address, the program would work in LAN only, and with the loopback the prog would function in a test mode on a local machine only, but I hope someone will come up with a more elegant solution...

...I'm not sure I got you... and I'm not sure you got me.
Accessing the global server is no problem, nor is accessing some other peer... The only problem is when you enter LAN address for global server address, because the server will then put in it's base something like: file "example.mp3" can be found on the address "your LAN address" instead of: file "example.mp3 can be found on the address "your global public IP". So, when anyone tries to get example.mp3 he will search for it on "your LAN address" (and get an error) instead of "your global public IP". Similar thing with 127.0.0.1 for server address.
This does not happen when you enter server's global IP. The data still runs through LAN but the address will be stored properly.
I get the address by socket.getInetAddress(). So, when the peer says the server is on 127.0.0.1, the server resolvers peer's address as 127.0.0.1. Apparently, no problem occurs if the server runs on a separate machine (not within same LAN) from any of the peers.
Sorry if you'd got what I'm saying from the beginning and my rambling was redundant...

  • DLSw problem whith two connection to the host

    Hello every one,
My name's Mostafa CHAKIR,I am a technical ingeneer in the CBI Networks Morocco.
We have a dual connection to a IBM Host via two 7206 routers called CPA1 and CPA2 in the central site.
In the remote site we have a 2610 routers connected with Public Frame-Relay, and anohter link with ISDN as backup.
Two peers dlsw from the remote site are configured, the first with CPA2 and its backup with CPA1 ( as you will see in the configuration).
when the link go down (FR), the peers stay in stat connected in both site until there is a SNA trafic, and the ddr is made from the remote site.
The problem is when the two link go down, the Host always see that the remote site is connected, the router CPA2 don't breack the circuit, and when the ISDN link come UP first, it open a circuit with a CPA1 even if the CPA2 is active, the HOST don't accept the second circuit cause it says that there is another circuit opened in the CPA2 with the same IDNum IDBlock. I tried to resolve that with the "dlsw timer sna-cahe-timeout" command but it have no effect.
i search some solution to this problem.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your response.
If i remove the keepalive 0 from the configuration of the remote site's router, the ddr will be made immediately after the primary link goes down (FR), it will stay active all time, because the dlsw is the intersting trafic for the ddr :access-

  • IPSEC crypto peers using non-standard ports

    Hello,
I have a remote site that is using port 4500 for within the isakmp phase of creating a IPSEC tunnel, but for some reason it is also using random port numbers constantly (in bold):
    BEVRLY_D_CR184_01#sh crypto isa peer
    Peer: x.x.x.x Port: 4500 Local: x.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: x.x.x.x Port: 10456 Local: x.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: x.x.x.x Port: 10554 Local: x.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: x.x.x.x Port: 10557 Local: x.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: x.x.x.x Port: 10580 Local: x.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
These are all blocked by the firewall when trying to communicate with our central router in the trusted network. The central router does not display the same symptoms, it only uses port 4500.
Is there a way of preventing the remote router from using random port numbers and only allowed to use 4500??
    Thanks

Yes - there's NAT at the trusted central router end our side of the firewall... the config used is below:

  • Isakmp peers using non-standard port 4500

    Hello,
I have a remote site using the Internet to access corporate networks over IPSEC. Set-up is as below:
Remote Router uses public IP across internet --> hits corporate untrusted nework FW --> NAT'ed to private 10.x.x.x IP --> reaches trusted network router.
The problem is that the peer keeps hanging and the only way to reset it is to issue 'clear crypto session' on the central trusted router. I have added isakmp keepalives with the aim of forcing some keepalive traffic:
crypto isakmp keepalive 90 30 periodic
...and this works to some degree (with DPD are u there keepalives). However I have noticed that the far end router uses non-standard ports when trying to set up phase-1 tunnel:
    BEVRLY_D_CR184_01#sh crypto isa pee
    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 4500 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92

    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10554 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10557 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10580 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10589 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10596 Local: 77.x.x.x

    Peer: 161.x.x.x Port: 10600 Local: 77.x.x.x
    Phase1 id: 10.2.0.92
These ports (non-4500) will be blocked by our firewalls. Why does it use these, and is there a way of stopping the router using anything other than port 4500?

  • XMII - How to include custom transactions into services.... ?

    Hello XMII Gurus:
We have done some customization in XMii to develop custom transactions. Now the dilemma is how to give end users access to these new transactions. Working with the developers I see that you can have URLs associated with these transactions, but I am looking for a way to associate a transaction with a service, so that it can be included in a security role, which in turn can be assigned to a user.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    KT

    Jamie:
I have a custom URL transaction in place, works fine with a USER-ID which has the SAP delivered XMII Developer security role assigned. What I am trying to figure out is the service within the XMII Developer role which makes this possible.
For this, I made a custom role in UME and assigned it all the services which were under the developer role, and to my surprise it didn't work. I have also taken care of the reader/writer role assignment to transaction through the workbench.
Do you know why this is happening, am I missing something here?

  • XMII and RS-232 communication

As most of us are aware xMII does not support RS-232 communication. Recently some customers have come up with requirements of interfacing weigh scales to SAP.
Most of these weigh scales have only the RS-232 interfacing option. (I am not sure if these could be OPC compliant as well.. Some higher and expensive ones come with a software version which I guess can be configured to write a file or some come even with a Database Option.)
With xMII 12 would it be possible, lets say, to write a custom action 'RS-232 Listner' which could allow this to happen?
What are SAP's thoughts on this?

Yes, this is a common request.  I think in part because sometimes customers get the impression that xMII can do this from the "sales force" and can do it "easily".
We had some luck with this in the past.
Sometimes what we have seen in the past, is that the rs-232 devices have a transmit or send button that sends a signal back to a pc that the device is attached to.  If you use an application like WinWedge that takes the signal from the device and decodes it to text, it can be used to get the information.  WinWedge typically comes with handheld USB or Serial barcode scanners.  It's main purpose is to take the signal from the device and "pop" it into the active window's cursor location.  So if you scan a barcode with Word open and active, the barcode scanner sends the signal to WinWedge on the PC, WinWedge translates the signal to text and throws in at the cursor location.
If your cursor is in an HTML form input box, and you can capture the data as descibed above, now you can use the data via Javascript and pass it to an applet on the page.

  • Career Prospects in SAP xMII

    Hi All,
I want few suggestions from you guys. I am basically a Java Professional. I have 2 years experience in Java, and now, I have been working in SAP xMII for only 1 n half months. I find xMII very interesting. Can anybody please tell me about the career prospects in xMII? I am thinking of proceeding in this line. Do you people find this as a sensible decision? If yes, then how should I proceed? Any kind of suggestion or information regarding this is most welcome.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Lipsa.

I agree with Ryan - I see lots of demand for xMII skills, and the product is pushed considerably by SAP - I see a reference to xMII in every second SAP PowerPoint presentation (ok, maybe that's a slight exaggeration...)
I also think that some knowledge/proficiency in the technologies surrounding xMII will be very useful. Some examples of this in the SAP space could include XI/PI, Enterprise Portal, ERP, CAF, Visual Composer, etc. Some understanding of MES concepts and products would also be useful.
In my opinion, a broad knowledge of the above would help since xMII is an integration product and thus has touch points to a variety of other (non-SAP) systems...
But I guess a lot depends on how xMII is implemented...

  • Am I allowed to make a commercial game? What if I keep the game in beta phase? :)

    Hello,
    My question:
Am I allowed to use Cirrus with a commercial game?
Am I allowed to use Cirrus with a commercial game if I stay in beta phase?
    My fun theory:
I've always been a fan of p2p.  I think we haven't entered the golden age of P2P games yet.
People always look at P2P as "Oh, I'll save on server costs"
Here is a really neet trick though:
If you packet shape a melee game, you can do things like "Update distant players less often", which means you can have more players overall.
Theory goes like this: If a player is 20 seconds away from you even if you both head towards each other, then you only have to send data once every 19 seconds or so.  If you have an action game which needs 50ms pings, you can save those for players really close.  I've done the math on this stuff, if you have a melee game, and everyone has 640k upload, you can handle like 5000 players at once.  Imagine Tekken with 5000 players at the same time...
    Another fun theory:
I believe you can simulate a server node on Cirrus.  Designate a certain IP in your peers that is the server.  The server itself is a peer, but peers will send it requests occassionally(login, request friends, request inventory, etc).  The peers will know which one is the server because they're hardcoded with the correct IP
    Even better:
For debugging purposes you do not need a computer with a static IP, just create a peer that will respond to a certain code and identify itself as a server.  Everyone knows this is easy to hack(decompile .swf and say it is a server), but you don't normally attract hackers in your first few people playing your game who are out to help you
    My goal:
I plan on making a server node which looks and feels similar to classic Battle.net or IRC if you will.  You find/chat with people.  Then you form a party and play.  Or perhaps you simply click: Join Autogroup.  It will have login/password creation, and maybe password recovery once I link in a SMTP server to AS3.  I think if you have registration + login, you're set...  Actually maybe I'll just integrate with Facebook and let them deal with logins and stuff.

You dont have to download anything, just duplicate the current tab and reset your numbers. (tap the tab once and you get a choice of duplicate or delete.) You could then summarize across tabs if you liked.
It is just set up as a way of tracking a period, your choice of duration.
I get paid on the 1st and 15th, with distinct budgeting concerns for both periods (times are tight.). So we would do one for each two weeks to see how we did. Maybe double the budget numbers to get monthly numbers on another tab to track that month. Maybe then  copy paste that data into a YTD tab at the end of the month.
Whole bunch of ways to handle it. You dont have to stick with month by month tabs or files. Using some creative thinking, You can make it so on the YTD tab you type in a month or quarter and it shows that information through equations.
