The "Roman" font is not being recognized in Firefox 4.0. As such, I cannot read any previously posted topics or post any new topics on websites using this font.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Tried resetting the iPod, now its not being recognized by compuer

You need to, in windows, goto start button>all programs>ipod>ipod updater Once opened, connect the ipod and restore it, restoring wipes the ipod clean and you use iTUnes to load it back up. More on restore can be read here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983

Just got my nano and although it worked the first time I plugged it in to my laptop, it now can not be recognized by Windows, it is completely dead and will not charge at all...anyone else having this issue?

Cannot compile form.. the PLL's are not being recognized

I'm in the Oracle Forms tool and have a form that I'm trying to compile. The PLL's are in the same directory. I get lots of error messages saying it cannot find the functions within the libraries. I've got around some of this by copying the funcitons I need under the program units in the form but I should need to do this. The compiler should find the functions in the PLL's.

You have to attach the plls to your form.
For this click in the navigator on the Attached Libraries node.
Click add (green {color:green}*+*{color} button in the left toolbar).
Click browse and search for your first pll in the open dialog.
Click Attach and then click Yes in the Remove path dialog.
Repeat the above steps until all plls you need are attached.
may first remove the copied program units from the form.
Then press ctrl-shift-k to compile all pl/sql in your form and check for errors.

IPod Shuffle not being recognized by my PC

Hi, I just bought 2 Apple iPod Shuffles from eBay. I have a slight problem. When I plug them into my USB port, iTunes does not recognize them. They show up in My Computer though. When I try to re-install/reset the factory settings it says "Plug in a device" or something like that. My guess is that I bought them from a Mac user.
My question is: How might I go about converting it from Mac to Windows?

I have a similar problem, my iPod Shuffle is being read in my Windows 2000 but in the iTunes it's not being recognized.
When I try to play the iPod, the green and orange lights blink simultaneously.
When I try and double-click on the icon for it in My Computer, it's saying that it can't be accessed because of an I/O device error.
Finally, I come to the site and get the latest update and when I try to update, it's saying that there's an iPod service error.
Hope that generalizes everything of what I'm saying and similar to Niko's problem as well.

Entourage 2008 not being recognized as installed after migration to new iMac Mountain Lion.

I;ve been browsing for answers to my problems for 2 days now. Office 2008 is not being recognized as installed on my machine. i have 2011 but i prefer Entourage as my defailt email client.
What happens: when i try to access Entourage i get a getting started window asking me to either register my product or learn more. when i try installing the update 12.3.6 for Office 2008 it tells me it cannot be installed because the software componenet necessary for installation is not found on the disc. from this I gather the actual Office is not being recognized as installed.
What I tried so far: I did all that was suggested on forums, such as checking to see if the MS office 2008 is in Applications, nothing was changed like the name of software or location of any of its components, tried getting the latest updates for the MS office 2008, tried installing on another user, none of these worked.
I am still to try reinstalling but the disc i have is an upgrade from 2004 which will prob not work in this case, since anyway I understand that .dmg is not supported anymore.
What can I do? anything that doesn't require me to use 2011, i do not like the Outlook in 2011. is there a way to activate my install of 2008 and use that? i really like Entourage, Outlook doesn't satisfy me.

Reference your first post - I download and use dmg files, so either I'm lucky or they are supported.
I would try the disk reinstall since at this point there doesn't seem to be many options.
Do you have a backup? You could restore the Microsoft Office 2008 folder.

Scanner is not being recognized since I upgraded to OS X 10.9

My scanner on my Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690MF is not being recognized via image capture since I upgraded to OS X 10.9 - anyone have a fix for that? If I knew this was going to be the case I would never have upgraded!

SD Card not being recognized by ZTE Open (Firefox OS 1.0)

The SD card is not being recognized by my ZTE Open (Firefox OS version 1.0). I tried taking it out, putting it back in and it still does not work. The SD card is brand new and works in all other devices. I only got the phone and the SD card today so I don't know if it is a hardware issue or if it is a issue with Firefox OS 1.0.

#Take the back cover of the phone off.
#Take the battery out.
#Take the SIM card and microSD card out (if applicable).
#Wait 10 seconds.
#Put the SIM card and microSD card back in (if applicable).
#Put the battery back in.
#Put the back cover back on.
#Turn the device on.
#Check if the issue you were having is still present.

X-Fi not being recogni

I bought an X-Fi yesterday with a 5. speaker set up, only the X-Fi is not being recognized. it is an X-Fi Xtreme music, i put it in my PCI slot, space away from my graphics card, and it is connected to the power supply in a 4 pronged slot. It is not showing up at all, i have disabled the onboard sound in bios, and tried disabling the 934 slot or whatever, and no luck. when i try to install the firmware/drivers for the card, It says no unrecognized products.Message Edited by popshuvit3 on 0-30-2005 0:46 PM

Well my board only has a total of 2 PCI slots, below a PCI-e slot that is occupied by my x700 graphics card. It says in the manual and on the knowledge base to keep it one slot away from the graphics card so both can get enough ventilation. The slot in between the 2 is open by the way. Im going to call creative labs today to see what they have to say.
I just think its weird because the first time i installed it i didnt connect it to the PSU. I placed it in the slot away from the graphics card, like the manual says. I powered up my computer, and waited 5 min for it to be recognized, because usually plug and play is immediate. Then i decided to just try to install the X-Fi drivers, and then it comes up with this screen saying "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system.Please ensure your product is properly installed before running this setup program. Solved the problem. I had to allow cookies for safari and it run - as here: Re: itunes keeps asking for my apple id password. it's NOT entered incorrectly.

My iPod is stuck on the Apple logo and won't do anything! It won't turn on, doesn't give me the option to power it off, and to top it all off, it's not being recognized by my computer OR by iTunes when I plug it into my computer.

So yeah...last night I was checking out my iPod (bored at the in-laws) and all of a sudden the screen went blank and the only thing I can get it to do is have the black screen w/ the white apple logo on it. I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.
