The search feature in messages does not seem to work with pre IOS 7 messages

After updating to IOS 7 the search feature in the Messages app does not seem to work with messages received prior to the update. Texts received since the IOS 7 update search correctly. Is this a bug or a feature of moving to iMessages rather than just receiving standard texts?

As for your problem, One of your add-ons might be the culprit too. Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] with all add-ons disabled. If that solves the problem, see [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and possibly [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

The latest version of Firefox does not seem to work with Google!

When you type something in the search box, you will get presented with a list of possible choices, but Google will not actually perform the search when you press "Enter" or click "Google Search". IE 6 still appears to work fine, as does Firefox 3.6. The problem just seems to be with the latest version of Firefox. It also seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it actually does work..

I used to be able to refresh a page by hitting the F5 key. That does not seem to work anymore. Is there a keyboard shortcut for refresh, or can I create one?

Click the Refresh button on the right hand side of the location bar container on the Navigation Toolbar or press "Ctrl + R" or F5 to reload a web page.

I transfered to firefox for the autocorrect feature and it does not seem to be workink

I transferred to Firefox to have auto correct on my Facebook and it does not work there. Am I incorrect for thinking that it included my Facebook page.

Messages Text Invitation Alert does not seem to work with AIM account

Back in the days of iChat - I had a Text Invitation Alert setup to play a sound and repeat that sound. This way if I was away from my computer, it would keep making noise until I accepted/declined the IM.
Now I upgraded to Mountain Lion and am using Messages which replaced iChat. The only account that I have is an AOL Instant Messager (AIM) account. During the upgrade, it kept my setting of a Text Invitation Alert set to repeat.
A couple of things that I notice - when I closed an iChat conversation, that was the end of the conversation and a message from someone after that point was treated like a new Text Invitation. With Messages - I actually have to 'delete the conversation' as all of my conversations are in the same application window.
Here is where the problem comes in... having NO active conversations (i.e. nothing is shown on the right side of the Messages window except 'No Conversations') and having the application closed but my status set to Available - it does NOT play the Alert sound, only bounces the dock icon once.
Having NO active conversations but the application running in the background it performs as expected.
With iChat, a text invitation was treated the same way if the application was closed or if it was running in the background.
Since my default is to have the application closed (with my status as Available), I am looking for Messages to provide the same functionality with regards to Alerts.

Your pop account won't work with iCloud, it's the alternate me address you get when you create an iCloud account that works with iCloud. Outlook won't work with iCloud either, you need to use Address Book, iCal etc etc.

The Benefit Plan in the latest OPA release does not seem to work with Siebe

I've installed the latest version of OPA (10.0.1.14.0) and it came with a Benefit Plan example. The Income Thresholds.xls and Interpretative.dox are missing so it can not be compiled.
Also the OPA Connector Developer Help has a section for this tutorial which explains how to use the Benefit Plan example in Siebel. However I cannot see how by clicking the 'Eligibility' button on HLS Case Form Applet, it is going to call OPA to run the Benefit rules.
Can someone please explain how to get this example working with OPA?
I understand that from Siebel you need to call the 'Policy Automation Assess Workflow' to pass in the relevant data to OPA, but I don't understand how this workflow is being called in the Benefit Plan example? The 'Eligibility' button called a method 'CreateBenefitPlan' which is a user property on 'HLS Case' BC and all it does is a RefreshRecord. So I can't see exactly what is being done behind.

It should be mad clearer in the help but this example is reliant on the Siebel 8.2 public sector version.

I bought the HP Envy 100 printer with my new Macbook Pro 13" and it does not seem to work with Lion. Any suggestions?

HP (and Apple?) need to fess up and tell all the people who have HP printers when they will "just work" with their machines and OS X Lion.... because for many of us, they just don't! It isn't rocket science guys.... blithely telling us that downloading S/W updates from Apple doesn't help.... because they don't solve the problems!

Adobe reader 9.1.1 script - does not seem to work with Xp Sp3 - help

I have done a script to install Adobe reader 9.1.1 and if version 9 is installed, then it installs the patch.

Works fine on all XP Sp2 machines. XP Sp3 machines its failing. Either the batch file script just vanishes or freezes and nothing gets installed.
Any ideas?

I tried the script it seems easy enough but. It says my Adobe Reader version is at 9.1.1 but when I go into add/remove programs the 9.1.1 update is not in there for me to add or remove. When I click the .msp file and install it, it appeared in the add/remove programs section in control panal. If the program says its updated, is it really updated if its not in add/remove programs?

Dashland plug in does not seem to work with my mac using version 33.1

I've followed instructions on uninstalling and then reinstalling the dashland plug in of my Mac using version 33.1. I just upgraded to 33.1 and Dashland is not working at all. Is there a workaround? Could I use the older version 33.0 until there is a bug fix with Dashland?

When I purchased my computer I installed office for mac so I susally used outlook with no problems. My original apple id is the same as my pop server based e-mail account. I had an old me.com account but never used it. When I set up i cloud on my macbook I could not get my email to download to the cloud. My calendars, contacts and everything else works. At one of the Mac stores a salesman told me I needed to re route my e-mail to a Google Account, which I did but still no icloud mail. I now have my original pop mail account , the google account ,i cloud and I still can't get i cloud to work with my office for mac outlook. HELP I want one account that uses the cloud How do I make this happen?

Mac Book Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 does not seem to work with Adobe Premiere CC 2014

So I have just spent brought the latest mac book 15 inch pro with Nvida, and rendering some screen recording I originally captured in quicktime with a few backgrounds crashes adobe cc, it takes about 4 min, I can hear my mac getting hot, and says a serious issue has occurred and it needs to quit??? I also have FCP and the same footage renders in 2 min and finishes without any issues.
If I change it to software mode still gets crazy hot and after 40min had only got to 40% completed, so that is not a viable option
This seems to be a common topic on the forum without any solutions. here is my error report. Any ideas???

IPod Touch 4G with 4.3.1 iOS update does NOT seem to work with WEP

I have a new wireless router (1 month old) with current firmware that I have set up with WEP (I know, not great but also have some older laptops that need it). Before the iPod iOS update, everything worked reliably all the time, but after the update "Unable to join the network XXXXXXXX" message was displayed. Post update, iPod works fine on other "public" networks.
So far the only workable solution I have been able to come up with is adding a 2nd unsecured SSID (router will support up to 4) with no broadcast and access limited to the iPod MAC address. If any of the WiFi experts here have other suggestions, I would sure welcome them. Thanks.

WEP and Apple products are only somewhat compatible - as you are finding out. If you create your own passwords, then you have to follow specific rules - 48 bit, 5 characters, 128 bit, 14 characters. Shorter or longer, the password won't work.
If you are stuck with WEP (I'd update the laptops with a USB wireless stick before I used WEP, but that's your decision) try the following:
1. Use the 128 bit setting
2. Either create a 14 character password or use WEP key 1 (that's the hex key) in place of your password on the touch.
You could set up a second wireless access point and, as long as it used a different SSID, setup to run WPA2-AES encryption. That would take care of your modern devices.
