The sound on me ipad randomly shuts off, there are no specific warnings or the lot, it just shuts down then randomly starts up again. What's the problem? And please let me know if other owners are experiencing the same troubles...

I'm a new user of these apple forums so I don't really know how stuff works, bur here's my question
Recently, the sound on my iPad Air randomly shuts down, (os 7.1 downloaded) then it randomly pops up again. Sounds in the videos of photo gallery still works, as well as the videos on the internet (browser: chrome), and videis on Facebook too, but sounds like key board clicks, lock sounds, and games from the App Store store stop working... Please help, and I would also like to know if there are any other owners out there who face the same problem...

There are a number of possible approaches to your issue. At first I thought it may be that your logic board was going out. The it sounded as if you needed to Reset the PMU. Finally, who talked about slapping it around and getting results, it sounds like it may be a loose display cable or something of that sort. Since you are completely new to Macs your best bet would be to go online and make an appointment at the Genius Bar in your local Apple Store. It costs nothing. They will look over your computer and give you an idea of what is wrong and what it will cost to rectify it.
Meanwhile, to help to identify your computer more closely, while the computer is booted go to Apple Menu > About this Mac. That will tell you the OS you have installed, the Processor speed and the computer you have. Please report this info back with you response.

A reset may help. Push and hold the Home button and the Sleep/On/Off button at the same time for approximately 15 seconds (until the Apple logo appears). Ignore the slide to turn off indicator. Allow to restart as normal.

Why does my iPad 1 shut down then reboot by itself?
We have a first gen iPad that suddenly has begun shutting down by itself, then rebooting. Of course, it's just out of warranty (by 2 months). I've read some posts that suggest it is battery related, others that it is related to software. Any help from the experts out there would be great!

I really doubt it is battery related, as batteries usually last a few years, however in some rare occasions there could be some form of fault.
It sounds like maybe there are some dodgy connections inside the device, which only a repair can solve.
Try restoring your iPad in iTunes - Plug the device in, and click restore under the summary tab.
If this doesn't help, I reccomend heading to an Apple Store and booking a genius appointment - these are free even if you have no warentee. Here they can discuss options with you, and will offer you a discounted replacement price. As your warentee ran out so shortly before the problem arose, they may be able to offer an exemption, ask nicely!

It has also gotten rid of the "personal hotspot" option. How do I get that back?

Hello, I have a question regarding the sharing on iMovie. I have just recently purchased an Elgato Gaming Capture HD and I then finished my recording with that and put it into imovie. I worked long and hard on the project and when I go click the share feature on iMovie all the noral options pop up and when I actually click where I want to share it to nothing at all happens. This seems very frustrating. An iPad can shut down randomally for many reasons, just like a computer can crash. If it begins to happen regularly, then do contact Apple, but there are no signs that your iPad is malfunctioning from just one shut down like this.
But, you should be able to get all your in-app purchases back. In some apps, there is a 'restore purchases' button, which will download all the purchases you made for free.
In some cases, you can tap to make the purchase again, and it will be downloaded at no charge, however this does not happen with consumable items such as coins and credits.
I reccomend contacting iTunes Store Support at the link below, they will take a closer look at your purchases and give you further steps on redeeming them. They may also refund you if they have been lost.

You can also contact the developer of the app, and report the crash and missing purchases. If you tell me the app, I'll give you the relevent contact in the developers.

I have ipad mini 32gb. I updated to IOS 7.1.2. Since then ipad keeps shutting down and rebooting to the apple logo. It happens so many times I cannot use the ipad. I have tried factory reset and reinstalled software in recovery mode. Ipad is only 1 1/2 years old and in great condition. Is there anything else I can do besides soend $200 to fix it?
Sounds like a hardware issue to me going by the CRC error you mentioned. I'd make a Genius Bar reservation (you'll need your Apple ID) if you have a nearby Apple Store and get it evaluated. The evaluation is free but repair/replacement could incur other charges.
