The time on my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) keeps changing

I live in Columbus, OH, so the time on my iPod Touch should be 1:19 am (as of right now.) The time was fine before, but one day I noticed that it was an hour late. So I went to setting>general>date&time on my ipod touch to change it. The time zone said New York, so I switched it back to Columbus, OH. I then set the time back one hour to the correct time. But ever since then, the time zone and time go right back to New York, and the time is one hour ahead. Either I plug it into the computer and it changes (the computer has the right time), or when I open an application on my iPod Touch, the time changes back. And when I cut it off, it does this. Why won't the correct time stay?

So just today I was going to check the time on my iPod Touch 4th Gen, and I noticed that the lock button was not functioning, on closer inspection, it appeared as it had just gotten stuck in the pushed position.

This afternoon I was doing things and needed to check the time, I pressed the lock button so it would show the time, but the button would not press. I looked closly and saw the button was stuck as if it was pushed and didn't come back out. I CANNOT lock my iPod using the button.

-4th gen. iPod touch
-Small dent near lock button
-32GB
-2 Years old.

How can I improve the performance of my iPod touch 2nd gen?

It is very slow!

- All you can do is reset the iPod,. Nothing is lost.

The button on the top of my iPod touch 2nd gen isn't working, is there any way i could fix this?

when trying to switch off my ipod or auto lock it, it does not work so i have to wait for the back light to go off for it to be able to lock. there is also no other way that i am able to switch my ipod off. is there anyway i would be able to fix this problem myself or not? thanks

Probably nothing. Apple doesn't support the iPod Touch 2G anymore. My display is cracked, and i'm thinking of replacing it myself. You can also do that with lock button. Just google it, and you'll probably find how to do it.

Why does my ipod touch (2nd gen) keep crashing?

I have had it for about 3 years now. I have the latest version i can possibly update to...
Over the past few months, it has been giving me a fit. Its seems like it has gotten worse...it crashes no matter what app i go to (except a few built in apps that are not very busy, like calculator). Sometimes I may be able to be on an app for 10 minutes without crashing, while other apps wont even let me get to a menu before it crashes. Even some built in apps like safari does it. I'm not sure what to do. Is this normal for the latest version a 2nd gen ipod touch can get? What can I do about this?

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar

CAUTION
Before you restore the iPod make sure that your iTunes library has the version of apps that are presently installed on your iPod. Many apps have been update and the update apps are not compatible with the 2G iPod. I would do that by deleting the apps from your iTunes library and then transfer them to iTunes. See:

Why is my wifi on my ipod touch 2nd gen not working?

Can someone help with the wifi on my ipod touch 2nd Gen? Yesterday it suddenly stopped connecting to anything wifi. No settings were changed. The only thing I did was go to itunes for the first time in well, forever. I always use it on my computer to go in itunes, not my ipod. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I could still get on Safari after that but I don't really remember. At some point in the evening it stopped connecting. I can't get on Safari, my mail won't refresh, it would connect to the app store, nothing. Sometimes a message does pop up saying there was a problem connecting to the server. I can't figure this out, internet on my computer is running perfectly fine. My ipod wifi is on, airplane mode off. When I go into my settings it shows my network and that it's connected. I haven't connected it or synced it to the new itunes. I actually haven't downloaded the update yet. Ipod is up to date though without the new sync. Can anyone help me out? I'm very confused.

Video out on iPod touch 2nd Gen - with dock?

So apparently you can watch videos on your tv if you buy the universal dock for iPod touch 2nd Gen?
How does it work and do you get RCA cables with the dock or do you need to purchase them separately?
Does the dock come with the USB cable or is that a separate purchase as well?

Try plugging your ipod into your computer. Then start up itunes. Let it load everything. Then click on your ipod and play a song from your ipod's library. Not your itunes library. If it plays the song, then go ahead and stop it, disconnect your ipod, and check the content once again.
I had the same problem and beleive it or not, this worked. I synced my ipod like 5 times before finding this answer on the web. Let me know if I need to clerify anything.

I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.
