Themes missing

My themes were missing in IPhoto '11. I spoke with an Apple rep who solved the problem. Go to Preferences, Go to General. On the bottom it asks how you want to send email. Click on IPhoto and the themes will return. I tried it. It works. Also, I've been told that from the day you purchase IPhoto '11, you have 90 days with any problems you may have with your computer. That is a blessing. Just FYI. I will now try to burn with a Maxell CD.

Hello, sonomel,
Welcome to the discussions.
With iDVD closed, go to YourUserName->Library->Preferences->com.apple.idvdplist.
Trash this plist preference file. Then, reopen iDVD and see if the themes are now there.
Post back if this does not help.

tried to restore from time m/c but no joy. reinstalled iphoto from disc. no joy.

Did you delete the receipts first?
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Unexpected quits, missing themes, missing fonts and broken file paths

I created a project in iDVD 5 on the Powerbook at home, and then took the drive containing the project and all related files to my dad's office to burn it on his iMac G5 (the drive in the powerbook won't burn anything - separate problem). I put all the required files which were on the Powerbook's internal HD in a folder on the external HD, so that they could be reconnected at the office (when the "following files could not be found" dialog pops up).
However, when I opened the project on the G5, from iDVD, it told me that at least one of the themes I had used could not be found. "Ok," I thought, "which ones are they?"; clicking the "show details" triangle, I got the following message:
"The following themes, used by this project, are missing on your system:
    (null)"
This occured a total of five times, before the "following files could not be found" dialog appeared. Some of them had been on my desktop or in my preferences on the powerbook, which I had copied into the aforementioned folder on the portable HD, but it could not find any of the movie files nor some of the image files, all of which had not changed position on the external HD since I started the project. I showed it where all of the files were, and then another message popped up telling me a font was missing. At this point it froze on the spinning coloured ball of death, before showing me an "unexpectedly quit" message. I have been through this so many times, even tried deleting the "com.apple.iDVD.plist" file, which didn't help. I am at a loss.

What version of iDVD is on your Dad's computer. Since you have posted in the iDVD 6 forum, perhaps it is iDVD 6? That may be your problem because I would NOT expect a project created in iDVD 5 (as you have done) to work in iDVD 6.
If you had iDVD 6, I would have suggested you try creating an actual project archive out of iDVD (FILE>ARCHIVE PROJECT). The archive SHOULD contain all the elements you need to work on another computer.

  • Project layout and themes missing PSE7

    Hello,
Now and then when i turn on my computer , which is running Windows XP I click on the Adobe photoshop Elements 7 icon. Once the PSE
7 welcome screen appears i click on organize, this brings up some previous photos ive imported with key word tags. I'll click on on
any of the photos and then click the Create tab in the top right hand corner. Then it wil ask me what would i like to create on the ri
ght side. There will also be a More Options tab, when i click on the More options tab it shows options to create greeting cards, cd
jackets, dvd jackets, cd/dvd labels etc. The problem is when i click on any of those options the Project screen and Pallete comes u
p but the themes and layouts in the Pallete bin don't show up at all. It shows a black empty box where the themes and layouts should
be. When i reinstall the PSE7 they will show up again but after awhile they dissappear or get deleted some how after i shut my com
puter off. Is there a way i can avoid this without having to leave my computer on all the time and having to reinstall PSE 7 everyt
ime this happens? I attached a screen shot of the black empty box of the project bin.

I FINALLY FOUND A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM!!!
I copied the pref file off of my old powerbook over the pref file on my new mac book pro. the buttons came back. Here's how I figured it out, and why it worked.
I did a "show contents" on the Aperture application and found that the buttons I was missing are still in Aperture. I also knew that it should work because updating doesn't remove them, its just installing the newest update before launching aperture for the first time that does it. My old Powerbook that was running the newest Aperture still had the layout buttons in the toolbar. I copied my prefs over and they came back.
I would be happy to email you my pref file if you like. Just post your email on here that you want me to send it to.

  • SAP Gold Reflection Theme Missing

We are on 7.4 and SAP_UI 7.04.0009.  We've noticed that the SAP Gold Reflection theme is missing.  I knew they were removing SAP Corbu from the actual Theme Designer as of SAP_UI 7.04.0008 but it still shows in the portal content themes folder but Gold Reflection is missing.  Is there a way to get it back?

    Samuli,
Thanks for your patience on this one.  I am stepping into the middle of something after a consultant left and I think it's getting pieced together.
First of all, in answer to your question, our AS JAVA is at 7.40.7 if I am reading the following correctly:
However, what I am working off of is the claim that there is a screen shot of sap_goldreflection being in the list when we were on the first system.  I've obtained this screenshot and you will notice the entries look different for sap_goldreflection and sap_bluecrystal.
This appears like a hack to try to get sap_goldreflection available without using the less based theme editor, would you agree?

  • [SOLVED] Firefox 18 + Oxygen KDE theme, missing scrollbar integration

    Hi!
For those of you who are using Firefox 18 from AUR: firefox-kde-opensuse-18.0-1-x86_64
and applied the Oxygen KDE integration: Oxygen KDE (patched) 3.9.1
do you also have missing integration as regards the firefox page scrollbar? It looks like w95ish, as if no theme was applied. All the rest is nice, buttons, tabs, menus, except the scrollbar...
    Bye!
Last edited by marcopus (2013-01-29 15:25:06)

Now it's fixed! I missed the oxygen-gtk2 and gtk-qt-engine from the official repo.
Then I removed all firefox add-ons (such as themes etc.) and selected oxygen-gtk style from the "GTK Styles and Fonts" in the KDE "Settings" menu. Then I clicked on "Install scrollbar fix..." from the "Firefox and Thunderbird" section, and restart the browser.
Now it's all well integrated, scrollbars included.

  • IDVD themes miss elements

Some of my themes, pre-7.0, don't play anymore and miss elements of the theme. It is the case for "Shelves" for instance, where I miss the shelves. The dropzones are present. Also, the background is sometimes kept from one theme when switching to another.
Of course, I have deleted the pref's and the cache, emptied the trash and restarted just to be sure. iDVD is 7.1.2 version.
    Any hints what to do?

What system version are you running?
First log into another user account on your Mac and see if the theme problem exists there.
If so go into the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder and make a backup copy of the entire Themes folder.  Then enter into Time Machine, go back in time to before the problem started and restore the Themes folder.  Repair disk permissions and try iDVD again. You may have to go into iDVD's Advanced preference pane and confirm the location of the themes:

  • Slideshow Theme missing after install iLife'11

    Hello,
I was creating slide show on iPhoto'09 theme for a while. I was exited to install ilife'11. After I install ilife'11, my old slide shows missing and I also realized some theme in iphoto'09 can't be found in iphoto'11. Anyway to load back old themes from iphoto'09.
    Any kind advise please.
    Thanks.
    Merry Christmas.

Well, I do not think the problem has been resolved, the solution I give is if you have a slideshow with some issue already set, clear photos, and places new to use it.
    Sorry for my English.

  • Themes missing and corrupted for iBooks

Like others, I suddenly have only three themes for books, despite having previously creted books saved in other themes. Most odd is going to the large format book options, where I have two different themes--and everything is in Italian. I recently reinstalled iPhoto 8, had to delete my preference (*.plist) files, in order to get slideshows working. Now slideshows work but my book themes are toast. HELP. I don't want to go through yet another reinstall.

You'll need to do the following:
    Restoring iPhoto Themes
First look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation process described below:
1 - delete the current application.
2 - delete any files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.
3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder. Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.
4 - mount the system disk that came with your computer, double click on the "Install Bundled Software Only" file and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
After installing reinstall the latest iPhoto updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime version.

  • Themes missing from IPhoto

I am on Mac OS X 10.8.2 on an IMac. I have IPhoto 11 version 9.4.1 which I got by upgrading to it. The IMac also was upgraded to Lion 10.8  from Leopard. I now cannot print photos from IPhoto and get a message stating there are no themes installed. There also is no link to get and install themes. The only disk is the original one when I purchased the IMac. I do remember when upgrading IPhoto there was a message that the photo library would be updated and no longer readable by earlier versions of IPhoto. If I have to delete and reinstall IPhoto will my library still be useable. If so I need detailed information on how to do all of this. I really appreciate any help.

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • IPhoto themes missing - tried all archived solutions

Just went to try and recreate a card I made last October as the recipient never received it.
No themes are showing. None are in HD/ Library/App Support/iPhoto folder either - followed all suggestions in several archived threads here. Deleted from receipts folder, repaired permissions, rebooted, tried reinstalling, etc.
Nothing has returned my themes. I am on a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.5.6 and iPhoto 08 v7.1.5.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

So the following didn't work, right?
5 - mount the system disk that came with your computer, double click on the "Install Bundled Software Only" file and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
After installing reinstall the latest iPhoto updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime version.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: iPhoto 8's new option in it's rebuild library window, "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" may make this tip obsolete. We'll know when users have occasion to use it and see if that's the case.

  • IPhoto themes missing

    Hi,
When I select photos to email from iPhoto and then hit email, it puts them into the email without any themes. But I would really like to use a theme.
Can anyone please help me to 'turn them on' or 'find them'?!
    Thanks
    T

    Thanks LN.
The stationary in Mail didn't seem to be all that good or flexable - do you mean the stationary options? I'm a new iMac user so just still fiddling with it all. Or are there more 'themes' I can get in Mail?
I replied to another of your posts about the email preferences in iPhoto and getting an error message just a min ago.
    Thanks for replying.

  • IDVD themes missing

I have iDVD 7.0.4 on my MacBook Pro.  I'm trying to open the program.  As it opens, a display pops up that says, "Loading themes".  After that, iDVD closes.  I recently moved my Themes folder from the desktop to the iDVD-CNTRL+Click-Show package contents--plugins- and created a folder called "Themes".  Should the folder be called "Themes" or something else?  I suspect that's my issue.

I am encountering a similar problem with iDVD on my new MBP with Mountain Lion.  I installed iDVD as a custom install from my iLife 11 original disk.  With that I had themes 6 and 7 only with the older themes greyed out. I clicked on one of the greyed out themes and received the message that I could get an update, but it goes to the apps store and simply stops there.
So I copied the themes 1-5 from the Application Support/iDVD/Themes folder that I have on my older MBP with Snow Leopard.  I then copied those themes into the Themes folder on my new MBP.  I did a repair permissions from disk utility and rebooted.  However when I open up iDVD themes from 6 and 7 are ok but the old themes all appear just as a yellow triangle.  There seems to be a broken link there somewhere.
I tried downloading update 7.0.1 and opened it with Pacifist.  There were only Themes 5,6,7, in there. I tried adding themes 5 out of 7.0.1 into the Application Support/iDVD/Themes folder on my MBP with Mountain Lion, tried repairing permissions (none to repair) rebooted and then tried iDVD, but while themes 6 and 7 are ok, it does not recognise the Themes 5 folder or any of the older themes.
Any suggestions as to what I can do next?   Philip

  • IDVD 6 - some themes missing music

I recently installed the Leopard OS to try and fix the iMovie problems I was having (didn't work). Now some of the themes in iDVD6 that should have music do not. I tried the "guest" user to see if the problem was with my files. That didn't work. I also tried reinstalling and deleting the "plist" from the library and restarting. That didn't fix the problem either. I do not have iLife08, just 06. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Sharon

    hi Sharon:
This maybe stating the obvious, but have you attempted to re-install iLife 06?
Did you at least run a permissions repair after installing Leopard?
