There is no manage account button on my firefox sync tab on windows 7 or xp or ipod

I set up a Firefox sync account on my windows 7 machine, with user name, password and code (which I still have).
Then I set it up on my Windows XP machine.
The two synced.
Then I set it up on my iPod. The device picked up the then current sync.
Now, if I try to get to my Sync acct via Firefox>Options>Options>Sync there is no "Manage Account" button.
None of my units will sync, and I cannot even follow the instructions to rest the code -- because there is no "Manage Account" button.
This has been going on for at least a week or more.
Can someone advise on what is happening and how to make sync -- sync? Or work?
Thank you.

When I go to the Firefox button>Options>Options>
I see the Sync Tab which asks me to set up Firefox Sync (which I've already done). The image depicting this is "opening_screen_sync.jpg"
If I click on "Set Up firefox Sync" I see "second_screen_sync.jpg"
If I click on "I already have a Firefox Sync account" Connect button then I see the code it gives with the third screen (I've left the code part out).
Nowhere do I see the screen in the FireFox dialogues that lets me access the Manage my account so I can ask for a reset of the code (if that's necessary).
These pictures are from my windows 7 machine.
Do you also want to see the images from my XP? Essentially it's the same thing.
From my iPod Touch 4 using Firefox Home, when I hit the refresh button the tabs, bookmarks and history remain the same even though my Windows 7 Firefox has changed significantly.
No unit picks up changes from any other unit. Even though originally synced.
Is this the information you where asking for? If not, please feel free to guide me into directly what info you are seeking.
Thank you for your time and patience.

  • Manage Account is missing from the Sync tab. Unable to view my sync key to enable another device.

    1st Step: Firefox
    2nd Step: Options
    3rd Step: Sync
After the 3rd Step, the Manage Account feature is missing so I am unable view my Sync Key to enable my Android phone.

As explained in the first step of the article posted, you need to set up your Firefox Sync account before moving forward and be able to add a new device.
If you did set up an account in the past, you would need to select "Connect" and then search for the link "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom of the 3 boxes.
Make sure that you have the Sync Key handy. If you have lost it, you would need to press the "I've lost my Sync Key" and follow the steps. This will erase all the information in your Sync server.

  • Upon reinstalling Firefox, I cannot access my sync key-there is no "Manage Account"

Once upon a time , after updating Firefox & before the treacherous AVG toolbar wreaked havoc- I had synced my new iTouch with Firefox.
They were living happily ever after until the above mentioned treachery took place. The devastation left no alternative but to uninstall my beloved Firefox & reinstall.
All went smoothly until... I tired to reunite my iTouch with it's long lost Firefox Sync.
The Fairy Tale ending is in tatters as I write this (drat you AVG toolbar!)...
    simply put:
    - going to Tools->Options->Sync only allows me to Set Up Firefox Sync.
    - there is no Manage Account option.
    - which means I cannot access my sync key...
    After researching & failing to find a workable solution to this dilemma, I decided to set up a new account;
it says '[email protected]' is already in use... it's a vicious circle...
Can anyone help straighten this out so my Fairy Tale ends happily?

I followed your advice- a plausible solution to be sure & one to finally reunite my iTouch & Firefox Sync...in fact, I've followed you advice several times over the last month as I continue to get the following Oops message:
    ''Oh dear.
Looks like one of the dinosaurs escaped again. We keep them away from the data, so that should be safe.
Please try again later when we've wrestled him back onto the treadmill.''
Does anyone know when the escapee might be returned to his treadmill?

  • There is no "manage account" option for sync on any of my devices, and I can't set up any new sync devices. How do I fix this?

Since none of my devices have a "manage account" selection under Sync (or Sync set up), there's no way to get or reset my recovery key. I only see "Set up Firefox sync" and "Pair a device". Everything else leads to a dead end without access to a recovery key or being able to manage the account.

I 100% agree with the comments from the very frustrated users on this thread. This has happened to me too many times and still there is no clear fix from Mozilla. I am starting to wonder if there is even a human being behind the replies on this forum. The responses are completely condescending.

  • I don't get "Manage my Account" when I select the Sync tab, but if I try to create a new account it says my userid is already in use. How can I get my password & sync key?

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
    My Firefox version is 4.0.1.
When I try to setup Firefox Sync, I get a choice of "Create a new account" or "Connect".
The first tells me my email address is already in use, but selecting the Sync tab does not give me "Manage my Account."
How can I find out my password and sync key?

    Hi Russ!
Apparently you already configured your account but you don't have nor the key or the password. You can get the password in the [https://account.services.mozilla.com/forgot following link] but you would need the Sync Key to sync your device to the rest of your devices.
If you don't have the Sync Key the best thing you can do is to reset it, by deleting the previous account and creating a new one with the same user. You can perform this tasks from your [https://account.services.mozilla.com/ account dashboard].

  • Forgotten sync password and can't find the "forgot password" button/link in option-sync tab.

Mozilla firefox help database instructed us to access option-sync tab as follow to reset password
    1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Options.
    2. On the Sync tab, click Sign in to open the Sign in page.
    3. On the Sign in page, click Forgot password? Firefox will send you a reset email.
    4. Follow the instructions in your reset email to change your password.
but in my firefox 36.0.4 there isn't any Sign in link, just Manage firefox account link. Clicked Manage to open manage account page, still can't find "Forgot password" link as stated above. So how do we reset password to sync? Please advise anyone.

    At first Go to https://accounts.firefox.com/settings
    # If you already signed in with your sync account
#* You will see a message ''You are signed in as [email protected]''
#* Sign out from your present account.
#* Then you'll see log in page. At the bottom of the form you'll find '''Forgot password?'''
    # If you aren't signed in with sync account
#* Then you'll see log in page.
#* At the bottom of the form you'll find '''Forgot password?'''

  • The password save prompt box does not appear on logging in to certain password protected webpages; is there another way of adding their passwords to Firefox sync?

    Dear Firefox tech supporter,
    I am Currently running:
    Firefox v6.0.2;
    Windows 7 fully updated at 19 Sept 2011 15:45 GMT;
    Norton Internet Security 2011 (using Identity Safe) fully updated at same time as Windows 7;
    Extensions to Firefox-
    Norton Toolbar 2011.7.1.3;
    Symantec IPS 3.1;
    Add to Amazon Wish List Button 7.1;
    Minimap Addon 0.3.13
    Plugins
The usual suspects from Microsoft, Adobe, Wacom, Apple and Google, all of which are checked and no updates currently found.
With webpages such as <https://shop.avanquest.com/members/?company_rs=51>, PayPal and Windows Live e.g. after correct login details are entered into the online form and login is performed successfully. The "key" symbol does not appear to the left of the "awesome bar", neither does the password save pop up box and so the login details for the site cannot be saved in Firefox sync.
This is not specific to https secure sites, as I have been able to save the passwords for several https secure sites and conversely, I have been unable to save the passwords for some http non secure URLs. I have ensured that, whilst trying to enter a page or site into Firefox sync, it has the only tab open.
There does not seem to be a way of manually entering website details (URL, User Name, Password etc.) into Firefox Sync; how can I save the password details for such sites?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Chris Morris

  • Minimize button doesnt work with mouse right button after openning a new tab in windows 8.1 with firefox nightly

I'am using Mozilla firefox nightly version in Windows 8.1 .... after starting the Mozilla all toolbar options, minimize, maximum buttons works fine. but as soon as i open a new tabe the (minimize, maximize, close) options do not work with mouse left button clicking. I have to click taskbar "nightly icon" to minimize or close the browser.

    HI Ashraful_007,
Currently Nightly is not a supported version and is changing each day, however please also to not be discouraged to try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to make sure it is not an add on as well as file a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org.

I can't access the tab to give you more info about the URL.
I have cleared history, cookies and closed the computer but nothing works

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • App-Manager does not connect to Firefox OS Simulator on Windows 7

    OS: Windows 7
    Firefox: 28
    Firefox OS 1.2 Simulator 6.0pre8.20140112
When I start the Simulator it opens fine and I can see a Firefox OS Desktop
But the App Manager does not connect. The console at the right bottom just says:
...connecting to localhost:56455 (the port varies)
...connection timeout. Possible causes: didn't click on 'accept' (prompt).
    ...disconnecting

I disabled my firewall, restarted firefox and even the system - did not help
there is a similiar bug - but I am not sure if we are talking about the same:

    Thank you

well - I already knew these links and I can`t find anything helpful there
anyway, I tried the (unstable) Simulator for 1.3 instead of 1.2
    this one works fine

  • Manage account not showing

When I go to options / sync the sync key is not there nor is the "manage account" button. My email address is registered but I cannot retrieve my key

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • How change standard account to managed account?

I am the administrator. There is one managed account, my daughter's (age 5). While playing around, I set up a new account that is Standard. My daughter begs for that account because of the picture. How do I delete it? OR, how do I make it a managed account? I've gone into Preferences and unlocked the lock, but I can't click on the Standard account to reconfigure it.
Also, how do I hide the Macintosh HD icon on the Mangaged account desktop? My 5 year old just loves clicking around with the mouse and playing with all the keys which gets us both into trouble. Also, is there any way to disable Help so she doesn't end up online? Sometimes I like to let her type and play with fonts and colors in Word for fun, but she's exploring more and more and I can't figure out how to gate her in better. Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Alison

    Hi Alison!
"My daughter begs for that account because of the picture."
To which picture are you referring?
Is there some way that you can configure your daughter's account, with the same picture?
    "How do I delete it?"
Info here Deleting a user account.
"...how do I make it a managed account?"
Info here Restricting what users can do with the computer.
"...I can't click on the Standard account to reconfigure it."
Are you logged in as an Admin?
...how do I hide the Macintosh HD icon..."
Finder Preferences > General: Under Show these items on the Desktop: uncheck Hard disks.
"...is there any way to disable Help so she doesn't end up online?"
I don't know of any way to disable Help, but if her account is restricted from accessing the Internet, I'm not sure if the online Help links, will even open.

  • I can't access "Manage Account" in Firefox Sync

I set up Firefox Sync on 4 devices - three Windows PC computers (standard user accounts on all three) and one Android smartphone. The initial syncs all went fine, but I ran into real problems when I also tried to sync Firefox in my administrative account on one of my PCs. This attempt failed, and now syncs aren't happening for any of my devices, even when I execute a "Sync Now," and the "Manage Account" button has disappeared from all of the Sync Options dialog boxes (the same box that is reached when the "Set Up Sync..." menu command is given) on all of my computers, no matter what I do, so I can't get to my Recovery Key. When I do "Set Up Sync..."/"I have an account"/"Sync Options", the Device Name is correct for all my computer's accounts, even the administrative account I tried to set up, and my Android phone keeps saying that my device is being synched on a regularly basis (although only with data already on the server, not with data from any of my other devices), so my Sync account shows some signs of life. I'm wondering how I get Sync working again?

I use Secure Login (Firefox extension) for my password manager rather than Firefox's own password manager.
Also, although it would be very nice to be able to recover my Recovery Key, I don't know how far that would go towards solving my basic problem, getting Sync back up and working again.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Stuck in a F'fox 9 Sync configuration loop - account already exists but can't manage account-

I'm stuck in a loop trying to configure and use Firefox 9's Sync feature.
On System "A", I have used the Set Up Sync tool to create a Sync account: I belive the account is valid insofar as I can use the email address and password supplied to the Set Up Sync tool to log in to the Web-base Sync portal.
But if I then use Tools —> Options —> Sync to manage my Sync Account or Add a device, all I see is a Set Up Sync button; no Manage Account button or features. AND if I try to re-create my Sync account, the tools reports that the email address is already in use.
On system B, the behavior is essentially identical. I can't CREATE a Sync account with the same email address as System A, but I also can't manage or add devices.
I've been using computers since 1981, and generally can work through these issues. But I'm completely confounded: It seems I've successfully created a Sync account, but on two computers Firefox 9 refuses to permit me to manage or otherwise use that account.

Thanks for the solution. It was *definitely* helpful.
I must say that having worked through the configuration, I did NOT experience the usual "doh!" or even an "ah ha!" moment ala "Oh, I was so thick not to figure this out".
That is to say that, thanks to you, I now have a better understanding of how to make Firefox Sync work, but the steps and controls still seem a bit convoluted and opaque to me.
That notwithstanding, thanks again for your help.

  • When setting up a Firefox Sync account I was never asked a secret phrase. When I try to use Firefox Home it asks for the secret phrase. What do I do? (using Firefox 3.6.10, iphone 4 and macbook OS X

When setting up a Firefox Sync account I was never asked a secret phrase. When I try to use Firefox Home it asks for the secret phrase. What do I do? (using Firefox 3.6.10, iphone 4 and macbook OS X

On the MacBook, open up the Preferences dialog and go to the Sync panel. Click the Manage Account button so it shows more options, then click on the My Sync Key link to show you the Sync Key.
The sync key is the same as the secret phrase, it was renamed in recent versions of Firefox Sync.
