Thin white line at top of ipod 80G classic screen

Would like to know if there is a way to get rid of this line, which is located across the top of the screen, in the area where the battery icon is located. The screen was fine then I downloaded the latest version of software for the 80G Classic and synced it. Next thing I knew I had this white line across the top of the screen. Is there a way to get rid of the line, or do I have to send the unit in and have Apple repair it? Only had the unit since December 2007.

Oh - you are good!

  • Small thin white line

I've got an issue I just noticed in the top left corner of my screen. There's a thin white line that doesn't extend the entire screen right by the apple menu. Screenshot:
    http://www.equals5.com/downloads/imac-screenshot.png
It stays there even when I switch Spaces. Is this a monitor issue? video card? Anyone? Thanks in advance!

the menu bar is transparent and will blur any picture under it. as such your desktop picture is showing thorough your menu bar. If you look at the desktop picture you can see there is a small white line that runs up the photo. That's what your seeing in the menu bar.
Try changing your desktop picture. Watch how each desktop picture shows through the menu bar.

  • I have thin white lines going horizontally across the screen of my Ipod

Its an 11 month old I-Pod touch 4th gen with some thin white lines horizontally across the screen. Its still under warr, so should I just mail it in for repairs/exchange or is this normal??

    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Line across top of ipod classic

I have a new ipod classic 80Gb, and tonight I accidentally dropped it onto a hard surface. Now there's a thin white line across the top of the screen, like a whole line of pixels are missing. It doesn't go away after resetting. Is this permanent damage, or can it be repaired? I fear I know the answer, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

Bring it into Apple and see what they say.

  • Thin White Lines - I can't get rid of them! Help!

I have a project in InDesign and whether I print directly from InDesign or export and print from PDF the thin white lines appear.
I have attempted all the solutions from this page Thin white, dark lines (stitching) | Export to PDF | InDesign CS2 and later,
    but haven't had any luck.
One layer are colored circles with affects and the top layer is text.
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

What export settings are you using? In my experience, letting Acrobat do the flattening is more reliable than if ID does it, but there's no guarantee that you won't see stitching on any particular printer unless you eliminate transparency from the design.

  • Thin white line

I was going to post this in a related thread, but that one has been hijacked by an argument about language, so...
I've had my new MacBook Pro for two weeks and the display is a bit grainy and has a slight backlight leak in the bottom left-hand corner but both of these were OK.
Now, suddenly, it's developed a thin white line at the top of the screen, at the same position as the edge of the top menu bar, almost like the edge of the menu bar has "burned in" to the screen - you see it very clearly when you start up or shut down the machine and the screen has a completely blank grey or blue background.
    My questions are:
    - Is anybody else seeing this?
    - I think I'm "just" over two weeks since getting this machine, so should I try for a replacment or should I just submit it for repair. Apart from a squeaky spacebar key, all is working fine, so I don't know which is the greater gamble.
Any comments would be appreciate, thanks.

Mine had the same problem - a thin white line after some use. I returned it as soon as I discovered.
It was also grainy, the was no white in the screen, bright sand would be more appropriate

  • Thin White Lines above Buttons

On my published page, there are thin white lines at the tops of some of my hyperlink buttons & not others. iWeb doesn't show these lines, they appear to be added during publication.
    Come see: http://web.mac.com/tarpitboss
They appear to be used as photo delimiters or ? They are ok added above some images but not these, & why on some of mine & not others??
How do I turn them OFF?
    powerbook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I was looking for what caused this in the forums and I guess I just don't know what to search for
I know one solution is to change the size of the problem .jpg's by one pixel on each side and it should render as a .png as your text is. This would solve the look, but I'd imagine if you made the decision to have them as .jpg's you'd probably like to keep them that way. Perhaps someone else has a solution to keep them as .jpg's.

  • White 'line' at top of images edited in iPhoto '09?

    Hi all,
I get a (very thin) white line on the top of my images in iPhoto '09. It occurs on some (not all) images when I sharpen them. Anyone have any clues?
I have posted an example here.
Note that this does not happen in Aperture 2 but I find iPhoto '09 easier to use.
    Any help?
    All the best

It's on the first page also. How are you adding the photos to the pages, both album and front? Are you processing the photos in a 3rd party editor?

  • White line at top of JPEG's

    This is curious.
I updated my website last night and now all of a sudden, I have a very thin white line at the top of all the new images I placed in it.
The thing is, I did nothing different from what I do normally and they are not visible in iWeb.
Could someone kindly take the time to navigate my site and see what I mean and potentially come up with a solution as it would be much appreciated.

  • Thin white lines showing around shapes

When I open a logo created in Illustrator in other programs such as acrobat or photoshop there are thin white lines showing around every object! Even on the inside of the surronding lines of an area colored using the live paint bucket (black area surrounden by black lines). I see no lines in Illustrator and there is no "stroke" on these objects (only fill). I have tried to save it to different formats (ai, eps and pdf because I want to keep it vectorized) but it doesn´t help. What can I do?

They don't print. Search the Knowledgebase for "stitching" for an explanation.

  • Thin white line around black .ai logo and drop shadow question

    Hello,
There's a very thin white line all around a black .ai logo I made when placed on a color background. It shows up in printing and acrobat (PDF % compatibility) too. Also, is there any way to get a transparent drop shadow (no white boxes) when saving as eps.
    Thanks
Running OS10.4.11 In Design CS3, intel mac.

Is the logo rasterized in Illustrator? It sounds like something was antialiased against a white background.
    >Also, is there any way to get a transparent drop shadow (no white boxes) when saving as eps
No. EPS does not support transparency. If an area is not fully transparent (because nothing is drawn there) then it is fully opaque. PDF and AI support transparency.

  • PDF - Thin White Lines Present

    Hi there,
When I "print" as a PDF file from my .ai file, thin white lines appear in the PDF where frame edges would normally be invisible.
Is there a way to create the PDF without this happening? And, why is this happening?
If this has something to do with not flattening my artwork before I create a PDF, then how do I do that?
    Thank you!
    Nicki

You are giving him a PDF file.
The problem is that he is literally ruining the content of the file by converting the PDF file to a raster image in Photoshop and then printing that, in other words it looks like your printer is using Photoshop as a “poor man's RIP!” The transparency effects in your PDF/X-4 file are being flattened at whatever resolution your printer sets the Photoshop image to be. In fact, transparency blending should be performed at the printer's RIP where such flattening artifacts that you are seeing are avoided.
You say you don't have your choice of printer?
Would you say you don't have your choice of physician if a doctor told you he was going to do an appendectomy by operating through your nose? Would you claim you don't have your choice of physician?
Professional incompetence is professional incompetence. If you have a “printer” who is really printing PDF files by opening them in Photoshop and printing directly from Photoshop to the device somehow, you are dealing with demonstrable incompetence!
The advice to find another printer is the best advice that we (including Adobe) can provide to you!

  • Problem with Thin White Line in PDF

I am encountering an appearance issue in a pdf created from a FrameMaker 11 file, using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Adobe Acrobat Distiller X. The pdf displays a table that has black lines running vertically between every other column. In the column in between these lines, there appears to be a thin white line displaying. If I enlarge the pdf to 200%, the white line disappers. I right-clicked on the pdf and in the menu under "Page Display Preferences ...", I chose "Page Display" under the "Categories" column and then "Rendering". I then iuncheck the "Enhance thin lines" feature and this removes the thin line from the pdf. However, if I process another pdf for a different FrameMaker 11 file, the "Enhance thin lines" feature is unchecked and this affects the appearance of these other pdfs. Consequently, I need to reselect the "Enhance thin lines" feature in order to process these pdfs. However, if I reselect this, I'm noticing that when I open the pdf that has the thin line issue, the thin line is visible and the "Enhance thin lines" feature is selected. Is there a way to adjust this, so that the "Enhance thin lines" feature is removed for only this one pdf, but is selected for the other pdfs?

I think you are seeing Stitching Lines. If you can zoom in and the width does not change, they likely stitching lines. (Any actual content should scale proportionate)
Do a search for the term .
Stitching Lines are an on screen artifact which do not print (on high resolution ouput) caused by transparency flattening. You use of Distiller joboption probably invokes flattening.
Enhance Thin Lines is a local preference of Acrobat. I doubt it could be retained in a file.
