Thinest Protection Case For My Blackberry Curve 8900

Hi, I’m after some kind of protection that I can put on my blackberry. I want to add the least bulk as possible onto my phone. Can anyone advise me on what I could buy for this? I would like something that will stay on my phone and not any kind of pocket that my phone will go into.  I would mostly like to get a plastic crystal clear case providing that they are not to bulky, so help on that or closely related would be appreciated Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. The cover you have recommended is nice. Do you have this case yourself or know anyone that has this? Does is add much bulk to the phone is my main concern.  Does anyone else know any very thin protection cases? Very much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Changing My Blackberry Curve 8900 Housing

Hi, I’m planning to get a Blackberry Curve 8900. Before I buy this phone I would like to know if I can change my housing to pink. I’m aware that a phone comes in 3 parts. A front cover, a middle cover and a back cover. I would just like to change the front and back cover as I think the changing the middle cover would be to much trouble unclipping parts. Is changing the front and back cover as simple as unclipping the cover of and on or do I have to remove and unclip parts to do this. I’m scared to unclip to much as I think I may break it.  Pictures or videos would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi. I am wondering if silicone cases for the Blackberry Curve 8900 are better than a hard case? I ask this because I originally when I got my phone bought a hard case for it and the battery would get very warm and drain at an alarming rate. Once the case came off things were fine.  But I really would like to encase it if possible...would silicone be better or just cause the same battery issues again?  Advice please.  TY.

  • How can I get my blackberry curve 8900 to update to 5.0 and get wifi to work?

I bought a blackberry curve 8900 around a year ago on an AT&T plan back when data plans werent required, so it just has minutes and texting. because of an issue i had with data before, i have data disabled completely on my account to prevent any mistaken data being used up and charging me. my AT&T contract recently expired so i called them up and got my blackberry unlocked, and will be soon switching to tmobile.
My problem is that it refuses to update past 4.6 over to 5.0 because of some restriction on it placed by AT&T, and my wifi wont work unless i have data enabled for the same reason. Is there anything i can do? I've tried installing 5.0 from different service providers onto my phone but it never installs properly.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While you can (with just a trick or two) use any carriers OS package for your specific model number, it won't do any good since all 5.0 level OS's require a data plan, regardless of which carrier. So, without that, you can't update to 5.0. Further, it is the data plan that activates BIS -- which is what is used to run the BlackBerry Browser...hence that non-functionality also. Basically, a BB without a data plan is, to many, pretty useless.
There are other browsers that bypass BIS and will use a generic data plan (assuming you have that)...OperaMini and Bolt come to mind. You might give those a try.
    Good luck!

please people out there whose so good in fixing phones. please help me. i wanna use my phone.
    ANYONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. After installing the OS package to your PC, please remeber to delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
You may also need the use of these tricks:

KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • BlackBerry Curve 8900 Locked - Not Accepting Password - I'm Original/Only Owner of Device

Hello - I'm brand new to this Forum.  I've had my Blackberry Curve 8900 since September of 2009 (original owner) and this is only my second problem with the phone. (My trackball gave out last July, but I had it fixed and it is good as new).
Anyway, I received an email this morning to update the password for my email account (Hotmail) and I updated via my settings on the phone. Then 10 minutes later my phone locked and asked for a password. I recently updated my Blackberry ID password and received a confirmation. Now when I enter this password into my phone to unlock it...I keep getting the message that it is "incorrect" and how many tries I have left out of 10 (it says information will be erased if one more wrong attempt). I already have done this 9 times and it keeps getting rejected.  I only have one attempt left and I'm extremely frustrated. Isn't this password the same as the BlackBerry ID password? What else can I do? Help!  Now all I can do is make call & receive calls. I'm unable to check email or text messages since phone is locked.  Please help!

    Hello FlowerChick,
Welcome to the forums and sorry to hear about your issue.
Before you made any changes did you use a password to lock your device? If so then this would be the password you need to enter. Hope this helps. Let us know if we can help out in any other way.

  • Protective case for ipod touch

Im interested in learning about protective cases for the 8gb touch. Im especially interested in a hard, clear case. Any suggestions?

I have a protective screen thing, too, which is great. No bubbles, and if you're careful when you put it on, no dust. I can't even tell it's there.
BUT, while that adequately protects from scratches, I don't feel it does anything in the way of protecting the thing if it's dropped, and it certainly wouldn't protect the screen if it got banged against something in my purse. Those are my concerns. So, I have it in a clear, hard, plastic case. DLO, got it from Best Buy. Like the one mentioned above, but I don't have a pop-out stand - instead it has little rubber grippy things on the back so that it doesn't slide around if I lay it down. In addition to that, I put it in another, cloth, case that protects it somewhat from being hit by the sharp edge of something and has a strap I can put around my wrist). Even that isn't what I really want - what I want to get is something that puts a hard cover right in front of the screen, to keep it from being cracked.
And for the person who mentioned a couple of days ago that s/he doesn't put it in a case because it's not a precious jewel - having a case has saved me at least twice when I've dropped my iPod onto the asphalt next to my car. Just makes me feel better. I don't need my iPod to look perfect for always, but I would like it to continue to function, and I'm the first to admit that my purse isn't the safest place for fragile things

  • Protective case for G2

Looking for a good protective case for the G2. What do you have and like?

Slightly different opinion than Snn5, no disrespect intended.
TUDIA Ultra-Slim Melody Series TPU case.

Very low profile. Adds just the right amount of grip, without being bulky. Probably would not protect the phone much from a drop, but this will prevent it leaving your hands.

  • What is the best protective case for the iPhone 4s?

What is the best protective case for the iPhone 4s? If I drop my phone I don't want it to crack or break. How protective is the Gorrila Glass?

I am using the Otterbox Defender, and it's a great case.
Gorilla glass is a glass applied to phones (not the iPhone, it does not use Corning branded glass), but the iPhone screen is pretty good against scratches.

  • What is the best protective case for 2011 13" Macbook Pro

What is the best protective case for 2011 13" Macbook Pro (that can withstand an active 4 year old :).   My 4 year old plays with the teaching apps on my iPhone 4 in the otterbox case and its great - the bulkiness of the otterbox not an issue and I love being able to give the phone to him and feel completely comforatable. I would love to find something to protect my Macbook Pror. Thanks for any help!!

I would definitely go for a Hardsheel or a Perforated Hardshell Case

  • Protective cases for iPhones

Two protective cases for iPhones are 1) Lifeproof and 2) Otterbox Defender series. Does anyone have acquaintance with both these cases? If so, is one better than the other? Or is there some other case that is better than either of those? Thank you for the assessment and suggestions.

The iPhone 5 Otterbox Defender case is very nice and is a big improvement over their 4/4S case. The new one is much slimmer and better feeling in the hand, though it's still a BIG CASE.
The Lifeproof case isn't quite as physically rugged as the Otterbox, but it is water resistant where the Otterbox isn't.  The Lifeproof case can be used in the shower or even swimming if you keep it above six feet of water. There are some reports that individual Lifeproof cases can muffle sound quality fairly badly (while others don't), but the Otterbox doesn't have those issues as it leaves the speaker ports relatively unobstructed. The Lifeproof case is also much slimmer than the Otterbox while providing a large degree of protection.
Griffin's Survivor series cases are generally as rugged as either of the above, but I don't recall it being waterproof.
There are a number of other cases with a high impact resistance rating out there, but I'd probably stick with one of those three mentioned above, myself.

  • Protective Cases for ACD HD 23" While Traveling

    Hello Guys
I will soon be purchasing the 23inch ACD. I was wondering where I could locate a good protective case for my 23inch display while I travel. I went to a local apple store and they recommended that I could either ship it or buy a case from a music store, the type that they use for drums and other music equiment.
    I also came across http://www.pelican.com/
What do you guys recommend? I'll be changing dorms over the summer and then once I am done during the middle of summer I will be flying back home. Should I ship it with a certain shipping company or should I get a case for it?
    iBook G4 14 1.2 GHz processor   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

This is a good idea, I took my monitor from the US to Indonesia and put it in the original box. It arrived in a very good condition. No damage whatsoever. Been using it for over 6 months and it's fine.

  • Can Anyone Recommend A Good Protective Case for an 80G ipod?

Can anyone recommend a good protective case for an 80G ipod?

The Griffin Survivor is a military-grade case that I use. It's $40 and I purchased it at Best Buy. It has a rubber piece that covers the charging port, but can be easily removed for charging while still in the case. The only downside of the case is because of the added girth, it makes the iPod unusable with iHomes or other docks unless you take it out of the case.

  • Java Script for Blackberry Curve 8900

I have a BB Curve 8900 on Orange in the UK. I am trying to access live football on the BBC website but it states that Java Script needs to be activated. Can anyone help to resolve this?
    Thanks.

    Hello!
That setting is on this page:
from within the Browser App, ( > Options > Browser Configuration).
You may also find that changing, also on that screen, your Browser Identification to another browser might help your BB interact better with some websites.
    Good luck!
