Things type app to use with iCloud?
I was hoping when I upgraded to IOS5 and the cloud, there would be an app like Cultured Code Things -- but one that syncs over the cloud!
Any recommendations? Am I missing it??
Thanks.
thanks for the link! this helped a lot!!!
if i get the sense of this correct, it should be possible_
Apple IDs and iCloud
An Apple ID is the email address you use as a login for just about everything you do with Apple, including using iCloud to store your content, buying songs from the iTunes Store, and downloading apps from the App Store.
When you set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you use the same Apple ID for iCloud services and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore. You can, however, use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You will get all the benefits of iCloud whether you use the same Apple ID for iCloud and store purchases, or different IDs for each.
now i only need to figure out, how to achieve it ;-)
thanks for your help!

Mavericks Notes App not syncing with iCloud
The notes.app stopped syncing with iCloud after installation of Mavericks for users with networked home folders. Was previously working properly with Mountain Lion.
Notes syncing is enabled in icloud preferences.
Signing out of icloud and signing back in does not fix the problem.
Unselecting the notes checkbox and re-selecting has erratic effects->a) sometimes crashing the notes.app unrecoverably (app won't reopen after force quite). b) sometimes crashing the icloud system preferences altogether.
All other icloud apps work fine: contacts, calendar, reminders, etc. (all except icloud documents which is greyed out for users with networked home folders see: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23544576?ac_cid=tw123456#23544576 )
Any fixes or work-arounds? We use our notes app extensively and this is really debilitating.I was having the same problem with Notes not syncing. I also got duplicate notes. I found that spryt's solution fixed my syncing problem and signing in and out of icloud on my local devices finally fixed the duplicating notes problem. I am not using a networked home directory. Using Mavericks OS and believe the problem started with the upgrade.
I did notice one peculiarity: on my iMac, it shows that I'm syncing notes to "All [email protected]". However, on my Macbook Pro, Notes shows I'm syncing to "All icloud". I tried to change my iMac to "All icloud", but I can't seem to find that preference. I hope they are one and the same.
Syncing is almost instantaneous across devices including iphone and ipad now. If I find that I encounter any more problems, I'll update this thread. -
I have recently downloaded IOS X Lion and I want to upgrade Iphoto to use with ICloud, I can't see the upgraded anywhere on the computer in system updates or on APP store updates. Where can I find this?
If you have lion and iPhoto '11 (latest version is 9.2.1) you can set up and turn on iCloud there and if you have IOS 5 on your mobile then your mobile devices will sync with your Mac
If this does not cover what you need please describe your situation in more detail

I want to be able to setup a generic corporate Apple ID to use with iCloud and Find my iPhone, that will allow me to have more than 10 devices assigned to the ID. How do I go about creating this account?
I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you create a new iCloud account with a different ID your existing ID isn't effected by this. It will continue to work as it does now, you will just have an additional Apple ID. If you have an earthlink email address you can continue to use it as a separate account, and it can continue to be your default account if you set it to be (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account). If I'm misunderstanding your question, please explain further.

Photos app not syncing with icloud
Hi all,
After updating to the new photos app my photo library doesn't seem to be syncing properly with icloud. My ipad and iphone update ok to show the recent photos I've taken on either device, when I view the photos from the other device, then when I log into iCloud all the new photos are also stored there.
However, when I open the Photos app on my mackbook the new photos aren't visible. Any thoughts or ideas on how to resolve this?
Many thanks
Mark

My iPad Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps Stopped Syncing with iCloud Drive
My iPad Air (iOS 8.0.2) is synced with my iCloud Drive, and all of its apps (Notes, Contacts, Calendar, etc.) sync perfectly with iCloud Drive... except for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
When I open Pages, Numbers, or Keynote on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2), my Mac (Yosemite beta), or my iCloud.com page, all files are there and all apps sync perfectly with one another. It's just Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on my iPad that refuses to sync. When I open my iPhone Pages app, I even see the text "Updating" at the top of the screen. But not on my iPad version.
I even factory restored my iPad and started all over again. And for a moment, the Pages app got something. A few docs and one folder appeared. But then it stopped again. And I haven't been able to repeat the process.
Anyone have any suggestions?Hello lippyloggy,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iCloud Drive:
Using iWork with iCloud Drive
Options for iWork customers
1. Upgrade to iCloud Drive later this year when OS X Yosemite is available.
Choose this option if you’d like your documents to keep up to date with your apps on OS X Mavericks or earlier. Note that until you upgrade your iCloud account to iCloud Drive, you won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com or the Share via iCloud feature.
If you don’t upgrade to iCloud Drive at this time:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8 and across devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You won’t be able to use the Share via iCloud feature.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud won’t be accessible to collaborators until you upgrade to iCloud Drive.
2. Upgrade to iCloud Drive today.
Choose this option if you’d like to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com and the Share via iCloud feature. To access the most recent versions of your documents from a Mac with OS X Mavericks or earlier, you’ll need to go to iCloud.com and access Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from there. On a PC, you can install iCloud for Windows 4.0and set up iCloud Drive. If you upgrade to iCloud Drive now:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8, Macs with OS X Yosemite, PCs with iCloud for Windows 4.0, and iCloud.com. (OS X Yosemite will be available this fall.)
Your documents will no longer keep up to date on devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You’ll be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You’ll be able to use the Share via iCloud feature on iOS 8 and iCloud.com. You’ll be able to use it on OS X Yosemite later this year.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud will be accessible to collaborators.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

How do i configure outlook for use with icloud and my iphone?
I am at a loss at how to configure my outlook 2007 for the best synch and use with my icloud and or iphone. Any help out there?
You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/24481/ntfs-3g
If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) -
Can ipod classic be used with icloud
Hi, could someone please tell me if i can use my ipod classic with i cloud
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Unfortunately, iCloud is only compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 5 or later, Macs with OS X 10.7.2 or newer, and PCs with iCloud Control Panel, but not with the iPod classic. Note that it can't be connected to the Internet -
Can iPad apps be used with MacBook Air
can a macBook air be used with APPs?
No, but many apps have both Mac and iPad versions available.

My wife is having intermittent iCloud email server issues. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. The iCloud system status page says everything is okay, and my MacBookPro has the exact same setup as hers and does not have the problem. Her iPhone email works without a hitch so it is somehow Mac / Lion related. She migrated from MobileMe to iCloud but so did I. We both migrated from MM to iCloud a few days after iCloud was launched in October. She has a 2010 MacBook running 10.7.2. I have an '06 MacBookPro running 10.7.2.
Here is the response from Mail Connection Doctor:
"Could not connect to the MobileMe IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences."
I think only the first part of the Connection Doctor response is pertinent. All the settings were created by the iCloud mail setup in system preferences and are the same as mine. I ended up rebooting her system and Mail started working again but I'm not sure if that solved it or it just coincidentally started working afterward. This has happened multiple times over the last few weeks.
Any ideas? The most probable explanation is that the server is getting overwhelmed by too many users and is therefore not responding to requests. I've seen this occasionally with other mail servers - it clears up after a bit - but whether there's just a temporary problem with iCloud or whether it's already got more customers than it can handle I don't know.

I've been using the iCloud mail for quite some time now
A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
On the iPhone, tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
Tap Add Account.
Tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
Click Next.
Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465 or 587
Requires SSL: Yes
Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.

ToDo app not syncing with iCloud to iPad and iPhone
I have the Appigo ToDo app on my ipad and was synching it successfuly with my Mac iCal reminders. Prefering to use ToDo i have now installed it on my Mac and on my iPhone but it won't sych them together via the iCloud as promised. Using the 'advanced' tab i managed to get all the info onto all three devices but when i change something on one device - its doesn't change on the others. I have followed the instructions and repeated them - is there something i am missing?
@geands - Did you ever get a fix?
mine is the same after working fine for months - now they are all different! argh!
have reset them all - even though I fear losing stuff.
I'm going to try going back to a local network connection to sync - will keep you posted. -
Can iWeb be used with iCloud?
Since MobileMe no longer exists, does iWeb enable you to create and upload a website to iCloud?
It's possible to use iWeb to publish to other website hosting services, though there are a couple of things which won't work without MobileMe including comments on blog posts. The first part of this page gives more details including the different methods of publishing between iWeb 2 and 3:
http://rfwilmut.net/missing2
I think it's worth emphasizing a point I make in that page: if you haven't been using iWeb, now is not a good time to start. Already version 2 doesn't work reliably with Mountain Lion (though v3 does) and as iWeb is no longer sold by Apple, not supported, and may very well be broken by some future system upgrade starting to use it now may well be storing up trouble.
