Third Party Driver Conflict

I am getting this message right now when I try to do anything in Logic:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Logic Pro has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers.
Be sure to install the latest drivers for all audio and MIDI equipment connected to your computer, and remove any older or unused drivers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seemed to come out of nowhere - I haven't done any software updates or anything. Is there a way to find out which drivers it's talking about? I can't work at all until it's resolved, it seems. Thanks for any help you can offer!
-mike

Well it must be talking about the MOTU Midi driver then located here:
Library/Audio/Midi Drivers/
maybe your current driver got damaged somehow - just download the current driver again from the MOTU website and trash the old driver - then install the new driver...

  • What third party drive do I use to connect my umi-7764 to a phytron stepper motor (zss66)

I would like to connect my phytron stepper motor (zss66) to my UMI-7764, do I need a third party drive ?
And if i need one, which one ?
    Thank !
Seb (I am french so if you want to aswer french, let's go )

    Sebastien,
(Voir
le bas de la page web)
    http://www.ni.com/devzone/advisors/motion/driveadvisor.htm
Je ne connais pas les spec de votre stepper, mais si vous désirez l'utiliser avec un UMI 7764, le plus simple serait de contacter la fbricant de ce moteur, et d'obtenir une liste de drive que celui conseille.

  • Intersense Inertiacube, IC3, ITrax2, InterTrax2 -- third party driver for Labview

    Hi,
I've been attempting to use the third party driver located at:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=1540162FC7953043E0440003BA7CCD...
to communicate with an Intersense Inertiacube via Labview 8.2.  It does work, but it causes sporadic Labview crashes as well.  Typically Labview will crash in one of the following scenarios (in order of frequency):
    - upon editing any VI after running and successfully stopping the Intersense communicating VI
    - upon stopping the Intersense communicating VI (not the halt button, but a healthy stop)
    - upon starting the Intersense communicating VI (very rare, and typically only after several successful starts/stops of the VI)
My hunch is that this is a memory management issue related to the third party DLL wrapper (isense_dll_wrapper.dll).  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Anyone know the history of who wrote the wrapper?  Is the source code available?  Is there a way of having the DLL open/run in its own memory space, separate from Labview's memory space?
Is there a way of having the VI run in a separate memory space from the rest of Labview (so at least if it does crash it won't take all of Labview with it)?
    Thanks for your time,
    ~ Jay

If anyone knows how to contact Sacha Emery, ATE Systems Engineer @ NI, he may have more information regarding this.  (He may even have the DLL wrapper source code.)  His name is in the ITrax2 Readme.txt file as the creator.

  • Motion control: PXI 7350 controller and UMI 7774 to interface with third-party driver UDK5114NW2

    Dear community,
This is about Motion control in Labview: I try to control a step motor by using a PXI 7350 controller and UMI 7774 to interface with  third-party driver UDK5114NW2. The problem is 5 Disable LEDS on UMI 7774 board always lit even when I check "enable" on "Motion I/O setting" in configuration of PXI 7350 motion controller. Furthermore, when I start to control step motor, it is not working and I found disable LED on UMI board still lit. I don't know how to solve this problem. Can someone help me to figure out? Thank you in advance!
    Hau Nguyen.

    Dear Community,
I said wrong, 4 disable LEDS on UMI 7774 Board instead of 5 as my previous post. Why nobody help me to solve this problem. I can not turn off disable LEDs on UMI 7774 Board so I can not start the strp motor. Please help me!

  • Disabling a Third Party Drive/Motor thru a Relay

I can’t seem to get my INHOUT signal to disable my drive/motor.  I have the PCI-7342 Stepper/Servo Motion Controller with the UMI-7764 connected to a third party drive and servo motor.  My third party drive requires a constant 24 volt signal to enable my drive/motor.   I have the INHOUT connected to a relay in order to control this 24 volt signal.  When there is 5 volts at my relay this will enable my drive, when the 5 volts goes low then my drive will be disabled.  I have the drive wired up per the attached schematic.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you use the source current of the INH output it probably will not be able to drive a 5V relay. Jochen's calculations are valid for the limiting current, i.e. the current where the output voltage will be zero. With a resistive output the output voltage will depend on the current needed by the relay coil and will never reach 5V.
It is better practice to use the 64mA sink capability of the INH output. But of course in this case the relay will be activated when the output is low. In your case you may wire the relay between +5V (do NOT use the +5V pin of the 734x connector!!! - you may use a +5V terminal of the UMI box provided your UMI power supply can supply the UMI box plus the relay current) and INH, and use the N.O. contact of the relay.
If this is not desired I would suggest to add an extra output transistor (any small signal transistor can sink 100mA or more) connected as an inverter or a driver IC such as an ULN2803. A single transistor has a saturation voltage of less than 0.5V, and most, if not all, relays rated at 5VDC will switch reliably at 4.5V. Check the relay specs for the 'must on' voltage.
Never, I said NEVER, connect a relay to a semiconductor device without a snubber diode. The diode should be connected across the coil terminals (and close to them), with the cathode to the (+) terminal. It will short the inducted high voltage when the relay is de-energized. Some relays have integrated snubber diodes.
Also, I see from your diagram that the emergency switch can be operated at a certain relay position only. At least in Germany this would be illegal since the emergency switch has to be independent from any other control circuitry.

  • Cannot create data source using custom third-party driver

    Hi,
    I've just installed Weblogic Server 10.3.6 and I'm getting problems creating a generic data source using my own third party jdbc driver which I had no problems doing in Weblogic Server 10.0; this is what I did in 10.0;
before starting server i put my driver jar file (and any jar files it needed) in the lib folder of the domain user project which weblogic appends to the classpath during server startup
    inside weblogic console -
    1. first page - provided a data source name and jndi name and selected 'other' for database type
    2. second page - selected 'other' for jdbc driver
    3. third page - deselected the global transactions
    4. fourth page - provided database name, username, host name, port, and password.
    5. fifth page - provided driver class, url, database user name and password (didn't bother with the test)
    6. Selected target server
I then saved and activated changed and was done.
This what I did for 10.3.6
did the same thing I did for 10.0 before server start up
    inside weblogic console -
    1. first page - provided data source name and jndi name and selected 'other' for database type
    2. second page - selected 'other' for jdbc driver
    3. third page - deselected the support global transactions
    4. fourth page - here's where things are different - page only asked for database username and password, which I give.
One this page I get a criptic error saying 'errors must be corrected before proceeding' - no other message as to what these errors might be either in the console or the cmd window of the server. I tried making changes to the provider authenticiation of the security realm but no luck. I tried following password creation requirements, I even tried proceeding to the next page without entering anything on this page, all no luck. I have no idea what's going on.
    Hope someone can help.
    Sam.

I've fixed the class issue but am struggling a bit with SQL Server authentication. I'm running in mixed mode (originally set to Windows authentication but I've modified the security setting), I've enabled TCP/IP and Named Pipes, I've created a user (who I can log in to SQL Server Mgmt Studio successfully with), but still get a connection refused error.
    Any insight? Thanks.

  • Problem Connecting Third Party Driver to UMI-7772

    Hi All,
I am having a few problems in connecting my third-party servo-driver (Higen FDA-5020) to UMI-7772, PXI-7350 and PXI-8106. My problem is stated below:
    1. During trial (i.e. before my programing), is the switches of Fault, Enable and Limit LED on UMI-7772 needs to be Active High or Active Low?
    2. When I try to communicate from MAX by enabling the Axis 1, the "Disable" LED on axis 1 light up RED. Is this means that Axis 1 is "Enable" as red mean "NOT" and red disable mean "NOT-DISABLE"?
    3.  When I try to interact with my driver via MAX (the interactive option in MAX), the "Motion Function Execution Status" stated "Successful (No Error)" but the servo-motor is standing still. During the execution, Axis Status are showing red light on "Both limit switches are active" and "Home switch is active". Is there any effect on the interaction I am trying to do?
    4. How can I control the Digital I/O in MAX? Or I can only control it through LV? and How can I control via LV? Will LV sense the Digital I/O itself?
Detail of my motor and driver:
    Motor: LF 20
    Driver: FDA-5020
Attachments are the connection pin for driver and UMI and servo motor and driver manual.
    Thanks for your answer.

  • Third party apps conflicts/  permissions repair

I have just loaded some adobe (CS4) products on my iMac.
All the apps worked well except 1 , I spoke to the Adobe help , who indicated some conflicts cause the software to malfunction.
Is there software to repair the permissions on my hard drive. (If that Is indeed the problem?) that is better than "disk utility" loaded on Osx?
If so what is it and where do I find?
My "Flash" app will not load properly on my original desk top, although loads well on a separate account (login window) (apparent conflict with another app ) any clues ? would be greatly appreciated
    Rob

Me too, CS4 Production Suite crashes on launch. Adobe had me create a new user account after a safe boot. Premiere didn't crash on launch, so Adobe said, "It's a extension conflict and since we don't use extensions, Apple will have to fix it." I couldn't find any reference to "extension conflicts" in the knowledge base. So I was stuck. I decided to use a safe boot and the new user account, since it worked that way before. BIG MISTAKE!
My iMac got stuck in safe boot mode and wouldn't recognize any password for any user, let alone, me, the administrator. I finally had to pull the power plug, wait a few minutes and plug it back in before I rebooted and got it out of safe boot mode. Scary too, is it wouldn't let me fix the passwords from my Leopard install disk.
A couple people suggested I wipe my entire hard drive clean and reinstall everything all over again. Oh Yeah, like I really want to go through all this again with Adobe's authentication, activation, lectured and treated as if I'm a pirate after I spent all this money.
Although this page hasn't yet found the answer, I'm finding others who are going through the same aggravation as I am, and yes, misery loves company. According to the www, Apple no longer uses extensions since OS X. If it is some sort of software conflict, why aren't the MacPros having this trouble too?
I bought the Master Collection Suite, having enjoyed the Design Suite with no problems in CS3 on my iMac. 3rd party Photoshop plugins are not working well with CS4 and crash on save, even though they claimed they had the CS4 patch. So I spent more time in the Adobe forums and found so many frustrated users, seeking help for all kinds of crashes during some part of the production phase, including Windows platforms.
So now, I'm wondering if it's solely Apple's problem? Is Adobe passing the buck? Or both companies releasing software prematurely to beat the competition. Final Cut Studio is in direct competition with the Adobe Production Suite. Meanwhile, the consumer is caught in the middle and Apple and Adobe's professional reputations suffer accordingly. Appreciate any insight.

  • Third party drives in Macbook pro 15, early 2011 - beachball/EFI trouble ?

Hello - I am considering upgrading from my 2009 pro 15, to the i7 2011 model.
As I had trouble with using a third part harddrive in the 2009 model ( beachballs, had to downgrade to EFI 1.6 ). I'd like to know if this is an issue on the 2011 models ? I am thinking of buying the cheaper 500MB model, and putting into it WD 750GB black drive.
    Thanks for any info, Paul.

but i am aware of the problems with heating.
Heat is only a problem if it exceeds the engineering design parameters of the MBP.  Internal temperatures of 90°c+ are actually 'normal' depending upon what types of applications are in use.  Certainly additional cooling would be helpful, but based on general experience to date, it is not essential.
Most heating 'problems' are a reflection of users not understanding how the thermal aspects are handled in a MBP.  In rare situations a MBP can overheat but temperature sensors will initiate a shut down preventing lethal damage to the MBP.  When one understands the range of temperature variation the a MBP can operate in, then the 'problem' evaporates.

  • Installing OS X 10.4.8 on a third-party drive

I only have 2GB of disc space left on my iMac and would like to install iLife.
The installer will not alllow me to install on my back-up 120GB ACOM data drive.
Can I install OS X 10.4.8 on my ACOM drive without conflict with my iMac internal drive running 10.4.8.
In other words, can I have Mac OS X running on two drives simultaneously ?

    Hi wallyology;
May I welcome you to the Apple Discussion Forums.
I think you are going to have much larger problems then not being able to install iLife with only 2 GB of free disk space. When you run the free disk that low you are leaving yourself open to poor performance and possible file corruption.
You don't need to install OS X again. My suggestion would be to move your music and photos to the other drive. Hopefully that should give you enough free space to install iLife.
But you do that I would strongly suggest that you boot from your install DVD and use Disk Utility to repair you system disk before doing anything else.

  • Looking for third party driver for Bentley Nevada 208P data acquisition unit.

We have a Bentley Nevada 208P data acquisition unit used with their Adre system (software/hardware). We would find it benifitial to utilize it on another application other than monitoring proximitors, and do some calculations on the voltage signals received outside Bentley's Adre system software. We are using LabView on other applications. Has anyone tried this?

From what I can find about this instrument it looks as though it communicates via Parallel port. I don't think NI has anything which is specific to this instrument, but if Bentley Nevada publishes the command set/communication specs you could probably use VISA to communicate with it (unfortunately they won't allow access to their manuals online without a password so I can't find out anything more specific).
    Best of luck,

  • Crazy JNDI Problem... (Third Party DB Driver Effects Lookup???) (OAS 10g)

Ok folks, I need some help here...
    The scenario is this...
I have a simple web app (one jsp) which is used as a "status checker" to ensure that all the session beans we expected to be deployed are actually deployed and that they can be looked up with JNDI and run some small status routine... That war file for that app is included in the ear file with all of the session ejb jar deployments...
Now, the collection of session beans references three different datasources at one time or another... 2 of which are oracle databases and 1 is a DB2 database...
    Lets name them as follows...
    OracleDataSource1
    OracleDataSource2
    DB2DataSource
Now, if I configure the three datasources in the oracle standalone OC4J 10g datasource file and deploy the ear file to standalone OC4J 10g, all of the lookups work, and it successfully uses the datasources... no problems at all...
Ok, so now I try to deploy the ear on OAS 10g using the enterprise manager console, and deployment works fine...
If I run the app before configuring the datasources, of course the lookups work, but the status routines of certains beans fail because they are not able to look up the datasources... no big deal, just start adding the datasources...
I configure OracleDataSource1 and rerun... now things still work, the lookups for all the beans works fine, and some pass now, but others still want the other datasources...
Now configure OracleDataSource2 and rerun... as before, things all work great but there are still complaints looking for the DB2DataSource from a couple of the routines...
    Herein lies the problem...
I configure DB2DataSource and rerun, and boom, my program crashes claiming that the lookup of the bean failed...
Now mind you, these beans have all been looked up numerous times during previous runs, and absolutely nothing has been changed with the application... in fact, even the beans that wanted the DB2DataSource were looked up successfully and then just complained of no datasource during their status routine execution...
It's just that once I configure the DB2DataSource, all of a sudden my lookups don't work... I have tried commenting out a couple of the beans, and regardless of which lookups are commented out, it still fails saying it can't find any of the beans, even if the beans i'm trying to look up don't use the DB2DataSource, it doesn't seem to matter...
The InitialContext used for the lookup uses the default "new InitialContext()" constructor and the lookups work fine when the DB2DataSource is not configured, but once it is, the lookups fail saying the objects are not found...
I have consulted with a few other developers here, and noone can seem to understand why this behavior is happening... I have added debugging statements to print the contents of the context's environment, and it is always empty regardless of whether the lookups pass or fail...
The ONLY difference I can see with this DB2DataSource is that it uses an external 3rd party driver... The oracle connections use a driver which was packaged with the OAS installation... I feel pretty strongly that it has to do with the driver because if I have the DB2DataSource configured (causing the failure) and then I edit that datasource to say that it should us the oracle driver, miraculously it causes the lookups to work again, except now I get the error saying the oracle driver doesn't like my DB2 jdbc url...
I'm sorry for the long post, but I'm hoping that at least one person has encountered this before... I cannot think of any reason why the configuration of that datasource with the third party driver would cause these problems, especially when the exact same configuration and setup DOES work with standalone OC4J 10g, even with the DB2DataSource configured... ????? And the fact that the lookups work fine until that datasource is configured really blows my mind... i wouldn't think the datasource configuration should have anything to do with whether the lookups of the session beans succeed or not... hahaha...
Any help would be great... I'm pullin my hair out here... :)
    Thanks,
    -Garrett

No, I have not asked on the oracle forums yet... :)
It seems that the cause is the driver itself... if I set a different driver for the datasource configuation, the lookups work but it just complains about the driver not being correct for the individual beans...
I have found some documentation claiming that there is an OAS version of the DB2 driver, as well as a Merant version, but I can't seem to find jar files for either...
Does anyone know where I can download the "YMdb2.jar" file? Supposedly this contains the DB2 DataDirect driver that I need...
    Thanks,
    -Garrett

  • Third party JDBC Driver and Domain Extension

Hi everyone, I'm using a third party driver to acess some of the legacy databases in my company. I'm adding them to Weblogic's (v. 10.3.3.0) Classpath by setting the EXT_PRE_CLASSPATH in the setWLEnv.sh file. Everything worked fine so far, until I had to extend my domain to acomodate new settings. The Configuration Wizard crashes in the middle by saying "A fatal error Has Occurred. This Application will terminate". By inspecting the logs I saw that the Wizard tried to search my Data Source which used the third party driver and couldn't find the Driver Class. I would like to know if there is a better way to add the library to the Weblogic's Classpath or someway to workaround this issue during the extension. In my current situation I'm having to erase the data source, extend the domain and reconfigure the data source, which is big trouble !
Any help will be appretiated ! Thanks
PS: I've also tried to add the third party driver's JAR in the CLASSPATH inside config.sh file but unfortunately the error was the same !

You can place your jar files in the domain lib directory.
WebLogic uses a separate classloader to load classes from the domain lib directory. This classloader
is a child of the system classloader, and a parent of the application classloaders. The classes and
resources in any .jar file placed in the directory is automatically available to all applications.
Note, however, that the domain lib classloader does not support redeployment, dynamic reloading, or FastSwap, and cannot
refer directly to code in the application classloaders. But i think that this is not a problem, you just want your
thrid party JDBC driver to be availlable for your applications.

  • Adding third-party SSD drives to Xserve

Has anyone tried this? I would like to buy a new Xserve and migrate to 10.6, but since my application would benefit greatly from SSDs, I would like to buy build an Xserve with a SSD boot drive, and two SSD drives in RAID1. Since Apple doesn't offer SSDs as a drive bay option, has anyone here successfully done it on their own?
    ...Rene

Yes, I can't see a reason either why a third-party drive (e.g., http://www.plianttechnology.com/lightning_ls.php ) be used. I would just like to hear from someone who has actually done it on a the newer Nehalem Xserves. My application is very database bound (many small, random reads and writes), and I think it would benefit greatly from an SSD.
