i have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8. i have installed iOS 8 (upgrade and clean install) and set my iPhone as new.
i am wondering why i don't see this option.
thank you for the reply,

Third-party keyboards are in the App Store. To use one, download it, then run the app. Then you can go to Settings->General->Keyboard-Add New Keyboard and you will see it ready to enable.

  • Third party keyboard not working correctly.

I have hooked up a Kensington PilotBoard USB keyboard to my G4 PB 17". The regular keyboard keys (letters, numbers, shift keys) work but the function keys do not, and none of the key commands work. I've loaded the keyboard software, but when I open it, it indicates that no keyboard is detected.
Incidentally, I could not find the software on the Kensington website with the same model number (#64378), so I'm wondering if that could be it. Also, the regular keyboard on the laptop works fine.
Another observation: I'm still running Panther, but a friend who is running Tiger said his computer opened up a dialog box when he plugged in an older third party keyboard which helped him to match up the keyboard. Do I need to upgrade my operating system software?
Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why are my third party keyboards not showing up?

I have an iPhone 5S running iOS 8.0.2 . So recently, my third party keyboards on iOS 8 have not been working. When i select to use the third party keyboard (e.g. SwiftKey, Swype, TouchPal) the keyboard window does not slide up, or in the case of the search bar on the home screen a gray box slides up in place of the keyboard. It started in iOS 8.0.0 but i figured iOS 8.0.2 would help fix the problem, but the problem persists. I have tried removing the keyboard from settings, as well as deleting the keyboards and reinstalling them, but nothing seems to be working. Any help would be much appreciated

I'm not sure how true this is..... Then again I'm not sure I totally understand this whole cloud thing yet. But I have 742 photos on my photo stream on my iPhone and only 144 of them on my iPad. I turned off photo stream on the iPad and turned it back on and it loaded even less then the original 144 pics. I'm at a loss. They were all synced with my iPad until recently.  And if this statement is true about syncing only the new ones since turning on photo stream then my iPad photo stream would have loaded zero pics. What happened?

  • Third party keyboards not showing after installing them

I have installed multiple third party keyboards, however none of them are showing up on my keyboard. I'm only showing the original keyboard and don't have the option to switch. The globe doesn't show either.
Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?
    Thanks.

Yes. I have installed them within settings and  allowed full access. I have even deleted the English keyboard, so just the 3rd party is showing, but that doesn't even work.

  • In iOS8, my third party keyboards are working with every app except for the standard "Messages" app.  How do I fix this issue?

I recently updated to iOS8 and downloaded a few third party keyboards.  These keyboards are usable and available with all apps except for the "Messages" app.  The third party keyboards don't even show up as an option while typing a text message or an iMessage.  I have allowed these keyboards Full Access and have turn off Guided Access.

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • Third Party keyboard- possible to "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys"?

I've got a 3rd party Anker slim mac keyboard (http://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Bluetooth-Wireless-Keyboard-Tablets/dp/B005ONM DYE).
I really need to be able to use the F7 and F8 keys for my audio program (Pro Tools 10), but they always do the consumer-keys actions (rewind/play in itunes). Everywhere I look says to go to System Preferences and select the "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" button, but since I have a third-party keyboard, that option does not exist. Using an applescript to try and do it anyway doen't work either. The closest I've gotten is using the freeware FunctionFlip, but that requires me to press and hold the Fn key to use them as function keys. I don't want that.
Is there ANY way, official or third party, free or paid, that I can get this to work without buying a new keyboard?
    Thanks!

  • IOS 8 Missing third party keyboards in some apps

I have iOS 8.02 installed on an iPhone 5S. Have also installed third-party keyboard applications (Swype, Swiftkey, Minuum), however, they only appear in some of the applications. The third-party keyboards are missing from the Messages, Notes and Reminders applications. It works perfectly in Mail and Safari. This same issue occurred with IOS 8.0.
I have installed the same keyboards on another iPhone 5s and an iPad 3,  on these devices the keyboards work perfectly on all applications. These are using IOS 8.0.
Have tried uninstall, reinstalls and resetting the device. Also did a restore and device reset and nothing seems to fix this.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. IPhone 5S has third party keyboards working in safari but not other apps (8.02). IPad with 8.02 has them working everywhere. Any ideas?

  • Using third party keyboards in native Apple apps on iOS 8

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 5S, running iOS 8(and recently installed 8.0.2).  I was excited about getting to use third-party keyboards, but for some reason it is not working for me.  For whatever reason, I can use these keyboards (I've tried many, all to the same effect) in other apps such as Chrome or Facebook, but on any of the native Apple apps (Notes, Reminders, but especially Messages and Mail where typing is most needed) I am unable to select them.  In fact, the little globe you click and hold to make the different keyboards come up isn't even on my keyboard.  I've looked around a little and tried some fixes (uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting all other keyboards, restarting the phone, turning off AssistiveTouch, etc.) but have had no luck.  Has anyone else experienced this, and more importantly, has anyone found a solution?  I was hoping the 8.0.2 might address it but nothing has changed.
    Thank you!

  • Third party keyboards unavailable in iMessage

I have installed a couple of third party keyboards to experiment with in iOS8.  Specifically, I'm toying with SwiftKey and Swype.
I have installed them properly and they work fine on multiple apps, but for reasons I cannot figure out, they cannot be accessed in iMessage.  In fact, I do not even get the globe icon there that you would need to switch to a different keyboard.
Is anyone else seeing this?  How can I troubleshoot?  I've done all of the obvious stuff like resetting the phone, deleting and re-adding keyboards, etc.

Thanks for the heads up..  It doesn't work in Notes either..  I noticed last night that it also doesn't work when creating a calendar entry either.
So the apps so far that DON'T work:
    Messages
    Notes
    Calendar

  • Third-party keyboard caused error when shifting in iMessage

I Just upgraded to iPhone 6 plus and immediately install the 8.0.2. When using iMessage, the third-party keyboard caused an error when shifting between keyboards as in the picture. The selection animation was shifted to the left beyond the screen. The problem was gone when I deleted the third-party keyboards (fleksy and riffsy gif). The error also did not occur in email app or Safari.

  • Ios 8 third party keyboard issue

downloaded third party keyboard does not even show up in any of the native IOS apps - Message, Mail, Safari etc
Swiftkey worked well in all other apps other than native apps.
Anybody have same issue or is this only me?
I double checked and the third party keyboard has full access right turned ON in Settings.
    thanks

It is already in the normal place, so there is undock. When I tried docking and undocking or even splitting and merging nothing happens !!

  • Third party keyboard hiding text in messages

after installing third party keyboards( swiftkey, swype,) I found that when going into  a message, the keyboard does not automatically push the text up and I have to scroll to see the messages hidden by the keyboard. Does anyone else experience this or have a fix? Obviously this is in ios 8.

I am experiencing the same issue with swiftkey.  I have only noticed this happening within the stock messages app.  I reached out to swiftkey and they informed me that this is an issue with iOS 8 and not with third party keyboards.  I am hoping this will be addressed with iOS 8.1.

  • Third Party Keyboard Function Keys

I have bought a third party keyboard (Razer Anansi) for my MacBook Pro, and I cannot get the the function keys (f#) work as normal keys. I have checked the option "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in keyboard preferences, but it seems to only effect the keyboard on the macbook. any ideas how i can solve this problem?

  • Third-Party Keyboard on Lockscreen

I am using iOS 8.0.2 and have noticed that if I remove the default IOS keyboard and install any third-party keyboard and set it as the default, I can not respond to Messages from the Lockscreen.
I get a blank portion of the screen where the keyboard should be.
Any help in resolving this would be helpful.
