Anyone used presets from either Aperture Presets or Apple Aperture Presets? Wondering of their worth the $$ or ???

Your EXS24 instruments and samples need to be re-linked, otherwise this delay will happen every time and it will drive you nuts.
Logic used to have a feature called Project Manager which did this. What happens is this:
The .exs files (instruments) contain info about where the samples are located. When you get 3rd party stuff, the paths that are written into the .exs files might look like this:
Fred's huge drive/Samples for products/Section01/Bass samples/ etc etc
Because your drive doesn't have any of these file paths, Logic scans your whole system to locate the samples.
The only real option is provided by Redmatica (www.redmatica.com)
You need ProManager or EXSManager. Either one will re-write all the file paths and sort out this problem. You need to read the instructions for the process to be successful.

Third party presets for battery 3 migrate to battery 4

I own battery 3 and logic 9 and Made presets of kits all for my BATTERY 3 in logic so theyre right there in my lib in Logic 9 .... Now i got into this battery 4 as well as LOGIC X..... all i want to do it make my battery 3 logic presets work for battery 4 .... I found the B3 presets and put them in a folder that seemed to have battery 4 see the presets but when i UPLOADED the battery 3 presets in battery 4 . The battery 4 would crash the program everytime when trying to load a B3 third-party preset in B4..... is there any converting i neeed to do the files from b3-b4 does anyone know anyway or even if its compatible to do such things... again incase i am unclear.... I want Battery3 third party presets that i made in logic 9 to now work and be accesed on logic X and battery 4....i know this is not a battery forum or native instruments forum... so for the people who want to help by saying oh i logic not battery.... atleast tell me where the third party presets folder "path" would be for Battery 4 when making presets in logic x ..... soo please let me rock out with this logic x and use my presets that i spent dys n days making.... as it is i cnt use jalf my plug ins with this 64 bit deal.... ATLEAST someone help me to get my battery 4 to open the same ish as my battery 4 ...Again please some help here...

EXS Freezes when loading third party presets/audio files

Hello,
I am using Logic 8 with OS 10.6.8, macbook pro
The EXS factory presets load fine for me. I put a preset bank in the EXS preset folder/area and the samples for it on my system drive. When I choose any preset from there, the EXS freezes trying to load the samples. It doesnt get even get to one sample.
I have tried:
Reinstalling
Removing the preferences
Juggling the memory setting the EXS
Anyone able to shed some light??

About third party presets

There are lots of preset packages around now for Aperture 3, and some of them look pretty interesting. How are they put together - and is there any risk in installing them, apart from the obvious one (occasionally) of poor taste?

Hello all,
I can't open a PP project without this error message appearing:
"The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead. To continue editing using the original preset, quit the application without saving the project, reinstall any third-party components that are required and reopen the project".
What I had been doing before this occurred was editing a PP project using ProRes sequences and multi-camera editing. Multi-camera was not working very well and after a few attempts to fix that I gave up and finished the job cutting 3 layers of video instead. AME refused to render the three finished sequences of over 1hr duration so rendered final videos from the PP sequences.
I tried deleting plists for AME, PP and QT, repairing disc permissions and rebooting but there was no improvement.
Client is satisfied for now but will want to come back to this job at a later date so decided to uninstall and re-install AME and PP in the hope both would be ready to work properly when needed again. AME works fine in conjunction with a different PP project but now I can't open the PP project in question without the above error message appearing.
Having searched the net it would seem that the problem may be caused by ProRes but I haven't been able to find a definitive solution for the problem. Does anyone know either:
1. How to fix this?
2. If I chose the "modified using a custom sequence setting", can I be sure that my sequences will look the same even if they don't use ProRes? The final deliverable format will be mp4 so as long as the overall look doesn't change then I can afford a change in the edit codec. It's just that with three sequences over an hour long, I don't want days of work to be ruined.
Other older PP projects of mine open and work fine.

Adobe web chat come up with a solution.
Open the PP project.
Export your sequence or project as a Final Cut Pro XML file.
Set up a new PP project.
Import the Final Cut Pro XML file.
This will get you back up an running.
Since getting back to editing this project I have found that some things will be lost or change in using XML:
You will lose position key framing, black video clips, dissolve fx, audio levels, audio dynamic fx, the ability to open a multi camera clip and change the camera view.
You will keep cut points, crop fx.
Not perfect but only took a couple of hours to save 3 days work.

Easy browsing the third-party plugin presets?

In Logic 7 there's nice instruments and nice presets.
But the best part is that you can use keys for previous/next setting.
Thatway it's easy to find the right sound.
Third-party plugins have different ways to browse the presets.
(every plug is different ****)
But I hate to use the mouse...
So is there a way to browse the presets in the same way for all the plugins??

Hello, I'm not a very accomplished JavaScripter, but have found that you can access some InMath at least in CS3. I only needed to be able to refresh the InMath styles from a script.
If you run this script...
app.menuActions.everyItem().name;
it will return the names of all the available menu actions. The list is quite long, but it includes some of the InMath actions. At least the ones you can assign keyboard shortcuts to. In my case, I needed to refresh the InMath styles from a script. So I found the name of the InMath menu action that was returned from the above script (Refresh All InMath Expressions) and was able to make a script that refreshed the styles like this.
app.menuActions.itemByName("Refresh All InMath Expressions").invoke();
However, I'm trying to figure out how to do this in CS2 because my client is still using CS2 and can't find the CS2 version of menuActions.
I think I read your other post about the find/change fillColor bug. I was stuck in the same place and now have it working thanks to the posted help. I was working on a script that would fix fractions based on their colors.

Standardise definition & selection method for ALL third party plugin presets!!!

Over at LogicProHelp there is a very useful topic relating to Logic presets - in which many users have spent time saving individual third party plugin settings as LOGIC presets... which is enormously helpful when selecting instruments etc because they can be selected using a keystroke etc and found within the Logic Library browser window - which is of course searchable!
These presets have then been uploaded to the forum for others to download.

Here's what I said - does anyone agree/disagree? Is this something that Apple should work on? For me it's a no brainer but I'd like to know what others think....
"MO 3rd party instruments that rely on mouse-clicks or anything more than one button press to change a preset are incredibly badly designed. It's massively frustrating and impedes creative flow to have to use a mouse, or press several keyboard buttons just to move from one sound to another. Native Instruments interfaces are amongst the worst offenders - you even have to MANUALLY specify what presets you want to use with specific MIDI Program Change messages - because the latter are the only way I know of using anything other than the NI interface to change sounds in their plugins.
The Logic Channel Strip settings saved along with 3rd party Plugin settings saved as Logic Presets have proved a recent revelation for me.
Now I can change instrument presets using a keystroke, a midi message, almost anything I want.
And then there's the Logic Library browser - now that so many sounds are saved as Logic Presets, the Logic browser window has become really powerful - being able to search my entire library for "bass" or a particular instrument name - REGARDLESS of which third party plugin is required to play the sound - IT JUST LOADS AND PLAYS!
Maybe I'm in the minority but I think of a sound I want first, NOT which instrument I should load and then browse through - the latter is kind of backwards for me.
I really think that we users should pressure Apple and plugin developers to provide Logic (and indeed other DAWs) presets with ALL of their products because the amount of effort on their part is minimal compared with countless end-users doing this task manually over and over. The current situation is ridiculous.
DAWs are incredibly powerful these days but the lack of a plugin preset/sound library definition standard is quite crippling to work flow.
I mean if there were a STANDARD LIBRARY DEFINITION such as with Native Instrument libraries or Apple loops where sounds are defined universally and supplied as such in a common preset it would revolutionise sound discovery/selection within DAWs.
Kind of like a document management system that applies to ALL plugins, by ALL developers and the installer for a plugin would then add all its presets to the management system/common library"

Sure, I could give you lists of plugins for each of those particular scenarios I addressed.
In that specific case, for one example, Spectrasonics instruments for a few years did not support the hosts' save/recall settings function (at least in Logic), and when contacting them and asking why Stylus RMX could not recall settings saved via Logic's preset system I was given the explanation that it wasn't supported for technical reasons.Basically, it only save/recalled a small handful of settings, the rest were lost, meaning it was impossible for quite some time to use the Logic's save/load settings feature to save user presets, you had to use the plugin's own internal save features. The hosts save/load feature only saves the state of the plugin - it can't be used to load Loop 14 into part 2, for example. It's the whole plugin, or nothing. More workarounds in terms of how you organise your loading/saving of different types of data.
There are other instruments too, and ones I've beta tested where I've got into the technical details and had to have the preset format changed or simplified because hosts had difficulties storing the data correctly. It's quite a complex thing, in the main, and different instruments implentation of preset handling mean that the whole thing is full of workarounds, compromises, or plain failure to use the feature completely.
Other instruments, such as Minimonsta, lose functionality when saving via the host - for example, you only get the meta patches and patch morphing functions when saving via the plugin's own file format, and that stuff doesn't happen when saving via the host.
I could go on and on about this - every develop has different requirements and they mostly all either do it very basically and rely on the host, or bypass the hosts save/load functionality and implement their own which they can be in control of and that will work across hosts and across platforms. For instance, there is little point having a beautifully organised Oddity library if all those sounds are now unavailable to me if I choose to work in Live...
That's why the whole preset thing is a complicated mess and isn't liable to be sorted soon.
There is a developer over on the PC trying to make a system to unify this stuff between plugins - it's PC only right now, and I forget the details this second, but it's acknowledgement that people recognise this whole thing is a mess and looking at ways to improve the situation.

I miss Soundiver in many ways. *Ideally*, I'd like one central method of storing my presets which will work cross-plugin, cross-host, cross-format and cross-platform that is a standard that all developers and hosts support, and that offers the main core features that developers need, from simple, single patches with names, up to full meta data, cataloging, organising, author and notes tagging and so on. You can still give the users a choice to use the individual plugin and individual plugin's gui for patch selection, but you can get far more standardised if you want, with the advantages that gives - and you don't have to export patches into the system, as it's developer supported, all presets for your instruments would be instantly available in the library, just as they are in the instrument directly.
But it's difficult to get developers to agree on much, these days - the most likely thing to happen is someone somewhere creates a cross-platform standard for this that gains momentum and that developers and hosts want, or *need* to support.

Dear Tal Sasson,
You can choose to make fields display only, required entry, optional, suppressed for a particular transaction. Choose either optional or required entry for the fields that you want to enter (uncheck display only option).
You can achieve this in 2 ways.
1. in IMG under
Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Purchase Order -> Define Screen Layout at Document Level
2. You can use transaction SHD0.

In the SAP Reference IMG, you can create transaction variants. Choose Basis Components -> Application Personalization -> Tailoring of Application Transactions -> Configure Transaction-Related Display Values for Fields (Transaction SHD0). Transaction variants allow you to preset values for fields in a transaction, set field attributes, or hide entire screens.
To execute a transaction variant, you define a variant transaction using the Transaction Maintenance transaction (SE93).
Once you have entered a transaction code and short description, choose transaction type Transaction with variant (Variant transaction).
To define a variant, enter the name of the transaction and the name of the variant. You can then use the new transaction code to start the special variant of the transaction.

Third Party Brush Issue

I Installed Photoshop CS5 on my Computer.
Went to a Third Party Obsidian Dawn Website
I Dowmloaded Skin Texture Brushes.
I Unziped the File to a Brush Folder.
In the Brush Folder I Copied the Skin Texture Brushes.arb.
Went to Drive C Left Click on It.
Double Left Click on Program Files.
Double Left Click on Adobe.
Double Left Click on Photoshop CS5.
Double Left Click on Presets.
Double Left Clickon Brushes.
Then Pasted Skin Texture Brushes.arb in to Brushes.
I Opened up Photoshop CS5 Left Click on Brushes.
Viewed the Brush Listings the Skin Texture Brushes Displayed
they all Worked just Fine.
I Had to Reboot My Computer.
Then Reinstalled Photoshop SC5.
Installed the Third Party Download as Mention Above.
Then I Instaled Skin Texture Brushes.arb as Mention Above.
When I Viewed the Brush Listings the Skin Texture Brushes Did Not Display.
I Tried Several Times but no Results
Could some One Help with this Problem

Cant find "ambience"third party plug in inside logic x

I downloaded the ambience reverb third party plug in and am having trouble getting it into logic. what are the steps to making this happen? I cant find it in the Audio units manager as well. A step by step instruction would be much appreciated please...

Btw.. though that is a nice simple free reverb plugin.. you will find the free ones included with LPX far better imho.. especially Space Designer..... Try some of it's Warped Effects presets.. to see just how flexible and 'different' it can get..... and it works with all tracks.. not just Stereo ones...

Controling third party plug-ins

How can I use controllers +in mainstage 2+ to control third-party plug-ins like omnisphere and reaktor 5? I know I can MIDI-map directly to these plug-ins, but then every time I change preset within the plug-in, all the MIDI-mappings are gone. So basicly, I`m looking for a way to keep my MIDI-mappings through preset-changes withing plug-ins. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi, I was kinda curious about this and decided to d/load the Reaktor 5 demo and tried it out. No problem mapping screen controls from Mainstage to R5 knobs or sliders and it remembered all the connections between each patch just fine.
I didn't do anything special just the usual click the Mainstage control then mapped the parameter to a control in Reaktor 5 and it worked fine even with the R5 demo. Maybe you can provide a little more detail on how you tried to configure?

Third-party effects/plugins for x-

Ok... so i've got my xtrememusic. I love the equalizer, the crystalizer, the eax modes. I love how they don't degrade the sound one bit while doing their thing, unlike Winamp dsp/eq plugins.
but my question is... why haven't i seen one single third-party dsp plugin that could take advantage of xfi's hardware and turn it into something more than a one-trick pony? it's got all this computational power, so don't tell me there isn't a way to actually make use of it!
so... are there any such things floating around? has creative blown it again on the software side and hasn't even made an sdk to do the things i'm talking about? are developers simply uninterested in xfis for now and i should just be patient?

on my audigy 2 in the audio console under EAX i just noticed there's an option for "custom" presets. how may i acquire these? and does the xfi have this too?

Integration of HR Masterdata with the third party Recruitment system

Hi folks,
I was doing some analysis regarding the process of integrating the HR Masterdata with the thrid party recuritment system. One of the process is exporting all the new hire data coming from the third party soffware( the entire hiring process will happen in this sytem) into the HR Masterdata.
From SPRO documentation I found there are two ways one is Inbound IDOC and the other is through interface. Since we do not have EDI service, we have to with interface, however it should not be an automated process. Because, the person getting hired has to have the intial procedure completed before hiring process occus and his data is entered into HR Masterdata. Hence the data coming from the interface file has to be processed manually
How to configure this process in HR? The version we are using is 4.6C How can this be done?
Any thoughts or ideas or leads would be really helpful.

i think the integration between SAP Recruitment and SAP Administration would be a bit more complicated as it is supplied from the SAP Recruitment tables which you probably would have to fill.
As promised I had a look to t752f. Run the following code to add lines into the table. After the values were inserted you can run PA48 without any other configuration. You will see an new line which you can select and than choose the Hire button. The system will guide you through the hiring screens and set the Name fields as default values.

The function module us part of the standard HR component and offers many fields to preset in T752F. If you supply an existing EmployeeId the PA48 transaction will suggest you to do an organizational change when you choose the "hire" button. If you do not fill the value the system sets a dummy Id and suggests a hiring.
The function module is RFC enabled so if you can call an RFC from your external recruitment application you can fill the T752f table. If that works and you need additional fields just copy the module and add whatever you want.

QuickTime breaking third-party DV capturing.

If I try to use a third-party DV capturing application (like BTV), it crashes if I try to go to the video setting dialog.
This has been happening since I installed QuickTime 7 (or the second update for it). I don't know if it is doing it or not.
Is there any possible fix for this?

A couple weeks ago I captured my first footage shot at 72060p in a JVC250, the deck into Final Cut (6.0 with current updates)
I captured it into Final Cut using the following settings:
Sequence Preset: HDV-720p
Capture Preset: HDV
Device Control: HDV FIrewire 59.94 fps NDF
Today when I went to capture the capture screen came up with the message "Unable to initialzie capture device/device is not connected or the capture preset is not set up correctly.
I went back to my standard video DV24p settings and the capture and deck control is no problem. I also tried using the 3 Apple Codec presets for capture. Anyone? I'd be interested in what your set up is. Thanks.
