This is f'ing rediculous - need a replacement activation key

Logic Pro 7.1 just asked me to enter an activation key. I don't have the installation guide any more. Anyone know how to get another one? I tried emailing Apple, but you need a support ID, which is located on the Logic 7.0 installation guide, which I also don't have any more.
(I should mention, I installed the Logic Pro 7.1 a few weeks ago and have been running it fine until today).
Evidently we need to have the XS Key, an activation key code, and a support ID in order to run this program. I'm about ready to go back to Performer and Reason at this rate. Anyone have any ideas? I managed to get past the dialog box by clicking "Run Demo", but I don't think that'll last long.

I didn't think I had to enter a code when I upgraded to 7.1, which is why I was so surprised to be suddenly asked for one three weeks later.
To clarify more, I bought Logic Pro 7.0 many months ago from store.apple.com and the 7.1 update (also from store.apple.com) a couple weeks ago. Been using each since I bought them on a regular basis, but have managed to misplace the installation guides (which are, for most software, useless anyway).
I tried the XSKey Update, which said my XSKey was fine.
Has anyone else been asked for a code when installing, or weeks after installing, the 7.1 upgrade?
I'll try the obvious next, actually "calling" apple (some things don't come so clearly late at night in the middle of a project when your studio's core program is threatening to give you hours or days of downtime .

    Probably will never ever think of buying a locked phone from AT&T cause its one of the worst system integrations ever that these companies could think of.
    The entire problem started when I put in a request with at&t to unlock my iphone 4s (ios7) which did get approved. I performed the entire instructions they asked me to do, which is to backup and restore. After doing those instructions my iphone gave me an error message below

    Basically saying that at&t hasn't still unlocked the iphone which a really helpful apple executive was able to confirm. I initiated another unlock process from at&t in order to unlock the iphone, just to be sure that its not something wrong from my end. The nice at&t lady stayed on chat with me to unlock the iphone step my step while I was calling the apple tech too. And the apple tech confirmed again that the iphone is locked to at&t.
    Now, just a few minutes ago I tried another restore to see if any progress is being made and to my surprise I got an error message saying
    Replacement Needed. This iphone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest apple store or authorized service center.
    I feel like I am just going around these two different "money hogger" companies which set certain rules and regulations to screw a regular phone buyer. I purchased this iphone in USA and trying to unlock in India, is it really this hard to simply unlock a device.
    For now I am going to try to call a apple office in india (apprently we don't have very many out here) and see if they can help me. But any other assistance regarding unlocking an iphone 4s would be helpful. I have however, tried checking IMEI.info, called up apple, talked to at&t (which always say go talk to apple) I do have a case number from apple as well in case an apple executive reads this discussion forum (case number: 566383594)

    Then you connected the phone to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. You clicked on the phone's name in iTunes, then clicked "Backup Now". - Yes
    When that finished you clicked "Restore iPhone" (NOT "Restore Backup") - Yes
    Are you with me so far? - Yes.
    And @ Varjak is right that after the 3rd restore I get the replacement error. 
    Plus I have NEVER jailbroken the iPhone. To give you another update, I spoke to a really nice apple tech in India who was atleast able to get me out of the replacement error by doing a recovery mode option. However, the lastest restore still gives me the same error

    So basically it sounds like you bought an abused used iPhone and somehow that makes the phone subpar because dispite the abuse it should still last forever and look like new? Batteries don't last forever, even under ideal conditions, so your expectatoins are unrealistic. Take it in and have an estimate done.

  • Do I need to replace my battery? Or how do I fix this solution?

    My iPod 4th generation shows that it is charging when I plug it in. When I unplug from full charge, and I use it. 5 minutes later, or even less, it shows that it goes down to 20% Also, sometimes when I plug in my iPod, it shows that it is charging, then all of a sudden it goes down to red charge (20% charge).     It's fairly common for headphones after extensive use (5+ years).  If you have another set of headphones (any type with same connector), try it with the iPod to determine if the fault is on the headphones or on the iPod.  Or you can try the same headphones with another device, to see if they are working fine or you get the same audio problem.

    If you are in the US, some Apple stores have the ability to replace a screen, some do not. If they can, the cost is only $149. If they cannot, then without Apple Care + you would need to purchase an out of warranty replacement at a cost of $269. If you do have Apple Care +. you can make 2 total exchanges over the 2 year life of Apple Care + with a $69 deductible.

    I need to replace the 2TB system hard drive in a Pavilion p7-1206 with a 120GB SSD. What is the best procedure for transferring the Win 7 OS to the much smaller SSD? I created the recovery disc set. After starting the Recovery Discs to install the OS on the SSD an error message said that SSD capacity was less than the original disc and stopped the install process. Do I need a procedure that will reproduce all 4 partitions on the SSD in working order or can some partitions be ignored?

    Try this
    Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
    Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time

  • Do I need to replace my Hard Drive?

    My Mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro recently was not able to boot on startup when I reset the NVRAM. I looked on the commands and there was something to do with a hard drive error. I had to reinstall OS X for me to use it again.
    Since then my computer has been unusably laggy at times and performance has dropped. YouTube and other videos will lag uncontrollably and Minecraft runs at about 1 FPS. I am also running bootcamp and problems are consistent on Windows 7 as well. Do I need to replace the Hard Drive or just completely reformat it and reinstall OS X from a bootable disk?

    You shoudn't consider replacing your drive unless you know that's the problem. AHT, to the best of my knowledge, does not do surface scans on drives and it can't tell you if you have bad sectors. It can, however, identify other problems so running tests on the system might help you.
    Other things to consider are the following:
    How much free disk space do you have? If you're running out of disk space the system will not be able to swap out properly or easily and your system will bog down.
    How much memory are you using? If you're using a lot then swapping will be rampant and your system will slow down.
    Are there problematic applications that don't work properly that are consuming too much memory or hitting your system with a lot of disk reads and writes?
    If you're using Mountain Lion, have you upgraded to 10.8.4? If not, do so. A lot of your problems may disappear.
    The easiest way to check the first 3 above is with Activity Monitor. You can find a good write up on it with the following link:

    I'm sure there are others on the web that are every bit as good as well. If you're still convinced your drive is the problem then check out this link for a list of drive testing tools:

    That list is pretty much the web's de facto standard list of reliable hard drive testing tools currently available for Macs, and it's reasonably up to date, unlike some of the other lists on the web that are 5 years old or older. I really wouldn't assume it's the drive until you check out other stuff first.

    1. You can use any 3.5" Sata drive, WD or Seagate would be good choices.
    2. Do not use "green" drives like the WD Blue series. WD Black are fine as are Seagates.
    3. The 2T green will work fine in the Intel iMac's. I always suggest using the quieter and cooler running Blue's or Green's in the iMac's.
    4. Personally I have upgraded the Hard Drive in several Early Core Duo's using both 320GB and 500GB WD Cavair Blue's.
    5. WD Caviar Blue or WD Caviar Green, they run cooler and quieter than the WD Black or Seagate's.
    6. I'm very happy with the WD Caviar Blue that replaced my factory installed 160GB Seagate HD a few months ago.

    i plan to purchase a new imac when they are actually shipped, in stores, and i know all my handicap assisted devises will work on it
