Thunderbird "eating" emails on some accounts, but not others

Greetings.
I'm currently playing tech support for my mother, who has been having issues with Thunderbird that I can't wrap my head around.
She has numerous email addresses all connected into Thunderbird. However, recently two of them have decided that once an email comes in, after a random period of time it will delete that email, removing it from existence entirely.
I tried moving a spam email (which is automatically moved to the trash) from the trash, into the inbox, but by the time I got to the inbox to check how long it lasted, it had disappeared into nothingness. It hadn't moved back into the trash, but instead was jut removed.
Considering one of these accounts is a customer support account, it's kind of important to be able to view emails for longer than the 15 or so seconds they're allowed.
I've gone through the settings/properties for Thunderbird and both accounts but was unable to find anything obvious that could be causing this.
Any and all help on this matter would be appreciated.

I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
    have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. In other words, clicking on the Matlab Command Window and typing "whos" or any other command/variable doesn't work.

  • My iPhone4 docks correctly with some devices but not others, please help!

    Firstly spologies if this is old news but sometimes its easier to 're-ask' than trawl thousands of pages!.....
    I have a 3-year old iPhone 4 that has developed a problem which i'm trying hard to solve;
    *Phone used to dock fine with anything and everything - this was about 1 year ago.
    *for no apparent reason it ceased docking with my Bose Soundock and a Logic3 accessory dock (connected to a hi-fi) at home
    *symptoms were; it would charge and operate as normal whilst docked but would not play music through either (the Logic3 dock did not acknowledge it was docked). Otherwise it would sync and connect normally with iTunes, etc. and connected fine when plugged into my car.
    *I reset it, restored it from back-up, updated/reinstalled iOS (this has since updated at least twice) with no other effects. Also checked and reset all settings.
    *I subsequently bought a Pure Contour dock as I was able to try it in the shop and my phone worked with it, plus it has Airplay anyway. I have since, in an attempt to find a bedside DAB radio/alarm dock that works with it, found that it works fine with some devices but not others with no rhyme or reason as to which.
    *2 days ago I changed out the docking port myself using a cheap replacement bought from Amazon, to see if it would cure.
    * now the problem is reversed! The Bose and Logic3 docks I have, that it wouldn't work on before, it now DOES....and the Pure dock and my car, which it DID work with before now fail to connect with it!
    *just to reiterate this, my wife's gen3 and gen5 iPods dock and work faultlessly with all devices mentioned....and mine had done previously.
    to my knowledge it is NOT;
    - a compatibility issue. The phone used to work fine on everything I had. Then it stopped. How's that?!
    - a connector issue. The male connectors on all docks haven't changed.......and the female connector in my phone has changed from liking selected devices to then liking the others!! (it is female after all ;-) !)
    -a software issue. iOS has been updated and the phone wiped and restored and all sorts so many times I can;t see how it can be!
    could it be a problem with the data exchange between phone and device when it is docked??
    or do I really need to try changing the port for an 'official' one??
    or is it just broken and that's that?!

    It's either a problem with the connector on your phone (dirt, lint, bent pin, corrosion) or with its connection to the motherboard inside. Cleaning the connector is a good place to start; either a dry toothbrush, air blast can or wood toothpick. Next inspect it carefully with a good magnifying glass or jeweler's loupe. If nothing turns up it is probably damage inside, which will be difficult to fix. Aren't you due for an upgrade about now? Your iPhone 4 is 3 generations out of date!

  • Since I downloaded Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have problems with my email. Some accounts do not work. Some do.

    Some accounts do work, others not. I have removed the not working accounts and than added them again, didnt fix the problem. For the record; all accounts work perfectly on my other devices, Ipad and Iphone.

    Yep, everything worked fine before Mavericks. I removed the account that didnt work at all and re-installed it, didnt work. All accounts work fine on my other devices like Ipad and Iphone, so it's not in the account itself.

  • Why does new 60g ipod download some songs but not others?

    I have a lovely new ipod and have inherited my son's itunes library on my XP user account. I removed all the stuff of his that I didn't want and was all set to download 600-odd tracks on to my new ipod. Unfortunately it only transfers about a third of the tracks on each album and unaccountably skips some altogether. Also, it will only transfer 50 or so songs and then "freezes" on a particular track. I then have to close down using Windows Task Manager, re-start the computer and delete the track in question before the repeating the whole miserable process. There must be a better way mustn't there?

    Thanks for the suggestions, but I ran updater and installed the latest itunes yesterday to no avail. Also I think it's unlikely to be an unsupported file type problem as some tracks and not others are transferred from the same album.

  • Citrix XenApp 7.6 & VDI Plugin works for some users but not others

    I have a customer with XenApp 7.6 and Lync 2013 SE. They have two users homed to the same pool, both with the same VDI client policy however on one account the VDI pairing works fine over Citrix XenApp, but the other the pairing fails. On both accounts I
    get prompted for the credentials, however the second account will not authenticate. I have tried domain\username, domain.local\username and [email protected] but all fail then I get the red cross through the VDI icon.
    This is all from the same Windows 7 machine, all user accounts are within the same AD domain.
    If anyone has seen similar before any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am banging my head against the wall!

  • Podcast has downloaded for some people but not others

    hello
    i have an established podcast we have been running for 3 years now. We've just reached our 54th episode and after i uploaded it the podcast it went through to the itunes store... i refreshed my podcast directory and it didnt download to my imacs itunes it also didnt download to my laptops itunes BUT it has downloaded to other subscribers. Ive asked a few people and some have the podcast others dont, the server may have gone downwehn i uploaded it but since then ive deleted of our website and server and reuploaded and i still have the same problem. the podcast is on our website fine and the direct download link is working... its in the itunes store and you can listen to it through the store on itunes but it doesnt seem to be downloading to everybody who has subscribed
    i really cant work out what has happened here?
    some people have tried subscribing from fresh and it seems to work for them, its just so random!?
    episode 54 is the issue. we havent uploaded anymore since as were worried it wont work again but are now getting a backlog of podcast and really need to get them out asap

    It works perfectly well for me, both in the Store and in iTunes when subscribing, so I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work unless you server is sometimes failing to answer requests, or is sometimes so slow that iTunes is timing out.

    There's nothing in the feed to cause this problem, but it doesn't contain the 'iTunes declaration' at the top or any itunes tags: so though it takes the information from the 'description' tag you will get no image (there is no 'itunes:image' tag) - as you've been running OK for three years you may not feel bothered about this.

    my new hp 1660 prints off of some websites but there are many that will not print.  What can I do to correct this and be able to print everythin I want to

    you the data string if you like. I've really never edited my system
    registry so I'm not sure what I'm doing.

  • Mail server working sending emails between user accounts but not to other (outside) email accounts?

    I am new to Mac OS X Server Mail and I am trying to set up.  I have successfully started the mail services and created 2 user accounts.  Those accounts can email each other back and forth, no problem; however, they cannot send/receive to other email addresses.  Anyone know why this would happen?

    this should give you some ideas where to look.
    Have in mind that you need to do DNS set-ups, need to have a static IP address ( or use a DynDNS service ),very likely also add MX records etc. etc.

  • Form opening for some users but not others

    I created a form with an area for the recipient to simply type their name, save the document and email it back.  This works for some but I have a user getting an error message:
    "This document does not allow changes to be saved.  Any changes you have made will not be included in the document when it's mailed.  Do you want to continue?"
    Could this be an issue with the user's Reader?  They cannot save or email the document once they type in their name.

    Reader XI is the first version of Adobe Reader that can save a filled in PDF form without any additional processing steps.
    Versions of Reader prior to version XI could not save filled-in forms. Version 7 with updates was the first version of Reader that could save forms for which special Extended Reader Rights were applied to.
    Which version of Reader are the users with problems using?
    If before version XI and version 7 or newer, then you need to apply Extended Reader Rights to the form. For users with version 6 or older, they will have to upgrade to a newer version of Reader.

  • My Tbird won't download from 2 accounts, but not others; nothing changed

    I have multiple email accounts, and generally access from Cricket broadband mobile device. I loved my Thunderbird until recently, when for no apparent reason 2 of the accounts stopped receiving downloads. I changed nothing. I attempted to download while on a wifi network, to see if that was part of the problem, but NONE of my accounts would download there.
    When I click Get Mail For..... it doesn't even give me a message at the bottom about connecting to Gmail or Netzero. I'm frustrated! Can anyone suggest anything to help me please?

    Perhaps you can provide anymore details about what's happening when you attempt to download messages, your email provider, error messages you may get, etc.

  • Cannot Retrieve referenced URL in wscript file from Local System Account, but not other accounts on the computer.

    I have a WScript File that includes an external resource (js file).
    It works on one computer and it does not work on another computer.
    If I run this file from a normal admin command prompt everything runs fine on both computers.
    If I run this file from the Local System account using PsExec it runs fine on one of the computers and throws an error "Cannot Retrieve referenced URL" on the other computer.
    The reason I want it to run from the Local System account is that it is executed from a Windows Service.
    Is there some setting or some way for the IE cache to get corrupt on the Local System account or something like that?

    First I'd check UAC settings, because I believe that can change how elevation works substantially.
    Second, I would check the versions of wscript.exe on both machines, both in System32 and SysWow, and I'd check for updates bypassing WSUS to make sure there's not something silly going on there (totally a shot in the dark, catch-all theory).
    Have you made any headway in the last few weeks?

  • Receive some mail, but not others from same person

    A friend has forwarded to me (3 times) an email from Pajamagrams.com, and I never receieve it. She tried forwarding other mail and I've received all of them just fine. I've looked in my Junk and Trash folders both on my MacBook Pro and on Mobile Me and can't find it anywhere. I checked my rules and don't see anything that would cause it to disappear. Her Outlook account shows the forwarded messages in her Sent box (Outlook on a PC. Verizon as the ISP). She even tried sending it with and without external content. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?

    Sorry, I tried to be as specific as possible. I'm using Apple's dot Mac "mail.me.com" for the incoming server. I'm not aware of any Spam filtering done on the server. As I mentioned, I do have a few rules set up, but I could not see anything in those rules that would have caused the emails sent to me to go any further than my trash. I don't have a Spam folder, but I've looked in the trash and junk folders on both my laptop and through my .Mac account on-line. Since I'm receiving other "similar" types of emails forwarded from the same person I doubt whether Apple is going to help. My main goal with this post was to see if anyone else has had similar problems.

  • DR8 A2 will read some discs but not othere

    Ive recently had to completely rebuild my system due to a fault with the cpu.  On the old system, the drive work absolutely fine. But since Ive got this system up and running again (slightly higher spec) both of my DVD drives are playing up (one isnt an MSI drive but it may be relevant).
    With some of my discs (including important ones like MS Office etc) the disc will not auto run. When I open My Computer to manually start the setup the name of the DVD drive the disc has been inserted into changes to CD Rom Drive as opposed to what it should be. When I actually try to open the disc this way I am prompted to insert a disc.
    Im not sure whether this is the drive or something else. The other possibility I thought of was the drivers installed for the chipset. I have an MSI K7N2 Delta2 motherboard (nForce 2 chipset) and have installed the latest nForce drivers from NVIDIA. These drivers did include an IDE driver, so maybe that is the problem.

  • How do I get all of the music on my computer to transfer to my Iphone?  For some reason, itunes has picked up some songs but not others.  example, I have several CD's loaded in which only 1 or 2 songs from the CD shows up in itunes.

    I have about 70 Cd's loaded on my computer as I had previously owned another MP3 device before I got enamored with the Ipad and Iphone. My problem is itunes will not recognize all of this music.  To give a specific example, I have an old Bon Jovi Cd "crossroads" , itunes only recognizes 2 songs off the Cd.  How can I get itunes to recognize these songs?  They do not show up on itunes anywhere but if i go to my music folder I can locate the songs and it even shows the itunes logo but, the songs will not play with itunes.  I've got a few hours of music i would like to have on my iphone. Can anyone please help me with this?

    It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
    Use your backup copy to put everything on the computer, then sync.
    If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone to your computer - File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
