Thunderbolt Not Receiving Texts From Other Carriers

I installed the official firmware release on June 15, 2011. Since then my phone spontaneouly reboots more than ever and I am completelu unable to receive texts from other carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, ect). I am able to send messages out only. I have rebooted the phone (when it's not doing it all by itself) and tried the *228, Option 2 to update the PRL. No change. Is there any fix for this?

I believe you'll have to take it to a Verizon store, as the *228 method ruins the SIM card for the Thunderbolt

Devour - Can't Receive Texts from other Carriers

Lately i've been having issues with receiving texts from other Carriers. I've already reset my phone multiple times, both hard and soft. All applications were deleted, i deleted conversations, wiped all conversations, re-texted the person, and tested who gets what.
Basically in a nutshell,
T-Mobile, i can occasionally get texts from.
Sprint, AT&T, Virgin, and any and all subsidiaries of forementioned carriers send replies i cannot get.
Every carrier can receive my message. i cannot receive theirs.
Verizon does work - for send and receive.
voicemails do work, i can leave one, and they can call me.
i've tested every method suggested over and over. im at the end of my rope. My job requires that my phone can receive messages from the employees and bosses, and all of them aren't Verizon-based. Somebody, please help. No, getting a new phone isn't feasible, and all my other phones are broken, except this one...and this was the first phone i actually owned three years ago.

I'm not receiving texts from other iphone users

I cannot receive texts from certain people in my contact list. My imessaging is turned off and when I go to turn it on says "waiting on activation" so I attempt to sign in with my apple ID and password and it says please check your network connection. Its been doing this for days. It doesnt matter where I am, how many bars I have or if I'm connected to Wifi.
I am PRAYING someone can help me here since even the store cant.
If I dont get this figured out, I'll have no other choice but to uprade to Samsung.
Also since updating to the dreaded ios7 I cannot use Snapchat, and myinstagram and facebook do not integrate together.

If they are receiving that error message, it corrected and you are deregistered from iMessage

My text messaging is acting weird--I receive all of them except any from other iPhone users. Needless to say, this is very inconvenient. I don't know what happened, cause I've had the phone for a few months now, but hadn't had any issues until the last couple weeks. As far as I can remember, I haven't changed any settings or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

That was a asinine and catty response. I and many others have the same problem. turning off imessage is not an effective solution. I have turned off imessage, deactivated the phone with apple and wiped the phone clean. the problem persists.

Not receiving texts from US Cellular friends only

I am not receiving texts from US Cellular subscribers only. I have been told by my nice customer service people at Verizon that it is probably a US Cellular issue. This just isn't sitting well with me. I do seem to be receiving texts from other carriers (Boost, Verizon, AT&T). My iphone 4S is updated as far as I can tell. I've only had a couple of weeks and I have yet to receive any of the messages US cellular people have sent (so it's not like they are delayed, etc. I just do not receive them). I am very frustrated and do not want a different phone. The reason I changed to Verizon FROM US Cellular was for the iphone 4S. Feeling very disappointed and frustrated. Love all the other features of this phone, but as a phone (which is the purpose of the thing) it has been sub standard. Anyone else having problems receiving text messages?
I have tried : turning imessage off. rebooting phone. updating network etc (options 1 & 2). I can send messages to these same people and they receive them. They can call me, but when they send me texts they never reach me.

Not receiving texts from a Galaxy 4 mini on US Cellular provider network, but I get all other texts.

I am not receiving texts from a friend who owns a Galaxy 4 mini on US Cellular provider network, but I receive all other texts from other phones and other providers. She has never owned any Apple products, including an Apple iPhone. Other people she texts with receive her texts fine.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

That is definitely an unusual situation. I'm sure it's frustrating that it isn't working when you need it. Do either of you have trouble with texting anyone else? Try turning off Wi-Fi on both devices, and see if the problem persists or continues when using only the mobile network. Please keep us updated with this situation so we can help to resolve!

Not receiving texts from US Cellular phone

Starting yesterday 12/2, I stopped receiving texts from my husband's US Cellular phone. I got two random texts from him, but not the others he sent. I also sent him multiple texts and he never received any of them. Today, I received three texts from him this morning, but he sent more than that and he hasn't received any of the ones I sent him. I tried turning off my phone and leaving it off for awhile. I also did the second ios7 update on my iPhone 4. He believes it's an issue with my phone because he's receiving texts from other people through multiple carriers. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not receiving any error messages or anything out of the ordinary. All texts appear to go through and have the times sent next to them.

Recently started not receiving texts from one person - AT&T user, also HTC One

I recently started not receiving texts from one person. He also has an HTC One (older model) but has AT&T as his provider. We were texting back and forth last Friday morning (11/8) and then he called me and ever since then I have not received a single text he has sent. He is receiving all of mine and we can receive phone calls back and forth, but his text messages are not coming through. We have both tried restarting our phones and I have also tried deleting him as a contact and recreating it however nothing works. I checked to make sure he was not blocked (which I knew wasn't the case since I could receive phone calls from him as well), and even tried turning the "block contact" on and back off. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are using work arounds with google-talk and facebook messenger but it's very frustrated for me to not receive any of the texts that his phone is saying I am receiving.
It had started sporadically over the past few weeks where I would miss a text from him every once in awhile, but now I am receiving nothing. He is the only one that I am having this issue with as I have texted back and forth with multiple others the past few days with no issues.

Hi! I'm also having the same problem. I have an iphone 5 & one person (who also has an iphone 5 but has AT&T as a provider). We had been able to send & receive phone calls & texts until mid-November. Now, we can both give & receive phone calls from each other and she receives my texts, however, I DON"T receive hers. In fact, if I'm in a group text message with her, I don't receive any of the texts that include her, even though I can give/receive texts individually from the others in the group message. The other two in the group message CAN receive both her texts & mine. This is so strange - I was left out of a whole thread of text messages & none of us knew it. They thought they were including me (nothing bounced back) & I didn't know I wasn't receiving them. Since her texting works with both of the others, I'm concluding the problem must be with my phone. Do I have an incorrect setting? I'm not sure what could have happened. PLEASE help!

Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons. Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music. Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users - there is no notification either way that a message was not received. So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't. This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication. I also have clients I have not received texts from. My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

My iphone 5c won't receive texts from other iphone users?

I just got my Iphone this Saturday, before I updated it to 7.0.3 I could send and receive texts from other iphone users, now that it's upgraded I can't receive texts from other iphone users unless connect to 3G/LTE or wifi. Please help.

It appears you have moved from an iPhone to an android phone. The problem you are having is because you did not deactivate your iMessage service before leaving.
If you still have your iPhone, you can re-activate it and then
turn on iMessage in the settings
uncheck your email and phone number
turn off iMessage
Settings>Messages
If you don't have your phone or don't want to go thru the hassle of reactivating it, you can simply call Apple at 800-694-7466 and ask them to turn off your iMessage.

Not receiving texts from one number

As of Saturday, between the time of 4:00pm and 4:30, my phone decided to not receive texts from one number, which is an AT&T number. It was working before, and ever since then, it hasnt been able to receive texts from said number or send them to the number. I havent been able to get texts from the number either, and we both dont know why.
The thing is, I am getting texts perfectly fine from everyone else that I usually text.
I cant figure out if the number is blocked, because I am not the main owner of the family plan that I am on.

It's strange that you are having text imessaging issues with one contact. I use text messaging all the time and I am here to help! Do you have issues sending or receiving text messages to anyone else? Can you send and receive picture messages from this contact? Are you using a 3rd party messaging app? If so, please uninstall and trying using the stock messaging app. Which device are you using? Did you make sure the account owner didn't have this number blocked? Did the contact check with AT&T to see if your number is blocked? Please answer these questions so I can resolve this issue for you.
