thunderbolt port no hardware was found how to fix it

Greetings Housam-farhat,
From what I can gather, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with your Thunderbolt port or a Thunderbolt device connected to it. I am unclear of what operating system you are using but the following article focuses on Thunderbolt troubleshooting in Yosemite. You may find it helpful:
OS X Yosemite: If a Thunderbolt device isn’t working
If your Thunderbolt device isn’t working, try any of the following suggestions:
Check the device:
Make sure the device is turned on and its cables are connected. If the device requires a power cord, make sure it’s plugged in. If the device is in a chain of devices, remove the device from the chain, then plug it directly into your computer and verify that it works.
Check that you’re using the right cable:
Make sure you connect the Thunderbolt device with a Thunderbolt cable, and not a Mini DisplayPort cable. A Thunderbolt cable has a Thunderbolt icon  on the connector.
Check for missing software:
Make sure you installed any software that came with the device. Check the manufacturer’s website for the latest software.
Check chained devices:
If the device is in a chain of connected Thunderbolt devices, each connected to another with only one connected directly to the Thunderbolt port , disconnect the device from the chain and verify that it works (see Check the device, above). Then make sure that all the devices other than the one connected directly to your Mac have power cords. (If the device connected directly to your Mac requires a power cord, it should have one, too.)
If a Mini DisplayPort device is part of the chain, make sure it’s at the end and is connected with a Mini DisplayPort cable.
Verify that the device appears in System Information:
Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. In the window that appears, click Overview, then click the System Report button to open System Information.
In the window that appears, see if the Thunderbolt device is listed below Hardware in the Contents list. If the device appears but does not work, review the device’s documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
Restart apps:
Quit and restart any apps that use the device.
Restart your Mac:
Choose Apple menu > Restart.
If these suggestions don’t work, see the documentation that came with the device for troubleshooting tips, or contact the manufacturer for help.

  • Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 / Thunderbolt: No hardware was found.

We purchased a 2012 27" iMac at work which I connected to a 23" cinema display via a MDP->DVI adapter. It worked for a while, but then stopped working 1 day. Thinking it was the monitor or the adapter, I connected a 27" cinema display with a direct MDP connection - still didn't work.
After doing the typical SMC/PRAM reset, I noticed that in System Information under thunderbolt it said "Thunderbolt:          No hardware was found." I also noticed that the App Store listed a Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2. So, I updated that, restarted, it flashed the progress bar for a second but didn't move before restarting again and booting. The firmware update was still listed in the app store.  I tried downloading the DMG for the update on the Apple Download site, install seemed to go well, but did not install.
Then I found this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4579. I ran through that process (also reset SMC/PRAM again). Still no go. After calling Apple support, they recommended that I reinstall OS X. Still didn't work after that. I called back today, and apparently my only option is to carry it to the closest Apple Store, which is an hour and a half away (we have a closer authorized dealer, but they are closed until July 8th for some reason). I also asked if they could send a box so I could ship it and they said that wasn't an option.
Is there anything else I can do without having to wait until July 8? I am extremely disappointed with Apple right now, and I'm hoping I can get this resolved without having to run all over the place.

It sounds to me that you've gone through all the possibilities as regards software and that your iMac has a hardware issue. If so, then taking it to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider is going to be necessary.  Apple typically does not provide ship-in service when they have authorized service in your area. You'll either have to wait for the service center to re-open on the 8th or drive to the Apple Store.
    Regards.

  • If in my Hardware section of System Information, when I select Thunderbolt and the reply is:    Thunderbolt: No hardware was found,  does that mean the computer does not contain Thunderbolt or that no Device using Thunderbolt is attached?

If in my Hardware section of System Information, when I select Thunderbolt and the reply is:
      Thunderbolt: No hardware was found,
does that mean the computer does not contain Thunderbolt or that no Device using Thunderbolt is attached and that the computer does have thunderbolt?
I have Lion and both my Mini Server and Macbook Pro are less than a year old, however both were bought from Apple as reconditioned units so they might be older, and I expected they would have Thunderbolt but when I connect a Black Magic Intensity Extreme unit which is a thunderbolt powered and driven Device using a Thunderbolt Cable to either computer, it is not recognized.

No other information in Sys Info and I guess as both units, Mini and MBPro, were reconditioned, they were pre July and February , 2011, respectively.
I don't suppose there is any way to add Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 to prior generation Mac Products or get similar performance.

    Hello wilsontot_too,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone.  It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone.  It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

Sorry, iPhones exposed to Salt Water, are pretty much destroyed. Salt Water is one of the most corrosive elements there is.
Make an appointment at any Apple store & they will do an out of warranty exchange for US $269.

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

hi my ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on what should i do ...no batery left and never pluged it into itunes

    Hi meganisawsome,
If your iPod will not turn on and you are getting indicators that there is no battery left, the first step would be to make sure that the iPod has been charged correctly. You may find the following article useful:

  • My itunes says "file could not be added because it could not be found" how to fix it

I just lost my hard drive on my computer because it crashed. I know have a new computer and added my ipod files back on my itunes; however it's been saying the files cannot be found. help!

Most likely you installed a newer version of iTunes in your new PC.
This is the support link to point iTunes to the correct location of your music files. or you can also move your files to the latest iTunes default location.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364
The older version of iTunes folder is in My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
but from iTunes 9 it is My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
    Good Luck!

  • I have a old third generation I pod and I was wondering how to fix it

I have a old third generation Ipod (very old) Its in good condition but internally I don't know what's wrong with it. I need help finding a way to send it off to get fixed. Any suggestions?

A 3rd gen iPod has a touch (not click) wheel, and four separate touch buttons that glow orange.  Is that the iPod model you have?
There are businesses that fix iPod, and some may be local to you.  A Google search on "ipod repair" and your city should give you some links.  An Apple Store may not service your older model.
If you want to try fixing it yourself, the 3rd gen iPod is fairly easy to work with, because the parts are still relatively large with reasonably sized connectors.  The trickiest step (the first time) is prying the case open.  This web site has repair guides.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod_Original
If the problem is something simple, like a dead battery, they are available for a low cost on eBay (and elsewhere online), and usually come with the plastic (nylon) pry tools.
NOTE:  If you have a 3rd gen iPod, as described above, it needs to have a FireWire connection, with a FireWire docking cable.  It will not charge over USB, even though it has a dock connector that fits the USB docking cable. If you are connecting it to a USB port, and that's why it is not working, perhaps it is not actually broken.

  • Xcode Problem 'No signing identity found' how to fix?

Hi, I am in no way a developer, I just use XCode to compile some applications I use where the latest releases are only available as source code.
Until now I have not had any issue compiling these applications.
However, just recently when trying to compile Boxer from http://www.boxerapp.com/ I am presented with an error that states:
    No signing identity found
I do not wish to codesign someone elses' application with my own nonexistent signing identity. Can this pointless function be bypassed so I can build the app sucessfully?

Have you looked in the build settings to see if Don;t Code Sign is selected?

  • I've deleted app off my iPod and now I have pages that are only half full i was wondering how to fix it by moving apps to other pages? Any answers please help

Any answers will do please help

Tap one of the apps and hold your finger over it until you start to see all of your apps wiggle.  You can then tap and drag them to any where you want.  To drag it to another page either drag it to the far right or left depending on which direction you want to go.  When you are done with the Home button.

  • How to connect two DVI screens to Thunderbolt Display's Thunderbolt Port?

    Hi everyone,
I have a new MBP and an external Thunderbolt Display. The Thunderbolt Display itself has a Thunderbolt port, and I was wondering if there is anyway to connect to DVI screens to that. My goal is to have the Thunderbolt Display and 2 x 24" Samsung DVI screens connected to my MBP.
Alternatively, has anyone had success using a third party device like the Matrox 2 go to drive multiple monitors from the usb port?
    Thanks,
    Dave.

You could try a TB>DVI adapter (here's one from Monoprice) but I don't know that it will work - I'm thinking that you could have at least one of your Samsung displays use it. You may also want to see if you can find a HDMI>DVI adapter for your second Samsung display - something like this?
I know that I've seen three monitor set-ups on YouTube - but I'm not sure what was connected to what. Easy enough to daisy-chain ATDs but it gets a bit tougher when utilizing HDMI ports, etc., and I'm not sure about the GPUs ability to drive all three displays.
Oops - sorry - strike that second paragraph - I thought that you were running a Retina display MBP...
