TIF logo change in AI CS2

I am creating a document in InDesign and the client has given me a TIF version of their logo. It's beautifully designed, but I want to remove the white background. I'm an AI (CS2) novice. Is there a simple way to knockout the background?

The poster has tried to use different tools in Illy to work on this image, www.thetomwalterscompany-about.blogspot.com; I believe it is best done in Photoshop, which you know immensely more about than I, your first post here applying very well to that thread.

Logo change in web UI 2007

Hello All,
I did a logo change to the default skin of WEB UI 2007.
the steps i followed
1. goto se 80 and bsp application --> THTMLB_STYLES --> MIMEs --> sap_skins --> default -->
styling --> lshape --> select logo.png right click and upload/downlaod --> upload and
replace with the company logo.png
above are the steps which i followed to change but still it shows standard SAP logos.
am I missing any config any suggestions?.

Hello All,
I changed the logo.png and mountains.gif for a new skin(which is copied from default skin). the logo change are displayed with half logo only.
another issue is the message broadcast area in down is shown with white colour background and also date is shown in middle.
also the alert information box and communication box are show as one.
do i need to change any other customizing to render them properly.

ACS UCP banner logo changes asistance required

Dear all,
I'm looking for help from ACS expert about UCP (User Change Password) the landing page banner logo changes. Your advice is very appreciated. Let me explain in details.
My company has ended the contract with vendor back to few months ago. All the network devices included ACS are now handed over to our management. The ACS UCP (User Change Password) landing page has been changed by previous vendor from Cisco logo to their company Logo. Since now the device has been changed management. My manager would like this logo to change it back to my company logo. I had try to search through the whole ACS clickable function but no luck and try to search through Cisco link but do not find the related documents.
Can any ACS expert to guide me or link me to the correct document what should I do to make this changes? The sample of Cisco UCP page are attached, the logo i meant is the top left corner logo. I brush it out and replace with ABC company.TQVM.

If you have the webpage directory of the UCP you can use the tools within IE, Mozilla or Chrome to find out which image is used in the webpage. This depends on how the webpage was construced meaning if a style sheet or simple html tag for the logo your are looking to replace.
You will most likely need to restart the web server. (always keep a backup of your old config and track your changes carefully).
You can try to ask TAC to see if they can provide assistance, but this is not supported, only the test code they provide falls within support any customization is expected to be documented on the customer's end for scenarios like this, however it doesnt hurt to ask. You can also suggest someone at your company if you have a web development team (I do not mean to sound insulting in anyway, but I myself could not build a webpage to save my life and have always found luck when my customer's provide web development code that I can play with and modify if needed).

since you’d like to get Final Cut Pro Studio 2 onto your MacBook Pro, and you don’t know yet whether that blog method will work in either Mountain Lion or Mavericks, I’d suggest just having them reïnstall Lion on it. (Your problem might be entirely due to software rather than any hardware fault.) You can then take it home, install Final Cut Pro Studio 2 on it, do a selective restore from Time Machine, make a new Time Machine backup of the Lion environment, and then experiment with Mountain Lion or Mavericks at your leisure, since you’ll then have the option of rolling back to a working Lion environment.

PDF CMYK TIF Color Changes on "Reduce File Size"

I run a Mac G4 MDD w/1GB Memory and OSX 10.4.11. Use Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 for PDF viewing, manipulation, forms, making large size files smaller, etc. Recently, I noticed an odd color change on one of 72 ads I am doing for a small 24-page publication. The background image of the ad is a CMYK TIF file placed in a QXP 7.3.1 document. After working on a revision to a previous ad, using the same set-up in QXP, the ad I created, using Output to PDF, opened in AcroPro correctly rendering the ad and background as the other 31 ads I had been working from or on. All the ads are different and have different backgrounds as well. Each ad opened in AcroPro has been made smaller by selecting "Reduce File Size" with no changes to color, drop shadows or text. But, when I selected that (RFS) menu for the 32nd ad, that background color changed completely to a lighter and much more contrasty image. I checked the TIFF background file in PS CS2 to see if it was CMYK or any different than the others. It was like the others, properly rendered and saved, but was much deeper in color. I went back into QXP and noticed the TIFF file in question had a 30% opacity selected to the image. I thought if I saved the original TIFF in PS with a screen tint overtop and flattened to the same look as the intended ad that would solve my problem. I placed that new TIFF background into the ad in QXP and made sure the opacity was 100% and output PDF as I had previously. Unfortunately, the ad turned out exactly the same with the same color shift. There must be something else causing this color change to occur, so if someone else has experienced this and can suggest an answer or posting that may help please advise. Thanks

You have posted your question in a forum dedicated to the Final Cut Studio application Color. It is a very specialized program to grade (adjust) the color in video/film images. We know nothing regarding PDFs.

IPhoto logo change & won't open

The iPhoto icon in the Dock has changed from the 'palm tree sunset' to one resembling the Masonic logo (pen, brush and ruler').
When I click on the new logo it bounces once and the application will not open.

Is this the icon you're seeing?
it's the icon for the App Store application. Go to the Applications folder, locate iPhoto and drag it to the Dock and try again. You can remove the App Store icon from the dock.

Apple logo changing colors loop

Hello-
I have a iPhone 5c. I bought my phone October 27 of this year. I have had issues with it since the 4th day of owning it and no one can help. So I'm turning to you guys, hoping you have something! My phone will get in a constant loop, and I've done all the loop tricks and they work....for about a day or two. Took it to apple they "fixed it".... for 3 weeks it worked and now its doing the apple logo loop, but now the screen changes colors. Sometimes it is the screen, some times it is the apple logo, and then there are times when lines show up. This is driving me craz! Someone please help!

Hard Drive Logo changed

Time Machine changed the logo on my main hard drive for some reason. Now my main drive and my firewire backup drive look the same. Why did it do this? How can I switch back to the original icon?

reselect your firewire drive as the TM drive in TM system preferences.

Changing script from CS2 to CS4

Hi everyone!
Having a bit of a problem (not to mention working against a deadline) with an old CS2 script created for a client. ESTK throws up an "Undefined is not an object" error.
Below is the code that seems to be the culprit. ESTK stops on the line after the .place(), assuming here that it's because the .place() doesn't return a proper object or something like that (I hate when they change scripting around too much).
Basically, what it does is placing an image into the first paragraph of a table cell. It then tries to set the dimensions to a "maximum" size and then fits the image proportionally to those dimensions.

in PDF format for InDesign CS2, is there anywhere that I can download that for CS4, I know it was very helpful back then.

What I ended up doing was create roughly enough pages in the document and create linked text frames on all pages, thus letting the table created in the first text frame flow as long as the document has enough pages. In the end processing, I then remove all the pages but the first one, effectively getting one page with one text frame containing all table contents.
This was the only way I could find to get around this problem. No matter what I did, placing content into a table cell that was overflowing a text frame just didn't work.
Here's the part where I create the pages (variable myMaxPages contains your estimated maximum number of pages). Please note in app.documents.add() that it is set to false to NOT open a window (speeds it up very slightly if you have a huge number of pages). You can remove the false and the myDocument.windows.add() statement if you don't want this or for debug purposes. The formatting mechanism on these forums seem broken, but the following code should be ok/readable once properly formatted.

Maybe this helps someone, maybe it doesn't. Can't say that I'm happy with the behaviour of getting errors and being unable to place content in table cells that is overflowing out of a text frame, but I needed to solve it, and this is how I did it.
Of course, if anyone else has a better solution to placing images into table cells that may be in the overflowing part of a text frame, go ahead and share with the rest of us, please.

Logo change in NWBC 4.0

Hi guys
I am running NWBC 4.0 and wish to change the SAP logo to our logo.
I have managed this by making an entry in table NWBC_CFG using BRANDING_IMAGE and entering a url to an image on our intranet.
However we don't want to point at a URL and would like instead to load a GIF image into the SAP system.
When I do this to change the splash screen in the GUI I load the image via SMW0 / Binary data and then create an entry in SSM_CUST.
So I imagine it is similar for the NWBC logo.
I have loaded the image but now am struggling with the path to use in the value field of NWBC_CFG table.
Can anyone help me in this regard ???

OK, so this is the solution...
1. Go to transaction SE80.
2. Select MIME Repository
3. Navigate to SAP>PUBLIC>BC>ICONS
4. Right click on the folder ICONS
5. Choose Import MIME Objects
6. Find your file and give it a description and load it up
7. Now go to transaction SE16 and enter table NWBC_CFG
8. If this is your first entry into this table use Table>Create Entries from the front screen
9. Enter BRANDING_IMAGE in the Name Field
10. Enter /sap/public/bc/icons/yourfilename.jpg (or gif) in the VALUE field
Result is the logo appears instead of the SAP logo

2. Go to the form, go to corresponding page--> go to pc editior --> Delete old image and insert new image which is uploaded by SE78.
3)you can mainatain the address dynamically by calling the subroutine pool.

Apple Menu Logo Changes Colors

I've been trying to figure out why the Apple Logo on he menu bar changes color, seemingly at random, starting from the dark gray of graphite theme, then cycling through reds, oranges, yellows, etc--sometimes multicolored.
I've never played around with "skins" or tried to alter appearance in any other way.
Anyone Have similar experience / explanation?

Hello Vinoth,
create a component configuration. Within the configuration you can assign your url for the logo to replace the standard one with your customer one.
Then you create an application configuration and assign your component configuration. Last but not least you have to include the application configuration in the URL parameters.

Logo changing size

Hello,
I have what seems like an odd issue. I have placed a logo in a subtemplate being called by multiple reports. If I resize the logo it appears correctly on the any Page 1 of X pages in a batch but the page two logo is smaller and in a slighlty different location. I cannot figure out what is causing this or hwo to solve it. The report has only 1 page in the template RTF so there is only 1 header being called and it is calling the same on so why would the size change depending on the page #? Any ideas?

The URL to set logo should work when you edit it in the correct theme. Usually cache issues prevent us from seeing the desired result. By Clearing cache your issue should get resolved. Otherwise if need be you can edit the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead par file and define the manner in which you want your logo to be displayed in the masthead. Download the par file and open it in NWDS. Search for "logo" keyword you will find it. Edit the current image and upload the PAR file again.
