Time out problem for select query
I am fetching data from BKPF for my report.
I have written following query.But this query always time out.
SELECT
BUKRS
BELNR
GJAHR
BLART
BLDAT
BUDAT
MONAT
XBLNR
BKTXT
WAERS
KURSF
HWAER
FROM BKPF
INTO TABLE I_BKPF
WHERE BUKRS IN S_BUKRS
AND BELNR IN S_BELNR
AND GJAHR IN S_GJAHR
AND BLART IN S_BLART
AND BLDAT IN S_BLDAT
AND BUDAT IN S_BUDAT
AND MONAT IN S_MONAT
AND CPUDT IN S_CPUDT
AND BSTAT = SPACE.
So please suggest me solution.
Hi..
1) Try to make Some of the Fields such as BUKRS , GJAHR as PARAMETERS so that ROWS are restrited mostly.
2) Make fields like BLDAT and BUDAT as OBLIGATORY if possible.
3) And in the SELECT query add the PACKAGE SIZE addition.

BPS friends,
We have a planning function to copy Versions based with some filters. The copy function takes 5 hours and times out after that. The function is reaching max buffer size as recommended by SAP so we cant increase the buffer size anymore.
We are on BW-BPS 3.5.
How can I solve this time out problem? Please respond to me.Hi Pat,
How many record did you copy ??
Could you restrict the copy in not 1 package ??
Package per package ...
I suggest you ..
e.g. you have restriction by a 0CALMONTH / something ..
Then,
You can copy e.g. for January to March, then March to August, etc.
You can automate it by planning sequence.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
Regards,
Niel.
thanks for the points you choose to assign. -
Time out problem while uploading large bpel processes into oracle soa suite
Hi everyone,
I'm using oracle soa suite 10.1.3.4.0 and I'm encountering time out problem while trying to upload a 5MB bpel process into my bpel process server located in the LAN network. The error is coming from apache common file upload.
Is there a way to increate the connection time out for oc4j to avoid this problem?
Thanks for any help.
Regards
EsfandHi Marc.
Thanks for your reply. I increased the transaction manager time-out but still I have the same problem. I believe this is something related to oc4j settings and related to upload bpel process. here is my stack trace output:

Time out parameters for ABAP and JAVA instance
Hello All,
We are looking for Time out parameters for our ABAP and JAVA instances.
As users are complaining that they are getting time out error
while they are trying to access Cprojects from Portal.
I was able to check/collect the ABAP instance parameters from SMICM Tcode.
Can anybody tell me which parameters we need to look for JAVA instance.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Toshiba 48L1433DB - USB time out problems
My USB Ports are not shown on my Source list and I have a "time-out" problem.
If I put a stick in either USB port the media page loads automattically and everything works perfectly but then switches off after an hour or so (on-screen message shows empty port has switched on).
I then have to disconnect the stick and reload it before I can start watching again (Have to fast forward to place where disconnect happened but have to stop every now and then to prevent time out re-occuring)

At first you should make sure, that it is not caused by the stick type and/or file format.
Did you check with a stick from another vendor ? Also, does it happen with every file type, or related to certain formats ? -
Restricting a characteristic & query time out problem
Hi. We have the follwoing problem:
Before our BI upgrade, we have had a number of users querying different info areas, that are now having difficulty restricting on a characteristic in a query. This was performed with no problems before the upgrade.
Many times, the list of records for the particular characteristic is quite small. Either it takes 20-30 minutes for the list to appear, or the query times out (after 6000 seconds).
Any ideas?Any time you have an existing query that has been running quickly in production, and it suddenly starts to run much longer, you should be suspicious of some change to DB statisitics and or indexes.
So the first thing to do is work with your DBA to make sure the DB statistics are current for the tables involved in the query, then get an Explain Plan for the query which will show you how the DB is trying to execute the query, what indexes it uses, etc. Perhaps stats are not being refreshed after the upgrade, or something happened to an index -
Systemd Boot Problem - Times out waiting for LVM partitions
At first I had a problem in which the initramfs didn't map LVM partitions to /dev/vg0/lv, only /dev/mapper/vg0-lv. I changed /dev/vg0/root to /dev/mapper/vg0-root in bootloader configuration as a hacky workaround.
Getting closer to a working system, systemd failed boot because my fstab entries are uuids, and for some reason, my LVM volumes aren't showing up in /dev/disk/by-*. My flash drive boot partition shows up in there though.
I replaced the uuids with /dev/mapper/vg0-* and tried again. Now my boot fails with this:
Oct 21 19:19:31 archserver systemd[1]: Job dev-mapper-vg0\x2dmedia.device/start timed out.
Oct 21 19:19:31 archserver systemd[1]: Timed out waiting for device dev-mapper-vg0\x2dmedia.device.
Oct 21 19:19:31 archserver systemd[1]: Dependency failed for /mnt/media.
Oct 21 19:19:31 archserver systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
Boot log: http://sprunge.us/LEhG
mkinitcpio.conf: http://sprunge.us/QEBK
What should I do?This may be LVM's incompatibility with anything hotplug (it may not be, your issue sounds more obscure). You need to create your own, local lvm service file. I'll tell you how. This is /usr/lib/systemd/system/lvm.service:
[Unit]
Description=LVM activation
DefaultDependencies=no
Requires=systemd-udev-settle.service
After=systemd-udev-settle.service
Before=basic.target shutdown.target
Conflicts=shutdown.target
[Service]
ExecStart=/sbin/vgchange --available y
Type=oneshot
TimeoutSec=0
RemainAfterExit=yes
[Install]
WantedBy=basic.target
Create /etc/systemd/system/lvm_local.service:
[Unit]
Description=LVM activation
DefaultDependencies=no
Requires=dev-something-something1.device
After=dev-something-something1.device
Requires=dev-something-something2.device
After=dev-something-something2.device
Before=basic.target shutdown.target
Conflicts=shutdown.target
[Service]
ExecStart=/sbin/vgchange --available y
Type=oneshot
TimeoutSec=0
RemainAfterExit=yes
[Install]
WantedBy=basic.target
No, what to you put in those "something-something1" places above? For each LVM physical volume, run 'systemctl status /dev/disk/by-uuid/$UUID' where $UUID is the UUID of your physical volume. You'll get a status output showing the exact name of the correct .device unit. Then 'systemctl enable lvm_local.service'.
This speeds up boot and makes sure lvm is properly initialized. After writing all this, I am unsure if this is at all related to your problem, as your volume group is activated in initramfs and the links should be set up by udev. -
Time out problem in background
Hi All,
I am facing a problem with a select query while running the report in background (found out while debugging) where as the same select query while running in fore ground works fine.It is getting timed out.If anyone has faced simillar problem can you please let me know the reason and the way to solve the problem without changing the code.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
> Yes the internal table has records, actually the report was running for even 2 days and the stuck up point was this select query mentioned in the previous post.Ultimately the job has to be cancelled externaly.
but this is no timeout. If you canceled it manually there is no technical problem (besides the run time).
With stuck you mean that after 2 days it was (still / currently) executing this query, right?
In that case it looks like you have to do a performance analysis of the whole program execution. Check if you
can find anything that processes less data and runs faster. Take traces from this run.
Kind regards,
Hermann -
Hello Experts,
The user selected Purchase Order ALL and ran the query with wild search, it contains around 40K POs showing in Active query list. When he wants to access these POs by cliking on hyper link ALL (40451). Its going to Time out error, because requestor number is missing.
Kindly throgh some light how to clear this filter.
Highly appreciated for prompt responses.
Regards,
Suneel KumarHi Poonam Patil,
Try to provide BELNR and GJAHR in where condition...
BKPF-DBBLG ==> BSAK-BELNR
Also check
BKPF-BLDAT ==> BSAK-AUGDT
Check out above relation...
If data is there in these fields of the table and both are matching then you can pass it and as they are in primary key of BSAK it will improve the performance...
Hope it will solve your problem..
Thanks & Regards

I nearly made a comment about how the plan doesn't show Bloom filter pruning either - and then I realised why not. The plan you've shown us comes from Explain Plan with literal values present; the trace file shows bind variables with names that are generated when cursor_sharing is set to force or similar - so the run-time plan and the plan from explain plan are almost guaranteed to be different.
Oracle support will need you to supply the plan you get from trying to run the query and then making a call to dbms_xplan.display_cursor() - dbms_xplan in 10g | Oracle Scratchpad If you do this I think you'll find that the pstart/pstop columns contain entries like :BF0000, and you may even find operations link PX JOIN FILTER CREATE / PX JOIN FILTER USE
A couple of generic notes:
if a query does sufficient work to merit parallel execution, then it's usually better to supply the best possible information to the optimizer, which means using literals rather than bind variables - you could try executing the query with the hint /*+ cursor_sharing_exact */ to stop Oracle from turning your literals into binds; it might be the presence of bind variables that's making the optimizer choose a path that has to include bloom filter pruning in your case.
Where you have the to_date() call you've used a four-digit year - which is a very good thing and helps the optimizer - but it's also a good idea to include an explicit format string as well: with a four-digit year this probably won't make any difference, but it avoids any risk of ambiguity for the optimizer.
I made a comment about the P->S stage and bottlenecks - I spent a couple more minutes looking at the plan, and I see the optimizer has used concatentation: in effect it has run three query blocks one after the other and fed the results to the query co-ordinator - in this case the P->S would make no difference to the end-user response time there's always a final P->S to the coordinator, you just happen to have three of them.

Setting a time out limit for OBIEE Queries
Hi Experts,
I am using OBIEE 11g. I have a scenario where I have to cancell a query if the query runs for more than 15 mins to fetch the data. The requirement is if the query takes longer than 15 mins the query to the database should be cancelled and in the OBIEE answers it should show the query cancelled message. Even if we are not able to show the exact message in answers is fine. But the front end and backend query must be cancelled after running for 15 mins.
Any help on this would be highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
SatyabratHi,
Please try the following:
Add the below code in instanceconfig.xml
To set time to expire for Idle Oracle BI Presentation services Client connections.
<ConnectionExpireMinutes>Number of Minutes</ConnectionExpireMinutes>
Setting the Time to Expire for Oracle BI Presentation Services Client Sessions
<ClientSessionExpireMinutes>Number of Minutes</ClientSessionExpireMinutes>
And also try in RPD
Go to Manage-->Identity-->Application Roles
Select the ROLE and click on the permissions tab.
In the next wizard go to the “Query limits” tab.
Against the database row set the following values
Max Time Minutes=20
Status Max Time=Enable
For Custom messages for the error message:
Find error webmessage template and rewrite it in customMessages. For example:
<WebMessage name="kmsgCatalogAccessDenied" exception="true">
<TEXT>Отказ в доступе на <sawm:param insert="2"/> пользователю <sawm:param insert="3"/> по пути <sawm:param insert="1"/>.</TEXT>
</WebMessage>
Found this in catalogmessages.xml. Then I created file custommessages.xml in msgdb\customMessages:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1">
<WebMessageTable system="CustomMessages">
<WebMessage name="kmsgCatalogAccessDenied" exception="true"><TEXT>Some other error message</TEXT></WebMessage>
</WebMessageTable>
</WebMessageTables>
It's possible not to show error message code.
There are a lot of perfect examples in the documentation.
Also Please refer the below link:
http://sranka.wordpress.com/2008/05/23/style-sheet-changes-custom-look-and-feel-in-obiee/
This should resolve your problem

Time-out problems with RV320 (after upgrade from RV042)
config:
dual wan
WAN1: 4G router (DHCP) - approx 25Mbit/ 8Mbit
WAN2: PPOE (DSL) - 1 Mbit/ 0.2 Mbit
worked with a RV042 before and upgraded to a RV320 now.
all other things are unchanged.
3 problems - 2 solved/ not critical - one still open:
a) not critical: DHCP Status does not include all devices (changing view - but all-time problem)
I would suspect a software bug.... DHCP itself works perfectly/ IPs are assigned (just not shown in status)
b) solved (at least for now): internet connection featured time-outs; after many tries, disabling the SPI in the firewall helped
btw: this only happend for the WAN1 - WAN2 worked (or is that slow that the additonal wait time did not matter ;-)
c) very annoying: exchange connection (from Outlook client to external exchange) still has time-outs (mostly the whole mail client hangs/ ends to be restarted).
As soon as I disable WAN1, it works! But it´s not the LTE WAN itself - switching back to the RV042 does not show the same symptom.
I tried: include IP into local DNS (in general I work with google DNS servers - but changing that does not help either), opening all traffic for teh realevant IPs and disabling the firewall completely. no positive results....
thanks for any hints....I agree with you on a, probably a bug of some sort.
b is an issue I've seen before, and even on similar bandwidth (25/5) on my rv016. What was able to figure out is that the carrier (ISP) is sending about 4k/sec of ICMP packets to the router, which in turn makes the router think it's under attack so it drops the connection. As you can tell, disabling the SPI helps. For me, putting another router in front of my rv016 (on 2 of 3 wans) was my only 'permanent' solution.
c sounds like there's a protocol binding/static route in the rv042 that you need to add to the rv320. I'd check that first.

Problem in select query in QUERY INFOSET
Hi All
I have requirement to find the sales text maintained for sales order in mass in production. By using the FM READ_TEXT i can pass the necessary values to get the sales text. We dont want to write a program and then transprot to P01. So what i did in SQ02 i create a infoset and worte code in the infoset. Here i am facing the problem that in the select query where clause what ever on the selection screen values, for that the query need to fetch the records. But selection screen is dymically selected based on SQVI t-code.
In select query if i write like this
SELECT TDOBJECT TDNAME TDID TDSPRAS
FROM STXH
INTO TABLE IT_TEXT_DETAIL
WHERE TDOBJECT EQ C_KNMT .
Here i have hardcoded KNMT so it will fetch only that value irrespective of any values on the selection screen. How to get the values based on the selection screen. I debugged the query it automatically generates the code for selection screen which i am not able to pass in the program.
SAP has generated this code
select-options SP$00004 for STXH-TDOBJECT.
select-options SP$00005 for STXH-TDNAME.
select-options SP$00006 for STXH-TDID.
If i pass SP$00004 on where clause its giving me error. So how to pass it dynamically. Waiting for experts answer.
Regards
VijayHi Vijay,
In this case concatenate 'TDOBJECT' 'EQ' C_KNMT INTO V_WHERE (Say) SEPERATED BY SPACE.
DATA : v_where(90) type c.
clear v_where.
CONCATENATE 'TDOBJECT'
'EQ'
C_KNMT
INTO V_WHERE
SEPERATED BY SPACE.
SELECT TDOBJECT TDNAME TDID TDSPRAS
FROM STXH
INTO TABLE IT_TEXT_DETAIL
WHERE (V_WHERE) .
Try to do this and let me know in case of any.
