Time-reverse layer causes A.E to crash.
So I started the trial.
Relativly new to After Effects and so I
started doing a tutorial involving Trapcode Particular 2.2 trial
on my A.E cc 2014 trial.
Up til the final time-reverse layer instruction
Everything gone fine.
But crashes everytime when applying the time-reverse.
I´ve tried pre-composing the layer and used the effect on that composition.
Rendered all of the animation and it flows fine. Just not with "the effect".
I have a win 7,1 64-bit system Geforce GT 630.
16gb ram.
/E
Are you pre-composing before you time reverse? Have you tried Time Remapping and just selecting the keyframes and using the Keyframe Assistant to time reverse the keyframes? If you are still getting a crash then pre-render your comp before using Time Reverse or Time Remapping. FYI, Time Remapping renders a lot faster than Time Reverse.

After Effects jumps some frames when i use "time reversal layer"
hi!
i'm editing a stop-motion video. i have a big problem that with AEcs5 i never had.
when i use "time reversal layer" with some image sequence layer (but also with a .mov with alpha) AE become crazy:
sometimes he erase (or jump) some frames, sometimes he put frames from other image sequence that i didn' put in the timeline!!
if u see the image there is nothing here, and appears an image that i didn't put there!!
can you help me please?
thanks!Hi Rick, super thanks,
but i checked and all my comp are 24fps.
for your suggestion of use the time remap to invert one sequence, many thanks, i'll try!
i use the time reverse, because is good with stop motion when i whant to play with go>back>go>back

Time Reversed Layers Have Blank Frames in CC
Hey guys. So in my project file I have a lot of looping footage, which I achieved by using time reversed layers. I started the project file in a trial version of CS5.5 last week, but upgraded to Creative Cloud yesterday. Since moving to CC I noticed that all my time reversed layers have missing frames at the beginning of the layer, causing a blinking effect on my footage. In the final comps those layers will flicker out, showing the images and backgrounds beneath them both within AE and in the final comps when I render them to an .mov. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this bug and knows of a way to fix it. I've nudged my layers around a bit, but regardless of when the layer starts or from which point it begins sampling my footage, the first frame of the time reversed layers are blank.
Here's some information that might be helpful:
The compositions are 1280x720, square pixel aspect ratio. Starting timecode of 0:00:00:00 on all comps. The footage type is h.264 with a framerate of 23.976, the same framerate as the comps. My footage interpretation is premultiplied for Alpha, set to use the framerate from file, starting timecode of 0:00:00:00, and with seperate fields off and remove pulldown off.
The specific version of After Effects CC is 12.0.0.404. My computer information is Mac OSX version 10.8.3. 3.,4 GHz Intel Core i7. 16 GB RAM, 1600 MHz DDR3.
Thanks in adcvance guys. I could really use some insight in answering my question.Yeah. We're hoping to move everything to a better video format once we get a better network that can handle that quickly, so for now we're using h.264. In case you're wondering, the same problem happens with other video formats too. Creating a new composition and time reversing it gives me the same problem. Here's a screenshot like you asked for:
My timeline's zoomed in as far as it goes. Even though my cursor's at the intersection of the two layers, the time reversed layer, which is a pair of eyes above the mouth, shows up blank and there's no eyes. Any thoughts? -
Time-reversing any layer causes After Effects CC to crash
Whenever I time-reverse a layer - the program window simply fades into white and stops responding. Then, whatever I click - it crashes immediately. The error code is simple AppCrash.
I run a PC with Windows 7 Ultimate x64, 1GB Nvidia Graphics card, 2.16 GHz dual-core Intel processor and a bit less than 4 GB RAM.
Please suggest a fix for this ASAP.
Using CC 12.1.Please suggest a fix for this ASAP.
Unlikely. You have not told us anything about your comp settings, footage used, Fast Preview setting etc..

The program will load, when I choose the expert tab and try to open more than one file at a time to layer images it just crashes and says "Photoshop Elements has closed unexpectedly" Can anyone help me please?

OK, kinda slooow here, I hope I'm not trying your patience!? If I understand you correctly, install dummy drivers and then the drivers that came with my printer, Designating NO default printer! Then when I need to use the printer I will have to declare which one each and every time?
Or, just intall by new printer but do not Delcare it as the Default printer, I guess in this instance there would be NO default printer?
You may not even have the problem!
Have you installed the new printer yet?
There are many more people who don't see it happen than those who do.
PS: there is always a default printer. -
Time Machine Backup causes system crash ...
After installing Mavericks my iMac 27" was very instable. Every now and then I noticed the spinning wheel and then step by step all functions were shutting down: 1. no menues, 2. no shortcuts, 3. no window change and so on. At the very end only swiping between desktops was possible. Tonight I just let him do hoping this will be fixed. I the morning I noticed the login screen, but without any function.
Actually I assume that the Time Machine Backup causes the problem! I switched it off about two hours ago and the system works perfectly until now.
I am using a TC 1. Gen. with Firmware Version 7.6.4 and Air-Port utility Version 6.3.2.
Routing and WIFI is both turned off on TC, I only use the TC for TM Backup and iPhoto/iTunes Media in a LAN.Your problem is apparently caused by a third-party system modification. Reboot as usual (not in safe mode) if you haven't already done so. Launch the Terminal application, copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:
kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 } '
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
Next, do the same thing with this line:
sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|com\.vix|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
That's one line, not two. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Next, this command:
launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
Again, one line. Finally, one more:
ls -1 /Library/{InputManagers,StartupItems}
Remember, this is all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer -- no typing, except your password. -
RH8 causing other apps to crash?
Hello -
I have a colleague (working in another office, so I can't really see this problem first hand) who is trying to install RH8 on a Win7/32 machine (new install, not an upgrade). A member of her IT dept is performing the install.
After the installation of the app and patches is finished, RH seems to work more or less normally (she's new to RH, so her sense of "normal" is rather limited at this stage). The problem is that other applications lock up and crash (she mentioned MS Office apps in particular, but that could be because those are the ones she tends to use the most).
After un-installing RH, the other apps no longer crash.
I've recommended re-installing but skipping the "RoboHelp for Word" piece, but I can't think of anything else.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen a similar situation? I've found other threads that deal with RH crashing or the RH install failing, but I couldn't find any in which RH caused other apps to crash.
Thanks,
DaveHmm...I posted a reply via email, but it isn't showing up, so I'm pasting it in.
Hi, Rick -
Thanks for the suggestions. Like some of the other threads I've found, these seem to deal mainly with RH crashes rather than other apps. But your first link possibly has some overlap as the menu issue it describes also pops up in a thread I found:
"RoboHelp 8 crashes on Windows 7"
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2955493#2955493
This thread includes a scenario in which Outlook and other apps are failing. Additionally, some users were having RH crashes related to the menu bug. Some users found relief by uninstalling source control, others did not. Finally, An Adobe employee posted a fix that corrects issues related to Oleacc.dll which helped some users.
To be thorough, I'll mention that the problems are occurring on a laptop (another thread traced RH crashes to a BioMetric service running on their laptop). And my colleague has the FoxIt PDF utility installed (I don't think this should be the issue here, but perhaps worth a mention.)
I'm going to suggest that they try:
1a. Check the registry to ensure traces of the previous RH install are gone.
1b. Reinstall but omit source control and RH for Word (I think you can skip these during install? I'm no longer allowed to to perform my own installs, so I'm less familiar with the process than I once was.)
2. Ensure patches are installed (version should be 8.02.208)
3. If that doesn't work, try the Oleacc.dll fix.
4. If that doesn't work, try another Win7/32 machine (preferably non-laptop).
5. If all is well on the other machine, I guess it is time to start looking at which non-essential services might be causing a conflict.

Help needed with identifying cause of Google Chrome crashes from a crash report
Hello,
I am trying to isolate a problem which is causing Google Chrome to crash. This is happening far too frequently - sometimes on opening, sometimes on web page loads and sometimes when viewing the preferences page.
I'm using a 2012 Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.4.
After many hours of trawling around the Internet and trying various suggestions, I am close to admitting defeat. Hopefully somebody here can save my sanity and point me towards a possible cause.
To date, these are some of the things that I have tried:
Replacing the 16GB of Crucial Ram with the stock Ram.
Logging in as a Guest user and opening Chrome.
Disabling all Chrome extensions (there are only 3 that I use anyway).
Uninstalling Chrome and all associated files that I could find, then reinstalling.
Booting into Safe Mode and loading Chrome.
None of these have made a difference. There have also been a couple of times when Firefox has crashed, too. Safari has been rock solid. Yes, I could just use Safari, but there are personal reasons why I need to use Chrome. I also need to locate this problem in case it is something that might effect other applications … or possibly even be a hardware problem.
Below is my most recent crash report. Frankly, it's contents are way outside of my comfort zone, so I am hoping that somebody will be able to help point me towards the relevant parts that might help me resolve this problem:

What is causing my Mac to crash during the sleep mode?
Hello!
I would to have your help on this situation that i am having for a month or so... Ok... it started about a month ago, I turned it on and all of the sudden, it shut down, then rebooted on its own... (actually it rebooted like 3 or 4 times before running the system) I thought that it was odd. I had my Tech to look over and see what was causing to crash and all... he could not find anything then we all decided to leave it running all time... so we did. a week or two later, it just crashed when i woke the sleep mode and it went on the usual route as crashed and rebooted two or three times before going back to normal.
sound familiar to you guys? after that happened, we turned off the sleep mode and so far, it is doing good... decided not to update the system's Security software because it may have something to cause the mac to crash down...
the mac is 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8 Gb 667 MHZ DDR2 FB-DIMM, running on 10.6.8
appreciate your help on this. One more thing.... it makes weird sounds as well... very high pitch sounds that you hear in movies where UFO flying by while it is doing the rebooting...

3D Graphs cause LV 2009 to CRASH
Hi all,
The placing of any of the new 3D graph controls on the front panel causes LV 2009 to Crash!
Please advise.
Battler.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi battler.,
Unfortunately, that CAR was closed because it was not reproduceable. My recommendation at this time would be to do a LabVIEW Repair. To do this, go to Control Panel»Add or Remove Programs»National Instruments Software»Change/Remove»LabVIEW 2009»Repair. You may need your installation discs for this operation.
Thank you for choosing National Instruments.

I use the sort feature in Bridge to sort my images by file type and date created. The sort feature causes my iMac to crash and of course does not sort. The CC is a recent download, and my iMac is new and updated.
Hi, and welcome to the forums.
That's a *kernel panic.*
They are usually caused by hardware problems, but can be software.
If you have any other peripherals, disconnect them all. Reconnect one at a time to be sure it's really the external disk, and only the external disk.
Run the Apple Hardware Test, from the separate disc that came with your Mac.

My iPods are Causing My Computer to Crash!
Lately all of my iPods are starting to cause my computer to crash when I plug them in. It doesn't do it every time. But when it starts, I can't fix it. I have restarted my computer, reset all of my iPods, and tried different USB ports and the problem still persists. Right after I plug the iPods in, a blue screen flashes for a second and then the computer restarts. Any ideas on how to fix this problem. It is frustrating! Help
if you have an HP printer try disconnecting it
