Time series questions - how to do AGO function for prior year end

Question on how to perform the following calculation in OBIEE:
I need to create a time series calculation that will calculate a metric as of Dec prior year. For example, my users will select Mar 2010. I want to show the amount for Mar 10 as well as the amount for Dec 09. If the select Jun 10, I will show them the amount for that month as well as Dec 09.
Is there a way to do an AGO function that will give me this value? I can't use a filter calculation on my column because filter on the period will exclude these records

Thanks John. Your suggestions seems promising but I'm having issues when I tried it out. I am receiving the following error message:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 22046] To use AGO function, the query level ('Fiscal Period, Prior Fiscal Year End Date') must be a static level. (HY000)
What I did was create a new level off my Fiscal Time dimension which is a child of Total. I tried creating my AGO calculation using this level but received that error message in Asnwers. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

  • Time Series Question - How to avg for Period children but not parent

I have a calculated account I'm trying to have average at the Period Child level but have the Period Parent level do a straight calc on the totals. My cube is set up like this:
    Period
    - Jan
    -- JanWeek1
    -- JanWeek2
    -- JanWeek3
    -- JanWeek4
    -- JanWeek5
    Account
    - BIlled Hours
    - Revenue
    - Avg Houly Rate = "Revenue" / "Billed Hours" (I have time series set to average)
My issue is that at the Week level things are averaging correctly, But at the Month level it is taking the average of the 5 weeks. How can I get it to just look at the total Revenue for the month divided by the total Billed Hours (while still having the weeks do an average?)
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

You probably don't need to use Time Balance Average at all for this calculation. I'd suggest setting the member to Time Balance None, then tag it as 'Dynamic Calc', and finally tag it as 'Two-Pass', to ensure that the Revenue / Hours calculation is done after the period roll-up.
I think that would give you the result you want.

  • Comparing AGO vs TODATE - few time-series questions

    Hi All,
I just thought that someone might actually shed some light on the following situation.
I'm using AGO function for reporting CY, PY, PY-1 - etc.
So, AGO is essentially showing the value (or aggregated value) of the metrics at the same time period - and I usually use year, not months in the function.
Now, my understanding is that when I have CYTD and PYTD - I must use TODATE function. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Like if I need to show % variance over different times periods (Previous year to Current Year) and the current year data MUST be compared to the same data in the previous year. For example, if we are in January of current year, the comparison must be between Oct-Jan of current year to Oct-Jan of previous year, not the full previous year.
Here, I should probably use months' level in this situation, correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Is TODATE getting a current system time and date? Or Do I need to go about creating a dynamic variable Current Month?

  • SAP IDM 7.2: How to setup SSO functionality for WebUI of CRM and GRC?

    Hello IDM-experts,
where can my customer find information about
SAP IDM 7.2: How to setup SSO functionality for WebUI of CRM and GRC?
    Customer situation description:
The situation is that we are using SAP IDM 7.2. We are using a functionality to allow our users to access a webpage from where they can gain
SSO access to the Abap systems via the SAPGui. See screenshot as an example.
Now what we want is to access the CRM and GRC WebUI also with the same SSO possibility. We cannot find any guide/best practice on how to do
this or if it is possible via SAP IDM 7.2.
You can see a weblink in the first screenshot but it does not work. It will ask you for a username and password, see second screenshot.
    Kind regards,
    Daniela

Do you know how the SAP GUI SSO is setup ? Is it using SNC/Kerberos ?
If it is (I suspect it is), then you will need to use similar method of authentication for the ICF Services. These cannot use SNC since they are accessed via browser, but what you want is possible.
    Thanks

I need help how to create menu function for link to access file and allow user to save the file when click on it.
The file will keep inside server.AFAIK, you have to write a custom code to achieve this and Oracle does not provide this functionality.
If you want to store the file as an attachment, please see (How to Store Image/PDF Attachments on the File System in 11i and R12 (like Attachment File Directory) [ID 294525.1]).

  • How to get Open Balance for the year and Total Ending Balance?

For a given account, how to get Open Balance for the year (Cumulative Ending Balance) and Total Ending Balance (Cumulative Ending Balance)?
Is there any function module available? or should I read from some tables? Please advice.

    Hello Paul,
You could try calling one of the following BAPIs - see which one meets your requirement. They are documented well so shouldn't be a problem finding out the correct one for your requirements.
    BAPI_GL_GETGLACCBALANCE
    BAPI_GL_GETGLACCCURRENTBALANCE
    BAPI_GL_ACC_GETBALANCE
    BAPI_GL_ACC_GETCURRENTBALANCE
    BAPI_GL_ACC_GETPERIODBALANCES
    BAPI_COND_VAL_DECRE_BALANCES
You might have to put in some of your own logic after the BAPI call to get what you want.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Sougata.
p.s. Also look at FM FAGL_GET_ACCOUNT_BALANCE

I work on the CompactRIO 9068 that the password is lost for some time.
Please  help me to  reset it, for finish my end of study project.
    Thank you,

but the page of ni support does not work:
    https://sine.ni.com/srm/app/newrequest
and I have the recovery.cfg file from NI with this steps :
    1.        Copy the recovery.cfg file, found in the zip folder attached at the bottom of the email, to the thumb drive.
    2.        With the cRIO device powered off, plug in the USB drive to the controller.
    3.        Hold down the reset button while powering on the controller.  Continue holding the reset button until the status light turns on, then release the reset button.
    4.        Wait for the controller to boot.  This should take less than a minute.
    5.        Check that the password has been reset to the default. (you will still be prompted for a password even if the default is blank)
    6.        Reinstall software to the controller. Using the USB reset will leave the system in a state where it is unable to run LVRT
I have followed the procedure as mentioned
Result: the LED "Status" is permanently blinking.
Would you please provide as with another alternative so that we can fix this issue.

  • Time series question

    Hi,
From the Time Series documentation, it looks ike we have to
create an IOT table in order to use time series functions (fill
    for example).
We have a table with several columns and few million rows. It is
not an IOT table. Can I apply time series functions on data
coming out of non-IOT table ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you don't have data in period table then how you can expect the values.
For more reference on time series functions look @ this OBIEE -Time Series in OBIEE
It will give you more information.

  • Hello everyone,I have a question,how to realize trigonometric function:sin

I need to use sin to calculate the distance between two points on the earth.
In orcale it has the functions:SIN,ACOS,SQRT, but in TT the same sentence is wrong.
    Now I have a question:how can I realize SIN.
    Thanks

    Hi 948835,
TimesTen doesnt have a lot of math functions, therefore you can use the following options:
    - calculate math functions (sin, cos and etc.) on application level. Different programming languages contain a very rich functional for math ( look at java.lang.Math for Java for instance).
    - use "Passthrough" TimesTen feature which provides you an opportunity to execute the query in Oracle instead of TimesTen. It works for In-Memory DB Cache only :(

  • Time series extention how??

    helo sir
i have created a time series for a planning area long b4. now again i want to extentd the time series for the planning area? how could i do that???

    Hi,
The start date take from the previous initialization.
Ex: You have activated your planning area from 01.01.2007 to 31.12.2009.
Now you want ot extend the time series then start date is 01.01.2007 to 31.12.2010.
You will not loose any data. But it is always better to take backup after every planning.
Do the initialization from as you said but there you cannot specify the dates.
So Please do it through program /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE.

    Kishore Reddy.

  • AGO Function for the next to Years

    Hello together,
is it possible to use the AGO - Funktion for Values in the Future?
It is just the negative usage of the function.
    Regards,
    Stefan

The actual function itself cannot be used in that way. I had the same issue a few weeks back.
We achieved this by creating a table at the physical layer using a SELECT command which mapped the future values as we required. Another suggestion that was made here was to use a complex join...
Re: Obtaining metrics for a FUTURE date (opposite of the AGO function)
The error I described in the thread I think actually had nothing to do with the complex join as we found it elsewhere in the metadata futher on and it was resolved. I havent had the time to go back and test this...yet.

  • How to create multiple function for each value

    Hi, I'm new to LabVIEW.
I need some help. Attached is my LabVIEW file.
I want to change the Formula VI for the 'Air Velocity vs Time' waveform to another formula (or multiple formula (can I use MathNode Script for this?)) to let it handle multiple values from the data and then display the result on the waveform graph. Or how can I do this?
Another one is how to change the scale for the 'Measurement Flow' from sensor to pressure? Using pressure sensor 0V-10V to -500Pa-500Pa.
    Thanks in advance.

You could simply use a case structure around the Formula Express VI. When you say MathNode Script I'm assuming you're referring to MathScript? Or are you referring to the Formula Node. With either one you'd need to convert from dynamic data to arrays. With MathScrip you need to be aware that starting with LabVIEW 2009 MathScript requires a separate license.

You can create a custom scale for your measurement. You can do this in the DAQ Assistant.

  • How to use destination function for javascript

    Hi,
I used javascript:var a = window.open('OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/cdar/admin/brandupload/webui/SupportPG&retainAM=Y&OARF=printable', 'a','height=500,width=900,menubar=yes,toolbar=yes,location=yes'); a.focus(); in destination URL property, it can work to popup another window.
But I want to setup a Oracle function for this javascript, and use Destination FUNC property on the button to popup window. But it can not work after I setup a SSWA jsp function with WEB HTML.
    Could some one help this?
    Thanks,
    Eileen

    Eileen,
How are you adding the OA function ? I have also tried destination url property but not the destination function.Probably you should do sth like this :
    In ProcessRequest :-
    <OABean> <var name> = (<OABean>)webBean.findChildRecursive("<Bean Id>");
    <var name>.setOnClick("javascript:window.open ('OA.jsp?OAFunc=<funcName>','new','height=550,width=850,status=yes,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no' );
OABean is the bean on click of which the page should open like a hyperlink or sth like that.
    Hope this helps.
