Timed video out through firewire?

Hey everyone,
In Final Cut Pro 5, is there a way to set print to video on a timer? For example, print to video on Friday at 2PM.... Or simply, just play the entire video in the timeline at a specific time?
I'm assuming not, so does anyone know of any program out there that can play Quicktime videos out through Firewire on some kind of timer system?
I know this is an unusual request... and I can explain why exactly I want this if anybody wants me to, but it's kind of a long story =)
Any suggestions would be great!

You can easily set up an Automator script to work with an iCal event...
use the script for PLAY MOVIE instead of record new video that I used here:

The video was done in haste... and there are a few errors in it... but you'll get an idea of what to do.

Is color capable of outputing preview video through my DVCam deck via firewire? The option in the video out preferences seems to be grey out as are the other options in there.

I had forgotten I'd posted this and I need to make a clarification.
At the time of this posting, I'd been assured by Blackmagic Designs that Color would preview externally through their Intensity Pro card although in 8-bit video. Since the time of this posting and upon further query with BM tech support, I was told the Intensity Pro could not be used in this function.

Sending video OUT via Firewire to my Camcorder FROM my computer?

Hi all!
Can I send video OUT from my comp. to my camcorder via Firewire. I have a camcorder that has Passthrough to use it as a bridge which I have used to hook up a vcr with. But Im not sure if I can send video OUT to the camcorder and record it on the tape? Any help would be great!

Hi Retha!
Yes, you should be able to do this. Use the Export command in the File menu of iMovie, and you will see that Camera is one of the options.

No Audio When using Video Out to Firewire

I do not get any audio when I use Firewire ntsc as my video out. When I set video out to canvas playback then I get audio. I want to use print to video but I cannot because the audio will not work with Firewire. I get the image on my external monitor but not the audio. I checked to make sure and the audio was not on the recorded dvd. I cannot not use print to video with canvas playback.
My Easy Setup is Format: NTSC, Use DV NTSC DV Converter. I tried using Firewire basic and got the same results.

The audio does not play at all from the timeline if video out is set to Firewire. To answer your question, no the audio does not play in the external monitor when playing back from the timeline when Canvas is used as the video out. However, I don't believe the converter box is the problem. The audio would play in the internal speakers when using firewire as video out but it does not.

Video Out to Firewire is not working

I found that the internal speakers are not giving me a good sample of final output. I have a TV hooked up to a JVC Deck with FW in that I can use to judge sound.
I used prefs to set up Video Out but it is not taking. I have quit all other apps that may take that bus. i.e. FCP and Motion.
What is wrong?

just a follow up, i am now pretty sure that it was an issue of signal loss. i now use a dvi to hdmi adapter instead, and a 12' hdmi cable. it works well.

Ios podcast utility that supports video out through composite cable.

Hi everyone,
I'm watching some video podcasts (you're right - MacBreak Weekly!) in my car while staying in traffic jams. And I use original Apple composite video cable to send video to the in-dash screen of my Nissan.
There have been some podcasts downloaders in App Store, like Instacast, Downcast, Podcaster. But none of them are able to send video out of iPhone.
If anybody seen one that is able to do that, I'd appreciate a link dropped over here.

try rebooting the iphone
my iphone4 works just fine with my composite and component cables I'm using latests ios version
but mind you it only works with tvout ables apps like youtube it don't support mirror

Send Video Out via Firewire 800?

I have a macbook pro that has a firewire 800 port on it
i also have a video switcher for video productions that takes a firewire 400 input as a video source
i own a firewire 800 to 400 cable.
is there any way to get video to send out of the macbook pro to go into the video switcher?
when i connect the cables, nothing happens.
please help!

No video out through AJA to DVCpro

I am trying to preview video through an Aja deck, to a dvcpro deck and then finally to the monitor. My playback video option is set at
ProIO - NTSC US - Component YPbPr SMPTE n10 - 8 bit 422 (720 x 486)
I am getting audio on the meters in the dvcpro deck and audio to the speakers. But no video is getting to the dvcpro deck.
I have recorded a test tape and it played back nothing. Any Ideas.

Audio lost through firewire

If we send video out through firewire then we get the video signal but no audio, then when we change video output to none, audio returns via built-in audio. How do we get the audio to stay on when outputting video to Firewire (audio goes off when output to Desktop Video as well). This is with projects sent from FCP to STP. FCP audio plays fine through Firewire.

I have the same problem here, having spent much time getting a workflow sorted in order to use Soundtrack Pro 2.02 via exported markers from Final Cut for a dubbing project it seems that when video is output onto a second screen the audio disappears (desktop preview).
Also get a message after about 5 seconds saying that ST Pro can't play the audio due to hard disk not fast enough (I can run a 36 track mix in Logic..) and to remove 'Long files' or quit apps, but am not running anything else and I only have one audio track!
Another thread with a similar issue suggested rebuilding permissions, this I have done and verified drive, plus tried using an external drive for files too. No difference. Seems interesting that the possible link is due to FCP export? I noticed at one point that ST was still referencing the original clips in FCP even after making them independent and exporting as separate files.
Also can't see the Timecode hud when it is on the second monitor when video is playing there (shows fine on desktop on second screen). It's vital to be able to see the timecode over the presented video as this is being fed to a dubbing cabin.
Come on Apple give us some support here as it seems rare that such problems get any direct answers from you! I've just paid a packet for the Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio suites and our whole production is being delayed by these issues (and many others!)

No firewire video out in Mac CS5.5.1?

Okay, I've got a strange problem here: I'm trying to preview a DV sequence through an OHCI-compliant FireWire deck, and it's just not receiving any signal (audio or video) from Premiere no matter what I do. Device control works fine, capture works fine, and FireWire preview works fine in Final Cut 7 and After Effects. But no matter what I do in the playback settings for Premiere, it's like there's no signal running out through FireWire. Here are my settings:
DV-native (480i/48khz) sequence
Realtime playback:
     External Device: "DV: 29.97 720 x 480i"
     Aspect Ratio Conversion: I have tried all three options, to no effect.
     External Device Audio
I've also tried previewing out native DV material without dropping it into the sequence. No luck there. And no, export to tape doesn't work either.
System specs:
Mac Pro 3,1
OS 10.7.2
6GB RAM
nVidia Quadro 4000
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Okay, figured it out: FireWire preview is only available when hardware acceleration is disabled. *sigh* …lame.

785GM-E65 and video out

I am looking for an analog video out solution for this mobo. I bought a VGA to component video cable and that gets me an output with jiberish. I'm aiming for s-video or component. I read that some mobo's support s-video out through the VGA port. Does anyone know if MSI has included this feature on this mobo? I have not found any materials that indicate one way or the other.

This board doesn't support that kind of video output. You could get a video card with super video out or get something like this converter.

Video Out HD

Hi. I was wondering if I have a file that is High definition, can I output it to my HDTV keeping it's high definition quality. I know if I use the video out through S-video it wouldn't be HD. If I use a mini-DVI to VGA will that be in HD??? Thanks for the help in advance

yeah it'll work...but you'll need a VGA cable (which you can get cheap at any WalMart or somewhere). Here is my set up: I have my MacBook with a miniDVI to VGA adapter plugged into a VGA cable, which is then in turn plugged into the VGA input on my TV.
The bigger issue you'll have is audio, as your MacBook speakers won't exactly fill up a room and the VGA doesn't carry an audio signal. So you'll need a good set of powered speakers to plug into your MacBook.

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black,blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
