Timeline not working - is there a better way?

First, what I'm trying to accomplish:
I have a div layer the explains how to navigate the ensuing
page.
I want this to display for about 25 seconds and then hide
while the other two divs on the page become visible.
I set up a timeline with three layers and made it
automatically play back.
I made the first layer visible for 25 seconds and then made
it hidden.
The other two divs started hidden and I made them visible
after 25 seconds.
It worked for a while but I went back to fine tune it but the
timeline appeared to be blank. I tried to set it up again but now
things are all screwed up.
Is there a better way to show and hide divs for specific
amounts of time?
Are there tricks to using timelines that I'm missing?

This doesn't really answer your question - but your post
raises some
other questions. If you have to explain to users how to
navigate your
site, isn't that a red flag that there are other more serious
issues?
Like making the site usable? If you still want to display
those DIVs,
not all people read at the same speed. After 25 or whatever
seconds some
people will be bored having to stare at that so long while
others will
not have had enough time to read it. Best to let the user
decide when to
close the DIV. The last thing to note is the Timeline is
pretty awful.
So bad in fact that it is being removed from Dreamweaver CS4.
You might
consider using Flash for "Timeline animations" instead.

Read and print out these instructions, your computer is going to be offline and you wil be cutoff from help until your machine is restored.
Clear the Desktop, Downloads and Trash of anything you wish to keep by placing their files in the respective Documents, Music, Pictures, Movie folders.
If you have a TimeMachine drive, update it and disconnect for the duration of this restore time. It will be your second backup system and will have to be wiped and setup again after successfully going back to Snow Leopard if it was connected to the OS X 10.7 boot drive. If it wasn't, then leave it disconnected without updating to Lion.
Backup ALL your Users folders (Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music etc) manually (drag and drop methods) to a (not TimeMachine) external powered drive (HFS+ journaled formatted in Disk Utility) and disconnect, your going to be wiping the entire disk of ALL DATA. (warning, everything will be gone and not recovered)
Here we go!
Hold c and boot off the 10.6 installer disk that comes with your computer and second screen in just STOP.
Look at the Utilities Menu for Disk Utility.
On the left is the name of your hard drive maker, click it and Erase (format HFS+ Journaled), give it the same name as before, and click Erase...
This should wipe the drive of ALL partitions (GUID, OS X and 10.7 Recovery, Windows if present)
When it's done, quit and install OS X 10.6. Then install all your programs from fresh sources and validate/update.
When you setup a first account, use the same user name as before, this way you can simply drag and drop the content of your previous Users folders from the external drive right back into the new Users folders and everything should work peachy. Links in iTunes to music, playlists and iPhoto links especially.
Update OS X to 10.6.8 using the Combo Update for best results.

(Note: If your original machine had 10.5 and you want the free iLife that comes with the disks with the computer, then you'll have to install 10.5 first using the same c boot/erase/format methods as above, then update to 10.6 via the disk, then Combo Update 10.6.8)
Final step optional but highly receommended.
A lot of people use a Carbon Copy Clone of their boot drive to a HFS+Journaled external drive as a "hold the option key" bootable backup in case something goes wrong with their boot drive or need to restore to a previous OS X version.. (in addition to TimeMachine drive for more immediate backups.)
It's not advised to have a Bootable Clone and a TimeMachine partition on the same external drive, as two drives gives hardware protection in case one fails.

Is There a Better Way to Work in the Marker List Window?

Is there a better way to sequentially listen to phrases one-by-one in the Marker List window? What I'm doing is Auto-Marking one single long file to break out 271 bits and save each as their own file. It's WAY faster than copying and pasting bits into new files and "saving as" 217 times.
BUT, after Auto-Marking, I have 300-400 phrases to listen to, deleting the non-keepers as I go, until I'm left with my "keeper" 271 marked phrases. But it's so tedious to move from phrase-to-phase. I have to double-click each one before I can hear it (you can move the cursor with the down-arrow, but it won't actually select the audio). So I have to use the mouse (unless I'm missing something) and double-click each of the hundreds of phrases. Then whenever I delete one (which I'll have to do about a hundred times or more to get rid of bad takes, alternates, etc.), inexplicably the cursor jumps way up the list so you have to scroll back down dozens of files to get to where you were. It took me 35 minutes to do it this last time.
Contrast that with Reaper's audition/preview functionality (which, ironically, AA has also, but only for files already saved into a folder). Once I had all the files saved into a folder, I QC'd all 217 files in Reaper and MAN what a difference! All I had to do was use the "down" arrow to advance to the next file AND have it play automatically (Audition can do the same thing with the "Open File" feature). It literally took me 5 minutes to check all 217 files that way. If AA could add that kind of functionality to the Marker List window, or if I'm just completely missing something (very possible) I would REALLY be happy.
Any ideas?

That doesn't quite do what I need. My end-product is 271 (used to be 116) separate files created from one large file. That large one is made up of WAY more than 271 (the VO actor records different versions of some commands, makes mistakes, etc.).
So I need the ability to listen to each marker, and then be able to delete it if need be.
The Playlist makes this impossible in two ways. It only has 2 options for hearing each marker, and neither option allows me to delete that marker after I've heard it. It either plays them all back-to-back without stopping, or it plays each as you click the "Move Down" button. That last one would be great if showed me which marker was playing! But it doesn't, so there is no way for me to know which marker number I just heard, nor can I delete that marker after I hear it.
Sigh.

I was hoping for a good bubble bursting, but I tried that HP "update" as soon as my printer stopped responding. I really really wanted my bubble popped.
One needs the Apple supplied driver for this work. It will not work because the driver to basically function on the updated Mavericks is not supplied by Apple Updates, so the HP driver that stops printing an extra page is rendered useless. I spent, wasted two days going back and forth between Support threads, HP chat and on the phone, through all the Mac channels where I was told that the 2011 HP was antique. HP said Apple had the drivers. So, they pointed a finger at one another with this unlucky customer caught in the crossfire. HP said Mac did it and Mac said HP did it. BOOM ! goes the guy in between who spent a good bit of money to have good equipment. What is wrong with expecting a printer to last beyond 3 years, or for a back up drive to last more than 3 years?
I do appreciate the attempt to help though. It was here in Discussions where I was guided to the gimp driver, drivers which in the past always worked when needed but in this case something wicked about Mavericks prevents it from working. No matter how many times HP says it works on their site all you have to do is try and then speak with customer service to find out that in a parellel universe this may logically hold. It does not hold here. If it were the case that by working in Lion it would work in Mavericks then there must be something wrong with me. But why, APPLE, is it that one day it works, do the update and then it does not when Lion was the previous OS? I did Everything, every single thing recommended by people who had good ideas and wanted to help but all too often the facts tell us nothing of the world. Facts are tools used to decieve, the world is where it works or does not work and in this case Mavericks has cost me close to $300. Probably not a big deal in some cases, but money is money. When it is gone it is gone.
I followed the complete uninstall, going into library and removing all HP, then restarting and lo and behold HP driver for 4500 not only was not present but along the way my 500gig back up drive died, as in dead, nothing.
Of course I will not buy another HP product. If you go to the list of drivers Mac says it carries the HP Officejet 4500 wireless may be present but is not carried by Apple. I have tried Apple update over and over. What I have done is wasted my time and money. In one fell update I lost a printer and a back up drive. No storms, no loss of electricity, no boogie men lurking, no malware, no gremlins, nothing but an innocent customer updating when Apple said "update". Sure it is serendipity that both my printer and back up drive died on the same day at the same time following the Mavericks update. Who am I but a loyal customer? I must be stupid because my equipment stopped responding after the update. It is not new that there are bugs and glitches following updates. I was a beta tester for OS X, it wiped my computer clean, but I understood, it was beta.
A friend told me the same about planned obsolescence in that since printers are cheap and ink is expensive they don't really care about customer satisfaction. Three years old is antique, out of date. We should and must all be angered by this hatred for the customer shown by manufacturers across the board. Blaming the customer is ridiculous and absurd but not unheard of, in fact it has become the rule of thumb from the other side. The customer is innocent. All we want is to buy premium equipment and to have it behave in a manner befitting the cost. I am an Apple user since 1994. I designed a restaurant on a 333 mhz black and white Mac. You know, the big floppy disc one. I am not new to Apple. Fiercely loyal for 20 years. This is the most angered I have been by the flippant attitude shown to us all.

I thought that by coming back later there would be updates and new links that would help. But no. Maybe one day. HP lost a customer, it means nothing to any of the manufacturers when a customer is ridiculed by their cynical attitude towards the customer. Maybe there will be someone else to come along here that has had similar experiences and found a way to fix. Used to be a gimp driver could do the trick. Used to be a way. Have you tried exporting a 10 second section of the footage to see if the issue shows up once the seqeunce is actually exported from the timeline. I edit on CS5 with windows 7 pro at work quite often and have no issues so I assure you that isn't the issue. I also edit with AVCHD footage when at home and work quite freqeuntly as well so I'm positive that isn't the issue. It sounds like a GPU driver has been corrupted in the way it interacts with premiere pro. What type of GPU do you have? If it supports MPE's GPU acceleration have you tried turning it off and seeing if that makes any difference?
Anyways though try to export a 10 second test section of your timeline to see if when the clip is exported from premiere it will play normally in windows media player or vlc or w/e media player you want to use. If it exports fine then you can almost be positive it's a corrupted video card driver. If that's the case I'd re-install your GPU's driver and also check your gpu makers website to see if they have a updated driver avaiable.

Is there a better way for this?
2. Most of the time, the JPanel changes the size according to the components on it. I have tried several LayoutManager, but it seems that those components have more priority. Is there a way to completely fix the JPanel so that they stay the same size?

Is there any better way to test an agent?

Every time when I changes some code in the agent, I have to restart the domain to load the new class file. I tried the reload the agent from the Oracle Enterprise Manager, but it is not working. The old agent is still going on. It gives me many troubles since I can't start the SMB server from Window 2000 terminal console. I have to go to the computer room to start SMB natively. Is there any better way to test an agent or start the SMB server in the Window 2000 terminal console?

Jailcorder requires a jail broken iDevice to work. While it is not illegal to jail brake your iPhone in the US it is illegal to jail break an iPad.
If you do that you will not be able to use these board for help as the discussion of anything relating to a jail broken iDevice is against the TOU and the hosts will remove your posts
In addition looking tha Jailcorder it seems it has not kept up with Apple. It doesn;t work Xcode 5 and IOS 7.
On final thing to keep in mind a jail broken device behaves differently then one that is non jail broken. So even of you test with Jailcode you will still need to go through testing with a non jail broken device before submitting.
All in all if you are serious about developing for IOS it would seem the better course is to get the Developer account now.

First post here and ofcourse it is a question I hopo you people don't mind. I will get right to the point:
I have a picture , or to be precise the pixels of a picture stored as a 3 dimensional array in the form of
img[y][x][color].
Since I am working on grayscale the color doesn't matter , so de facto I have a 2dim array of X-Y coordinates. For my programm ( a line tracker of sorts) I need to be able to select a subgroup of this array. This subgroup should be equivalent to a small (appr. 10x20 pixels wide) box in the original picture. My problem is that this box could be at any angle, that is it's side do not have to run parallel to the x-y-Axis.
Now how would be the best way of doing this?
My idea is to calculate the lines of the rectangle geometricaly and then try to approximate them onto the array. After that I can use them as boundaries to select every pixel that is inside the box.
Is there a better way? Does somebody have any experience with something similar?

Now I want to make it produce reports with aggregates and projections
without instantiating JDO instances. Here is an example of the sort of thing
I want it to be capable of doing:
Each asset has one associated t.description and zero or one associated
d.description.
For every distinct combination of t.description and d.description (skip
those for which there are no assets)
calculate some aggregates over all the assets with these values.
and here it is in SQL:

and checking the meta data against the database (by looping 5 times and
averaging only the last 4) but include PersistenceManager creation (which
happens inside the loop).
It would be too big a job for us to directly generate SQL from our generic
ad-hoc report GUI, so that is not really an option.

Neil,
It sounds like the problem that you're running into is that Kodo doesn't
yet support the JDO2 grouping constructs, so you're doing your own
grouping in the Java code. Is that accurate?
We do plan on adding direct grouping support to our aggregate/projection
capabilities in the near future, but as you've noticed, those
capabilities are not there yet.

Is there any better way for updating table other than this?

Hi all, I need to update a row in the table that require me to search for it first (the table will have more than hundred thousands of row). Now, I am using a LOV that will return the primary key of the row and put that primary key to DEFAULT_WHERE property in the block and execute query command to fetch the row that need updating. This works fine except that it require 2-query-trip per update (the lov and the execute_query). Is there any better way to doing this? This update is the main objective for my application and I need to use the most effective way to do it since we need to update many records per hour.

Thanks Rama, I will try your method. Others, how to query row instead of primary key? I thought that querying primary key is faster due to the index?
BTW, what people do if you need to update a table using Form? I have been using the LOV then execute query since I first developing form. But I am building a bigger database recently that I start worrying about multiple query trip to dbms.
FYI my table will have up to million rows on it. Each row will be very active (updated) within 1-2 weeks after it creation. After that it will exist for records purposes only (select only). The active rows are probably less than 1% of all the rows.
