To get the Application name

Hai experts,
I have a requirement as follows:
I have a component named as ZComponent which has 3 view.
i am creating 2 applications for the component named as zappl1 and zappl2.
zappl1 starts from first view itsef where as zappl2 starts from second view.
I have an ALV table in the second screen.
it shud not be editable for ZAPPL1 and shud be editable for ZAPPl2.
Inorder to that i need to get the application name at runtime in the WDDOINIT METHOD of the second view.
Is there any method to get the application name.
If so plz help me as soon as possible.
IF any doubts revert back to me ASAP.
Cheers,
Madhu

Hi Madhu,
You do not need the application name for this. The following would work:
1. Create one more inbound plug to your window (interface view), other than the existing plug (default). The second plug should also be an interface plug of type "startup".
2. Create a node in your component controller with an attribute denoting the editable property.
3. Map this node in the window's context.
4. Your window will have 2 plug handlers, for each startup plug. Inside one handler, set the editable attribute to true and in the other, set the same to false.
5. Map the same node in the view controller also, and in your view layout, bind the "read only" attribute of your table to the node attribute.
6. Create a new application, zappl2 and in the default plug, specify the name of the second plug.
Launch both applications, your control should be editable in one and read only in the other.

    Not sure about Weblogic Specific API however you can use Java API.
    public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException {
              // TODO Auto-generated method stub
              System.out.println(config.getServletContext().getRealPath(""));
              System.out.println(config.getServletContext().getContextPath());

    So far as I'm aware, you can't get metadata information about the underlying tables in a query from Oracle and/or the Oracle drivers. I suspect, in fact, that the driver would have to have its own SQL parser to get this sort of information.
    I'm curious though-- how do you have application logic that depends on the name of the source table but not know in the application what table is involved? Could you do something "cheesy" like
    SELECT 'tbl_customerRegistration' AS tbl1_name,
           tbl_customerRegistration.*

  • LabVIEW 8.0:: How to get the group name of a user logged to a NI Security Domain?

    Hello all,
    I am using LabVIEW 8.0 PDS.
    I created a new local domain called "MyDomain" in the "NI Domain Account Manager" . I added a new User called "MyUser" and a new group called "Maintenance". I set "MyUser" to be a member of the "Maintenance" group. Then, I configured LabVIEW to invoke the login dialog at start-up in order to log "MyUser" with the correct password.
    I would like to get the group name of the current user logged programmatically in a VI. I tried with the VI Server >> Application >> Security properties and methods and also with the properties and methods of the NI Security Class but it seems to be not so simple as I believed at start.
    I do not find any informations or KB on this (all the documents I found deal with LV DSC or TestStand).
     The final goal is to be able to manage a list of user for my application. Each user is a member of a group ("Administrator", "Operator", "Maintenance") and depending on the group, the user can or cannot access to some parts of the application.
    Thanks for your help.

    If you really own LV DSC 8.2 the best thing to do is to reinstall it.

  • How to get the computer name in a text box automatically?

    Hi,
    I am using flash cs4 (AS3). How can I get the computer name/username in a text box created for grabbing Username from the computer and show it in the username textbox automatically?
    Thanks.

    You can't running a SWF on a webpage. Can you imagine if a SWF had access to that OS-level information? It breaches everything Flash, browsers and the web stands for, which is "not being an application", therefore it has absolutely no access to your computer. Especially information like your username.
    If you're running a flash projector, that's different. Not that a projector can do that either, but projectors are applications and can be extended by things like MDM Zinc and ScreenTime mProjector. Going that route opens up the constraints on Flash Projectors and lets you tap into things like .dlls. Only via that route are you going to be able to get at such a low level item like the current logged on user.

  • Reading csv file how to get the Column name

    Hi,
    I am trying to read a csv file and then save the data to Oracle.
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection c = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:;Driver={Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)};Dbq=.;Extensions=csv,txn");
    Statement stmt = c.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select * from filename.csv");
    while(rs.next())
       System.out.println(rs.getString("Num"));
    My csv file looks like this:
    "CHAM-23","COMPANY NAME","Test","12",20031213,15,16
    Number,Environ,Envel,Date,Time
    "1","2",3,"4",5
    "6","7",8,"9",9
    Now is there anyway using the above code I start processing the file from the second row that holds the names of the columns and skip the first row. And also can I get the name of the column using ResultSet something like:
    if columnName.equals("Number")
    Because I may have a csv file that could have more columns:
    "CHAM-24","COMPANY NAME","Test","12",20031213,16,76
    Number,Environ,Envel,Date,Time,Total,Count
    "1","2","3","4","5",3,9
    "6","7","8","9",9",,2
    So I want to get the column name and then based on that column I do some other processing.
    Once I read the value of each row I want to save the data to an Oracle Table. How do I connect to Oracle from my Application. As the database is on the server. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks

    The only thing I could think of (and this is a cluj) would be to attempt to parse the first element of each row as a number. If it fails, you do not have a column name row. You are counting on the fact that you will never have a column name that is a number in the first position.
    However, I agree that not always placing the headers in the same location is asking for trouble. If you have control over the file, format it how you want. If someone else has control over the file, find out why they are doing it that way. Maybe there is a "magic" number in the first row telling you where to jump.
    Also, I would not use ODBC to simply parse a CSV file. If the file is formatted identically to Microsoft's format (headers in first row, all subsequent rows have same number of columns), then it's fine to take a shortcut and not write your own parser. But if the file is not adhering to that format, don't both using the M$ ODBC driver.

  • Getting the folder name of the service in Tomcat 5.5

    Hi,
    I am using Tomcat 5.5.
    I have a problem getting the folder name my service is located in.
    Ex.
    \webapps\myApp\...
    Here i would like the string "myApp" - does anyone know how to get this?
    The reason for this is that i use a war file to deploy "myApp". I have a set of properties which i don't want to change so I put them in a file outside "myApp" called "myApp.properties". I can then easily change between a test environment and my online environment.

    I don't think you understand his answer.
    Reading properties files from the file system directly is a mediocre solution at best for a web application. Even if it happens to work in this particular situation.
    For example you would be better off loading properties from a single properties file as classpath loaded resources and simply using the context as a key to the properties in question. You could also configure this from web environment parameters specific to the web application.
    Anything that puts a hard dependency on a particular file system layout is a bad idea, anything that reads files from within a web application server is likely to be a brittle solution.
    This may work, for you, in your current circumstances, but you need to understand why this is a poor approach in general.

  • In Mac how to get the Full name of a file Programmatically?

    Hi Friends,
             I am doing one Mac application for displaying the contents of a file. I can able to get some information about the file by using this code below...
      NSDictionary *dict=[fileManager attributesOfItemAtPath:myPath error:nil];
    Now I want to get the some other informations also like Full Name, copyRight, version... So Please suggest me how to get the full name of a file Programmaticallly?

    Your question doesn't make sense.
    First off, if you are going to get the attributes of a file, you need its full name before you can do anything. So that's part one taken care of.
    This function returns a dictionary full of typical file information (type, size, mod dates, etc.) as well as some HFS data (creator code, type code) which, I strongly suspect, are not "pulled out of the file" but rather generated on the spot. (See NSFileManager for the full list of attribute keys.)
    The other items you hoped of retrieving are not part of the regular file system. Sure, a Truetype font has a copyright string and a version, but what about an HTML file? A PNG? A text file you just created?
    There simply are no standard functions to retrieve copyright and version.

  • How to get the user name from Single Sign On Process?

    Post Author: sasikumar
    CA Forum: Authentication
    I am loging in Single Sign On Page. Then it goes to one JSP which lists out some links including InfoView link. While clicking InfoView link, I need to pass user name with the url for authentication. How and where can I get the user name?

    Care to be more specific what you mean with single sign-on? There are numerous ways this can be done.
    Just how you get the authenticated o/s user from within an Oracle session, depends on just how the actual authentication to Oracle was done in order to create that Oracle session.
    E.g. dealing in Oracle with a LDAP server is very different than dealing with a NT Primary/Secondary Domain Controller using o/s authentication, than dealing with a Java-based application server that does it own thing, etc.

  • How do I get the file name?

    I'm kind of new to javascript -- working with a colleague who has Adobe Acrobat Professional -- I've got an *old* version of Adobe Acrobat and most of the functions don't work -- but how do we get the file name -- we're trying to develop an application -- so if the user opens c:\something.pdf, we'd like to know the file name (something.pdf).
    If we get a fully qualified path, that's fine -- I think I can parse it.
    Thank you in advance.

    The 'paty' property of the 'doc' object has been available since version 3.01.
    Using the following in the JavaScript console when the Acobat JS API Refenece is open:
    this.path;
    returns:
    this.path;
    /C/Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 8.0/Help/ENU/JS_api_reference.pdf

  • How do I get the directory name that a class is located in?

    How do I get the directory name that a class is located in? I have a class located under /com/dhcmc and I want to be able to retrieve the "/com/dhcmc" that the class is residing under so that I can then use this directoy name to build a relative path name for the other directories supporting the application such as the images directory etc i.e.
    |---com
    |   \---dhcmc       (my class resides here)
    |       +---images  (supporting app dirs under the class dir)
    |       +---config  (supporting app dirs under the class dir)

    You can try the methods.
    Class.getClassLoader()
    Class.getResourceAsStream()
    Class.getResource()
    You probably wont get the complete directory path, but you might
    be able to load the files relative to your classes directory.

    PS: Apologies. Edited my previous post, presumably while you were composing your reply, when I finally realized what '.filed' meant.Most of my work is in web development, never been a DBA :) . The biggest 'concern' in my shop is 'separation of concerns'. The UI group reports up to a different IT head, the DB group reports up to a different IT head and so on. The looser the coupling between these systems, the lesser the project costs (Integration, QA etc) are. Martin Fowler's books contain good information about separation of concerns in an enterprise environment. The two books which i recommend are

  • How to get the JNDI name of an EJB from within itself

    Hello,
    I'm trying to find a way to get the JNDI name of a session bean from
    within itself.
    In the application I'm working on we need to support multiple
    customers. In order to do that, each EJB has a normal home and remote
    interface, a base class bean implementation and different children
    bean implemetations for each customer (when the logic for the
    customers is different). JNDI is used to get the proper implementation
    based on the customer.
    I've got an EJB that provides some services that are the same for all
    customers, except for the fact that it contains one variable that
    should have a different value depending on the customer. I don't want
    to creat subclasses just for that. What I want is to be able to get
    the JNDI name and set the variable based on the it.
    Is there a way to get the JNDI name for the EJB from within itself?
