  • Dynamic system resolution for portal published BI content

I have a Dev-Tst-Prd ABAP stack BI landscape with a corresponding Dev-Tst-Prd Java stack portal landscape.
My BI developers create reports and webdynpro applications which are then published to our portal and made available via iViews.  These iViews refer to the target applications via URLs which contain hardcoded hostnames and port numbers.  This makes it a pain when portal content is transported from Dev to Tst and then to Prd.
All my BI systems are known by the SAP_BW alias.  I have a different system definition in each portal for the SAP_BW alias pointing to the corresponding BI backend.
Can I use dynamic system resolution for this?  If so, how?
I want a URL like http://<devhost.domain>:<devport>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname to be transportable.  Obviously if that starts out as http://dev.mycompany.com:8100/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname, it won't work when it arrives in tst where it needs to be http://tst.mycompany.com:8110/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname.  If I could store the URL as something like http://<%JSP SAP_BW %>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname this could be transportable if there was something in dynamic system resolution to resolve the variable appropriately at runtime in each system.
As a Netweaver administrator, rather than a portal developer, I'm a little lost as to where to even start.

Success!  Thank you for your help.
    What finally worked?
Create a Portal Component iView of type com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
    Set URL Template to http://<System.wap.ITS.hostname>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zcs_wd_cc_app
Set System to SAP_BW (where SAP_BW is an alias for the System entry for the system where we want the WebDynpro app to run)
Where did the help come from?
    SDN (Mr Nicholls in particular)
    SAP Help (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/21/dfd241cb76c417e10000000a155106/frameset.htm in particular)
Where did the parameter value reference come from?
The "wap.ITS.hostname" attribute name came from the portal's system definition for SAP_BW.  Under System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape -> Portal Content the entry for the SAP_BW system can be displayed.  In that system entry there is a field labelled SAP ITS host which contains the fully qualified hostname and port number for the ITS server delivering my application.  Expanding the detail of this field (click the arrow head beside the name) shows its Property ID to be wap.ITS.hostname.
So this last answers my earlier question about where to find the valid contexts and attributes per context for the variables to substitute in the URL template.  The contexts are the names of the fields available to configure the iView, the attributes are the Property IDs of the relevant information fields in the obect described by the context.
Note:  This solution ended up only being required for WebDynpro content.  The generated URL for WebDynpros appears to resolve any load-balance ITS URL to a specific host and port before publishing, the method here leaves the resolution until runtime - a great advantage in performance and flexibility.
The Web Application Designer published report content was generated in a transportable form already.

  • Regarding Support of Dynamic system  resolution for iview "Skills profile"

    Hi All,
I wanted to know whether of dynamic system resolution "VIR" is supported for persinfo  webdnpro Java iview ??
Also I would like to know the procedure that is to be followed so that a iview uses the dynamic system configuration. What are the actual steps ?
If there are any documents related to this please let me know it would really help.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Removing or replacing system resolutions

I have finally purchased a replacement mini for use with my HDTV. I've gotten all the custom resolutions (overscan correction) created and installed using DisplayConfigX. It looks great.
My problem is that I can't get rid of those "standard" resolutions that OSX is always providing. Things like 640x480, 640x480 (stretched), 720x480, and 1024x588 (?). These resolutions do not work with my HDTV, and I want to avoid any application attempting to select them (the g-force visualizer for instance). There is a selection in DisplayConfigX to "Disable system resolutions for this monitor" but it doesn't.
Does anyone know of a way I can remove these resolutions or at least prevent them from being selectable through the display preferences?
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

SwitchRes X allows you to disable resolutions. As far as I know it doesn't remove them. It just doesn't allow them to be selected. I haven't actually used that feature so I can't confirm that it works as advertised. I am just noting that it is there.

  • How to disable html for whole swing application.

    Hi,
As we can disable html for individual swing components , for example JLabel
    label.putClientProperty("html.disable",Boolean.TRUE);
    BasicHTML.updateRenderer(label,"html.disable");
is there any way to disable html rendering in swing components for system wide / whole application?.
    Thanks
    Kiran

Better use a utility method in the application like this
    public static void disableHtml(JComponent component)
    component.putClientProperty("html.disable",Boolean.TRUE);
    BasicHTML.updateRenderer(component,"html.disable");
call disableHtml(Component u want to set html disable) for any component in the application.

  • How do I adjust display resolution for Mac Mini?

How do I adjust display resolution for Mac Mini? Text does not look crisp.  Using Samsung 27 inch monitor with HDMI input

Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays. Depending on your version of Mac OS X, it may be set for "Best for Display" in which case it should already be set at the optimum for your monitor, or it may display resolution options in which case you should set it for the native resolution of your display.
    Regards.

  • Display resolution for 2014 MBP?

How do you adjust the display resolution to the "native" 2880 x 1800 on a mid 2014, 15 inch rMBP with NVIDIA Graphics?
    I can not obtain a resolution above 1920 x1200.

    Hello there, pf2555.
When adjusting resolution for your MacBook Pro Retina, the following Knowledge Base article offers some information on that regard:
Frequently asked questions about using a Retina display - Apple Support
How do I adjust the resolution of my Retina display?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012 and later) displays have a 2560-by-1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors.
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) and MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013 and later) displays have a 2880-by-1800 native resolution at 220 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors.
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) displays have a 5120-by-2880 native resolution with support for millions of colors.
If you need to adjust the display resolution, choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu. The Retina display offers scaled resolutions that allow you to have text and objects appear larger on screen, or to make them appear smaller which provides more space on screen.  Note: Scaled resolutions do not offer the same visual quality as the Retina setting. Scaled resolutions may also impact graphics performance depending on which applications you are using.
MacBook Pro with Retina display (13-inch) scaled resolution choices
MacBook Pro with Retina display (15-inch) scaled resolution choices
iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, Late 2014) scaled resolution choices
Retina displays only use scaled resolutions rather than specific resolution settings like external displays. If you need to use a different resolution than those available on the built-in display, consider attaching an external display via HDMI or Thunderbolt.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • BackGround picture for a Swing application??

  • How to control Color Mode and Resolution for brochure creation?

    Hello guys,
I am trying to find some settings within Pages, where I could set CMYK color mode and 300 dpi resolution for my pdf file.
I am creating brochure from scratch, using blank document, because non of brochure templates work for what I need. But I can't find any controls for color mode and resolution set up.
Is there any solution for this?

There has been a lot of discussion in the Pages forum about resolution and some on CMYK.
Much of the discussion has been incorrect.
For the colour handling there is the colour palette
The Apple Colour Palette is the user interface for colour managing vector objects created in Apple Pages such as rules and panels and for colour managing one class of vector objects not created in Apple Pages, namely typographic objects.
Imported objects maintain their colourant model and colour space, if there is one. If there is none, a colour space is assigned and the assigned colour space is saved out into the PDF, opposite e.g. Adobe Photoshop which will colour manage the object in the open editing session, but will then save out the object to disk without the assigned ICC profile if 'Colour Management: Off' is configured.
Therefore, if the imported object is data space CMYK and the colour space device CMYK, the system will assign the Generic CMYK Profile which is equivalent to ANSI CGATS TR001 colourimetry (US SWOP); if the imported object is data space RGB and the colour space is device RGB, the system will assign the Generic RGB Profile which is equivalent to sRGB colourimetry in OS X 10.5 and higher.
In general, always capture and then convert for correction in one of two data spaces with three channels, either ICC colour managed RGB or ICC CIELa*b D50. Then convert to CMYK1, CMYK2, CMYK3, CMYKn from the ICC colour space chosen for correction and archiving. This colour space should be large enough to hold any colours that the output colour spaces can hold.
The Apple ColorSync Utility has a gamut comparison dialogue which is 3D (point, press, and turn the 3D gamut comparison). Use this facility to pick an ICC colour space of reasonable size and shape for correction and conversion into final output. Don't pick sRGB as a quick look will show that it can't hold as input what ISO reference offset can hold as output for pure cyan, let alone hold what a big inkjet can hold in greens, blues, reds and yellows.
The ICC architecture lets the ICC profile for the printed output match out of gamut colours to in gamut colours using the Perceptual rendering intent, as intended in the original architecture from 1995. Adobe internally introduced an inhouse conversion for compatibility with PostScript and as default for PDF, Relative Colorimetric with Adobe Black Point Compension. Relative Colorimetric is in fact a proofing transform, without gamut mapping. Black Point Compensation is a simple linear scaling of the lightness to compensate for the fact that the shadows will be clipped in a Relative Colorimetric conversion.
The other problem is transparency, introduced in the QuickDraw Graphics Extension for Mac OS 7.5. Transparency is not supported in any version of Adobe PostScript (level 1, level 2 or level 3). Transparency is also not supported in any version of Adobe PDF prior to version 1.4 and higher. Therefore, unless the RIP Raster Image Processor is able to accept PDF 1.4 and higher, transparency has to be rendered / flattened which is done in the PDF/X-3 filter of the Apple ColorSync Utility.
The idea in the PDF/X-3 filter (for Adobe PDF 1.3) is that the everyday enduser, after placing ICC colour managed RGB or CIE La*b D50 objects, and after choosing an ICC colour space for objects created in Pages, chooses the ICC colour space for the output condition. The filter accepts both ICC profiles of type MNTR Monitor with data space RGB, ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data space RGB, and ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data sapce CMYK.
The colourant conversion (RGB to CMYK) and the gamut mapping (out of gamut colours in input colour spaces mapped to in gamut colours in output colour space) is then calculated as per the ICC profile for the output condition. An output condition is the combination of factors that affect how colour is formed: the colour lightness and colour tint of the paper, the colours of the colourants, and the tone value increase. Think of gamut mapping in a good ICC profile as Format 1 kerning in a TrueType font (where your font has state-based kerning for up to 8 glyphs simultaneously).
Below a link to a discussion of how to change the default PDF/X-3 filter the Apple ColorSync Utility. "Wegen diverser Fehler im Mac OS X empfiehlt es sich, wo immer möglich, die PDFs ohne Transparenzreduktion (also auf normalem Weg) über den Befehl Als PDF sichern zu erstellen und das Flattening der Druckerei zu überlassen," that is, pick the plain save as PDF path and leave the transparency flattening to the prepress technician.

  • Resolution for 15.4 inch screen laptop pro?

Anyone know the natural resolution for the 15.4 inch screen. When I was browsing the different sizes it didn't give me a chance to restore it back to the way it was. I went to System preferences and display. I'm guessing it's 1440 by 900, is this correct? Thanks in advance.

The "native" resolution is 1440x900 which is in fact a widescreen resolution.
The detect displays allows the video card to detect any display you have added through the DVI port and either mirror what is already on screen or just be used as a 2nd screen to expand your current one.
I use it by hooking up a widescreen monitor (1440x900 incidentally but it doesn't have to be) which makes working at home very comfortable.

  • Dynamic System Resolution issues

    hello forumers,
i'd like to implement a Dynamic System Resolution scenario, on an EP7 sp14.

I tried to change the target R/3 server, based on the group to which the user belong !
    i've created a portal service : portalapp.xml =

    hello,
thanks for your quick reply !
i alredy used your blog to create my DSR scenario ...
as you could see, i didn't even change the alias and i used the name you have prrovided in your blog !
please find just behind a copy of "portal runtime" in the System Administration:
Portal Application Name Depends on Dependents Access State
    NewPortalAppProject   com.sap.portal.ivs.api_dynamicSystemService
    com.sap.portal.usermanagement   service: NewPortalAppProject|DSRPortalService     (refresh)
    Portal Service Items :
Class Name Class Name Factory Pool Size Nb Accessed Last Accessed Time Last Stopped Time State
    com.airbus.DSR.DSRPortalService none 0 1 Thu Jan 15 11:05:25 CET 2009 never started (restart)
and also the content of runtime in the portal Registry browser:
    You are here: ROOT/runtime/alias.mappers
Child list of the current context:
    Name Class name
    SAP_SRM java.lang.String - NewPortalAppProject|DSRPortalService
do you have any idea of what i might have forgotten please ?
    best regards,
    Olivier.

  • Setting the default resolution for sap logon

    Hi, ALL!
I'm terribly tired of SAP interface. It's so uncomfortable for work.
For example maybe you know khow to set the default resolution for sap logon to make it use its widgets of proper size. e.g. when i work with transfer rules, it has only half of screen for useful area (i use 1400x1050), and right part is just empty, but on the left very many small fields and you should constantly use scrollbars (i think you know it well). Maybe there is system customizing for this purpose.

    Hello Dmitry,
There is no customizing for this - atleast to my knowledge.
However, you should have to redo the settings again and again unless you are continuously re-sizing the main window.
    Cheers

  • System Resolution Settings in Reports 6i

I am running my report in 1024 by 768 pixels(NT Desctop Setting). When I change this system resolution to 600 by 800 pixels, my report output(layout) changed... That means header fields printing in next line, column values merged one with another.. So I see wrong report output. Is there any way to sort this problem

    hello,
this can happen, if you use destype=screen instead of destype=preview. screen uses the screen-fonts for rendering while preview uses the definitions ment for printing.
