Too much time to download an app, is it normal ???

I'm currently downloading the EA madden 11 game app ( 320M ) is it normal that took 55 min to down loading it ???? I'm doing this task from my laptop .........
las nigth it took me 2 hours to down load the touch software update too......evrething else work fine in my computer ........ do I have an issue with my equipment ?????
or this is a normal download times for this type of apps/software updates ?
100000 Thanks !!!

Same problem here. I'm trying to download two large NASA apps, one of them over 300MB. I downloaded them on the device (iPod Touch 4G, latest iOS) but the installation won't complete. I even left the WiFi on for the night but something's clearly amiss because none of the apps would install. There's a progress bar in the icon but it's moving like 1mm a day... -.-
Using broadband connection, internet seems to work fine on the PC.
I have updated and installed other apps successfully in the meanwhile.
I thought it was the file size, so I thought I'd dl them with iTunes (latest version), but even there the estimated downloading time is nearly an hour.
The problem is, there are now two app icons appearing to be loading on my iPod screen and I can see no way to remove them! I can only Pause the installation but not cancel it completely. Is there a way to abort the whole thing and get rid of the icons before the installation is complete?
Thanks

    Hi,  from the last two days my iphone( iphone 4 with ios 5) have very slow to open the apps and very slow when i check the notification window , it taking too much time to open when i tap to down . help me to resolve the issue.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
    Restart... Reset... Restore...
    iPhone Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...
    If that does not help... See Here:

    You may need to reset your network settings, making sure the network you're accessing is stable: tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    If your iPhone still can't connect to App Store, tap Settings > iTunes & App Store > tap the Apple ID and sign out > later, sign in with your Apple ID.

  • Backing Up Requires Too Much TIme

    I have been messing around with iTunes for the past 6 hours. When I talked to an associate they encouraged me to download the new iTunes. In return I am currently having to wait hours for my iPod to be "Back uped." I found some helpful hints online and followed them - including deleting all my apps. Still, my iPod will not go past backing up. It makes me so mad that a process that should take no longer than 10 minutes has wasted almost 7 hours of my day. Apple needs to fix this problem IMMEDITELY.

    taking too much time and not connecting to ipad software server and not updating.. why

    because everyone is doing the same thing you are... be patient, and you will get the update... I had to grab the update over 3G (it won't let you download or install, but it got me in the door) and then switch back to wifi and download and install.

  • BPC application is taking too much time to load

    Hi experts!
    I'm facing a very weird problem...
    We've developed a BPC application (app name: USM).
    This application is taking too much time to be loaded  in some computers (around 8 minutes to load).  Yes, in SOME computers.
    There is around 100.000 registers in the database and most coming from material master data.
    If I try to load this USM application in another computer, the process loads smoothly. The computer's hardware is all the same, the server is hyper estimated and everyone is in the same network.
    I talked to infrastructure departament and we made several tests. We run BPC on the server (loaded quickly), on several computers (some loads quickly, others don't), used wireless and cable connection (got all the same result) and checked communication between BW and BPC but it is ok.
    After all, I tried to load APSHEL application in the same enviroment and it loaded intantly. So, I guess it is something wrong with my application. But if was this, I suppose it should happen to all computers and not only with part of them.
    Have anybody ever seen something like this?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Rubens,
    I would try making a couple of test:
    1. I will install the client in a machine that is located in the same network segment, or try using a vpn that comunicates with the server bypassing all security devices, only to see if the network it's the problem.
    2. Making a full optimize of one application to see if maybe the problem it's related to the segmentation of the cubes (i don't think that this is the problem but give it a try).
    It is very wierd that in some computers happends and in others don't... also try to clean up the local cache of the applications in those computers that are giving to you bad performce and retry.
    hope it helps,

  • Azure Data Sync Log Take Too Much Time to Load

    Hi,
    I've found that the Azure Sync Log inside the Portal take too much time to load if my sync group was created long time ago. i.e. for those new sync group with only a few logs, it will take around 5 seconds for loading. However, I've many sync group created
    more than 1 year, and it will take me up to 10 minutes for viewing the first page of the logs.
    It seems the Portal will download ALL the logs to my browser even I just want to view the most recent logs (maybe I just want to view the last 10 records, but it will download the whole 5000 pages?)
    It will be great if the Portal only fetch the data of the page I am currently viewing, instead of fetching all the logs.
    Is there any ways to speed up the log loading time?
    Michael Yung

  • Parsing the query takes too much time.

    Hello.
    I hitting the bug in в Oracle XE (parsing some query takes too much time).
    A similar bug was previously found in the commercial release and was successfully fixed (SR Number 3-3301916511).
    Please, raise a bug for Oracle XE.
    Steps to reproduce the issue:
    1. Extract files from testcase_dump.zip and testcase_sql.zip
    2. Under username SYSTEM execute script schema.sql
    3. Import data from file TESTCASE14.DMP
    4. Under username SYSTEM execute script testcase14.sql
    SQL text can be downloaded from http://files.mail.ru/DJTTE3
    Datapump dump of testcase can be downloaded from http://files.mail.ru/EC1J36
    Regards,
    Viacheslav.

    Bug number? Version fix applies to?
    Relevant Note that describes the problem and points out bug/patch availability?
    With a little luck some PSEs might be "backported", since 11g XE is not base release e.g. 11.2.0.1.

  • Index taking too much time... anyway to enhance that??

    I am creating an index on clob data column .... it s getting too much time any way to enhance that..
    Giving script as below :
    CREATE INDEX myindex ON sgvd_doc_ver(DOC_FILE) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT parameters ('sync (every "sysdate+(1/24/60)")');

    Spot on with the choice of link.
    Very large memory also means fewer entries per word, which can make queries more efficient. (Oracle calls this "fragmentation" but only mentions it with respect to updating the context index.
    Another detail that helps is to add as many words to the stop-list as possible before you create the index.

    If you never mark your questions as answered people will eventually decide that it's not worth trying to answer you because they will never know whether or not their answer has been of any use, or whether you even bothered to read it.
    It is also important to mark answers that you thought helpful - again it lets other people know that you appreciate their help, but it also acts as a pointer for other people when they are researching the same question, moreover it means that when you mark a bad or wrong answer as helpful someone may be prompted to tell you (and the rest of the forum) what's so bad or wrong about the answer you found helpful.

  • Execution script too much time than before

    Hi experts,
    We run tunning script on daily basis which analyze multiple table of oracle ebs 11i oracle 10g and we also have execute schema statistics,
    Issue is this it take too much time to complete some time more than 12 hrs. It looks like hang on gathereing statistics Inv and ont schema.
    Kindly give me solution
    e.g
    analyze table inv.mtl_transaction_types compute statistics;
    analyze table wip.wip_schedule_groups compute statistics;
    analyze table WSH.WSH_DELIVERY_DETAILS compute statistics;
    exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS('APPS'); ---APPS, APPLSYS, INV,ONT,WSH, SYS, SYSTEM, GL,HR,AR,AP,CE,WIP,
    ---PO,MSC,PJI
    exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS('APPLSYS');
    exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS('INV');
    exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS('ONT');
    exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS('WSH');
    Now its taking more than 15 minut and not yet complete.
    Thanks

    but to gather statisics for some schema it takes too much time. First it take 3 hrs for whole script now it is taking more than 15 hrs and some scheam go to
    complete and some are still hang then we have to cancel this job.
    I also experiment to execute one by one schema at that time it is completed normally.Have you done any changes recently (i.e. upgrade, installed new patches, data load ..etc)?
    Have you tried to use different parameters? -- Definition of Parameters Used in Gather Schema Statistics Program [ID 556466.1]
    You could enable trace and generate the TKPROF file to find out why it takes that long to gather schema statistics.
    FAQ: Common Tracing Techniques within the Oracle Applications 11i/R12 [ID 296559.1]
    Enabling Concurrent Program Traces [ID 123222.1]
    How To Get Level 12 Trace And FND Debug File For Concurrent Programs [ID 726039.1]
    I would also suggest you log a SR as "Gather Schema Statistics" is a seeded concurrent program and Oracle Support should be able to help.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
