TopLink 11g and coherence integration

TopLink 11g comes up with seamless integration with coherence. Integration options are discussed at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/tl_grid.html
Can someone provide working examples of each configuration options:
1. Oracle TopLink Grid Coherence Read
2. Oracle TopLink Grid: Coherence Read/Write Configuration
3. Oracle TopLink Grid: Using Coherence as a Shared L2 Cache
Thanks in Advance.

On the above listed page each of the configuration option listed links to a how-to showing the configuration in use.

  • BPM 11g and Webcenter integration

    Hi, I have a lot of doubts about how to use BPM 11g 'inside' or integrated with Webcenter.
    I need some tutorials, links and docs if possible.
    thanks!

    Did you try the product documentation?

  • 11g and Coherence (pre-requisite?, included?)

    We are planning to work with SOA Suite 11g for a mid scale project.
    From the download's site it looks like Weblogic + Coherence "package" is a pre-requisite.
    However we see licencing issues as we did not purchase any license for Coherence.
    Is Coherence a Formal Pre-Requisite for SOA Suite 11g and/or OSB (service bus) 11g ?
    Some people on forums suggest Coherence is "included" in SOA Suite. Would this be the case from the licensing point of view (i.e. licence for SOA Suite / OSB gives us the right to use Coherence without paying separately ?
    Last not least, can we install SOA Suite with Weblogic only (no Coherence), even if the download page indicates we should have the Weblogic + Coherence package in place ?
    Many thanks,
    CL.

    Hi
    1. I am not much familiar with Coherence License stuff. As far as I know, Coherence is used for Caching Framework and is part of the Weblogic Server and it may not have anything to do with SOA Stuff. BUT incase if internally SOA files uses Coherence APIs for Caching, then you may need this component also installed.
    2. YES, you can install WLS without coherence. Even though your installer has WLS + Coherence, at the time of installation of WLS, choose the option like Custom (instead of default Typical). In the following screens, you can UnCheck the boxes for Coherence (and its samples). So you get only WLS installed. On top of this install SOA. Create a SOA Domain. Start admin and soa servers. If they start fine without any errors referring coherence APIs, then you are good to go.

  • Jdeveloper 11G and ADE integration

    Hi ,
    I am planning to use , JDeveloper and ADE . Is it possible to use both in windows platform.
    I have a windows XP laptop and have already installed JDeveloper in that. Is it possible to integrate ADE with that ? . Or ADE is only possible to install in linux boxes ?
    Pls help
    Thanks

    Wouldn't this be a question to ask on a ADE forum (if there is one)?
    Or you give more info about what you are talking about. Google tells me that ADE is 'Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE)' but I guess this is not what you meant.

  • Anything fixed in Oracle TopLink 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0) ?

    Was there anything fixed in Oracle TopLink 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0) ?
    I don't see anything in release notes ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/11110/relnotes/toplink-relnotes.html ) regarding fixes. Anybody know where I can get that info? We have run into a couple of issues in the previous 11g release (11.1.1.0.1) and want to know if those issues have been addressed in the new release.
    Thanks!

    The two major areas of work in 11gR1 (11.1.1.1.0) are enhancements to EclipseLink included with the its 1.1.1 release as well as enhancements around TopLink Grid (JPA-Coherence integration).
    The EclipseLink 1.1.1 fixes are documented here: http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Release/1.1.1

    Fixing listener is not enough. Old and lastest code has this for references to ServerPlatform.launchContainerRunnable, which WebSpherePlatform do not override:
    CommandPropagator:
    public void asynchronousPropagateCommand() {
    // The async logic is in the run() method
    rcm.logDebug("async_propagation", (Object[])null);
    this.rcm.getServerPlatform().launchContainerRunnable(this);
    public void propagateCommand(RemoteConnection conn) {
    Object[] arguments = { command.getClass().getName(), conn.getServiceId() };
    rcm.logDebug("propagate_command_to", arguments);
    try {
    // The result will be null on success, and an exception string on failure
    Object result = conn.executeCommand(command);
    if (result != null) {
    // An error occurred executing the remote command
    handleExceptionFromRemoteExecution(conn, (String)result);
    } catch (CommunicationException comEx) {
    // We got a comms exception.
    this.handleCommunicationException(conn, comEx);
    JMSTopicRemoteConnection:
    DiscoveryManager:
    public void startDiscovery() {
    if (rcm.isCommandProcessorASession()) {
    rcm.getCommandProcessor().processCommand(new ProfileDiscoveryStartedCommand());
    // Only start if we are currently stopped
    if (this.isDiscoveryStopped()) {
    this.rcm.getServerPlatform().launchContainerRunnable(this);
    JMSTopicTransportManager:

  • Toplink JPA with Coherence deployment to Weblogic 10.3

    Hi,
    I have created an EJB application using Toplink JPA and Coherence. I would like to deploy this application to Weblogic 10.3.
    During the startup of Weblogic I have specified the Java option as
    -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=D:/JDEV_11g/jdeveloper/jdev/mywork/CoherenceApp/CoherenceProject/src/META-INF/coherence-cache-config.xml.
    Persistence.xml and coherence-cache-config.xml are palced inside the jar file.
    When I execute the ejb client program, during the method call, I can see that coherence is started but it uses the cache-config from the coherence.jar file instaed of the value I have set during startup. How can I make weblogic use my cache-config.xml? I have included the log file entries from server:

    Hi Raji,
    You mentioned:
    >

    >
    It appears that these are conflicting; as the system property indicates that the config should be read from a file, whereas the file is actually deployed in a jar.
    That being said, I would suggest double checking that the system property is actually being set in the JVM. In my testing, if I specify a cache config that does not exist, an exception will be thrown:
    java -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=foo.xml  com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory

    i read the Oracle JDeveloper 11g Installation Guide and in "11 Using WebLogic Server with Oracle JDeveloper"
    "Installing Oracle JDeveloper Studio 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) also automatically installs Oracle WebLogic Server 10g Release 3 (10.3). Oracle JDeveloper uses this preconfigured installation as the Integrated WLS, a Oracle JDeveloper-managed server for testing and debugging your applications from within the IDE. *After installing Oracle JDeveloper, everything you need to begin developing, testing and debugging web applications is installed and configured for you; no additional configuration steps are necessary for development purposes.*"

  • OBI EE 11g and BI Publisher 11g integration training

    BIP Experts,
    Does anyone know of any good OBI EE 11g and BI Publisher 11g integration training?
    I am struggling to create even the simplest of Reports?
    Or does anyone have 10 mins to give me a quick once over of how I can create two simple Reports?
    One using OBI EE as a DataSource and one using a OBI EE Report in the Web Catalog?

  • GoldenGate and Coherence

    Hi,
    There is recent requirement where customer has asked for GoldenGate integration with Oracle Coherence.
    Can anyone provide some pointers, I have browsed a lot but was didn't get anything substantial.
    Some documentation or something + I have also get this thing that above integration is expected in 2012, till now its not possible.
    Some of the stuff I browsed suggests that:
    1) Using DCN or AQ (along with some triggers , JMS listeners) to publish changes to coherence.
    2) Some posts suggested using GG Java API
    3) others suggested using GG JMS Adapter.
    which was is good or any other option.
    Thanks,
    Vikas

    The out-of-the-box GoldenGate integration with Coherence and TopLink to keep a Coherence cache in-sync with the database (for those times when the database is updated not through the cache) was a coordinated development effort amongst the GoldenGate, TopLink and Coherence products. This feature will work in the upcoming GoldenGate v11.2 "adapters" release, but I just found out myself that this will be shipped with Coherence, as part of the 12c release (but will work in any OGG 11.2 or later release).
    In the meantime, you've correctly enumerated your available options.

  • Obiee 11g and custom j2ee app using the same cookie name

    Hi,
    I wrote a same j2ee web application. i'am using authentification through a realm configured in the web.xml.
    This web app is deployed in the same weblogic than obiee 11g. What i want to do is to embed my application in a dashboard using an iframe tag, and use the same login from analytics to my custom web app.
    In this article http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11035_01/wls100/security/thin_client.html#wp1039551, it is said that by default, all web apps in the sames weblogic server are using the same cookie name so that they share authentification between them. However, i have read in the web that analytics in obiee 11g is using a cookie with the name "ORA_BIPS_NQID".
    In the weblogic.xml of my custom application, i set the cookie-name parameter to ORA_BIPS_NQID. However, in the dashbord, it still prompt for authentification to my custom web app.
    How can we share authentification between analytics and a custom web app in the same weblogic ?
    NB : I dont want to pass the username et password through the url.
    Thanks.

    By default, if you don't specify a cookie-name in the weblogic.xml configuration file, the weblogic server create a cookie named JSESSIONID for your application. For exemple, if two applications use the default configuration, both of them will use the same cookie name which is JSESSIONID. In this case, when you log in the first application, your are automaticaly logged in the second application with the same credentials. I have already test this kind of integration and it works perfectly. You only need that the two applications are deployed in the same weblogic server.
    Now, i want to have the same behaviour between obiee 11g and my custom application deployed in the same weblogic server. I read somewhere in the web that obiee 11g presentation service (analytics) is configured with a cookie-name value = "ORA_BIPS_NQID". So in the weblogic.xml configuration file of my web app, i specify a cookie-name value = "ORA_BIPS_NQID" to have the same cookie-name between the two application. But, it still not work. It prompt for authentification in the dashboards.
    I now, that such an integration is possible, because the other bi applications (mapviewer, bipublisher,...) are actually other web applications. However when using, for exemple, maps in dashbords, the mapviwer application automaticaly user the credentials of the user connected in analytics.

  • Migration path from 10.1.3.3.0 to Oracle TopLink 11g: Technical Preview 2 ?

    What is needed to migrate from 10.1.3.3.0 to Oracle TopLink 11g Preview 2?
    Does using Java 5 and swapping the Jar files are enough?
    Can I use as is all the configurations generated by TopLink Workbench 10.1.3.3.0?
    What is working in 10.1.3.3.0 that is not yet or will not be working in Oracle TopLink 11g?

    If you open the project in the 11g preview it will automatically update the metadata and generate the deployment XML in the new format. Alternatively you should be able to open the 10.1.3.3 metadata in the 11g preview's runtime.
    The biggest issue you may encounter in the upgrade besides replacing the libraries and ensuring you are using JDK5 is the removal of the code deprecated in previous releases.

    Am I to assume that jdk1.4.x is no longer supported in JDeveloper and that I should start using JDK1.5.x? But apps built with JDK1.5.x are not supported in AppServer 10.1.2.0.2, which is J2EE 1.3 compliant... Does that mean that JDeveloper 11g is suitable only for apps deployed on OAS 10.1.3.x and above? (OAS 10.1.3.x is J2EE 1.4 compliant, and OAS 11g will be J2EE 5.x compliant).
    Comments please.
    Thx!

    be on OracleAs 10.1.3 at a minimum<<The problem (for us) with Oracle AS 10.1.3 is that Portal 10.1.4 will not run on it (not certified). We want to take advantage of ADF RC and we hope to be able to produce JSF portlets or "portletized" apps. But at the moment we are "stuck" with 10.1.2.0.2 and JDK 1.4.x/J2EE1.3...
    While you can have a 10.1.2 farm and add a 10.1.3 separate instance it is not a clean/complete integration (you can't manage all services from the 10.1.2 farm EM and others; this is what I've seen so far, IMO).
    We can't wait for OAS 11g to come out and take a look at that. And I certainly hope that Portal will be certifed on 11g so that we can just jump there.
    Another wish: WebCenter functionality in Portal, or Portal/WebCenter rolled out into one.
