Torch favorites panel acting up

I have a torch 9810 on att. The favorites panel is randomly replacing the icons with duplicates, ex. I now have a second browser icon where my calculator icon used to be. If i delete the extra icon, in this case the calc-turned-browser,  i have to go to the calculator icon in the "all" panel, unmark it as favorite, then re-mark it as favorite to return it to the favorites panel.  This has been a recurring problem over the past month or so, and has occurred with numerous icons, which hqve included apps, websites, and email addresses.
I have tried both soft and hard (battery remove) restarts. As far as i know, i have the most recent software.
Any thoughts?

If you have the most recent software (or even if your software is years old), let's reload it to your phone.  It's amazing how reloading even the exact same OS to your phone can sometimes smooth things out.
So, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software (available at www.blackberry.com/desktop if you don't have it already installed on your PC).  Once your phone has connected, click Device at the top of the software then Update.  You can also click Device>Restore but clicking Update will allow you to see if there's a newer version of OS that you might want to load instead.  Once the box pops up, you'll either be told you're up to date or you'll be told there's a newer version available.  Choose the newer one if one's available or click View Other Versions.  From that box, choose the one that says Currently Installed and reload it to your phone.
Let us know if that helps you.
- If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Can't open folders in Favorites Panel-Bridge CS3

    I just added a couple of folders to my "favorites" panel, so I can find them more easily.  I have only two folders in the favorites panel.  But when I click on them, nothing happens.  They don't open.  At the bottom of the screen, the loading icon rotates (next to number of items, and number hidden) but then goes away and nothing happens.
    I can open these folders from the Content Panel.
    Thanks in advance ...

    Not sure if I understand you correctly but pointing to a folder in the
    favorites should show the content of that folder in the content panel, is
    that what you can see or do you expect something different to happen?
    If you point to a folder in the favorites panel and use right mouse click
    you have two options, remove from favorites and reveal in Finder.
    Try reveal in Finder and see to what folder you end up and check if it has
    content.
    And when you say 'can open in the content panel' from what point did you
    start, the folder panel or the favorites panel?
    I can open these folders from the Content Panel.

  • Icon size in Favorites panel changeable?

    I'm using CS2 Bridge (1.0.4.6), a couple of steps out of date, and trying to make use of the Favorites panel. I understand how to get things into it (I'm dragging pictures to it) and out of it (only one item at a time, ASFAIK). The icon that goes with the file name is so small as to be pretty much unusable, and I'm left with a lot of file names like _DSCxxxx.jpg which is useless. Is there any way to change the icon size in this panel?
    Click once opens the file immediately in PS, option click does nothing, ctl-click gives the remove/reveal choice.
    Are newer versions of Bridge better in this regard?
    Ben

    Ben,
    >(I'm dragging pictures to it)
    I had missed that earlier. The icons I was referring to in my previous post:
    >The size of the icons on that panel on my machine are
    very
    large
    are
    folder
    icons, not
    image file icons. I now see that you would like to have larger thumbnails of your image files on your Favorites panel.
    I have never, ever put anything other than folders there, and it never occurred to me that anyone else would. Obviously, I was wrong.
    Obviously this clarification doesn't help at all with your problem, but I wanted to apologize in case I misled you win my earlier post.

  • "open in new window"- from favorites panel - bridge

    Hi Bridge, I love your way of working
    However 2 things make my hair rise
    - I can't "open in new window" from a favorited location. only in the "content" panel... which is rather "weird"
    - I have to "reveal in finder" to be able to zip/rar files.
    Please fix this, I know i am not the only one who would love this.

    - I can't "open in new window" from a favorited location. only in the "content" panel... which is rather "weird"
    To be honest, I never thought about that option, I always use the shortcut cmd + N for a new window and point to a folder in either folder panel or favorites panel. There is always something to learn
    Having the same option in Favorites as in Folder panel would be very logical indeed!
    - I have to "reveal in finder" to be able to zip/rar files.
    I think you are bound to do so always because Bridge is in fact a browser and in itself not capable of editing files. The export panel did some tasks with resizing but has been discontinued in CC.
    Only if Adobe made an application to unzip or open other packages the possibility for using the tools menu and reach the start up script for such app would be the shortest road possible to my knowledge. But also AFAIK Adobe does not offer such application.
    And using MacOsX 10.8.4 my downloaded zip files are unzipping themselves automatically...
    Please fix this, I know i am not the only one who would love this.
    This won't work because this is a user to user forum, use the feature request option here:

  • Favorites Panel in Bridge CS5

    Hi,
    I have "My Pictures", plus a few sub folders showing in the "Favorites" panel. I also have another folder "Pictures" from another directory in the panel. As of 3 days ago, for these 2 folders the full path is showing: C:\My Documents\My Pictures for the first and C:\...\admin\Pictures for the other. Previously, it was only My Pictures and Picture.
    I had this happen on another computer after first install, but disappeared later.
    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on both PC's
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Curt,
    it is the same user - there is only one user set up (on both PC's). As mentioned before, this has only happened recently (3 days ago).

  • CS3 on Vista - Site Panel acting buggy

    In DW CS3 on my new Vista machine, the Site Panel is behaving
    weirdly. When
    I try to expand/collapse folders, it acts buggy; as I
    carefully click the -
    [minus sign] in front of one folder to close/collapse it, a
    completely
    separate directory will open/expand. I've tried it a bunch of
    times and this
    is definitely what it's doing. It's a pretty serious hassle
    for me.
    Anybody else seen this? Anything I can do about it?

  • Some adobe fireworks cs5 panel acting strange.... how to fix it

    Hello everyone, I had a little problem with adobe firework cs5, nothing big. Some of the Adobe Fireworks CS5 panel is acting strange: special character panel don’t show any character when I want to insert a special character when I finish create a text. Image editing panel don’t show any editing feature. Patch panel kept on blinking over and over again.
    I try to uninstall over and over again but this don’t seem to fix this issue.
    Here is a link to the video I post on youtube.com
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDQX6kphqto

    I'm having the same problem with the Paths, Image Editing and Color Palette panels.  I updated to the latest version of Flash Player 10.3.183.10.  Still doens't work.

  • Gnome-panel acting a little strange.

    perhaps this should be under the pacman boards, but i'm not exactly sure when the issue started happening, as i've been off and on this past week.
    gnome-panel, on the top of the screen has been acting strangely. the application option does nothing; it acts as if it is being pressed and then no menu pulls down. also, under the system option, i'm missing many of them, and see neither administration nor preferences. additionally, all of my icons are gone - i can add them back, but i'd rather know why they left.
    if i open a panel from cli as root, it seems to be my old panel complete with working pull downs as well as all the options. i also have three profiles on my computer, and two work perfectly.
    so yeah, that's about all i can really say for now. anyone have any ideas?

    Hey there,
    For kick's why not make a copy of current gnome settings and then let gnome re-create files.  My guess is gnome f'd up something for your user.

  • Spry Tabbed Panels acting up!

    I am using Dreamweaver CS6
    I am using Spry Tabbed Panels and would like to add two tabs.  From the properties page, I use Panels + to add the second tab.
    I name the tab, then I go to split view to see what I did.  I notice there is a content 2 that appears, but when I go back to see
    the properties page, under panels, I see the first tab showing the name it should be, the second tab says the following: <missing content panel>
    If I go to split view and look at the code, I see this:
    <div id="apDiv9">
                <div id="TabbedPanels2" class="TabbedPanels">
                  <ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup">
                    <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">PayStation</li>
                    <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">IP Settings</li>
    </ul>
                  <div class="TabbedPanelsContentGroup">
                    <div class="TabbedPanelsContent"> <br/>
                      <br/>
    PayStation is the first tab
    IP Settings is the second tab
    I don't understand why it is saying missing content panel???
    Thank you,
    Neil

    Don't use Absolute positioning in primary layouts.  It's completely unnecessary for this and will actually do more harm than good.
    Use this in your CSS:
    body {
    width: 1000px;  /**adjust page width as desired**/
    margin: 0 auto;
    font-size: 62.50%;
    font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
    table {
    border: 1px solid #000;
    width: 30%;
    float:left;
    margin-right:3%;
    font-size: 12px;
    table caption {font-size: 24px}
    ==============
    HTML:
    <table><caption>SALES</caption>
    <tr>
    <td>something here </td>
    <td>something here </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <table><caption>EQUIP. STATUS</caption>
    <tr>
    <td>something here </td>
    <td>something here </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <table><caption>TIME/DATE</caption>
    <tr>
    <td>something here </td>
    <td>something here </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

  • CS5 Panels acting bizarrely - unable rearrange the dock panels and cannot use the drop down menus

    The panels are not functioning properly in my new version of CS5.  Several things are wrong:
    I cannot click a panel tab and move it.  When I click on a panel, nothing happens.  I tried moving the swatch panel to the bottom of the dock and I got nothing.  I tried Command Click and I was able to move the swatch panel off the dock, but when i tried to re-dock it at the bottom of the panels, it would not dock in.
    Also, when I try click on the menus in the panels in the dock, nothing happens.  I have to click multiple times....and then the drop down menu just appears for a milisecond and then disappears....so I am not able to select anything.
    Oh...and I am working in 32 bit.
    Anyone have a clue what to do?

    Sounds like your problem is solved.
    If you look at Alien skin's website regarding CS5 (http://support.alienskin.com/Article_BB9D5.aspx), then you'll see that they state that their plug-ins are CS5 compatible, so maybe you have an old version, or maybe you want to let them know about this issue.

  • Design Panel is acting sketchy

    I installed stand-alone Dreamweaver CC (Mac OS x 10.9.3) and the Design Panel acting squirrely. the + keeps disappearing in the panel the interface comes and goes.

    Yes "CSS Designer Panel" It's happening on one of our workstations. The panel is their but the whole panel content or interface goes blank or if I start randomly clicking where something should be like the + appears only when I click. I tried uninstalling removing preferences settings folders etc. I did try creating a new User login and it works fine. I even completely erased the user from the Mac Pro, and created a new one. So it's not Dreamveaver.
    Thanks

  • How do I stop Favorites in Bridge from opening up in Photoshop?

    The second you click any file in the favorites panel, it opens up in photoshop. I tried disabling all the scripts in preferences with no luck. I need to stop files from opening so I can label them, move them into another folder, etc.
    Thanks in advance.

    I need to stop files from opening so I can label them, move them into another
    folder, etc.
    You can't because that what the favorites panel is all about. It is an alias
    of the folder or file you have put in it, sort of the icons that are in your
    Dock for MacOSX, click on it  and it opens or shows the application.
    But you have put files in the favorites panel and in fact it is designed to
    put folders in it. When you click on that folder it shows the content of
    that folder in the content panel (where you can rate, label, move etc) so
    you won't have to dig in to your folder panel for that :-).
    It is useful for having a few folders you want to visit regularly but if you
    have a lot in that panel so you have to look and even scroll for it the
    benefit of speed is almost undone...
    Since it is an alias of the original you therefore can not change it in
    anyway. You should use the content panel for that. To get rid of the files
    in the favorites panel Click and Hold a file in this panel and either drag
    it to the trash or use right mouse click and hold and choose remove from
    finder.

  • PerLayerMetadata Panel not working correctly in CS5

    When switching between multiple Photoshop documents, the PerLayerMetadata example panel shows the metadata of the document that is being switched away from, not the newly selected document.
    In CS5, the panel receives the select event, then the panel does its thing, then Photoshop updates  activeDocument to point to the newly selected file.
    In CS4, Photoshop activeDocument is pointing to the newly selected file before the panel acts on the event.

    Something similar happens with a panel I have created. I have found two ways to fix it.
    One is to add app.refresh() to the event handler. That works fine but slows down the panel. And I could not find a way to tell what was being selected so I could add the refresh to just the select document event.
    So instead I just added a button to the panel to manually update the panel info.

  • Add "recent files" folders to Favorites

    Hello, I remember being able to addin previous Bridge versions the 3 precious "recent files" folders to the Favorites Tab of Bridge. In CS5 I cannot drag them anymore to the tab, like I would with any other file or folder.
    Does anyone have any clue?
    Thank you, Pierre

    Don't think it is meant to work with the Recent Files flyout menu.
    If you want to add folders to the Favorites Panel navigate to it in Folders panel and right click on it.
