Toshiba 42WL67Z - no icture through hdmi and vga

Hi,
Following a power outage, my 42WL67Z (Regza LCD) no longer shows any picture thru hdmi and vga.
The computer gets a signal from the tv, it detects the screen when it's connected and offers the usual options (duplicate/extend display, screen resolution), but no picture is displayed.
The OSD works well.
Ideas?

>Ideas?
I think you should firstly connect another device (DVD player, bluray player, etc) to the TV and should choose the right input channel in the settings.
If the TV would still not receive any signal from such device, then this means that you have an hardware problem.

  • Mac Mini (Late 2014) 2 display HDMI and VGA

    Hi,
I got my new mac mini and i have 2 display. One is with HDMI, other is VGA.
I will use normal HDMI port and thunderbolt port with Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter from Apple to use them both, and i want to "Extend" my screen but the Apple guy on the store told me that "you only can duplicate the screen, can not extend it; both your HDMI and VGA monitors screen the same thing."
Is it correct? Because i think he is not sure about what he said it doesn't make sense to me.
    Regards.

I have no idea where what person is getting his information. I have used yur arrangement on my 2012 Mini which has one HDMI and one Thunderbolt port.
You sense is better than that person's. You you can have extended display with HDMI and VGA via mini displayport (plugs into Thunderbolt port) to VGA adopter

  • HDMI and VGA output adaptors?

i have sony series laptop with HDMI and VGA outputs are there any adabtors to use this display?

AppleTV is not a display, it plays media to an HDMI equipped TV.

  • You still produce displayport adapters with HDMI and VGA (together)?

You still produce displayport adapters with HDMI and VGA (together)?

We are not Apple, just end users like you. That said, I do not see any such items among these listings on the Apple store:

  • Can't switch between HDMI and VGA displays

I have a new H430, with hdmi and vga ports. My HP zr2240w monitor permits switching between AVG and HDMI displays, which I would like to do. But when I plug in both cables (HDMI and VGA) only VGA will work. If I  switch to HDMI or make it the default display,  the screen freezes at the desktop background: no mouse, no taskbar etc. Is is possible that the D430 video card will not support switching between displays (on  a single monitor)
    thanks,
    saintmaur

Dear Monika and Mylenium: I figured out part of the problem, but not the solution: The shape I had drawn -and coudn't  switch between fil and stroke on-is one I had already done a gradient mesh on, too. I had later abandoned the gradient mesh by using the option key to delete mesh lines, but that didn't take the shape all the way back to its original flat state. So it wasn't a plain drawn shape any more. So how do I release the gradient mesh  to get back to  a flat shape? I'm also having trouble keeping the shapes in RGB or CMYK mode-they keep defaulting back to greyscale. Could that also be a symptom of using gradient mesh? Note: I'm using gradient mesh for the very first time now; I've never used it before. It seems to leave a lot of unexpected baggage behind. I would send a screen shot, but if I start up Grab or Voila, all the AI pallets go away, and that's half the information.  So how do I control gradient mesh?

  • Need to split video signal to both HDMI and VGA

I am hosting an event and the venue has given me a really tough challenge. I need to send a video signal from my Macbook Pro 15"(the highest spec, latest model) to a projector that only accepts VGA and to an A/V system that only accepts HDMI(this A/V system broadcasts the signal to several flatscreen TVs throughout the venue). Here are my two ideas, can anyone tell me if this will fail and if so, are there any other solutions?
Idea 1: Use a mini-display to VGA adapter, split the VGA cable with one VGA cable going to the projector, and the other VGA cable going through a VGA to HDMI adapter to the A/V system
Idea 2: Use a mini-display to HDMI adapter, split the HDMI cable with one HDMI cable going to the A/V system and the other going through an HDMI to VGA adapter to the projector
Idea 3: Rent another projector that accepts HDMI, use a mini-display to HDMI adapter and split the HDMI cable, with one going to the projector and the other to the A/V system(this is the most expensive option and I want to avoid this if possible)
The event is tomorrow evening, and I need to buy these cables today if possible. Would love to hear any ideas, thanks!!!

Yes.  All video and audio outputs are always active.

  • How do I set MacBook to an external display when the plug and play doesn't recognize it?  I am trying to set my Samsung 530 LCD as a monitor but HDMI and VGA cords (and the adaptor for them) doesn't seem to work.

I have tried everything I can find on line but they all claim that the plug and play works, and they don't for me.  I tried the mini dvi to HDMI and a HDMI cord and that was not recognized no matter which unit I rebooted first.  I found someone who said that my Macbook might be too old for the HDMI technology so I returned the cords and went to the VGA cord and adaptor.
I tried this first with the HDMI setup:
    http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx= 167919&modelname=LN40C650L1F&modelcode=&session_id=NDhJrD0DQT0Z8KRsm62yhxJxqnyPy SKhlhpB8vQ6h9Q7R2BZJGzj!-1089109758!1761676444!7501!-1!434477884!1761676348!7501 !-1!1292098185857
Then I tried this with the VGA setup:
    http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx= 167901&modelname=LN40C650L1F&modelcode=&session_id=NDhJrD0DQT0Z8KRsm62yhxJxqnyPy SKhlhpB8vQ6h9Q7R2BZJGzj!-1089109758!1761676444!7501!-1!434477884!1761676348!7501 !-1!1292098185857
I contacted Samsung support and they said I needed to set the display settings to external display on the mac.  I went to the display settings and moved the icon to my status bar.  When I click on search for displays or whatever it says (I'm not at my Mac right now) it does nothing.
    What am I missing?

I am using MAC OSx 10.5.8 (9L31a) as my operation system.  The TV says "No signal.  Check connected device's power, cable connection and source selection."  Seems to me that that goes in hand with what the Samsung tech said about the Mac needing to be forces to use the external display.  But how do I do that?

  • Linux 3.2 sound plays through HDMI and laptop speakers simultaneously

As topic says, laptop speakers is not muted when activating sound through HDMI. Downgrading to 3.1 solves the problem. The laptop is an Asus UL30a.

I am using Pulse Audio (and KDE). It's all correctly setup, it has been working for several months and it works if I downgrade kernel to 3.1, so it's a regression with the new kernel. Also, if any mods are reading this, maybe thread should be moved since 3.2 is out of testing.
Edit: It's quite weird. If I go to KDE sound settings and change them around a couple of times, after a while it works like it should. There is no consistency in this and I have no idea how to troubleshoot
Edit2: Could this be related? I know it's for Nvidia cards, but in the first comment he mentions hda_intel.chttps://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42567 I should probably have mentioned in the first post that my laptop is all Intel:

  • I bought a new MBA and are having problems with HDMI and VGA port

    Hi,
I just bought a new mac book air, and at the apple stre they recommended me a mosh mini to vga cabel. I need to use my computer for projector either hdmi or regular vga adapte. The new mba only has thunderbolt, usb, memory/card slot, microphone and headphone ports.
Does anyboody has and idea how i will  or how do i connect the hdmi or vga adapaters to the computer. I have been searching on the cables the apple store has available but the end that goes into the computer is not compatible with the ones I mentioned above.
Please any help would be of great help, because I dont know what to do. I think this is a problem with the new MBA.
    thank you,

Thank you doubr.  So what I need is to buy the thunderbolt cable  and the minidisplayport to vga adapter or the griifin mini display port to hdmi tht toothpickproductions recommends, is that correct?
The one I have is a mini dvi to vga adapter and the end that goes into the computer is the same one that the minisdisplayport to vga adapter or the griffin one have, and is too big to go into the new mba. I dont know if I am confusing you more with what I am saying.
check the link below and you will see the ports the mba has
    http://www.apple.com/macbookair/specs.html
if you see the ports that mba has, the two minidosplayport that are recommending do not fit..
So, do you know that if I buy the thunderboldt cable will either of the two minidisplay ports fit or I  need to buy another adapter for the minidisplay ports??
thank you because I am kind of confused, I did not have this problem with the macbookpro I had before...

  • HDMI And VGA Only Works On Specific Display

    Desktop Model: HP Pavilion h8-1070t
    OS: Win7 64-bit
    Graph: GT 530
    1. Samsung 20'' Monitor
    2. Dynex 19'' TV
    3. Sharp 40'' TV
This is a weired problem. This desktop have one DVI and one HDMI and used to work fine on any monitor or TV.
Now the DVI port (via VGA adaptor. forgive me I don't have a DVI cable) only works on the Samsung Monitor and the HDMI port only works on the Dynex TV.
I tried multiple cables and even use another mac to test the whether the monitors and TVs are working fine. Turns out the all the cables and display devices are good.
I also tried multiple effort in things like reinstalling the driver, disable/enable the graphic card and stuffs like that.
Now still the HDMI only works with te Dynex TV, not the Samsung nor the Shart TV.
While the DVI (via VGA adaptor) only works on the Samsung. The DVI (via VGA adaptor) port can work on the Dynex too only before you get into windows.
I guess this is some kind of software issue cause both the ports can still work under some condition. But I am kind of confused.
Anyone have any idea or experience on this? Andy guess or solution?
    Thanks

Are the HDMI cables 2.0? The Sharp and Samsung may only accept HDMI 2.0. You said you tested them using a Mac, but Mac computers don't have HDMI ports, so their is no direct hdmi-to-hdmi.

  • How to connett via hdmi and VGA adapter for my Toshibe 3LCD data projector

My  HP Pavilion running windos 8.1  can not converse via HDMI A to VGA adapter to Toshibe TLP470Z data projector

Checking the manual for the Toshiba projector, found HERE, it states:
The projector cannot be connected to a computer that does not have
an analog RGB output terminal. For details, refer to the computer
    manual.
    • You may not be able to connect some computers to the projector.
The model number of your Pavilion PC would be most helpful.

    Recommend checking this Toshiba document.
+*Is it possible to use two external monitors on a Qosmio X500?*+
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB13033Y0000R01.htm
    Yes, it is possible.
Connect the VGA and the HDMI monitor to the related connectors. Now you can use the key combination FN + F5 to activate both monitors.
Choose "HDMI + CRT Extended Desktop". The internal display will turn of.
Note: All three displays (two external and the internal one) can not be activated simultaneously.

  • Display works on HDMI and VGA but not on Main Display

My G6 has been working fine for quite sometime.  Just the other day the screen went blank. I can see the backlight on but there is no desktop. I use this machine quite frequently to watch movies on my Vizio Tv through the HDMI port. I tried re-booting the machine. I could hear it booting up but still no display. I decided to plug it into the TV and it displayed at that point on both TV and built in display. I can do this also with the  VGA port as well. When I remove the cord from the ports I can no longer see the display. It will now only work when I have it plugged into the port.

    Hi,
That means the issue is caused by some trouble within the display assembly or connectors to the board.
Have you tried doing a hard reset?
Is the machine under warranty? I would call up HP and give it for repair,
If not, you could give it to a good local computer service shop to look into it.

  • Is there a way to play video through HDMI and have the audio via the headphone socket?

I would like to be able to play movies through the HDMI adapter to a projector, but to have the audio via the headphone socket to a separate audio system.  What I find is that as soon as I connect the projector via HDMI, the audio via the headphone sockeet is cut off.  Any ideas?

Yes, there is a very simple way to get audio out through the iPad headphone jack even while connected to HDMI to play movies on a projector or TV.  In fact, I just did it last night for a presentation.
With the HDMI adapter connected to the projector and your audio jack plugged into your iPad headphone jack, go ahead and start the movie. Then simply unplug the headphone jack and plug it back in.  The audio is now routed through the headphone jack again.
I found I only had to do this once per session.  That is, Iwas able to stop the movie, go to the beginning of my presentation, wait the 20 minutes for the meeting to begin, and when I got to the video clip the audio still played out through the headphone jack to the PA system.
I had built a presentation in a Web oriented training tool and it was running on Safari iOS7 with the latest update.  I have not tried it with Keynote yet.

  • HDMI and VGA out on same laptop?

I noticed the newer laptops all have HDMI output.  Do they ALSO have a VGA out?  My projector has only VGA, RCA or S-Video connections.  It is pre-HDMI but has many years of life remaining.  I cannot affrod to replace it just because someone thinks I should.  Since VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, I do not know of a way to convert the signal.

Some still have them but they are being phased out. You have to check the specs to know for sure. You can get a signal converter, but it's far more sensible for you to just buy a new laptop that has one so that you know it will just work.
