Touchsmart software is disabled in Canadian version - not true to advertisement
Despite the following advertisement : http://www.hp.com/canada/products/landing/touchsmart/final/touch3.html#/Apps
Many of the touchsmart applications are not available in Canada. Specifically, recipe box, weather, music store, link etc.
Apparently they were removed becasue they are not bilingual. My wife, who I bought the computer for, was very dissapointed not to have recipe box.

you can download the recipe update from the Touchsmart 600-1055 PC software and downloads, which is really amzing because its a canadian PC!!! - i think this is the ONLY PC that has it for some reason. I know the 600-1070a doesn't have it either and that has no multi language issues. Apparently the 600-1070a comes with "Touchsmart 3.0 Ultimate" (What ever that means) and to no surprize according to the 600-1055 omes with the same suite of software??? Someone is holding out on it if you ask me..

I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
On iPhone:
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
On Mac:
Open "Messages" application
Click "Messages menu > Preferences
Click "Accounts"
Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble. If it's green then you are using SMS. -
Problem with Updated Webcam Software for Windows 7 (I AM NOT USING THE BETA VERSION OF WINDOWS 7)
I have a dv5-1235dx. HP posted new software for Win 7 (64) built in camera software. The install seemed to go fine, but once you click to run the software, nothing happens, so it seems. About a minute or so later, the application opens. Why is it taking so long to open. I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times and the problem still exist. I have tried to go back to the old vista version of the software (running in cap mode), but now that software takes a long time to load. I have done a restore, with no affect. What happened? Note: I am using the full retail version, not a beta of Win 7 Ultimate. None of the other Updated HP software has this problem. HP won't help because Windows is not officially released yet.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I already did all of these things. As you can see from the below screenshot, the language is already set. Also, this screenshot was taken in Safe Mode, so NoScript is not enabled. About:accounts still says I need to enable cookies for some reason. So, this solution didn't work.... -
Installed QuickTime7 from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installation disc and still can't view videos on iPhoto. A box appeared saying "you have installed Mac OS X software older than your current version of Mac OS X and may not work properly." Now what?

I took a look at your notebook's Software and Drivers page just to make sure the applications hadn't been posted.
Have you tried installing the applications in Compatibility Mode? This installs the programs in such a way that the application thinks it in using whatever version of Windows you tell it. This is particularly helpful in cases such as yours in which the applications have not been ported to Windows 8. Take a look at this article from Microsoft. The section labeled "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows" is the section relevant to you.

I tried installing an add on app from the touchsmart community. The message I got back was that I don't have the latest version of the touchsmart software. Tne I ran HP Update and it says all my software is up to date. Does anyone know how I can update the Touchsmart software?
Looks like HP has pulled the previous TouchSmart updates that were there. We will have to wait until they release the next updates for TouchSmart. Will and Upgrade version disable the previous version?
I currently use ImageReady CS2 as part of my business and would like to retain its features, but I am considering an upgrade to Photoshop CS5. If I install a CS5 upgrade will my older software be disabled?
Thanks!Matter of fact, it's a very good idea to keep the old version on your system, assuming you're not hurting for disk space.
You can always go back and check things, save actions or other customizations you've made, and even help people on this forum who have questions about the old version you have.
Not only that, but removing an old version of Photoshop after a new version has been installed sometimes breaks linkages you don't want disconnected, for example Windows Open (double-click) behavior on image documents might not work.

I have had this problem for several months, now. This problem began when an update came for Java on the Firefox Plugin-check. I promptly installed the new Java update. But the Firefox update wouldn't register that I downloaded it, even after I refreshed the page. So, I got rid of the old Java, and downloaded the new Java again. When the page continued to display the same message it had before, I downloaded it a few more times. Finally, Firefox stopped saying that I was out of date. Then a few weeks later maybe, I check Firefox Plugin, and on the page it says that I am outdated in Java. So I downloaded Java again. But Java was still in the list, with red and said that it needed to be updated. I restarted the computer. Then, I restarted Mozilla Firefox with no add-ons. When Java still appeared that it needed to be updated, I gave up and didn't do a thing more about it.
Problem:
Today I decided to check my plugins. Java was not in update the list, and at the top a banner stated, "Missing JAVA? For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version." I clicked "upgrade to the latest version" and was led to the Java page. I clicked the download button. My cache stated that this was the (6) download of that same Java plugin (see background). I chose to re-download it anyways. But Firefox still insists that I have not downloaded it.
Question:
Do I need to go to the control panel of Java and change something? Do I need to fix some setting on Firefox? Should I disable Java altogether, delete all Java-related files on my computer, and start all over with Java? What should I do?Try using http://ninite.com/java/ninite.exe to install Java. Please note that even though you download it you have to double click it to get it to run and install.

How can i buy songs off itunes that you can't get on the Canadian version but you can in the u.k. version
I would really like to get these songs (not illegally like most people) because i really like them but they are only in the U.K. or Irish version of iTunes and I'm on the Canadian version

Is there a way of updating the device software to a more current version
I have a blackberry pearl, an 8110 pearl and an 8310 curve. want to put the max memory in them , can the device software be updated to higher versions than they currently have in order to support the larger memory cards?

Ok I’m completely lost here....
I’m running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (Build 2600), I updated iTunes to 11.0.2.25 and some other updates for windows last night on my laptop. I try connecting to download the iOS 6.1.2 update for my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 5 via iTunes. I am getting this message for both "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again." Everything was fine with connecting prior to running these updates because I downloaded the 6.1 update with no problems when it came out.
What I have done so far with which has made no difference:
Checked my internet connection
Changed my internet connection
Signed out of iTunes and then signed back in
Ran diagnostics via iTunes, comes back with: Network interfaces verified- Internet connection failed- Secure link to iTunes store verified
Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.
Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.
Connection attempt to firmware update server was successful.
Connection attempt to Gracenote server was successful.
Last successful iTunes Store access was 2013-02-20 20:40:48.
Disabled firewall, spy sweeper, virus scanner
start>run>cmd> typed "netsh winsock reset"
Rebooted
Checked the parental controls in iTunes
Start>control panel>internet options>connections tab> lan settings> selected the "automatically detect settings"
Deleted iTunes and reinstalled iTunes
When I would "ping gs.apple.com" it would come back with "request timed out" no matter what internet connection I was on, so I went into the hosts file start>my computer>(C:)>WINDOWS>system32>drivers>ect>HOSTS and added "# 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com". Now it will ping gs.apple.com just fine but still comes up with the "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet" message in iTunes when i try to download the update.
If anyone can come up with any ideas that I haven’t tried, please let me know. This is keeping me back from updating both of my phones along with if anything should ever happen to them; restores as well.im computer is connected i can go to the apple store through itunes but when i plug my phone in i keep getting that alert... i plugged my phone in to update it after the apple loaded the itunes icon and a usb showed up.
