Tracking Boxes

Hello SAP Experts,
My Client has a unique requirement, they want to track Box numbers. They receive the materials in boxes and then same boxes are kept in the store.
Moreover, client wants to issue the materials box wise and not on the basis of Base Unit of Measurement. They do not even have the correct number of pieces which supplier can send in one box and this may vary from time to time.
Is there any standard way of capturing this requirement.
We do not have Handling Unit Management (as no Packing or repacking or removing the packaging done in store) and no WM.
All the stock is inventory managed.

Hello,
Implementing Handling Unit Management would involve lot of extra transactions and material is not packed or repacked within the Store. They simply use transaction code MIGO to receive goods and after HUM implementation the process would start with inbound delivery. This is not what the want.
'Track box number' means if we have 100 pieces in one box and production people ask for 270 pieces, then they issue 3 boxes (300 pieces) and after consuming 270, they will return 30 pieces in the same box and then this box is issued back to the store.
I like the idea of using batch management, but can we put the box numbers in any field apart from characteristics. And if we use characteristics, then this would not show in any standard stock report.

That option is not in Firefox 3.6, you need to upgrade to Firefox 4 to get it.

Tracking Box number of a batch

Dear Experts,
I am using PP-PI module of SAP .
I need to work for following.
Currently Batch number is of 15 kl size, which consists of total 300 Boxes of 5 kgs each.
And 20 such boxes are kept on one pallet. There for I have 15 pallets having 20 boxes in contineous serial number.
I need to offer these 15 pallets for inspection to QA.
While inspection qa can rejects any Pallet / Pallets out of above 15 Pallets.
I need to keep a record in system that, which pallets having with box numberes are cleared.
It is sort of creating records of sub-batches.
I am told that SAP ME can take care of it, And is freely available on SDN.
Can any one throw some light on this.

Hello SCSharma,
SAP-ME can handle this but it's not freely available, youy can download the demo version from SAP Service market place and use it for some limited period but then with correct licencing you have to purchase SAP ME.
SAP ME can handle packing of 20 Boxes in one pallet. Also with some router script and custom data for packing container you can handle the OQC(out going quality check as well).

There is no motion tracking position selection box.

Hi. I'm using a Mac. 10.8.5. I opened the new AE 2014. I make a new composition 1280 by 720. I open a short clip. I play it through once. I go to animations and select "Track Motion" I select "Track Motion" in the "Tracker" box on the bottom right on the AE program. No motion tracking boxes appear on my clip. I cannot select a point for tracking. Please, how can I fix this?

Thanks. I was almost ready to uninstall it and re-download it when I noticed I might be using the older AE CC which had it's icon on my dash board instead of the newer AE 2014. So I opened the newer one from applications and everything works fine. Thanks you for your assistance.

In Firefox 5 with Web site tracking turned OFF I cannot log in to my router (KPN Experia box).

My home router is a KPN Experia box (I live in the Netherlands) which I administer via standard Web interface. First page of router site is UID/password as to be expected. Having upgraded recently to Firefox 5 (Windows XP & 2000 boxes) I find that if the "Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked" box is ticked then I cannot login. In fact all I get is a message back saying the password is wrong - which it isn't.

I don't suspect Malware yet, Id guess Disk corruption or failing Hard Drive with Files not found.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

What browser are you using?
The blog post contains significant information related to Premiere Elements 12 Motion Tracking. But, if you cannot access it for some reason, then we will need to troubleshoot via communications in the thread.
SG has asked if you are able to create Motion Tracking effect using one of the graphics included with the program. We will watch for your response to him on that question. Please include in your message to him whether you can obtain your file to track the object using Organizer Tab or Project Assets routes as well as Graphics Tab.

Various tutorials and online comments have pointed to places other than Graphics Tab where objects can be selected and used to track the moving object in the video when the Motion Tracking workspace is opened in the Expert or Quick workspace.
Organizer Tab, Expert or Quick workspace to access Elements Organizer 12. Cascade Windows and drag a video or photo from Elements Organizer into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Project Assets, Expert workspace. Drag text, video, or photos from opened Project Assets into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Graphics Tab, Expert or Quick workspace. Create a png file (graphic) or prtl file (text) and place it in Clip Arts in the Program Files of the program to have a permanent resource. Then from Graphics Tab, drag the newly created graphic or text object into yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.

Can't edit track # in song info

In my music library, I'm able to edit song info such as artist, song name, album, etc. But I can't figure out how to change the track # of a song. I have the column displayed for track #'s, but clicking inside the track # boxes doesn't allow me to edit the numbers. This is particularly frustrating for files that don't have track numbers at all, since they're listed out of order. How can I fix this? Thanks

You can't get to it from the main library screen.
Right-click on the track > Get Info > Info tab
You can change it there.

Probably Stupid question, but - how to remove motion tracking from a clip?

I've been playing around with the motion tracking feature, and think I may have come up with a way to make it work to highlight my now infamous "football"
However, I need to delete the motion tracking effect (s) that I've added to the clip so that I can start fresh. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to delete it!
This may be a very elemental question - and I apologize, but I cannot find the answer. I just cannot delete the original yellow tracking boxes -

To remove the Motion Tracking, just delete the graphic you attached to it. There's no need to remove the Tracking Object itself.
Although you can if you'd like. Just click to select the clip and then click on the Motion Tracking tool. Then right-click on the blue or yellow squares and select Delete.

Palletizing Material & Scanning Box Label Or Pallet Label Using HU OR SU

Hello dear WM and MM experts,
I'm looking at two scenarios here:
A) If a company is trying to track box-level information (unique box number and LB per box), and pallet-level information as well (unique pallet number and total LB of all boxes in a pallet):
Are Handling Units the solution? I assume they'd have to create a HU for each box and another HU for the pallet containing those boxes, correct? I know you cannot nest Storage Units, so under scenario A), SUs wouldn't work correct? Or is there a way to use SUs for this?
B) If a company is trying to track pallet-level information ONLY (unique pallet number and total LB of all boxes in a pallet):
Since no nesting is needed, I guess they could also use SU for this, correct? What's easiest to use under scenario B), HU or SU?
What we'd be doing with those pallets is shipping them to customers, shipping them to other plants, moving them from storage location to storage location, goods issue them to process orders, scrap them, and goods-receive them against process orders (We would be creating custom transactions to for RF devices to scan every box label or every pallet label with the "SU or HU" associated with it in order to do this).

The important information which is missing scenario 1 is tracking at what level upto shipment level or within warehouse, Hopeing that tracking is required up to shipment level then u r right Handling unit is the solution and as you correctly mentioned nesting of HU is one option which can solve the requirement as mentioned in the scenario
for scenario 2 the easiest option is to use SU management with conversion factor maintained in material master e.g.
1 PAL = 1 PAL
10 BOX = 1 PAL
When i look at the overall requirement mentioned in the third scenario then i believe you need HU management for Second scenario also as you want to track the information up to customer level / receiving site level or you can think to use the functionality of PICK HU for outbound delivery

How do I motion track just like the Plugin CameraTracker 1.0?

On the plugin CameraTracker, it automatically detects points that can be motion tracked, and it does it very well. What got me thinking, is that it also carries on tracking when a tracking point goes out of screen.
Here's an example:
I am using CameraTracker. As you see, this is the beginning of the clip, and what happens in this scene, is that the camera just fly towards the jungle.
If you see "Hehe", there's a green cross, and that is where the "Hehe" is tracked to. That red box is the null object.
Okay, so when the camera is flying towards the jungle, it passes that green point. And as it passes, it does not stuff the "Hehe". That "Hehe" stays in place as if it was in this Minecraft world.
It says in place, even though the cross has gone out of place.
BUT, if I use the Adobe After Effects built in motion tracking, and just want to select that point where the "Hehe" is, and I begin tracking, it goes pass then green cross, then that tracking box goes everywhere.
How do I do this so it's like CameraTracker? I want to do this using the default After Effects Motion Tracker.
If you cannot understand what I'm trying to explain, let me know what part you don't understand.

What's the difference between CS6 Camera Tracker, and CS6 Motion Tracker?
And for the Camera Tracker plugin, I can only seem to track ONE part. If you see the image, the words are like in one part of the scene. If i were to put a word in a tree, it would look stuffed up. The word wouldn't be tracked onto the tree. It would be tracked on the sand instead.

Undo (Command + Z) helps on one step but I get such a picture on a NEW project.
"Add Track" button you see above, creates new track but doesn't show it in grafical TAB.

MULTIPLE TRACK ADDING DELETING

Yes, iTunes does this. To select a continuous range of songs, click one end of the range, then Shift-Click the other end - the whole group should become selected. To select or deselect multiple discontiguous items, it is Command-Click on Mac, which +I think+ is Alt-Click on Windows.
In iTunes, click the Help menu and select "Keyboard Shortcuts" for a list of keyboard commands that you can use. I assume the Windows version of iTunes has this, although I can't verify it personally. My apologies if this assumption is incorrect.

Can I use J2ME to send/receive GPRS data?

Firstly, I hope I'm on the most suitable forum - if not, feel free to redirect me to the best place for this question.
I'm working on a vehicle tracking project and we're evaluating several devices that are designed to be placed inside vehicles - the devices have GPS capability for vehicle tracking and SMS or GPRS functionality to send or receive data.
What we'd like to be able to do is to have these tracking boxes relay vehicle positioning information back to a central server PC over GPRS. Also, we'd like the server to be able to send information back to the devices. The tracking boxes do not support Java, so I'm concentrating completely on the server side of things... so here's my question....
Can I send and receive data to and from these devices over GPRS using something like a GPRS WLAN card? If I can, what's the best way to do this?
I don't really know too much about J2ME so feel free to "dumb things down" if you need to.

off the top of my head:
How about sourcing for a SCADA / telemetry package that support GPRS I/O? So you have the scada run time on your server, and you can ask for a GPRS to ethernet card along with it.
It'd probly not be cheap but if it's a university project you could get a trial / edu version.
Try wonderware (www.wonderware.com) as they're pretty aggressive in sales.
I believe J2me is java technology for mobile devices, so J2me is for developing applications that have small memory footprint so that they can be deployed on mobile devices like hand phone and pdas. So, yes, I think you're in the wrong forum!

Itunes spinning wheel of death - when playing **CDs ONLY**

often when i have a cd playing and i am skipping thru & unchecking tracks, i get an eternal spinning wheel freeze and i have to force quit. it's not the temporary freeze like others on this forum have mentioned. this is a permanent crash - i have waited an hour before and gone back to itunes and it's still frozen and spinning. this doesnt happen if the cd plays with no mouse interaction. only when skipping and unchecking track boxes. i have noticed that it often happens when i click to a point a few seconds from the very end of a track where that one or the next one is unchecked. this doesnt happen if i click the skip button or use key command, but only if i click a point at the end of the currently playing song's time status bar at the very top, which is the way i need to do it for many reasons.
this has been happening since Tiger and with 10.5.2 & 10.5.3. it happened on the last several versions of itunes and quicktime, going back to itunes 7.5. it never happened with 7.4.2 and it never happened with any itunes version before 7.5. it also happened with 10.4.8 and itunes 7.5 before i upgraded to 10.4.11. sometimes it crashes up to 10x/day. it makes me downright violent as all the store searches of things i'm researching are then cleared since you cant bookmark store pages. it happened on my dual 2.5ghz PPC G5, and my new Mac Pro with a clean install on a new hard drive w/ new itunes library. i've also used 4 cd/dvd drives, both internal and external, by 4 different brands. also, this happens with brand new, store bought cds as well as cdrs. it's happened with 100-200 different ones i'm sure.
this leaves really only cause, and that's apple software - almost definitely itunes or quicktime. i've also noticed that the same spinning wheel behavior can happen when playing a damaged/scratched cd where the drive encounters read errors and cant play. instead of stopping or giving an error mssg, it just freezes and wont let you stop it. brilliant.
there was one tier 2 product specialist i spoke with that told me this was a known by the engineers & they havent fixed it.
if enough people post and respond, hopefully they'll address it. that seems to be the only hope.

Yeah, I'm getting the color wheel of death as well, but only when I open certain songs. The weird thing is that it is usually around the same numbered track on each album. (ie. it doesn't ever happen with tracks 1-3, but almost always does on certain tracks. I can also listen to later tracks as well. It's just these middle tracks on albums that the color wheel seems especially attracted to. Any answers yet?

Hi,
1. Inspect your audio hardware and drivers pane. Make sure you have enough audio tracks in the "max no of audio tracks" box.
2. Go to your Environment (F8)
Look at the layer entitled "Audio". What is in there? Only 4 audio objects? More? Does this make sense to you?
3.Make a new autoload. go to your audio layer (from step 2) and make new audio objects until you have enough for your needs. (hint=you can copy and paste existing audio objects). Make SURE you rename them to the appropirate channel they are representing. For each NEW audio object, go the the parameter pane (the info at the left side) and where it says "device" make sure it is the correct audio driver, and also the correct channel. IE if you create a copy of channel 1, you need to change the parameters to channel 2, rename it, etc...
It is a bit of a pain, so you can also use the "Setup Assistant". Consult your manual on how to invoke this in Logic Express.
