    I need to do a subtraction as part of a form. My calculation is:  (TOTAL SELLING PRICE + DEALER ADMINISTRATION FEE) - TRADE IN ALLOWANCE 1 to come up with a SUBTOTAL.
    When I put this in the Simplified field notation: area, it doesn't work. Even  TOTAL SELLING PRICE  - TRADE IN ALLOWANCE 1 doesn't work
    The only way that I have been able to do this is in the Simple Calculation area and enter a negative number in the Trade in Allowance field. My customer does not want a negative number in there, they want it to subtract.
    Any ideas?

    The simple calculation notation is quite limited. If your field names have spaces (or other special characters) in them you have to escape them, like so:
    TOTAL\ SELLING\ PRICE
    I would recommend using a custom calculation script, though. It's a bit more complex but much more powerful.

If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.

    You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Downloading the programs does not require a serial number.  You can find them here:  Download CS3 products  but you will need the serial number to activate the programs.  You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
    You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version.  Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6)

  • Call to Arms for the dreaded U052 Wrong Printhead Error

    This is a "call to arms" for all of you Canon customers who have had this problem and have had their printers disabled because of it.  Please respond with the model of your printer and if you were able to fix it, what you did to fix it.  We need to put pressure on Canon to respond this product defect.  It appears to be bad firmware that does not allow the user to override the problem and to continue to use the printer even in a degraded mode.  From my investigations the problem is NOT a printhead issue - no way one can be printing fine and then have this error alert without having changed the printhead or ink cartridges! Canon, PLEASE take this issue seriously and provide a solution across the affected models.  If nothing else there should be a trade-in allowance for those printers that have been affected by this product defect. I have had many Canon printers because they have superior functional specifications. I want to be able to continue using Canon products but only if I can have confidence that this product defect will not destroy my investment. If Canon is unresponsive our next step should be to aggressively publisize this product defect on social media and on major product vendor outlet sites as negatives reviews. Forum Users, please reply with your affected model number(s) and with details of any succdessful fix procedure.

    I'm in the same boat. I called most BB stores in North-east Ohio for 12 days looking for a Galaxy Note 4 and there were none. I even did have one Mobile Manager at the Parma store do a search on their systems and called two stores for me, but nothing.
    The one thing I was told was that 'Most Likely' the $200 promotion would be extended as they had zero stock for their customers.
    At my local store in Macedonia, I even had one associate take my name and number in case any stock came in. On Saturday, November 1st...I called at 10:15, 2:30 and 6:30 that evening and was told that there was no stock.
    Low and behold, on Sunday, November 2nd...at 11:30 in the morning...they had 12!!!!! I was told they came in the night before. When asked what time, of course it was never confirmed if it was before or after 6:30.
    SOO...the very first day that the promotion is over...stock shows up. What a complete scam. This was nothing more than a total Bait and Switch. Seems to me that BB has a bunch of S5 stock they were looking to dump, so they offer this 'Promotion' accept that they seem to forget you need stock to have a promotion. I was also told that even though I showed serious efforts to acquire this unit, there was nothing they can do about the trade in allowance. My phone is old and only gets me $30. There is no way I'm ever giving Best Buy $270 of my money on a phone, or any electrical appliance. I have bought my last 4 phones there, but I'm done with them.
    I'm actually wondering if any complaints have been filed with the BBB.
    Amazon here I come!!!

    The Note 4 is the phone to have right now, so I understand why you’d want to get your hands on it. If it weren’t for the fact that I upgraded my phone line only a few months ago, this particular device would be one I’d be interested in myself. I’m sure the $200.00 Trade In, and Trade Up promotion was a huge deciding factor for you as well, so I’m sorry to hear the promotion concluded prior to you being able to take advantage of it.
    Best Buy does make an effort to procure as much inventory as possible for new releases; however, sometimes the demand is higher than anticipated, especially if for specific colors or phone carriers. While we are fulfilling select pre-orders at this time based on the order we received them, some stores are still trying to secure phones for these customers. Because of this, the promotion should be extended for those who pre-ordered their phones prior to the release date.
    This means that not all stores have the availability to sell this particular phone to our walk-in customers. In regards to your particular area, it sounds like the surrounding stores were not in the position to have stock available on their shelves. I’m truly sorry this left you unable to participate in our trade in promotion, and as a result, has turned you away from us. Please know that while this promotion has concluded, we may provide other trade offers at various times, and it’s my hope that you will provide us a second chance sometime in the near future.

    You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Downloading the programs does not require a serial number.  You can find them here:  Download CS3 products  but you will need the serial number to activate the programs.  You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.

        To my understanding we should flag the required products for promotion in product data tab of marketing planner and we see a product in different colour which we r not flaged.
        Secondly for entering new product we should make changes in back end.

Is there any way to save these new contacts in a specified group instead of putting them into the contacts root, where they are mixed with all the old ones? By the way, can we create a new contacts group directly from the IPhone, without having to go through the sync process with the PC?

    You need to get friends with better information. They will not do trade-ins on iPods other than to give you 10% off the cost of the new one to recycle yours. You would be far better off to sell it privately and use the proceeds to buy a new one.

    You can only return it to the Apple Store if it was originally purchased there.  If you are within the timeframe for the Apple Store return policy, you can return/exchange with no questions asked.  In the US, the policy is within 30-days if your iPhone is contracted to a carrier or 14 days if your iPhone is unlocked.  With a carrier-locked iPhone plane to spend some anount of time dealing with the carrier to get your upgrade status reset.
    Think of an auto mechanic's service bay.  You tow in a a disabled car to have it fixed.  When the repair is done, the mechanic hands you the keys to a different model with a different engine and different option package.  Great deal right?  Unfortunately, real life does not work this way.
    If you want a different model, your solution is not in the service department, but on the sales floor.  The Apple store is no different.

    Was at a trade show back in November 2010 and saw someone using the iPad to take down customer information and send their contact info, not having an iPad at the time i didn't think to ask what the app was called.
    I'm looking for an app that will allow prospects to input their contact information and possible check a few boxes of products they would be interested in, once they hit submit it would then send me and email with their information and a thank you email for signing up with my contact information included in it sent to their email. Does anyone know of an app that would allow me to do this?

    I don't know of any existing Apps, but it sounds more like something a simple web-based HTML form would be more than suitable for. As long as the iPad has a net connection (which it would need to have to send an email) you just host the web-page on your companies web-site and view it in Safari on the iPad.
    You can even make it look like a proper app by hiding the Safari toolbars and saving it as a web-app.
    This is something someone with moderate web development skills could put together and customise it to look as you want and contain whatever checkboxes, form fields you want.

  • IPhone 6 Trade-In Promotion Code That Works

    Okay, loads of posts about not getting the promotional amount and so on. I am in the same boat EXCEPT I haven't shipped my old iPhone back yet. I have been on the phone with Verizon three times trying to figure out how to get the trade-in page on their site to get the credit correctly stated so the shipping materials can be sent.
    I received this promo code from a Verizon Customer Service rep this morning who actually called me back. It was accepted by the vzw site and prints a receipt with the appraisal amount as well as the difference between that value and $200 so it totals up to what was advertised in the promotion. It is working as of today, November 5th, and I don't know for how much longer it will continue to do so.

    IF you're planning on getting the trade-in promo amount of $200 they (Verizon-VZW) tells me I have until December 15th to send my old iPhone to them. Problem was NO promotional code. The old one didn't work after the promotion's end date. Of the posts I've read, most seem to be having trouble getting the full $200 pop for at least these common reasons/excuses from VZW (a contractor they have handling trade-ins). The list (likely not complete):
    1) Cracked screen
    2) Won't power on
    3) Case cracked
    4) Bad, missing or non-functional buttons
    5) Lock code still active (prevents access--yes, it does)
    6) Still connected to iCloud
    7)Find My iPhone still active
    Without documentation of the phone's condition the whole thing becomes a finger-pointing game. I've decided to do the following and recommend you do something similar if and before you send your old iPhone back:
    1) On the old phone, go to Settings/General
    2) In the right column of the General options at the very bottom is a Reset option
    3) Use this option and select Reset Phone And Erase All Data (wording may different but it's close enough)
    4) If you have an access code on the iPhone you'll have to enter it to do the process
    5) Two, "Are you sure?," style prompts must be pressed to verify you REALLY want to do this.
    6) After the second Are You Sure prompt is answered, the Apple shows up on the screen and following a complete reset and erase you're greeted with the Hello screen where you'd begin setup. At this point, the phone should no longer have an access code and should have been logged out of iCloud.
    7) Go through the setup screens and skip the ones that ask you to create a lock code, skip setting up an Apple ID and password, skip connecting to WiFi, DO SKIP turning on Find My iPhone. When you successfully reach what will now be an original Home screen, RUN THE RESET AND ERASE AGAIN. This verifies for you that there is no iCloud connection, and no access code.
    8) Take close up pics of the screen, the back, the sides, the buttons, the data/power port, everything. Even better, record a video and go from inspecting the iPhone's condition to and through a setup as described above to show there is no connection to iCloud or any access code. Then go begin the Reset and Erase process (still while recording video).
    9) Lots of users here write of the poor quality of packaging provided for shipping the trade-in, so if you still have the original box put the phone in that. Otherwise use some bubble wrap or another small sturdy box so the screen doesn't get broken or buttons stop working from poor handling by USPS or other shippers.
    Why pics and/or video? If you have to take the matter to arbitration or seek remedy from the BBB or other consumer resource there is nothing more convincing than good documentation.

        I can absolutely see the confusion regarding your trade in promotion, chimera09. But no worries! The iPhone trade in offer has a unique detail that will allow you to wait until you've received your iPhone 6. You can disregard the 30 days from submission that applies to the usual trade in program. The original portion you listed "return your old device to Verizon Wireless within 7 days after receiving your new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, but no later than 12/01/14" is correct.

  • IPhone 6 Trade-in Promotion -  Based On A True Story...

    On 9/30/14, my wife & I decided to take advantage of moving from AT&T to Verizon by joining our son-in-law’s More Everything plan. Our AT&T 2-year contract was more than satisfied. We’re both iPhone users & were looking forward to upgrading our iPhone 4 & 4S – plus, the trade-in offer of $200/each was attractive as well. So, we pulled the trigger, ordered our new iPhone 6’s 64Gb (no one had any in stock at that time), impatiently awaited delivery, which was estimated to be approximately 10/24/14. The cut-off for applying for the advertised trade-in had been extended to 10/15/14. We obviously couldn’t send in our old iPhones until we received, activated, & restored our new iPhone 6’s. At the recommendation of a Verizon rep at a local store, I went ahead & registered our old iPhone’s for the trade-in program on 10/12/14 in order to beat the 10/15/14 deadline & received confirmation along with a trade-in submission ID for each phone. By the way, I had gone to the Verizon Community Forum & read some of the trade-in nightmares that had & were currently occurring. Everything from reduced trade-in values, to the trade-in department supposedly receiving phones with cracked screens, Find My iPhone not being disabled, etc. This made me feel very hesitant about sending in our two pristine iPhones, which had been in Otterboxes from Day-1 & were in perfect working condition. The local store manager assured me that if there were any issues to let him know & that he would take care of it.
    The day came when we activated our new iPhone 6’s. They arrived a few days earlier than expected. We went to the store so we could transfer our existing numbers over. I took them home afterward, restored via iTunes, & all was working perfectly.
    In the meantime, the flimsy shipping materials had arrived for the trade-in program. There was no way I was going to put our iPhones in the thin unprotected paper mailing pouches without any protection. Regardless, I rolled the dice & sent the phones in after ensuring that all the steps had been followed to the letter. In addition, I put hard, but thin cardboard on the front & back of each phone, then a wrap of small bubble wrap, taped it securely, & into the shipping pouches they went. In addition, I made a video demonstrating the functionality of each phone as well as packing them up with the cardboard & bubble wrap. I even wrote the submission ID’s on a post-it note applied to the front of each phone. By the way, you have to use the shipping materials they send you; else, you won’t get anything for your phone & they won’t return it either. READ THE TERMS! All the risk is with you - the customer, though it shouldn’t be that way. I shipped them off on 11/3/14. They use USPS & there’s no tracking number. You just cross your fingers & hope your phone(s) makes it to the trade-in center.
    I nervously started checking trade-in statuses on-line daily until finally on 11/21/14 both iPhones showed a status of a Final Trade-in Value of $200 each. I asked my son-in-law to start checking his email for the gift cards. He’s an IT engineer, so he was well aware to check spam as well.
    I patiently waited until 8-weeks had passed since seeing that the phones had been approved for $200 each, though the phones had actually been sent in for about 11-weeks. So now it was time to talk with someone about the status of the gift cards. This is where the ‘fun’ began. The following is a log of the communications I had with trade-in rep’s & store rep’s. This was one of the most frustrating things I’ve had to deal with in a long time. A root canal is quicker & less painful! Next time, I think I’ll simply eBay the phones. I suspect they just want you to give up trying to get your gift cards. Alternatively, Verizon should’ve simply done the trade-in at the stores. Some customers were able to do this, but there was a very short deadline and with no iPhone 6’s in-stock, this was impossible for most customers since some of the estimated deliveries were all the way out to December 2014.
    BTW, none of the store or trade-in rep’s I spoke with was rude in any way. They all appeared to want to help resolve this issue. All in all, this was like having to talk repeatedly with the IRS or DMV. It was very agonizing.
    1/16/15 (8th week to the day since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    I stopped by the local Verizon store to see if they could help with the late gift card issue. Brandi assisted & called the trade-in number. One gift card was sent to my son-in-law’s email on 11/20 & the other was sent on 11/25. They said they would reissue them. My son-in-law never received them.
    1/25/15 (9th week since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    Per the trade-in rep I called this afternoon said that a Verizon rep can see the gift card numbers with PINs on the account at the store. I stopped by the Verizon store again to see if they could help with the late gift card issue. Caleb assisted & called the trade-in number. He found that gift card reissue was in process, which can take up to 10 business days. The 10th business day would be 2/2. Caleb gave me his card so that I can call him directly in case there's still a problem then. BTW, they can’t see the gift card numbers on the account. They were confused by the trade-in rep’s statement regarding this.
    2/5/15 (11th week since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    Tried to call Caleb, but his mailbox is full (shocker!). So, I decided to call the trade-in phone number again today at 5:30p. After waiting about 20 minutes, John answered. I retold the whole story to John. It sounded as if John really wanted to help. So he put me on hold for about two minutes. When he came back, he supposedly could not hear me. I was screaming at the phone! My new Verizon iPhone 6 was not muted, & I tried both speaker on & off with no luck. John ended up hanging up on me! So I decided to call back immediately. After another 15 to 20 minute wait, Kayla answered my call. After I retold the whole story to Kayla, she magically was able to give me both gift card numbers; however, the PIN numbers would be emailed to my son-in-law’s email address within 24 hours.
    2/8/15 (11th week since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    Well, no PIN numbers showed up on my son-in-law’s email yet, so I decided to call again this evening. I actually got a human, Jasmine, on the first try & didn't have to wait at all. She put a request into the warehouse, whatever that means, to resend the gift cards again. I told her I've been told that it could take anywhere from 30 days to 10 days to 24 hours, but she said this would take 5 to 7 business days. She went on to give me her employee number and said to call the number back after 7 business days if I had not received the gift cards and that I could reach her directly using her employee number.
    2/9/15: (11th week since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    My son-in-law actually received a $200 gift card for the iPhone 4S! I’m still waiting for the $200 gift card for the iPhone 4. Applied all $200 to account.
    2/18/15 (12th week since trade-in was approved for $200 each):
    Called the trade-in number and asked the rep to put me in contact with Jasmine whose employee number I had. He transferred me; however, it sounded like they connected me to a fax number or something. Frustrated, I called back immediately and spoke with Zach. I told him the whole story & asked about the gift card for the iPhone 4. He said he just put in the request to email the card out again and to allow anywhere from 5 to 7 business days for it to arrive.
    02/24/15: (13th week since trade-in was approved & 16th week since phones were shipped to the trade-in facility):
    Finally received the 2nd gift card! Validated the $200 gift card value on-line.

    Holy cow... That was a marathon as opposed to a sprint....  Since the iphone has such a good resale value, I agree - next time ebay.

    As I see the same complaint on AT&T forum, the trade in programs are flawed, universally.
