Transaction codes used to find the table(s), query/queries, and joins.

Hi.
I would like to learn how to find out which table(s) to use to create a query(ies), how tables are joined and how to create a query. Besides SQVI and SE16, what other transaction can I access? I would like to use SAP query tools that requires no programming.

Its not Read-only it is Display Autorization only.It will be comes from role what they assign to ur User ID.
coming to SQVI is the simple and best way to create SAP query without any Programming knowledge, but u have to know what tables u have to use to get desire o/p.

Use SE15 Transaction->dictionary fields ->table fields->goto table field columns

Hi,
As far as I understand what you are asking for I would suggest 4 data dictionaries that will help you to know the table name from the column names
1. USER_TAB_COLS
2. ALL_TAB_COLS
3. DBA_TAB_COLS
4. COLS
These can give you detail information about the columns and respective tables at user, schema, dba level. Further information on the table can be found by querying ALL_OBJECTS table giving table_name as Object_name, or you can join the data dictionaries too.
To know about various data dictionaries avalible in Oracle please query select * from cat;

To find the table of posting key, select any posting key at OB41, then press F1, then click on hammer icon the table used will be displayed. For Posting Key TBSL is the table used.

There are both technical and functional ways of knowing the Table Names:
1. You can ask your functional consultant to give you the basic or the main table name. From there you can use a where used list to get the list of all the tables that are connected to this table by the foreign key relationship.
2. You can get to know the name of the package from the package hierarchy. You can also use se84 to find the objects from the repository information browser.
3. You can use the ST05 transaction to run and SQL trace to find all the tables that where accessed during the TCODE execution. But here you need to be precise as it will show you all the names of all the database tables accessed.

If you want to build extractor on infoset you can create infoset in sq02
Extractors in sbiw are not build to extract data from particular tables but as part of data source for BC cubes

ps. ...and way I use to find what tables particular transaction use is:
go to this transaction screen -> system -> status -> copy program name -> go to se38 -> paste program name -> display source code -> and look for statement 'tables:' there will be list of tables this program use (this statement can be under INCLUDE XXXXXTOP)

Crystal Reports Cant Find the table

Hello ,
I have a problem when i try to preview a report Crystal Reports says that cant find the table , it happend when add a table that in his name has an underscore example "SALES_REP" , im working with CR 2008 and open access ODBC driver.

Try installing all CR patches and then test using OLE DB. If not an option we need to know more details of the database and driver/client?
I recall this may be an issue and not sure if it's been patched or not. Try searching here to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Error code: 2147778144 Cannot find the QE property.

I have been working to get Coldfusion 8 and Crystal Enterprise 10 to work together. The following were two approaches I knew of to try:
1) using Crystal "unmanaged URL reporting":

I got the CFREPORT tag to work but was disappointed to find that it only rendered the report in HTML. The reports we have been producing with our current configuration of CF4.5 & CR 8.5 can be saved as PDF's. So I abandoned the Coldfusion <cfreport> tag to see if I could get the Crystal "unmanaged URL reporting" to work. This included me trying to find any documentation anywhere to guide me along with going into Crystal Admin and 'experimenting' to see if there was anything I needed to do there to make the unmanaged URL reporting work.
Management is now telling me that producing the report in HTML is acceptable. I am now trying to set up a demo for management. When I went back into my CF code and uncommented the work I had done with the CFREPORT tag (which had been working at the time I commented it out), I receive the following error code.
CrystalReport Integration Exception.
Error code: 2147778144 Cannot find the QE property.
Error source: Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer
I have tried searching the SAP site to find more information on this error message to no avail.   Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Passing values to an internal table and use it with the table painter

I have seen this topic here before but the answers didn't help me. Maybe I,m doing something wrong.
The problem is that I defined the following structure on the |Types| tab of the |Global Definitions| section:
TYPES: BEGIN OF DETAILS,
       EBELP TYPE EKPO-EBELP,
       BSMNG TYPE EBAN-BSMNG,
       LFDAT TYPE RM06P-LFDAT,
END OF DETAILS.
Then defined the following definition on the |Global Data| section:
WA_DETAILS TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF DETAILS WITH HEADER LINE
The problem is that when I try to assign a value to one of the fields in the program code like this:
LOOP AT WA_EKPO.
     WA_DETAILS-EBELP = WA_EKPO-EBELP.
     WA_DETAILS-EMATN = WA_EKPO-EMATN.
     MODIFY WA_DETAILS.
ENDLOOP.
gives me the following error:
"WA_DETAILS" is not an internal table -the "OCCURS n" specification is missing.
Then if I add the "OCCURS 10" to the definition of the Global Data the error "OCCURS 10" is not expected.
How can I define, assign values and use as a parameter an internal table defined with types for use it with the table painter?

Normally it wont be one record, so u need to put <b>read statement with key</b> in LOOP and ENDLOOP.
