Transfer a file to a protected directory

Hi,
I'm trying to save a file in a directory that is protected by userid and password.
I'm using FM GUI_DOWNLOAD and receiving the exception GUI_REFUSE_TRANSFERFILE.
Have someone already done this?
Thanks a lot,
Flavio.

Hi Flavio,
it's me once again. Maybe that's a solution for you: I thought twice about your probelem - since GUI_DOWNLOAD is a frontend service - each user must have access to the restricted file path. Under windows you can try this workaround:  Each user must connect to the path via a certain drive letter (e.g. Y refers to
sfile\xyz) in the Windows Explorer (this requires user and password). Once combined, GUI_DOWNLOAD should also work.
Sorry, but I don't know the exact phrases for connecting to other drive paths, cause my WIN-XP is in german

  • Password protected directory

I run a community website with a members area protected by a .htpasswd file. It has always worked fine. If you cancel the password request, diverts to an 'error' page (401 divert) as specified within the .htaccess file in the protected directory.
If you then try to access the protected directory / members area again, Firefox lets you in and protected information is visible.
This doesnot happen in IE8, or Chrome. It worked fine in FF3, I never tested it in FF4 but it is definitely broken in FF5. Appears to be a bug?

    >I am setting up a password protected area of a website.
How do you set up another directory in Dreamweaver?
In the site panel, just select the root folder, right click
    and select New Folder.
    >Do I need to store all my 'password protected' files in a
completely new folder from my existing website folder?
Files you want to protect should go into a sub folder within
    your defined site.
    > Is the process the same as setting up a new website in
    Dreamweaver?
No, you don't need to setup a new site. Just create a
specific folder within the site for storing protected
    documents.

  • [Solved]I just want to transfer some files from one computer to ano...

    Setup:
Windows LAN (setup by my dad)
One Arch Linux Box, hardwired and connected through the network without problems.
One Ubuntu Linux Laptop, connected wirelessly.
I want to transfer my music, schoolwork, ect, onto my desktop from my laptop. Both machines are part of the same LAN. I want to transfer those files over the network (because I lack a usb drive larger than 1 GB). I know you can do this via rsync, ssh, sftp, samba, ect. But I happen to [censored] hate doing stuff with any network of any sort. I sort of understand networking, but I need some help, because all the millions of guides about doing this on the internet seem not to work, no matter what I try to do.
I can ping each machine through the other one, and I know both of their host names (I have both of them in front of me, actually.). The Ubuntu machine can see the entire network (through Nautilus, it appears), but cannot see my Arch Linux Box. I'd imagine I could see the entirety of the network on my Arch Computer if I knew how (going to ///:Network on PCmanFM gives me nothing). Both machines can connect to the internet without problems.
Can someone help me out? (I know, there are plenty of guides through Google and the Arch Wiki, I don't really understand them well enough)
I don't care if you use a specific method, any will do. I can provide any additional information to you if you just ask.

A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
Screensavers written for the PowerPC System Preference add-ons
All Unsanity Haxies Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5 Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro , SuperDuper , and Drive Genius  work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.  Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs.  The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode.  It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data.  This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

Copy the following items from your old Mac to the new Mac:
In your /Home/ folder: Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Calendars (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft.
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the  Discussions where specific applications store their data.
    5. Once you have transferred what you need restart the new Mac and test to make sure the contents are there for each of the applications.

  • Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory. Setup Aborted. Error 5: Access Is Denied.

    Hi Everyone,
Whenever I install some new software in my new laptop I get this error:-
Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory. Setup Aborted. Error 5: Access Is Denied.
I have tried synchronizing the clocks but it doesn't remove the problem.
These softwares work on another laptop that i have, which also runs windows 7.
Can someone please tell me the solution as this is extremely urgent.
    Thanks In Advance.
    -Michael

    In short:
    ============
My permissions were all fine, so if anyone has trouble resolving the issue after sorting permissions then make sure you try fully disabling your anti-virus / anti-spyware / firewall applications, because that was the cause for me.
    In detail:
    ============
    Problem:
    Failed to install this application
    - http://www.ssware.com/cryptoobfuscator/download.htm
    - on Windows 8.1 x64
    - Get error message "Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory. Setup Aborted. Error 5: Access Is Denied."
    First Candidate Solution
The issue turns out to NOT be security rights on the Temp folder
ESET Smart Security HIPS Advanced Memory Scanner is the cause
    http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2908&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1392804914417
Instead, I went and turned off all the ESS protections one by one and it turned out to be HIPS that is causing this false positive.
In fact, it is the Advanced Memory Scanner option under HIPS that is causing the error, while the application in question is legit (using Inno Setup and presumably trying to write to the user temp folder, not sure whether just logs or to execute from there)
Furthermore, Smart Security logs have no entries under HIPS even though I ticked "Log all blocked operations" under the HIPS "Advanced setup" - it was quite a journey to find out the cause :)
Thank you. I have the same OS and installed ESET Smart Security as well. And it is resolved now.
I just want to add, that by "Temporarily disable protection" and "Temporarily disable firewall", it doesn't work. You have to disable HIPS, as KristjanL said.

  • How to transfer the files from one server to another through pl/sql...?

I want to transfer all the files from source server with respective directory to designation server with respective directory (designation server - oracle reside server).
Is it possible to ftp from one server to another server(designation server - oracle reside server) through pl/sql. these two servers are independent & unix server.

No ... The package mentioned in
    http://www.oracle-base.com/dba/miscellaneous/ftp.pks
this works for across the server i.e. transfer the files from one server to other (it is basically ftp) ..
So it is NOT correct that this code transfer the file between two location & with in server..

  • How do I transfer my files from iTunes to WindowsXP Pro or visa versa?

I'd like to be able to figure out how to transfer music files out of iTunes to Windows Media, and from Windows media to itunes.
I've got a bunch of lecutures in both, but both don't do what I need them to do. In a perfectworld, I'd be able to get iTunes to sync to my mp3 player and give Windows Meda Player a swift kick into the ether where it belongs!!!
It appears there was a little box entitled "write protect" that was clicked over the last few years as I was ripping my lectures on to Windows Media Player that now won't let me move those files much of anywhere.
Could someone please help me figure this out?
    Thanks!

If the Copy protect music option was selected in your WMP Rip Music settings, your only alternative is probably going to be burning the files affected as Audio CD's, uncheck the Copy protect music option and then reimport the CD into iTunes - or import it directly into iTunes.
If the files currently in iTunes are .mp3's, you can just copy them to a location WMP can access them. If they're .m4a files, though, you will have to convert them to .mp3's first.

  • "Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer your files and settings." Why?

I saved my files and settings from a previous installation of windows 7 to an external hard drive using windows easy transfer. Now when I try to transfer those files and setting to my new installation I get the following message:
Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer your files and settings.
The message pops up only a few seconds after the transfer begins.
Why is this?! I need those files and windows has screwed me. Everything is basically the same as before I reinstalled. Same computer, same windows 7 installation just recovered to factory settings. Same system language as before. BTW I'm on a Toshiba L505 laptop
    running Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have tried all the usual suspects such as a clean boot and uninstalling my antivirus to rule out third party interference. I have more than enough space on both my computer and on the external hard drive. I have tried only transferring a user account a
few MBs large. I have reinstalled the OS twice just in case something went wrong there. I have clicked on the .MIG file directly. All lead to the same error message. The transfer file seems to be intact and not currupt
Is there another software other than WET that can use the same transfer file that WET created to restore my files? Please help me solve this if you can or at least point me in the right direction because right now I'm clueless. I can't emphasize how important
those files are to me. I've searched for solutions on several forums and it seems that this is a problem people have been having for years now and windows hasn't provided an answer yet.
An interesting note, When I reboot the laptop after trying to do the transfer, a new user account appears at startup alongside the one I normally use. This new user account has the same unique name of the user account I am trying to restore but that's where
the similarity ends. All the settings for this account are default settings and empty folders. What does this mean?

Hi Vincent, like I said I tried all of that already and it failed. Thanks a lot for trying to help though. Imperfect1, so sorry I took so long to reply. No that's not the case. I was trying to restore from x86 to x86.
Well, I finally gave up. I've scoured the internet for a solution. You'll probably find duplicates of this post all over. This has been a known software problem with Windows Easy Transfer for years and Microsoft has done nothing to fix it or warn users of
    the risks. Shameful!
Anyway, I managed to recover my files with this life saver of a program here>
    http://www.visser.com.au/blog/migrecover-for-microsofts-windows-easy-transfer/
MigRecover Utility for Microsoft's Windows Easy Transfer.
I can't express how grateful I am to the developer and the host for the download. You guys are the most awesomest people ever. Cheers.
Here's how you modify the syntax in commmand prompt if you used a password to protect the mig file in WET>
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/68910c1a-3c4b-47af-bb22-0e7ec6f2054f/
Just remember to change the source drive letter in "C:\SaveData.MIG" to the actual drive it's stored on if your MIG file is on an external drive like mine was; whether it's E:, F:, G: or whatever.
Good luck to anyone with the same issue who stumbles upon this post. I hope it helps you as it did me.

  • FTP Put fails when there is no pre-existing file present in the directory

    Hi All,
In our process we use the FTP adapter to write a file to a location. This operation fails when there is no preexisting file on the output directory.
So we placed a zero byte file on the directory and tested and the adapter was able to create the output file but when the files were deleted from the output directory the file transfer failed again.
    We got the below error
    Non Recoverable System Fault :
Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'Put' failed due to: Invalid Output Directory. Invalid Output Directory. The value specified for the output (Physical/Logical)Directory interaction parameter or jca binding property has an invalid value "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" Ensure that the following conditions are satisfied for the output directory : 1) It exists and is a directory (not a file). and 2) It is writable (file write permissions). and 3) If using a logical name, then ensure that the mapping from logical name<->physical directory is correctly specified in the deployment descriptor. ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.
Kindly help us resolve the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Balaji R

    Balaji,
This operation fails when there is no preexisting file on the output directory I'm not sure I understood this declaration.
Why do you need to have preexisting file on the output directory?
If it fails, with the mentioned error, it means that something was not defined properly.
    OR
    Another option is permissions.
Check that your local system user (I guess orabi) has a write permission on the target directory (on the FTP host).

  • Webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_AS_with_progress to transfer asci files

    Hi,
I am using webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_AS_with_progress to transfer the file from local
directory to the application servers. But I found that it transfers with binary mode.
How can I transfer with asci mode since what I upload are sql scripts.
    Thanks.
    Ivan

    Hello,
What is the problem with the binary mode?
You could loose information by transfering a binary file in ASCII mode, but you would loose nothing by transfering an ASCII file in binary mode.
Anyway, there is no option to set the mode transfert.

I have finished work in design and directory, now I want to push file the sample file into XI. The receiver adapter is an IDoc adapter. And also a very trivial question. How I can place my sample file into my source directory. Thanks

If your transport protocol is NFS then you need to put the file in the XI server. Because it becomes the Network File System. For that you can just type the ip address of the XI server in the "run" command or in the browser with "
" then in any of the Folders you can paste your file. But ensure that this is the path you give in your Sender File Adapter.
If your transport protocol is FTP then you need to see that ftp is running in your system. for that go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Components. In that check the IIS server and go to details and see that ftp is also checked. Now ftp is running in your system.
Now open your C:> drive >InetPub>ftproot . and create a folder here and paste your file. In the configuration of your File sender adapter just mention the name of the folder.
For your information, you can create a file with xml tags and namespace and message type manually (or) you can directly get it from the test tab of message mapping and generate source code.

  • Can time machine files be password protected?

My college-aged daughter has a Macbook Pro and a portable external hard drive (Mini-G) that she uses as a back up drive with Time Machine. I am concerned that if she lost her external drive or if it were stolen, the files on the drive would be accessible to anyone (I can get to them with my MBP). The computer itself is password protected but the back up drive is not. Does anyone know how I can password-protect the drive or do something else for security?
    Thanks

the mac way to do this is to enable filevault on her home directory. then the home directory will be kept in an encrypted disk image which nobody can open without a password. same will be true for the backups of that home directory on the TM drive. but filevault has some unpleasant limitations for TM. you can't use TM interface to restore files ina filevaulted home directory and it's only backed up when you log out.
the only other option is to use full disk encryption like PGP.
I think it works with Time machine but I'm really not sure on this.

  • How to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer

Hello to everybody. I am using Labview 6.1 and I would like to know how to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer (Not only from a specific computer. If I open the file with a specific computer, I have to conect the path of the remote machine, but if I don´t know which remote computer is going to run the aplication, how can I do it?)?

    Hi!
first you have to know progammatically the name of the remote pc connected to your server: this is a problem!
I did not find a straigth way, LV 6.1 doesn't allow much progammatic control on the remote panel connection feature, but I'm confident that in the next LV version this will be improved!
The point is that the Remote Panel Connection Manager (from the Tools menu) has all the informations about the connection: client name, server vi and whatever.
This application is embedded in the \PROJECT\REMOTEPANEL.LLB and consists of a set of password protected vis.
So here's the trick: use VIServer to grab data from the rpcm Get Server Data.vi when the Remote Panel Connection Manager is in run mode. By this you get all the informations (not only client name)o
f the remote panel connection. See my example.
By the way use client machine name to build the file dialog function input path.
If anybody has an alternative method it would be more than appreciated to share it.
    Good luck,
    Alberto Locatelli
