Transfer desktop items to new ipad

i just got a new ipad(ipadair) and I would like to transfer the content of my desktop full of with saved webpage links.

If what you want to do is transfer the contents of your original iPad to your new one, what you do is back up the old one (I'd use iTunes), then restore the new one from the back up.
Note: if you've already put a lot of stuff on the new one, this may not be your best option.
Best of luck.

Video transfer from computer to new ipad (ret disp) shows transfering process, but it's not in video or movie  . ...Where'd it go ? sync automatically downloaded some -  but was a bit prejudiced and selective with content mainly all edited by me in Moviemaker (windows 7, probably the reason)
I use technology since neanderthals roamed the planet . ....don't quite understand  all the nuances  . .. .So, my all things "i" (apple/mac) guru has arranged a meeting,    and I'm impatient.  I know some of my videos are in several formats, etc... and I don't quite understand the differences . ...to me, it's complicated, as Alec Baldwin would say.
Unfortunately, I'm "late" to the game metaphoricaly ( windows vs apple/mac ). I have a couple ipods and actually endorse the ijet remote device (Co. from San Diego). I have pro tools and other hi tech gear in the pro keyboards/sequencing arena where I've been writing computer music since 80's and it's evolution.

The Apple video app is very limited in what it will play. If you have multiple video formats and if they will play on an iPad, then you likely need a 3rd party vidoe app. One such is BUZZPlayer which is available in the iTunes App Store on a Mac or PC or from the App Store app on an iOS device.
You transfer the videos to 3rd party video apps using iOS File Sharing.

  • Can you take the SIM card from an IPad and transfer it to a NEW Ipad (not yet purchased) without any problems? Are there any complicated steps involved? Thanks.

Can you take the SIM card from an IPad and transfer it to a NEW Ipad (not yet purchased) without any problems? Are there any complicated steps involved? This is for my boss.
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Simple answer is YES.
The only caviat is for instance in the UK some iPads are locked to a specific network provider and therefore if the new iPad is locked then it will only work on the specific network it is locked to.

  • How do I transfer purchases from my new iPad to my 3rd generation iPod touch?

I bought a couple albums on my new iPad. I went to transfer the purchases onto my 3rd generation iPod touch but, even signed into my iTunes account, it seems to have no idea there were any purchases. It will, however, show obviously purchased items on my iPod but that's it. I have easily transferred items from my iPod touch to my iPad and the iTunes on my PC but cannot get it to go from my iPad to the iPod. I'm thinking I might need to update iTunes on my iPod but I'm not sure how to do that, if that's even the issue.

You can redownload iTunes purchases directly to an iDevice by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
With iTunes 10.3 or later and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.
Otherwise you will have to do it via iTunes:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    then sync with iTunes.

  • Music transfer from laptop to new iPad mini

Hi, how do I transfer my music from my iTunes library to my new iPad mini? I feel I have tried everything they user guide/online help suggests and it's still not working. I have synced it with my iTunes, tried to manage my music manually, used I cloud, synced it manually and over wifi? Also when I buy music on my iPad it doesn't store on there, it goes straight to my phone and laptop? It says my iPad music has "no music". I have had my iPad for over a week now and everything else on it works fine, getting very frustrated now about the music though, please help.

Have you quit the music app completely and rebooted the iPad? I get that now and the "No Music" message and I know damm well there is music on the iPad. If I quit the music app and reboot it will show up. Not saying it will work, but since nothing else's is working, try it.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the music app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

i have just purchased my new ipad and I want to transfer my iPod library of music and videos to the iPad,how do I do this easily, seems to be a basic neccessity

Is your iPod synced with an iTunes library on your Mac or PC?
If so, is your iPad also synced to the same Mac/PC?
iTunes allows you to share music and videos between both your iPod and your iPad.

  • Unable to transfer ibooks contents to new ipad air 2

    Greetings:
I am unable to transfer the iBooks contents from iPad 3rd generation running ios 7.1.1 to iPad Air 2 running ios 8.1.2.  Most are owner's manual downloaded from manufacture web-site, a few are insurance documents and all are in PDF's format.  I transfer the purchase and restore the old iPad backup from my Windows 8.1 PC to the new iPad; however, for some reason the iBooks contents do not transfer over.  I contact Apple support for this issue yesterday.  I have been cut off during the transfer to a supervisor and haven't received a call back since.  I want to avoid spending time to search for and download all the manuals, documents again if at all possible.  Any idea what the issue is and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

  • HT2589 I have a very old Itunes library list; ho?w do I transfer it onto my new IPAD mini

I have a very old Itunes playlist from my CDs; how do I transfer into my new Ipad mini and new Itunes account?

That's correct. Media sync is one way. The iPad is not a backup or data transfer device.
Purchased media can be re-downloaded from the iTunes store using the same ID originally used to purchase it.
Other media had to come from iTunes on your computer to begin with.

  • Transfer downloaded rentals to new ipad?

I purchased a new ipad but still have 2 rentals on my old one. How do I transfe these?

I know rentals can only be on one device at a time.  So I believe from iTunes, you can transfer the rentals from your old iPad to iTunes, then once that's done you can transfer the rental from iTunes to your new iPad.
    Enjoy your new iPad!

  • How do i transfer apps to a new ipad 2

I have an iPad 1, and it has apps from my Apple ID (MikesHeatandAir) and my wife's Apple ID. I want to transfer all MikesHeatandAir apps to my new iPad 2, and leave my wife's apps on the iPad 1. Would I need to back up the iPad 1 on my computer, and remove all the apps that are not Mikesheatandair, and then restore the backup to my new iPad 2? Or is their an easier way?

If you backup the ipad 1, you'll probably get a message stating that there are apps that are not part of the current itunes library.
I beleive it will delete the ones that are not part of the library you are signed in with.
You should try to backup first anyway.
At any rate, you can always re-download any content directly to your ipad or compouter by signing into the itunes and app stores, and then going to 'purchased'.

  • How do I transfer Penultimate notes to new iPad

I just purchased the new iPad and wanted to transfer my notes from the iPad 1 to the new iPad.  When setting up my new iPad I chose the "new" option rather than "restore" and now the syncing process does not appear to transfer my notes although the Penultimate app did transfer.  Any ideas as to how to get my notes (they are quite extensive) from my old iPad 1 to the new iPad (3)?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hi Ron
If you set up a Dropbox or Evernote you can backup and restore Al your notebooks.
    Good luck

  • Transfer desktop video files to iPad photo album without iTunes?

    Hello,
I'm looking for a very easy to transfer video files from a desktop PC to the iPad's photo album.
We can't use iTunes sync because the iPad is synced with a home computer (we're in an office environment). Need the video file in the photo album so that it can be imported into Keynote.
Currently we email the video file to ourselves, open the email on the iPad, and save the video into the Camera Roll. A bit cumbersome of a method and can't be used for large video files that our email server won't handle (20 MB +).
Any suggestions? If a special app, would prefer if it was free .
    Thank you!
