Transfer iphone contacts and calendar from pc to to new macbook pro

I have my iphone synced to a pc. Just bought a macbook pro and want to transfer my contacts and calendar to macbook. Will now exclusively use Macbook. I know from past experience that you cant sync iphone to 2 computers so what is the best way to transfer my contacts and calendar plus anything else that can be transferred over to my new macbook? I have already burned a DVD with all my purchases so I guess I can import all the apps from this backup.

Did you get a subscription to MobileMe?
If so, Sync your iPhone contacts & Calendar to MobileMe then Sync MobileMe to your new MBP.
If not, I don't know if Apple has an easy way to send your Pc stuff to your new MBP but I think that you can sync your PC contacts and calendar to a Google account then sync google to your new MBP.
There might be an easier way to do this.
I am sure you'll enjoy your new Mac.

I have owned my 3Gs phone for about a year. I have manually entered contact and calendar data into it.
I do not sync with outlook, gmail or other services. I have contacts on those services, but I do not want to merge everything together. Now I have a new iPad, and I need to get my contacts and calendar duplicated into my iPad.
I don't want to get a MobileMe account.
I have googled around and found some solutions, but I have not been able to get any to work. I have successfully installed a subset of my iPhone apps on the iPad using iTunes.
So, how do I do this?
I have tried the various settings on the INFO tab when my iPhone/iPad is connected to the computer (windows), but can't seem to find any settings that allow transfer between devices.
If I make a change on one device, how do I get it to the other device?
I wish I could see the contacts and appointments like I do the apps and media for selection and transfer.
There must be a way, how?

It is easy to move the phone stuff to the iPad. Just restore the iPad for the backup of the iPhone. However, I know of no way to keep them in sync between the iPhone and the iPad in the future since you do not want to use/purchase MobileMe or sync with another program like Outlook or Google stuff.

Transfer iTunes play count data from old laptop to new Macbook Pro

I have just purchased a macbook pro. Previously I had a Dell laptop running Windows 7. I had stored all my music on an external harddrive, I have successfully transferred my music to my new iTunes library. However, all the songs have no plays, is there any way I can transfer this data to my new macbook?
I also need to transfer iPad 4, iPod Classic and iPhone backups to the mac.

All my itunes songs, gigabytes of pics and all my other info is still on my old g4, it does have ethernet. I want to get all my stuff onto my new mac book pro which will be here in a week or so. obviously without using rw-cds if i can help it!!!!!!!

Here's how:
Get a Firewire cable. With both computers turned off connect the two with the Firewire cable. Boot the PB into Target Disk Mode. After the TDM screen appears on the PB boot the MBP normally. The PB's hard drive should appear on the MBP's Desktop. You can then transfer the needed files using Drag and Drop.
Here is a list of where your important data is stored ("~" stands for "Home"):
In your Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
In your ~/Library/ folder:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
~/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in ~/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need)
~/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
~/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (* This is a very important file which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences.)
~ /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
~ /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
If you want cookies:
~/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
~/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
For Entourage users:
Entourage is in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data
Also in ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

TS1347 I had to get a new hard drive on my laptop PC. Now I am unable to sync my contacts and calendar from my iphone to the outlook software on my PC. Although they are backed up on icloud, I really want the information on my computer.

I cannot figure out how to sync my contacts and calendar from my iphone with my windows PC. The message during the itunes sync process is that information is being backed up to both the cloud and my PC. However the Outlook software remains blank. What can I do??

Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
1. Create a Gmail Account.
2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything!

Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. After the photos are imported by your computer and placed in a designated folder or album on your computer, select this album or folder under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes along with any other photos on your computer that you want transferred to your iPad followed by a sync.

Is is possible to transfer my contacts and calendar information from my 3G SIM card onto a memory stick that I can then put on my HD? This information only lives on my phone right now and all the troubleshooting tips are not working. I've been told I have to re-enter all my contact information manually before anything can be done about my not syncing problem. I am trying to avoid the manual labor.

Unfortunately, I don't either. If you delete the MobileMe account from the iPhone, I believe you'll erase all of the contact info on the iPhone. If it's not in MobileMe either...well, that's not good!
One possibility for the contacts data (but not the calendar data). Contacts are backed up when you sync the iPhone (not to your Address Book via sync with MobileMe active, but in the iPhone backup made by iTunes before a sync). There's 3rd party app, MobileSyncBroswer, which can export the contact info from the iPhone's backup file on your hard drive. You'd need to buy a license to actually export the contact data, the free version lets you see part of the contact info so you can make sure it's there.

It's done in iTunes. Plug the phone in via the USB cable and select the iPhone on the sidebar of iTunes. Select the Info tab on the top and you have the sync options.

Thank you Meta, but I could not get the calendar and contact sync with Gmail to work. Apple support already suggested to use Google or a Windows PC. Maybe I should actually reset and try my old Windows PC. Seriously, ... can this be the solution after a Mac OS update for pure Apple users?

I have checked "sync contacts", when it does the sync it says it is syncing contacts, but the address book on the iPad remains empty. I tried checking the box under "advanced" that says to replace the contacts information on the iPad, sync again, same result—an empty address book on the iPad. Any suggestions?
