Transfer settings from CS6 to CC

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if there was an easy way to transfer all my effects, settings and plugins from CS6 to CC. I have an 27in iMac (just to give you an idea of what my operating system is).
I want to transfer all my settins from CS6 to CC but cant see an easy way to do it. I have loads of stuff that I need to transfer over including all the Red Giant plugins and don't want to spend the million hours thats going to take. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Check your Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/Media core directories for 3Rd party plug-ins. Copy them from CS6 to CC or create an alias.
Plug-in's done.
Check your Documents/Adobe/After Effects CS6 folder. Copy the contents to CC or create an alias. Pre-sets done.
If you can't see the root Library file in Finder try using the Go To Folder link from the Go menu in finder and enter /Library
That should do it for most things.

Well. With Dreamweaver CC, you could use the Sync settings feature to transfer workspaces from one CC machine to the other.
But with CS6 workspaces being transferred to CC there is a not so intuitive way to do it.
Backup/Rename the CC workspace folder [resent at C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\workspace to anything you like.
Copy the workspace folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\workspace to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\workspace
Now you should have your CS6 workspaces in CC.

Best way to transfer settings from CS5.5 to CS6

I am trying out CS 6 Creative Cloud and want to copy my settings from CS5.5. Is there any easier way to do this than re-creating them through the UI? It would take such a long time to re-enter my preferences, shortcut keys, search queries, window layouts, &c, manually that the trial period would be over before I finish!

Look at Replace Your Preferences for a list of things you should be able to back up and transfer easily. The only thing that might casue a problem that I can think of is custom shortcut sets, but I think CS5.5 and CS6 are similar enough that they won't casue abberant behavior (the same was not true going from CS4 into CS5).

Transfer workspace from CS6 to CC

Where is the workspace file? I want to transfer my workspace from CS to CC. Dreamweaver was no problem.

You will have to go to your user /library/preferences....but since osx 10.xx (I dont know which one exactly) the Library folder is hidden SO...
....In your FINDER menu under...
GO (hold down alt and you will see library apear among other things), click on it
go to preferences/ find your “previous CS product settings” folder/find workspaces/copy them to the workspaces folder of your CC product
I did this with illustrator an indesign and it works, i copied my workspaces from CS6, and i have done the same thing when going from CS5-CS6.
This time is a little different. “Illustrator CC setting” folder ......is called “Illustrator 17 settings” and for indesign is “version 9.0” folder.
Of all the CC products only Photoshop asked me if i wish to import my previous workspaces.
I wish those guys developing different apps would talk among themselves once in a while.

Is there an easy, automated process to transfer existing router configuration/settings from a (currently in use) WRT310N to a new AC1750 (EA6500) (brand new, not currently in use)?
I am hoping not to have to do it manually ...

I agree with FurryNutz. You need to manually configure the settings to the new router. The Linksys EA6500 has the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware and has a different user interface.

Why is it so chaotic to Sync Settings between apps of Adobe CC 2014? (and to transfer settings from CC to CC 2014)

Although, in general I'm a big fan of the Adobe Products and the CC Idea, I think that some parts of it were not ready for launch.
The part that mostly disturbs me is the settings syncing / Update. (Or "Seamless Update")
Concerning the updates:
I had own workspace in all the CC Adobe Apps, the only CC 2014 App that imported the previous settings in the new app at the first start was Photoshop.
Indesign made it through the Edit => Migrate previous local settings
Illustrator by copying the settings files manually
in Dreamweaver and Flash I had to recreate the workspace manually (which finally took less time then trying to sync settings.)
So long for the Seamless update that wasn't so seamless.
Concerning the settings syncing
Why could'nt adobe have the settings syncing working the same way in all it's CC 2014 applications? ( File Menu on PC / The Name of the App Menu on Mac => Sync Settings, upload or download settigns; done!)
Instead (on mac) :
In Photoshop: Photoshop => my account name => upload and download settings ( and no way to import settings from previous version )
In Illustrator: Illustrator => my account name => Sync Settings ( and I cannot import settings from the previous version, only from the same version )
in Indesign: Indesign => my account name => Sync Settings ( and the only CC 2014 App where the "Migrate previous local settings" function is working )
in Dreamweaver => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Flash => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Premiere Pro => my account name => Sync Settings with the possibility to clear settings and to use settings from a different account
Appart from that update and syncing chaos, the syncing between two computers simply doesn't seem to work ( at least for me).
I have a computer at work and a laptop at home and I'd like to have the same workspace in my apps at home as at work for occasional home working.
I created and configured my custom workspaces on the mac at work and then synced settings (respectively uploaded them in Photoshop). I had cleared all the saved settings from the Creative Cloud online account first.
I arrived at home, tried to sync settings but no workspace was implemented. (and before you ask, yes i had checked that the workspaces should be synced and that, on the laptop at home, the cloud settings should be applied.)
After few tryings I gave up and ended up recreating my setings on both machine. Frankly I don't know why the sync settings are for, since they just don't seem to work.
I really think you should rethink this feature: make it simpler, working THE SAME WAY in all Adobe apps, and, well, just working!
I'd just like to log into creative cloud an any computer, sync settings, and be able to use my custom created workspace.
I posted this in the Cloud Forum since, in my opinion, the settings syncing is a cloud matter and not a matter of each app individually.

Setting up new Adobe CC, and too hastily clicked "no" when asked about importing settings from last version. How can I retroactively do this?

Thanks for the tip, Arpit. Unfortunately, following your directions did not yield a promt to reset the preferences. It showed a prompt to delete the PhotoShop settings file. See image below. I still do not know how to import my previous settings/plugins/etc. Any help will be appreciated.

I think that may overstate the position a little. Certainly, in my own case I have both a HH4 and a HH5 and I use the HH5 from choice (by itself - not plugged in to the Openreach modem). How can I transfer over my settings from CS6 to CC

I am very new to my CC membership and Adobe generally. For two weeks since subscribing (maybe because I did a trial, though I'm not sure) I had a few of the CS6 apps downloaded on my Macbook and now have their analogous CC apps downloaded. I do not have many configurations set on my CS6 apps that I'd like to ensure I find on my CC apps, but I have some.
Is it possible to transfer the configurations? If not, I'll live.
Should I delete the CS6 apps? I'd prefer to have only one of each app downloaded.

If you have specific questions on how to transfer the settings for that application then yes. The answer is going to be different depending on which application you are using. For example the process in Photoshop is going to be different than using Dreamweaver.

Select your Action set. Choose Save Actions from the palette drop-down menu.
Load this saved file with Load Actions command in AICC.

Can I transfer settings from one indesgn project to another?

I am working on a (full color) newspaper - This is my first issue - taking it over from another design company which could be backing up future issues so I'd like to keep my settings exactly as theirs were (I have the last issue InDesign file) so that when they do have to layout the paper again there'll be no confusion. You can probably delete all but the front page, and perhaps one inside spread (depending on how the master pages are set up). I personally would set up a newspaper using a single page master for the front page, and a two page master for a the basic inside pages, possibly some additional masters for alternate column arrangements if there are any in use, and so forth. Masters should have the page headers and other "static" content (you might, for example, have masters for section pages like Metro, Editorial, Sports, and so on so you don't have to set all of that stuff up each time), but that doesn't really mean much. The way I work and the way others do things can vary widely. I worked for a newspaper once that used the same file week after week, dleting the stories and ads that weren't going to run, then adding the new content. In my opinion that's a workflow that always ends in disaster with the edition melting down at deadline, but it's pretty common.
One of the best things you could do for yourself is invest in some training. If you like online training, Lynda.com is probably the the best you'll find for ID. Sandee Cohen's Visual Quickstart book is about the best you'll find for a beginner written text. Real World InDesign by David Blatner et al is the best advanced book I've seen (and I 've looked at a lot of texts -- I taught ID at the college level for a bit).

We only got the iPad in the Uk today so apologise if these are obvious questions!
Is it possible to sync/transfer settings from my iPhone to iPad. I set up my new iPad and would like iPhone settings on the iPad to be synced e.g. preferences of an app etc. Is this possible or will the devices work independently. I am not a games fan but I do indulge in Angry Birds, the iPad version has lost all my settings! Is it possible for both devices to sync settings so that whatever platform I play on the settings will be updated?
I have not yet Kindle yet, are page marks etc synced between the devices?

Actually it does not work that way. Actual program settings might, in a few Apps, be retained upon backup. But no data are permitted to be stored in backup by 3rd party apps. Only Apple Apps will retain data. Everything else had to be started anew on the iPad.
That is, your notes, contacts, address book, data will get backed up and synced. But ToDo apps, for example, will not sync your data and you will need to start tons fresh on iPad. Neither will any of your games settings be retained, and you will be back to Level One on all of them.
