Transfer Wizard probl

Starting the wizard and following through adding music, the transfer stalls and loads nothing.
I have tried one song and it still will not transfer the song.
I tried dragging and ropping the music with no effect.
I keep the music (MP3) stored on an extenal USB dri've.
This is getting frustrating

I uninstalled and re installed the software. The device shows docked on the screen, but can and will shut its self off.
I have tried 2 explorers. dragging and dropping from one to the other.
I tried moving the music OFF the external dri've and on to the main dri've. No help.
I have tried for 3 days and I am a geek. Its got me stumped and its most likely going back to the store and exchange for a Sandisk unit.

  • I have used the easy transfer wizard to export/import data incl TB, do I now move all the Mbox folders between profiles to move the mail contents?

I installed TB on the win8.1 box and have run the easy transfer wizard to import my data. The support item showing how to mark up my TB data for inclusion in the easy transfer wizard was very useful for this, but it does not describe how to get TB to recognise the imported profile.
I can see two profiles in the folder: C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles
and one appears to contain my old data, the files in the other profile are very small by comparison.
My question is whether I should move (or copy) the mail folders (or all folders/files) from the imported profile to the new one, overwriting any files where relevant? Alternatively, is there a way to get TB to recognise and use the imported profile?
I did look at the profile manager but it does not recognise the imported profile.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Andrew

I decided to do the following:
    1. renamed the profile folder created after installation of Thunderbird, to a name like nnnnn.default.bak
    2. renamed the imported profile folder to the recently created profile nnnnn.default.
    3. Restarted TB.
All working fine. All my email for the three email addresses has been transferred from the old computer to the new.

  • Metadata Transfer Wizard in OWB

    Hi there,
In a technical white paper about Oracle Warehouse Builder dated Feb 2000, there's a section on Metadata Integration, a Metadata Transfer Wizard is shown to transfer OWB's metadata to Oracle Discoverer. However, I could not find this Wizard in OWB 2.0 (which was released on Jan 2000).
I would like to know if anyone of you have ever come across this function and where I can find it?
Thanks a lot for your help.
    Regards,
    Dilys

I've gone to oracle bug database
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_gui.startup
and enter your mentioned bug number, but I got not hit.
Are you sure you give me a correct bug number?
Anyway, is there any work around for this error?
    thx and regards,

  • Moving thunderbird withEasy Transfer wizard but no Application data in list

    Hi
Im using the easy transfer wizard as suggested. I have saved all my old computer files and settings to zip drive. Started the wizard on the new computer hit thr customise button undef my account nsme then the advanced button on he next screen but there is no file called Application DATA

re; Im using the easy transfer wizard as suggested.
Perhaps this was suggested by Windows to copy Windows files and folders, but I've not seen this advised to copy other program data that is stored in the hidden files and folders under 'Appdata' or 'Application Data' as this is where Thunderbird Profile data is located.
If you are looking for a way to backup Thunderbid Profile:
You can manually copy the Profile folder.
you would need to make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    more info on Profile fodler:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird
    In Thunderbird
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    click on 'show folder' button
This opens a new window showing you Profile files and folders.
Go up the directory to see the Profiles folder which contains your Profile name.
    or
    navigate to:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
Copy the 'Profiles' folder and the 'profiles.ini' file
    see image below.
Save to another location outside of Thunderbird preferably on an external device.
Manual and Auto Backup info at these links.

  • Transfer Wizard for CWM still available in 11gR2?

    Hi,
I need to import CWM metadata into OWB 11gR2. I came across the OWB User's Guide 11gR2 [1] which mentions the Transfer Wizard. I wonder if this feature is still available in OWB 11gR2. It says, from the Design menu, select Import > Bridges. In 11gR2, however, there is no Design menu, but there is the File menu where I can select Import, with no option Bridges, though.
I would be glad to hear if, and how, import of CWM metadata into OWB 11gR2 is still possible. Thank you very much.
    Yours,
    Christoph

  • Transfer Wizard & BES

Ok, I should have known better.....
Anyway, I just upgraded from a Tour to a Bold.  After it was activated on the BES I used the transfer wizard to transfer some of my applications to the new Bold.  Now I am no longer connected to the BES and it only wants to sync with the desktop.  When trying to set up email it asks if you want to use a work email and if you have a BES password then instead of giving you the screen to enter the email and BES password it has it syncing to the desktop.
    Any ideas?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You need to stop now...and go see your BES admins. The best thing to do is to have a totally clean BB that they activate on BES. After that, then you would start adding other things. But get BES working first.
    Good luck!

  • Administrator.000 appeared after XP to Win7 upgrade using Easy Transfer Wizard

I used the Windows Easy Transfer method to capture my XP documents and settings in a saved file before upgrading to Windows 7 (32bit).   After a clean install I then ran Windows Easy Transfer to restore my documents and settings from the file created earlier.  Everything worked fine but I did notice that in the C:\Users directory an extra Administrator.000 directory was created with the date and time matching the time when I ran Easy Transfer wizard. Is it safe to delete this extra one and leave the original Administrator directory?
    Thanks!

  • OWB Transfer Wizard - Does It Work?

    Hello,
I'm trying to find out how the functionality to import metadata in CWM (Common Warehouse Metamodel) format works, so I fire up the wizard from
    Design/Import/Bridges
Hit Next to get to the Source and Target Metadata Locations screen. Now, if I click on Help it tells me that
"The From field automatically identifies your metadata source as OMG CWM 1.0"
Well, not for me it doesn't! The From and To fields are empty and greyed out so that I can't change them. Has anyone had any joy in using this wizard?
    I'm using OWB Client 11.1.0.6.0
    Thanks

I think the integration is now done via MetaIntegration, so this needs to be purchased in order to do this. The database import may be a faster, cheaper option for you to o.
    Cheers
    David

  • HELP! Device Transfer Wizard messed up new phone's files!

Hello! I'm new to the forum. I just got a Bold 9700 today. I upgraded from a Curve 8900. I plugged my old BB into the Desktop Manager and hit the Device Switch Wizard and everything seemed to work just perfectly but when I looked through my new BB I noticed that a lot of the "new" features seem to be missing. For example there's supposed to be a folder called Instant Messaging (I don't have it). Also, there's a bunch of duplicate games and apps, etc that were present on both devices and if I try to delete the old app it deletes them both. I'm considering wiping the new phone and starting over. Any advice before I go through the trouble? Thank you in advance!

There's no problem wiping the device, but a Security Wipe likely won't remove those duplicate apps, etc.
Likewise, the SDW probably didn't remove your Instant Messaging folder.
I'd just recommend taking some time to clean up the duplicate icons, delete those apps and reload the ones you need.

  • Transfer XP from PC to Mac partition

I have an old PC with Windows XP Professional installed. The PC is outdated, and I'd like to run XP on my newer Mac via Boot Camp. Is it possible to transfer XP from the PC's hard drive to a Boot Camp partition? Or do I need to buy a new copy of XP somewhere?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
was the Windows XP you want to 'transfer' originally bundled with the old PC, meaning did it came with it ?
If yes, such manufacturer-bundled Windows version usually don't work on other computers than the one they were sold with.
Besides that, it would most likely be a violation of applicable laws.
    If not:
Back in my old PC-heydays I tried to use an existing XP installation after changing the motherboard, processor and RAM and ended in total disaster and complete new installation.
Thankfully I had a backup of my valuable files.
Windows is picky when it comes to new or changed hardware parts.
Nonetheless Microsoft supplies a tool for 'cloning and distributing' Windows called Sysprep.
    Have a look here http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B302577&x=13&y=11
    (haven't tried it myself).
Plus (or as alternative if a reinstall is indeed neccessary) there is the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/crawford_november12.mspx
Personally I see a change of hardware and/or WIndows version as a chance to start with a new and fresh Windows install and with it getting rid of no longer needed programs and Registry settings.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Migration, I put it on a USB drive. How do I install it on my new computer so my contacts and ALL messages come across?

I used the Easy Transfer application and put Thunderbird on a USB. I am now on the "new computer" and want to load Thunderbird that has all of the contacts and ALL of the past messages folders etc. How do I do this? I tried it once and there were no contacts and only messages from this week!

did you use the easy transfer wizard to reinstall the files?
Make sure it has put them in
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\local and C:\Users\[username]\AppData\remote.
    Make that
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\roaming
