Transfering costs from cost centre to a WBS

Dear Experts,
I have 250 PO's where the cost is booked to the cost centre. They were suppose to be loaded on to WBS elements.
How do i transfer these costs to the WBS?
Thanks
Burzes

Hi Burzes,
You can do this in  KB11N or can create a distribution cycle where in sender will be the cost center and receiver is WBS element

  • Project Systems: Profit and Cost Centres

    Hi
When maintaining a WBS element through transaction CJ02 or CJ20N for example; it is poossible to link a profit centre, ressponsible cost centre and requesting cost centre to each WBS element.
My question is: When cost gets incurred against a WBS element the profit centre gets updated with the cost as well. However, the cost centres (responsible and requesting) do not get updated. Is there any automatic effect on these cost centres (such as is the case with profit centres)?
I know that the requesting cost centre will be the cost centre allocated to AUC's assigned (if applicable) and that to get cost onto the cost centre a settlement rule must be maintained. What therefore is the use of having responsible and requesting cost centres assigned to a WBS apart from this?

    Hi
Cost center and WBS elements are both cost objects hence at a time real posting can happen to only one of them. Since WBS elements are getting debited , it will not simultaneously debit a cost center. However profit center it is not the case , hence the data flow to the profit center happens as an when a posting is done to WBS element and also when WBS is settled to cost center then also there will be a posting to profit center.

  • Transfering Cost from one WBS to Other while retaining CE

    Dear Gurus,
My client requires to transfer cost from 1WBS of a project to several WBS's. We maintain different CoCd's for all the projects. Client also wants Fi document to keep track of the transaction, hence he has reject option of Manual reposting.
My requirement is as under, (for eg.)
    WBSA CE(111) to WBS1 (CE111) amt 123
    WBSA CE(222) to WBS2 (CE222) amt 655
    WBSA CE(333) to WBS3 (CE333) amt 998
    WBSA CE(444) to WBS4 (CE444) amt 456
    WBSA CE(555) to WBS5 (CE555) amt 124
    WBSA CE(666) to WBS6 (CE666) amt 564
WBS's 1-6 may or may not be from same project.
but in reality when I test settlement rule for 1st transaction, I realized a behavior of settlement rule as belows,
    Cost 123 in WBSA CE(111)  went to WBS1 but proportionally splitted to various CE's i.e. CE111= 5.2,CE111= 27.6,CE111= 42,CE111= 19.2,CE111= 5.2,CE111= 23.8.
    Please assist.
    Manish

    Hi once more ...
i will try to elaborate based on your example...
please use transaction OKEU to create source structure.
Create (for example) 1 source structure (ex ZZ) with
    6 different assignments
(ex assignment 1 for cost element 111
assignment 2 for cost element 222
assignment 3 for cost element 333
assignment 4 for cost element 444
assignment 5 for cost element 555
assignment 6 for cost element 666)
Then you have to maintain the settlement rule of your sender wbs element WBSA and create 6 different segments as you may probably have done already.
Be careful when entering the settlement rule use F8 button to go to Settlement parameters and insert the source structure ZZ that you have created.
Then in each of the the assignments fill in the appropriate Source assignment field: in the example it will be
    WBS1 assignment 1 for cost element 111 ->Source Assignment 1
    WBS2 assignment 2 for cost element 222 ->Source Assignment 2
    WBS3 assignment 3 for cost element 333 ->Source Assignment 3
    WBS4 assignment 4 for cost element 444 ->Source Assignment 4
    WBS5 assignment 5 for cost element 555 ->Source Assignment 5
    WBS6 assignment 6 for cost element 666 ->Source Assignment 6...
This way the system will not take proportionally from each cost element the amount but will only look for the cost elements
    you have specified.
If you have more cost elements in your wbs WBSA (sender) that you don't want to settle then create an assignment 7 with the rest of the cost elements that will not be settled.
Run the settlement to see the results (CJ88,CJ8G)
Try it and let me know for your findings....

  • How to fetch the data from the table COEP for WBS element, cost center,,,,,?

    Hi,
I would like to retrive the data from the table COEP ,based on KOKRS,BELNR fields.
I need the output for Cost centre, cost element, wbs element, net work ,activity.
These values are storing OBJNR ,OBJNAR_1,OBJNR_2,OBJNR_N3.
But here always these field are not giving the correct values.
for example : for one record COST CENTRE vlaue is storing in OBJNR_1 field,
for one record COST CENTRE vlaue is storing in OBJNR_2 field,
for one record  COST CENTRE vlaue is storing in OBJNR_3 field.
Here SAP has used a generic approach for this.
How can I dispaly the values in this case ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Srinivas.N

    Hi,
I am asking, how can we say OBJNR_1 value alwyas belongs to cost center ?
    USPOB is not filling always.

  • Cost transfer from profit center to a WBS element

    Hi All,
Can cost be transferred from a profit center to a WBS element? If yes, how, and are there any prerequisites for the same?
    Thanks & regards,
    Nimish Goswamy

Costs are not directly posted to a Profit center instead they are posted to a cost center which is assigned to a profit center. You can posts the costs from a cost center to a WBS element thru Allocations ex: Assessment.

  • Migration of Cost Centre Hierarchy from 4.7 to ECC.0

    Hi Gurus
Our client is upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6
Now currently we have a standard hierarchy in Legacy system and multiple alternate hierarchies.
I would request your suggestions on the best way to be able to combine and modify the Hierarchies outside Legacy System before uploading into ECC.
I could find an IDOC COGRP01 which can create cost centre groups which requires data in a particular format.
    Best Regards
    Varun

    Hi Varun
Choice is yours! Whether you modify it in the Source system 4.7 version and then transfer it to ECC or you move it as it is to ECC and then modify it in ECC
you will have to choose between the two

  • Get Cost Centre from runtime - WS20000050 Step 372

I am using Workflow WS20000050 for approval of travel expenses
When i attach the standard rule to step 372 it works fine
I have created a Custom rule and want to attach to Step 372
I need Cost Centre data for processing and finding out the agent
How can i get the Cost Centre data (entered through PR05 TCode)
I see that the standard function module uses these macros
      swc_get_element ac_container 'ORG_OBJECT' org_object.
      swc_get_element ac_container 'OTYPE' org_type.
      swc_get_element ac_container 'OBJID' org_id.
I am not able to identify the parameter for Cost Centre. It should be a table because one claim can have more than one cost centres assigned to it. it is stored in table PTRV_SCOS

    Hi Sriram,
If you know that the table PTRV_SCOS stores the value of cost center, then you can write a custom  BO method to fetch the value of the cost center from this table.
Make a call to this BO method in your workflow and fetch the value in the workflow.

  • Cost Centres inherited from the Org.

    Hello Experts,
    Please help.
I Have to pull a report asap that lists all org units with their cost centres and cost distributions and I have to indicate where the cost centre / cost distribution was inherited from another org.  I also have to show which org the cost centre / cost distribution was inherited from.
What is the best way to pull this data?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    regards,
    Jeanette

S_AHR_61016528 with evaluaton path OMACC_D works to show the account assignment and the inheritance however it doesn't show the cost distribution.  Is there another evaluation path I can use to get the cost distribution and it's inheritance?
    Thanks again.

  • Funds Management-Derive Fund centre from Cost Centre

    Dear Guru
In funds management -Derive Fund centre from Cost Centre" i used to have 8000 entries till yesterday. So there were 8000 combinations of fund center with cost center.
Somehow I can only see 80 today. Somebody might have deleted those.
Is there any change log availble to see who deleted and when?
    Archit

    Hi,
I see... Deletion is not logged there, I'm afraid; only modifications on existing entries. Unless, you have specifically defined log status for the relevant FM table, which I doubt. I believe, no one would delete 8000 records just for laugh. Most probable, the entries were deleted with a transport request.
One more reason to follow my advice and maintain the link in a different manner.
    Regards,
    Eli

  • How to change validity from.. to dates in cost centre(production) ?

    Dear All,

We were unable to maintain activity price for work centre.
Message is telling us to maintain activity price for current fiscal year.
How to change validity from date in production cost centre(KS02) ?
    Appreciate valuable inputs.
    Jeyakanthan

    Dear ,
1.Go to Transaction Code KS02 - change cost center and in the next screen go to Menu bar > Edit > Analysis Period. This will pop up another window - in this you can change the analyis period and save it.
2.Or Use the tcode OKEON from the hierrachy choose the cost center in the basic data tab u will see one button named Validity period.Change the validity there.
3.You can do it using 'KSH2' transaction.Open the hirarchy and select your cost center. now select the business area and new hirarchy node where you want to move it. and click on 'INSERT AT LOWER LEVEL' to move the cost center from one business area to another.
    Try and check

  • Validation to post against cost centre OR WBS (but one is required)

I am trying to set up GL accounts so that although cost centre or WBS element is optional, I need to ensure that ONE of these is selected before the item is posted.
I think this means I need to use a validation on the line item, but please could you let me know if you have come across this in the past, and how I should set up the validation.
    Many thanks
    Anna

The fact that Controlling is activated, When you create a cost element for that G/L account, it will be, by default mandatory to enter a cost object (like cost centre/WBS element etc) before it can be posted. There is no separate validation required.

  • Revenue & expense posting- use cost centre OR wbs

    Hi All,
Could you please suggest me if we are making posting for expense then whether to use cost centre or WBS.
and if we are making posting for revenue then which one to use.
I want to know where we should use cost centre & where we should use WBS.
    Regards
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak
Cost Centers are org units in Controlling area which are used to posts periodic costs which are later absorped onto the products using product costing. In the end, you wish to have minimal or zero Over/Under absorption at the cost center level for periods under consideration.
WBS are task oriented objects and are to be created for specific purpose only (logn term projects, Asset Accounting etc)
For costs, you can use both cost center and WBS, depending on the nature of the expenditure. eg: Electricity, labour would normally be posted to cost center whereas expenses for specific purpose (training, Asset etc) would be charged off against WBS initially and later settled to respective receivers as maintained in the settlement rule.
For Revenue, Cost centers receive only statistical postings, whereas real posting can be to IO, WBS, PSG etc.
In case of WBS, real posting can be made to WBS.
Hope above information is helpful. Let me know if you need any further inputs

    Hi
GL account - You can define in SPRO- Cross application settings--Account assignment ->Define GL account for product category and account assignment category.
or you can use BADI BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT.
In Organisation Strucute - You can Map the backend cost center via KNT  cost center attribute .
