i Downloaded the backup assistant on my old phone, tried to,download contacts on new phone and it doesn't happen. What can I do? LG Cosmos3

We want to make sure you get your contacts back, JahnA. Have you logged into your online account at http://www.vzw.com/myverizon to check if the contacts are saved in the "My Device" section? What phone model did you previously have?

Erasing the device is supposed to erase the passcode which is supposed to allow you to activate the device again. Let it go for the 10 minutes and then see if you can activate it again. You can also try erasing the device again and see what happens.
Go to icloud.com/#find.
If prompted, sign in with your iCloud Apple ID.
Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
Select the device you want to erase.
Click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup.
This is what Apple recommends, so you have to trust that it is going to work .....

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.
If this does not help, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device without using the latest backup, in case that backup contains corrupt data.
Is the camera working after that, restore from the backup. Is the camera still not working, this might be a hardware failure and you'll have to get the phone serviced by Apple:

This morning apple had a msg that asked if I wanted to upgrade to the new ios 6.1 (?). I said yes. Now I can't use my phone. I've tried hitting the power and other buttons. I get a white apple on the screen. can't reset phone - doesn't work. what can I do besides take phone into Apple? This *****! I realize (now from reading internet) that my phone/system may be uncompatible. Help!

I have a 3GS (a true classic design!) and have upgraded it to 6.1 today. The process did not go without a glitch - it took a few attempts to get the app's to sync but after detecting the ones causing an issue and deleting them it works - so far! I have had issues about 50% of the numerous times a new OS is uploaded to this phone and always take the new OS with trepidation. But at least you know there is a 3GS with 6.1 working OK.
I suggest you do a fresh restart to the phone several times - without it being connected to the computer - to see if it gets its act together and starts. I think it will. Hold down the top 'power' button and front round control button until it shuts down - goes blank and dead. Then press the top power button to re-activate - reboot - it.
If that does not work then plug into your itunes computer, navigate in iTunes to see your iPhone and hopefully you will be able to sync it or at least 'restore iPhone' from the 'summary' tab.
If you can not get onto the iphone perhaps you will still be able to sync if in iTunes by going - 'file' - 'devices' - 'sync iphone' or failing that try transfer purchases' and ultimately 'restore from back-up'.
I had technical problems with my old 3GS (suffered a failed wireless antenna) so I took it to an Apple Store and they issued me with a service-replacement/reconditioned phone for a very modest charge. So if worst come to the worst get a new phone that way!

Some programs might be restricting your ability to view pdf files using the Reader plug-in due to security concerns. First thing to consider, are you turning holding it vertically or horizontally when you turn? It has to be more or less horizontal for it to work.
If it still doesn't work, setup an appointment with an Apple Genius to test it some more, and more than likely get a new one.

I Sold iPod On eBay - Buyer Says It Doesn't Work - What Can I Do?

I got an iPod that didn't work. It was swapped out for me sometime last year. Rather than use it, I decided to sell it on eBay.
The buyer received the item, left positive feedback, and 3 days later, told me that it didn't work. He filed a PayPal claim and now I have to refund his money?!?!?!?!
What can I do? The iPod is over a year old. Aside from filing a claim with the USPS (which may not go through), can Apple fix it? Will it cost me money? How much? Is it guaranteed to be fixed?

The iPod I am getting back will have a different serial number than the serial number on the box being sent back as well.
Which iPod are we referring to here?
If I open it in front of the USPS worker/deliveryman, and there aren't matching serial numbers, would Apple ever find out if I made a claim with PayPal that a different iPod was returned to me?
To be fair, whilst I'm wiling to give help here on the Forums, I'm not going to assist in any actions that defraud PayPal (or anyone else for that matter).
And talking about such actions here on Apple's officially sanctioned iPod forums (where your posts are preserved for posterity) is probably not a good idea.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
Hope you manage to get the moisture out, you can pull teh device apart and shave off the rust and corrosion you see buy purchasing a mobile repair kit, however rust spreads in a matter of months..

Has the home button worked in the past, or is this been something that hasn't worked for some time? The only way to reset the device is with the sleep/wake (power) and home buttons together. Without it, you would have to wait until the battery dies and then plug it in to try and reset it. The Home button is used for several user troubleshooting steps. Without it, you cannot perform a reset, put the device into recovery mode, or place it in DFU mode. You need to get the home button repaired.

HTC DNA Backup Assistant won't work since 1/1/13

HELP! No matter what we've done - hard reset and GOT A BRAND NEW HTC DNA - still backup assistant won't work since 1/1/13. This is NOT anything to do with Facebook.
This all started with that same 1/1/13 error that so many of you got. The tech also had me clear the contact storage. That worked for the error. But since then I don't have contacts. I have talked to at least 7 Verizon techs, one HTC tech, then spent 2.5 hours in the Verizon store today. Ended up with a brand new HTC DNA (mine was only one week old) for free.. and we immediately tried to sync to Backup ASsistant and it still won't work on the new phone. I have 521 contacts stored online in My Verizon Backup Assistant and they will not, no matter what we try, sync to my phone. So frustrated. Anyone else experiencing this?

Now I finally see ALL my contacts in "people" when I select my phone icon and people. But now I'm trying to test it out by composing a new text message and all these people aren't showing up there. Does it just take a lot of time!?!? Since I did import 524 contacts from BUA to Google?... will it just take time for these contacts to be available for me to text!?!? HELP.. (again).

Kin ONEm: uploading contacts from backup assistant?

back when the Kin was a full social networking phone with access to a "cloud", you could add all your contacts by exporting them into a spreadsheet from the backup assistant, and then use your microsoft live account to get them into the phone (or somethign to that effect). but now that the kin is just a feature phone, it appears you can't any more.
does anyone know how to upload contacts? I think now we have to do them all manually, which stinks. but I'd like to know if there is a way before I do all that work!
