Transferring DRM free music to Motorola V3xx

I just got a new cell phone. I wanted to transfer music from iTunes on my Mac to this cell phone. how do you do it?
I'm asking this question because I read somewhere that the Mac won't recognize this cell phone if connected by the data cord. Is this true? no sense in going out to buy a $30 wire that isn't going to work.
Can I transfer using Bluetooth?

I've been able to successfully transfer digital images to my Motorola V3 via bluetooth, but I've never managed to get a music file over. This may be because my phone is now quite old, over a year.

  • How do I find/upgrade to DRM free Music from EMI

I just read that EMI and Apple have agree to sell DRM free music at a higher quality for $1.29. iTune purchased songs from EMI can also be upgraded to DRM free tracks at $0.30 each. The problem is where do I find them? I can't seem to find search EMI Records on iTune. Is there an easy and fast way to upgrade all my tracks from EMI?

According to the original announcement the new downloads are scheduled for release sometime this month. If everything goes according to plan I would expect they should be available from the iTunes Stores in the next few weeks: Apple Unveils Higher Quality DRM-Free Music on the iTunes Store

  • Can I publish itunes drm free music videos on an iweb gallery?

Im able to publish my iweb site with normal drm free music but It wont seem to publish a page I made up of drm free itunes bought music videos? I put them on a blank page on iweb but with no joy in publishing the page of the site.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Rob

DRM free only means you can listen to the music on more than seven computers, iPhones or iPods.
Since you don't hold the rights to share the music (you are not the author or the owner) you can't put them on the Internet in any fashion.

  • Duplicates on iPad following DRM-free music upgrade.

After upgrading a few hundred songs to the new higher quality DRM-Free music on iTunes I have discovered a few dozen duplicates on my iPad. There are no duplicates on the desktop only the iPad. Unable to determine which file is the 128 kbps and which is the 256 kbps, so unable to delete.
    1) There is a problem in the upgrade process that leaves the old version on the iPad for only "Some" of the songs.
    2) I could use a way to determine which song is the old version. Its easy to do on the desktop, but not so easy on the iPad.
    Thanks....... Gary

Sync with the desktop & transfer purchases.
Remove all your purchases from the iPad.
Add back the ones you want..

  • DRM Free Music and ability to play on another Mac I own

I purchased an upgrade to DRM-free music about a month ago; all purchases were upgraded.
With this as a given, is there some reason why my iPod - packed with music - cannot be loaded onto a second Mac? When I connect the iPod to my second Mac I'm essentially told that the iPod belongs to another user. Yet I am the only individual on both of these systems as well as the owner of the iPod.
Or am I misunderstanding the purpose, in whole or in part, as it relates to the DRM-Free upgrades I paid for?
    Thank you,
    Mark.

Connect the iPod to your second computer and choose to transfer purchases from it, either from the dialog box which appears when you connect it or the File menu. This requires that the computer be authorized even if all the music is DRM free.

  • Curious about DRM vs. DRM free music

OK, I admit it. I'm confused. A big deal is being made of this DRM free music and "upgrading" your current song library from DRM to DRM free. I have lots (less than 100) of albums and songs (again less than 100)that I have bought from the iTunes store in the past, including some current stuff that my granddaughter downloaded into her iPod. I have been to the iTunes store since the "big" announcement and have not been offered any "upgrades". Why not? Is it because I'm in Canada?
Not that I care much, I have had no issues at all in putting together compilation CD's that I play in the car and on my home stereo system.
So why would I want DRM free anyway? Just curious.

So why would I want DRM free anyway?
Play on any device, not just an Apple device or from an audio CD. The iTunes Plus tracks are also of higher quality, 256kbps bit rate vs. 128kbps. If neither of those factors are of interest to you, you probably don't want or need to upgrade.
As to why you aren't getting offered any upgrades, the iTunes Store is continuing to struggle with such issues where it's just a database error. But not all tracks are available as iTunes Plus yet. In either case, the problem may clear itself up in a week or two as the problems get fixed and more tracks arrive from the record companies.

  • Unable to sync DRM free music to AppleTV

I recently purchase an album from itunes and recently converted it to the DRM free option. When the album synced with my apple tv, the album and the album art should up correctly along with the number of tracks in the album, but no music, the album summary reports "0 songs". Has anyone seen this before and is there a workaround?
I have already wiped the apple tv by de-linking it with my mac and reauthorizing it and my itunes account. Still no luck. Can the sync processs be forced? Is this a media problem? This is the only album i have noticed this with. Incidentally, I was playing the album in itunes when it updated the DRM free content.
Any help would be appreciated. It is very interesting...

It's a tagging issue. the artist and album artist fields need to be identical or the album artist field needs to be empty. Putting differing info into each of these fields results in the problem you are describing.

  • What's Up with DRM Free Music??

Read that music is now DRM free. What does that mean? All songs from iTunes store are DRM free? What does it mean to be DRM free? Just curious.

That means there are no restrictions in the music files themselves that limit what can be done with it. Click here for more information.

  • DRM-less music upgrade problems

After iTunes began going DRM free on their music I started upgrading some of my songs for the $.29 price. I had already gone thru the whole burn to CD/copy to WMP steps for most of my songs but wanted to get the DRM free music a little more cleanly and also get the higher bitrates.
Anyway, I have about 10 songs left to convert to DRM free but iTunes is not notifying me of their availability - even though I recently read where the entire iTunes library is available DRM free.
What I noticed is that the 10 specific song/album combinations are no longer listed as they were when we bought them originally. For example, my wife bought the Carrie Underwood "Jesus Take the Wheel" song and the album was (I'm at work now so the exact title may not be correct) "Jesus Take the Wheel (Single)". However, when I search for that album it is no longer available....even though the song clearly is.
Has anyone else come across this and found a way to upgrade their songs?
    Thanks for any assistance.

Upgrading will be done for the same version of the song.
If you originally purchased the song off the album and the album is no longer available, you cannot upgrade with the single version or a version from a different album.
Sometimes, previous purchases were not linked correctly and did not show up as elgible for upgrade.
You should contact the iTunes store here -> http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/

  • How do I upgrade music to DRM free so I can play on my Sonos?

How do I upgrade itune music to DRM free so I can play on my Sonos?

I use dropbox.com to edit my website from multiple computers. It's free for up to 2GB of storage.
Install dropbox on all the computers you will edit from and then keep your domain file in dropbox. Any file that is edited on any computer is updated on all the other computers.
By default your domain file is located in your user/library/application support/iWeb folder. Just copy it to the dropbox and double click on the file in dropbox to begin editing that file. Keep your file backed up frequently as all your edited work is in this one file. If you lose this file you will have to start from scratch unless you keep backups.
Only one person can edit the file at a time. If you edit the file from two locations at the same time your file will become corrupted.
I have never had any problems using dropbox to edit from multiple computers.
    Sincerely, David

  • Why can't I tunes match provide drm free versions for purchased music?

I bought Itunes match thinking that I was going to upgrade my entire library of purchased music from what was promised in their ads.   most of my music does not seem to be available in drm free versions.  is that normal?

    Hi,
Most music can be upgraded with only a very small number not qualifying because the version of track is no longer available. Upgrading is not automatic. You need to delete the original and download upgraded version.

  • How to repurchase music to get DRM-free versions

I have a few tracks which I bought from iTunes in the time when they were protected by DRM. I now want to change these to DRM-free versions, but can't find a way to do this. As there are only 7 tracks, iTunes match is not sensible as it costs more than the cost of the tracks themselves. I would be happy enough to re-purchase them, but can't find a way to do this.
I tried deleting one track from my iTunes library, but in the iTunes store it still showed in my purchases and not in the "not on my computer" list, so I was unable to buy it again. (I restored it later from my iPod.)
Is there any way to remove a track both from the library and purchase history, so that it can be purchased again?

    NSH,
There used to be a program to upgrade individual tracks for 30 cents (USA) each, but it was discontinued in 2012.
So if you don't prefer Match, here are your options:
Burn to audio CD and rip back as MP3.
If you really want to re-buy, buy them from Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music and add them to your iTunes library.

  • How do I upgrade my music so it is all DRM free

I need to upgrade my purchased music so that it is all DRM free.  I was told that there is a method to upgrade my library but I cannot find it.

The only way to upgrade to DRM free is to pay a .30cent upgrade fee on each song. Go to itunes music store and on the right side under "Quick Links" look at the bottom of that list. "iTunes Plus". You can upgrade them there.

  • Free music is not totally free, for me

I signed up for the 12 Days of Christmas, and downloaded a few songs. But when I discovered that iTunes Store actually sent payment reciepts (card charges) for 0.00 for each and every title, I stopped downloading. Because then this music wasn't totally free, for me.
My local Norwegian bank charges me NOK 2.50 (about 0.50 USD) each and every time I use my Visa paying card, even for these 0.00-charges. So 12 "free" downloads would cost me about 6 USD.
Why do iTunes Store charge my account for downloading this "free" music? And why do you have to charge every title seperatly?
    Message was edited by: Sardine's

The receipt confirms your transaction with the iTunes store. I'd be very surprised if Apple tried to collect NOK 0.00 from your credit card. If on the other hand you've had a statment with a NOK 2.50 charge for NOT transfering funds then I would both complain to your Credit Card company and report the issue to iTunes Feedback.

  • How do I know if the album is DRM free?

How do I know if the album is DRM free?
    I want to buy http://itunes.apple.com/au/album/house-of-beni/id464729917.

I have two Apple accounts. One that I created to purchase my iTunes music from (before Mobile Me) and my Mobile Me account.
I no longer wish to maintain two accounts.
This is not only limited to my iTunes Music, but Find My Mac, My iPhone, My iPad...
It is getting to be difficult to manage all this and I want it all consolidated into one (my .me) account.
So my question is Can I move my library to another account. Not should I, but CAN I?
If it is truly DRM free, I don't see any reason why not.
    Sidenote...
I do not wish to move the music to another machine. I will still use it on the same Mac it's already on now.
And if I can't delete an account, that's ok. I will simply stop using it.
