Transferring PDF to android and reading on android

How do I download a PDF file from my computer and then open it on my android with the adobe reader? I can move the file to the phone, but don't see how to open it on the phone.

This application will open the PDF files.

I couldn't find the device you mentioned among my test devices but here's the steps I followed on another device:
1. Downloaded the file from the link you mentioned to my PC. Attached it to a mail and sent it to myself.
2. Opened the mail on my Android device.
3. When asked to open the file in the viewer, chose 'Adobe Reader' (11.5.0.1 build 98311)
4. Searched for the word 'the' in the pdf(by selecting the search icon which looks like a magnifying glass in the top toolbar).
5. I get a screen like the one attached.
6. If i tap on a particular snippet(the small portions of the text on different pages), I am taken to that particular page.
7. To see all the results again, I can tap on the search icon again and the same results will show up.
Please let me know if you don't observe the same behavior.

Why can I not highlight single words in a pdf document with Adobe Reader for Android?

I, like other users I have seen, am unable to highlight single words or phrases in pdf files. I am using a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.

I have a requirement in which I need to provide a pdf form (interactive like validations ) to the end user so that the end user can submit the details by attaching it in project website. Then we need to capture the details and store them in to DB.
can any one suggest a tool or api

PDF file creation and reading

I want to read pdf file and generate two pdf files from it after processing in J2SE5. Please suggest ways to do it and if possible with an example.

Haven't bought iPad yet - is it a good PDF book storer and reader?

My only use for the iPad would be to store all of my technical manuals, like for Final Cut Express, which the user manual is offered in PDF format online for download. I assume I could get to the user manual with the wi-fi version of the iPad. Question: can I download the pdf manuals I want to store to the iPad? Is the iPad a suitable reader for book study?
My goal would be to get rid of my printed manuals (tons of them) and use the iPad to store my library of user manuals and instruction manuals that are available in PDF format.
Can you recommend it for this use? Pros and Cons?

That's weird. I use the iBooks app to read PDFs and the links work fine. For instance the with the Logic Pro User manual (1342 pages), links work fine from the index page, and also from other pages in the manual.

* Maybe it was an old version of the Books app? (not very likely I guess?

My Iphone 4s is also not connecting to my itunes ever since i updated my IOS. apple! your seriously make me want a android. and i hate android.

I hate updating my iphone now. its like playing Russian roulette. its a 50/50% chance it will work fine or something like this will happen. im sure im not the only one having this problem. if not, please someone through me a bone. i have tried every possible thing and honestly im tired of looking at my phone and the computer screen. someone HELP PLEASE.

You might find that this is a limitation in either the software or the file. Some Arabic files are written left-to-right internally, and look right but are backwards in each line.

What's,with,the,commas?
If you have a tablet that runs full Windows 8 - not Windows 8 RT, which is limited.
And if you install the full Adobe Reader for Windows, not the special Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8.
Then you will have the same features as a desktop.
Unless they can't be accessed in touch mode, since it isn't a touch app.

I have an editable pdf made in Acrobat. Viewing it Adobe Reader Mobile (Android) and I can fill it fine. I want to be able to fill the form but it keeps autosaving. I just want to email the form and then it goes back to an unfilled form. How do i do that?

Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide an option to disable auto-save.
In the Reader home screen (where your files are displayed), you can make a copy of the original PDF document, open the copy (instead of opening the original document), make changes to the copy. Once you email the copy, you can delete it.
For more information, please see Help > How To... > Copy, edit, delete, manage.
Although it is not the most convenient way to accomplish the task, that's the only feasible workaround that is available in Adobe Reader for Android right now.

Pencast PDFs and Android Adobe Reader X

I create pencast PDFs using a (Livescribe) Smartpen and want to play them on my Android phone. (I am trying to avoid using the pencast playback app for mobile devices as it is quite restrictive)
I'm told that all that is needed to replay pencast PDFs is Adobe Reader X.
I have installed Adobe Reader for Android (Reader X v10.2.1) and can open the PDFs and see them, but not 'replay' them - that is not play them back with video and audio as would normally be the case in these types of PDFs. The same PDFs replay ok on Windows etc.
Any suggestions?.

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:

Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

I need to rotate a pdf in my adobe reader on my android device.

I am new to using this app on my android and am unable to rotate mydocuments. Also, how do I save highlights and notes? Help me fully utilize this to the fullest!

The free Reader can do very little more than reading (i.e. opening) PDF files. It certainly cannot rotate documents permanently. If you were in a computer, I would suggest using Acrobat, but I do not know if there is a version for Android devices.

Adobe Reader for Android to play video embedded in a PDF document.

I am a medical teacher. A large part of my teaching is technical and skills based and I have a lot of teaching video material. I distribute my material to my students as PDF documents with embedded videos. They can presently only read this on their PCs. It would be wonderful if I could place that material in a 7 inch Android tablet in their coat pockets. They could review a "how to" video and text immediately before perfoming a medical procedure. It is so easy and fast to prepare a Word text document, convert it to PDF embedded with a simple cropped video clip. Also the original word document can be updated in moments and be converted into a fresh PDF with video in a minute later to replace the one on the student computer or tablet whenever. This makes the teaching material a living text easy to keep permanently up to date. To date I have not managed to find an eReader or Tablet that that I could play an video embedded in a PDF document. The problem is Adobe Reader for Android doesn't do this. Does anyone know of any other easy way to produce documents with embedded video that can also be read on a pocket size tablet or eReader? Is Adobe going to upgrade Adobe Reader for Android to this ability sometime? Is there any other PDF reading app that can play embedded video?

Saving fillable PDF file in Android Adobe Reader Mobile Application

I'll do my best to explain my situation.
1. I open the fill-able PDF file from Google Drive with Android Adobe Reader Mobile Application.
2. I fill out the pdf form using the Android Adobe Reader Mobile Application.
3. Once I'm done filling-in the PDF, I would like to save the file in a specific folder in Google Drive.
I cannot find any saving option within the Android Adobe Reader Mobile Application.
The only way around saving was the "Sharing" feature. It allows the user to share the pdf file using various android applications such as Google Drive, Email, and Evernote to share the file.
This does not allow for overwriting of the original file. Therefore, you will create a new file every time you share the file.
I wanted to know if there was a way to save the file under the same name to overwrite the same file in the Android Mobile version.

You need to duplicate(and/or rename) it first (after finding it in the "Documents" menu tab), then fill it out. This is the workaround for the missing Save/Save as menu. Once you fill out something, and leave the application, the document will be saved automatically.
